White Musk

My new favorite!!! I simply adore AA White Musk! Oh my goodness.. I'll be quite honest, the perfume is quite simple. While I am still in the process of test wearing it for another week or so, I already know this is going into my top 5 for life. It is EXACTLY what I was looking for, now for the review: White Musk opens with a strangely sweet and "old" 90s sort of vibe. I can't describe it! Truly, I don't know what this smell is that it bursts with.. And that lingers in the heart but there is something 90s and sweet. Not in a gourmand sweet way though.. This is a smell of nostalgia for me, and it bothers me so much that I can't explain where it's from or WHAT it is but I adore it. Perhaps it is the tarragon note? I don't know what else in the notes could possibly lend to a sweetness.. But yes, she opens sweet and stays sweet but it's just a hint of mischievous sweetness in a fresh, nostalgic way! The heart blooms with beautiful lilac and jasmine. I mostly get that divine, powdery fresh lilac though. Perhaps some sweetness could also be drawn from the lilac note? This is not heady jasmine by any means, I'm mostly getting sweet, delicate and lilac.. And then the drydown, ohhh the drydown! It dries down to this perfect, clean, white musk. Whispers of the sweet lilac and tarragon (I assume) melt with the musk but it melts with my own skin chemistry and it creates this like.. Clean laundry but also clean skin fusion on me. I love it, it's an absolute winner and skyrocketing up into my top 5 for life. It hits literally all of the things I like in all of the right ways (A touch of sweet, lilac and clean musk). This smells like an innocent but mischievous angel. Someone sweet but flirty. Not overtly flirty to the point of being like "that".. But a girl who knows how to be playful, innocent and precious all at the same time. It feels white and clean and girly and fresh and all of the things I am! I love this perfume so much I could go on forever but I will stop lol. Side note! Patchouli is listed but I get absolutely no patchouli here. I wouldn't have minded it necessarily but whatever the case, she is perfect regardless. Longevity: 7/10 She needs to be reapplied eventually but she lasts a few hours on me, that's all I really need for any amount of time so it doesn't bother me. Sillage: 6/10 I'd say moderate but I need to test more and see what others around me say. This feels intimate to moderate though. Perhaps if you overspray it, it may project better. My clothes certainly smell of it after the fact but I don't know if it's really putting a scent bubble around me. Value: 10/10 Absolute CHEAPIE! Loves it! despite the 7 and 6, I give this perfume a personal rating score of 10 out of 10 because it is divine juice. It smells perfect to me, nostalgia in a bottle. One day, I'm sure I'll recall who wore this in my past as a child.. And it will become even more special to me but for now, I will simply adore it for what it is to my nose: perfection. You may as well call this Angel Musk because that's what it really is.

I adore this! The reviews are so different from my experience. I paid ten bucks on Ebay for a bottle of this. Figured I could spray my sheets and curtains with it if nothing else. Got it, sprayed some on my hand, took a quick sniff and was pleased to not smell hair spray or tarragon, but it didn't wow me by any means. That was two hours ago as I was leaving work. Got home and thought my essential oil diffuser was really pumping out the jasmine....then realized it was my hand! This smells amazing! Jasmine, clean musk, and great sillage. Ten dollars! I'm crazy for it. It's so warm and just buttery feeling. I just ordered two more. I am simply stunned. Was expecting weak and watery and got big, round, rich beauty. Guess there is a god!

I got this as a present when i was somewhere around 11, or 12. It was my first fragrance and i looooved it, and wore it 2 years non-stop. A few months ago, someone walked past me and smelled just like it. I almost forgot about this scent! I re-purchased, and i STILL love it. The bottle is simple, can't say much about it. The scent itself is hard too describe. It's a clean, almost soapy? musky, sweet, and powdery scent. I wear this from fall to spring, and the lasting power is average. A way to solve this is by wearing the matching bodylotion, of course. But i take this everywhere with me, and just keep spraying. This is one of my all-time favorites!

never knew inexpensive scent can smell this good. it wears very close to my skin, the drydown just melting with my persona, leaves me feeling good all day long. the sillage is not very strong but on me it stays for about 7 hours. I'll make it my signature frag, for sure.

