Oh oh oh I love this! Adore it!!! It's so......esoteric! It's just my cup of tea. Delicate and sensual, gorgeous smoky, dry musty bitter-chocolatey vetiver, sweet orange blossom, sweet and sour citrus makes it zing, soft fluffy musk and cashmere, and smooth melting amber. But the best and most thrilling part of this is the anise! Gorgeous and amazing. Completely amazing. I can't stop sniffing myself, even though it has good sillage and I can smell it all the time; I still love pressing my nose close. I lasts forever, and I'm just so happy to have it. It is a beautiful perfume!!! And the bottle!!! It's almost my favourite part of it all!!! It's wonderful!! Completely stunning. Perfect!!

I really like Esoteric, it's very deep and sensual on me, and beautifully rich and strong. I feel it's quite unique. I love that it's not a very easy to wear perfume; I like things that are different, and take time to get accustomed to, which this one is and does. It's lovely. Seems very well blended, and lasts very well. It's a really gorgeous blend of citrus, fresh yet rich flowers, lovely amber and smoky woody smells. The anise adds a wonderful lift and thrill. The vetiver is very noticeable for me, which I love. A very lovely perfume. And the bottle is stunning!!!

In my opinion there' some confusion... Esoteric was launched in 2007, not 1997! I checked in Internet, but I was pretty sure, because I remembered when it just came out, only a few years ago! Anyway, I don't think it's a copy... Some fragrances may resemble others, if they have a bit of common notes. I like Alien, and maybe I like Esoteric even more, because the notes are better blended and more delicate. The musky base note makes the perfume somehow "clean" and very easy to wear (while in Alien the jasmin and amber are maybe too prominent and heavy)!

This little gem smells dark, like garden flowers at night time, itensified aroma of mixed florals and woods, sweet, yet bittery, like a gingerbread. Although I thought it will be only a stereotypically "witchy" fragrance, - it does smell witchy, ritualistic and dangerous. It is not for sweet blondy in summer dress and with ice-cream. It is for forest-wonderers, who prefer the moonlight to the sunshine of the day. On my skin and to my brain it doesn't resemble Alien of Mugler at all, ( I dislike Alien), but it rings the bell of Ange ou Demon Givenchy and Moon Dance of JHAG. Also amateurs of Lolita Lempicka with its anise-seed might like Esoteric as well. As it progresses it starting to radiate hints of ginger cookies, like Nina Ricci's blue Belle. Recommend if you want to get something positively different and niche-alike among the budget segment. Review was about 100 ml EDP.

this starts with a lot of amber and a hint of anise, the anise growing stronger over time. the florals bloom on the skin shortly thereafter, and i think i am getting primarily orange flower, not jasmine. however, these don't smell like typical florals so it's difficult to tell. this reminds me of a more intense and floral hypnotic poison, but with anise instead of almond (if memory serves, it's been a long time since i wore it.) it may also smell like alien, but i don't remember alien as clearly and it didn't work for me, was too strong. this is fortunately not as strong, and it's a solid like.

I don't like this one at all! I'm not generally a fan of AA so I may be negatively biased, but when it came ou a few years ago I was actually intrigued by the bottle on shelf at local Sephora. The moment I sprayed it on paper I regretted. This is very plastic smell, heavy, like warmed plastic. It shares a vague similarity with Hipnotic Poison and Kenzo Flower, which I both dislike. Not happy of that I wanted to test on skin, you never know it may change... worse. It's tenacious and sold for good price.

I had never heard of this brand until reading about Ambre Gris in an older article on here that someone recently resurrected "Top 10 Bargain Perfumes You Can't Miss". It sounded interesting so I went to the website and purchased that one as well as Esoteric. The bottle is super cute, and notes seemed interesting. Considering the fact that it's a bargain fragrance, I was prepared for a certain level of quality and longevity. I received it today and I'm really glad I made the purchase. It's nice - reminds me of a cross between a less complex hypnotic poison and Jean Arthes Guipure & Silk, mixed with lots of bubble gum... Lasting power is actually pretty good, and I was worried, because despite the hype over Ambre Gris, I was surprised to find only a whisper of a skin scent. This one is much more present. Great blind buy...

Mugler's Alien is too intense on the Jasmine for me. headach inducing, but Esoterica is a perfect cloud of jasmine expertly tamed by florals, anise and clouds of woody musky sexiness. I adore this!!! Witchy maybe but divine for sure. Get it if you can - its discontinued in this magnificent bottle. I think another Alyssa fragrance called Purple Elixir smells similar. Esoterica is exactly what I expected it to smell like when I was bewitched and intrigued by the bottle. What a high end smelling bargain!!

The scent is very very peculiar, but not too bad. I had a sample of this and my mom fell absolutely in love with it and purchased it right away. It's a strong scent which deepens with time, very sensual, bit dark but also very memorable. Definitely a controversial scent, either you love it or absolutely hate it. Men seem to like it in general but many women dislike it.
