Coco Vanilla by Alyssa Ashley

I purchased this fragrance years ago in Italy during the summer months. I am here writing this review over 10 years later because I still think of this fragrance. This is a beautiful vanilla fragrance, it's very tropical and almost sweet. I would say it almost has a banana vanilla vibe to it. it's not very woodsy, not very floral in the traditional sense. The florals are very complimented by the sweet notes balancing out to feel like a sweet tropical fragrance with some light florals that blend very well. I would put it similar to a sweeter version of replicas beach walk, but with more fruity and vanilla notes. If I were to compare this fragrance to Mancera, I would put them at opposite ends of a coconut vanilla fragrance. This is very sweet, very playful, think early 20's playing on the beach sunscreen, sunshine, sweet treats and laughter. However I do believe it's been discontinued as it's not available on their website. This is a shame considering this would be great for a gourmand girl looking for something lighter and fruitier for the summer months.

my bf had said later i smelt of sweet butter. and my mom says it smells like coconut. i thought it was coco(chocolate) and vailla but i was wrong. smells cute and sweet tho

I picked this perfume up a while ago at a very cheap price, and really it smells more expensive than it is. It's a pretty, tropical(ish) and fairly linear scent. There's no real complexity to it, and no layers, but for a simple vanilla/coconut scent, it's a good buy. There is a slight chemical undertone to this fragrance that I find with a few Alyssa Ashley scents, but nevertheless, if you're looking for a sweet straightforward, coconutty vanilla, this is worth a try. Sillage seems pretty good initally, but unfortunately the scent does fade pretty quickly. It's a good buy to keep in your gym bag for after a workout, or in your desk at the office for when you need to top up. All in all I'd rate this perfume at 6.5/10...but for the price, it's worth having a bottle on hand for those times when you want a nice perfume but don't want to use up the more expensive ones.

It is similar to Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche, but unfortunately it isn't as good. The vanilla here is synthetic (smells just like vanillin), the opening isn't as zesty as I hoped, but I'll definitely wear it. Bronze Goddess has extremely poor longevity, so CocoVanilla is already an amazing alternative for 5x less money. If you're indecisive between CocoVanilla or Vanilla by Alyssa Ashley, this is my opinion, since I own both the EDTs: - 'Vanilla' is warmer like caramel and reminds of Pink Sugar, but is most similar to Vanille Absolu; - 'CocoVanilla' is fresher and fruitier like Bronze Goddess Eau Fraiche; - 'Vanilla' is very linear and almost like a single note perfume; - 'CocoVanilla' is more complex and smells like a blend of notes; - 'Vanilla' is more gourmand whereas CocoVanilla is more tropical/sunscreen.

I have the non-alcoholic version of this fragrance. Therefore I can use it in the middle of summer and stay in the sun without the risk of getting skin marks. Its name perfectly describes what you are going to find, it is a very creamy vanilla coconut and where you can also perfectly perceive this note of beach sand, although it may sound strange, the product smells like the typical beach bag where the sand remains in the bottom, salt and some spilled sunscreen. It's simple but well done. I love it and I use it during vacation. The duration is not bad considering that mine is a non-alcoholic and water-based fragrance. Well, stays about 3/4 hours and for its price I can't ask for more.

I got this as a dupe for Bronze Godess as I couldn't justify spending so much money on something with next to no longevity at all. This, on the other hand, lasts many, many hours on my skin and was only a fraction of the price. It is a very simple scent. It smells coconut and vanilla (what a surprise!), nothing more, nothing less and it is a pretty linear experience. I don't find it chemical smelling as some suggest here, I guess you have to test it yourself. I find it a creamy scent. I mainly use it to layer with less sweet scents when I want to make a bitter or citrusy perfume a bit softer and sweeter.

Lovely scent but very bad quality! I tested this on my hand and sniffed. 'Wow such a lovely rich creamy coco vanilla scent!' and grabbed a bottle. I was on my way to buy it but decided to smell my hand again and then...nothing. There was no scent anymore. I was very disappointed and put the fragrance back on the shelf. The scent literally lasted like for a minute. My heart is crying blood over this since I would have really really loved it.

I tried the single note vanilla fragrance from the brand Acqua di Gabia and it smells to me exactly like this, but somehow better, lasts longer and doesn't have that sticky texture that made me regret buying Coco Vanilla in the first place. I do like this type of scent but my favorite has to be Coco Cream 🤍 it's the gourmand queen of them coconut vanillas

Personally I like the smell very much - maybe just a tad bit too sweet. But everyone else seems to hate it :D Must be the controversial coconut in it. But this smells particularly good if you spray just a little on your hair! :)

Picked this up since Comptoir Sud Pacifique Vanille Coco is not available in my country. Simple tropical gourmand. Vanilla cupcakes topped with toasted coconut. Sweet, warm and perfect for layering.

A mild tropical vanilla scent. Goes on an vaporizes nearly instantly. A nice smell but borderline usability.

Totally smells like a sun cream.

This scent smells very cheap to me. There is a chemical undercurrent that is very off putting. I can smell coconut and vanilla but it's synthetic, heavy and somewhat pungent with no freshness whatsoever. There are many other coconut and vanilla scents out there that are much more composed than this is.

I think it's okey but nothing more. Got it as a gift, and I had wanted to test it since I like Vanilla EdT of this brand. It's a gentle smell (but sweet)and I think it also smells pineapple. More like coconut & pineapple with some little bit of vanilla. Reminds me of Pina colada

Just like the name says, this is equal parts coconut and vanilla. Nothing more. It smells a bit harsh at first but if you give it a chance, it settles into a sweet tropical scent.

I guess something is wrong. I don't even feel or smell this fragrance... It makes an oily sticky layer on my skin...even in my legs where i have very dry skin it becomes oily sticky! I am very very disappointed! Never had something so bad!

Just awful & dissapointing. If you want ant a gourmand just go for Vanilla Touch Le Rive or Yves Rocher coconut body mist. This one doesnt last and does nothing. Glorified air freshener.

I absolutely love this perfume and l can't believe l have just discovered it a week ago! there's something about it that makes me think about the time when l was teenager, even though l didn't know it then. I also think it will be great to layering with different perfume. I only regret that l ordered alcohol free version, as it gets sticky on my skin. I definitely getting equal notes of vanilla and coconut as well as tiare flawed and some exotic fruity notes, possible citrus and pineapple. So l have finally got an alcoholic version in EDT and l like it much more then alkohol free one, but l have noticed that the perfume looks kind of dark in a bottle, so l wonder if that's normal, my bottle looks exactly like the above one on the picture except the perfume colour is dark brown inside...it smells nice, but l think it doesn't last longer on my skin then the cologne one. I wish l could get it in a perfume form because it is a very skin scent on me.

I have a sample of this which came with some other ones. It’s better than I thought it would be but I have mixed feelings about it. It definitely smells like it says it does: coconut and vanilla. I smell absolutely zero Amalfi lemon in the top notes, but that might be because I’m untrained. It’s a little too sweet. On the other hand, I think it could be quite pleasant for example if you spray it on before going outdoors, to the beach or sea side, or if you’re chilling poolside at a resort sipping margheritas. For me, this perfume is definitely about context. Soft sillage. I would love to know if there are any other more complex perfumes out there that evoke the same feeling of the tropics... in that regard this perfume is actually quite successful, I just think it lacks depth.