Opens a bit too soapy, but as it settles it's a gorgeous scent

If you’re anything like me, you don't go crazy for pure musk scents. I prefer other genres; I love oriental and amber, woody, leathery, fougère, chypre, and I also like musky when mixed with other notes. Among other things, I recently observed that I am anosmic to some musks and that I do not smell some fragrances at all. So, white musk is not in my book. Surprisingly, it’s a favorite of my hubby; he enjoys Alyssa Ashley Musk. Anyway, I came across White Musk by mistake. I saw it on promotion along with the body lotion, and I got it thinking I would give him a pleasant gift. But when I got home, I realized that there was a noun “White” next to "Musk". Oh man, the present ended up in the back of a closet and has been neglected until now. Since today is one of those gloomy Sundays, when you don’t want anything, but to lie down on the sofa reading a book, I thought I’d wear this perfume and give it a chance. In the blend of White Musk, the colorful flowers of the heart make the sensual and musky notes of the underlying musk elegant, rounder, sweeter. It starts with the musky base of the original Musk, with just a little bit of bright bergamot and a touch of spicy white pepper. The citrus and peppery notes last only a few seconds and then give way to the mellifluous ylang-ylang. The initial phase is like this, so it takes some time for the engine to warm up. In the heart, it uses the sensual jasmine and the slightly smoky lily-of-the-valley to balance the animal part with the sweet and pure one. It also brings a touch of exquisite elegance through the use of a dewy rose without encroaching on the rosy field. Geranium enhances the spicy facet of the rose, masterfully harmonizing the result. It is a perfume capable of expressing the sweetness and soul of a dreamer. I feel a kind of freesia and a lilac note, perhaps misty violet. The middle notes are where the magic comes into play. A bouquet that radiates warmth as if mixed with a note of golden beeswax. it just blew me away at this point. The base turns around musk, earthy, and amber accords. Musk is dusty, there is something that makes me think of white chalk, I know it might not sound good but it is very nice. A pinch of patchouli adds the right dirtiness, likewise, a tad of vetiver provides a sense of earthiness. The dark things blend with a light and sweet amber. Towards the end, it becomes a little sweeter, as if amber and vanilla finally reveal themselves, but remains a comforting skin scent. I consider White Musk a more delicate category of musk, the epitome of elegance and class. And I have to say it's very airy and lovely. Like a white feather in the wind. It smells like a crisp morning spring breeze from the open window with beautiful budding flowers. This is not the typical fresh laundry moss. It is so velvety. So intimate. Clean but not soapy, at least on my skin. White Musk doesn't stand for pure musk, it stands for velvety musk, so the flowery notes of ylang-ylang, jasmine, and lily-of-the-valley play a huge role. Soft, transparent, and captivating. Not too jarring or hairspray, and it doesn't smell dated like white musk can sometimes. It smells good and doesn't look much like perfume, but like a clean and sexy skin scent. It also lasts longer on me. No longevity problems. It shouldn't even project; it is musk, and musk should be an intimate perfume. It has not of that nasty musk smell, which makes it look simpler on the skin, but it's also what makes it last longer. A great spring fragrance for days of leisure.

This White Musk is not new but it's new for me as I always overlooked it for years. I guess the reason was something on the line of: "Not yet another AA, please!" I like almost nothing from the brand, especially the classic AA Musk, for which I could never understand the hype. Most AA fall in a category of harsh old hairspray or heavy stuff. I sprayed White Musk from a tester and I was positively impressed. No hairspray, no dirt, no piercing aldeids, no heavy patchouli. I had to go back and test it many times before I was convinced that the nice smell was not going to become a monster on my skin before buying it. It's only slightly alcoolic in the opening, but it fades soon and leave a lovely, clean, floral musky scent with no screechy tone. The more it stays on my skin, the more it becomes mellow and gentle but still longlasting. I'm a long time fan of Cacharel Noa, but that was a much louder and feisty scent with a specific personality before the sad reformulation, so now AA White Musk might be a nice replacement for the current version of Noa. Anyway it's a very gentle and behaved version of a white musk that doesn't scream fabric softener nor dirt. It might remind of all the white musk from Jovan or TBS, but it's actually very different. Every other white musk tried so far has something disturbing for me, but AA White Musk doesn't. It's just gentle, fluffy and feminine with a typical your-skin-but-better vibe and it stays put for a few hours without morphing and without projecting too much. Cheap and good, I guess it could be a safe office scent, but I can smell a bit of innocent sexiness in it.

Alyssa Ashley White Musk is a unique white musk fragrance. For me it's much better than other drugstore/disc. dept. store white musks. This is a a rich, creamy, skinscent that is unique smelling. Not too sweet and no sharp or synthetic notes that other white musks have. I don't know if this is discontinued or not, but the Alyssa Ashley Co. should consider reintroducing it (at least around the holiday season so musk-heads like me can stock up). I purchased my latest bottle from an Ebay seller at a reasonable price - the bottom of the box said Monaco and Dist.-Connecticut (interesting...didn't know fragrances were produced in Monaco).

I bought this one because I kept reading about it and I love white musk. It's a clean, pretty floral scent, but it's not the kind of bright uplifting or warm, creamy white musk I tend to prefer. I find the musk (which isn't exactly like the original Alyssa Ashley but still related) to be fairly subdued while subtle floral notes are more noticeable. I get the rose, violet and orris, mostly, and that makes it lean a little toward smelling a bit more vintage than I'd expected. It's nice, but not for me. I could see it being simple, pretty and inoffensive on most people, or a good base to start out for layering with some brighter notes.

White Musk by Alyssa Ashley is a very economical, fresh, pleasant fragrance while it lasts ... At the juste pulvérisé the citrus notes of the bergamot are well defined, they are appreciated clear, followed by the tarragon that finds its clear place in the dry, in accordance with the floral bouquet dominated by lilac and pink. When dry down, the musky notes take over, creating a tender effect: parfum peau de bébé. Unfortunately, everything is extremely confined to the point where it is sprayed, in the environment it is very labile, volatile, it vanishes by magic without a trace.

I dislike the original Alyssa Ashley Musk but I like this one quite a bit. This is more of a floral musk blend, rather than a straight up musk. I am a patchouli lover but I smell no patchouli in this at all so I am puzzled when some people say they smell a lot of patchouli. I wonder if there are different formulations, or maybe I just prefer a stronger patchouli overall. I think this is best in cooler weather, as I find this to be a rather warm scent. This is not a strong scent, thankfully, because I think the heavy florals and musk could be overbearing if heavily applied.

I bought this for my mom. When I tested it on my wrist, it is more of a nostalgic powder and musk scent - which is good for older women. At the dry down, I thought I smelled baby oil but the longer I smell it, the more it appears intriguing. I can feel that this may not be the kind of fragrance for typical young ladies. I will probably try the Musk version soon.

If we don't want to complicate our lives, or it’s hard to make a choice on the right perfume of the day, here, it can do it for us. White Musk helps us get out of the "impasse". A good white musk sometime can do this. To me it does not fall into banality, it's far from a cheap perfume. My tester card holder reads: Tenderly Sensual. Well, it is.

I really like the White Musk, think it's even better than the original, although I love that one too. This one is sweet, more feminine. Lasting power isn't great, average I think. But for the price it's definately a winner.

Oh my goodness! I didn't know how I'd feel about this as I rarely like perfumes with patchouli in, but this is the most perfect skin scent! It is gently musky and very sweet (in a sugar syrup way, not a modern vanilla / cotton candy way), with a clean and fresh vibe that is elevated by the herbal floral undertones. Really very beautiful. Not much projection so it would be perfect for those who are sensitive to perfumes or work in hospitals etc, as it's just sweet and clean smelling. I'm not keen on the regular Alyssa Ashley Musk as I find it too urinal / animalic and smells a bit too dirty, but this is 100% fresh and clean. Very feminine and pretty. I suspect lots of women wouldn't consider trying an old fashioned perfume described as a musk, in a bottle like this, but it's a shame because I think some of the classic cheapies are considerably nicer than the modern, barely-there chemical musc that get's all the attention!

This perfume smells like fresh, slightly smoky laundry. I personally don't like or dislike it. It's just there.

Terrible scent. I love the original AA musk - especially the oil version. This, however, is as bad as the original is good. To my nose it smels like old make-up powder - lost for decades in a drawer. It could also smell like cheap supermarket lotion. Sorry to AA fans, I simply just cant shake the old, old make up-powder scent in this one. It smells so dated. No need to wash it off in a hurry though - it dissipates within 10 min. anyway. Even for a flanker this is really bad work.

I've had a bottle of this hanging around for years, will use it once and then not want to come back to it for ages. I've come to the conclusion that as others have said - 'too little musk, too much patchouli'. Much prefer the cleaner type of musk from Jovan or Al-Rehab.

Smells like catpee and citrus. Herbal, acrid, unfresh... Not at all similar to TBS or Jovans versons of White Musk, which smells soft and velvety.
