Gelato Viva La Vanilla

@Mattesha Erotica, I partly agree with you, but your expectations are honestly unrealistic. You cannot expect an Arabic brand to give you exactly the same performance, DNA, and refinement as high-end designer fragrances while selling them at literally 1:4 (or even less) of the price. That’s just not how pricing or positioning works. And your comment on the whole Gelato range comes off as extremely ungrateful. These brands like Armaf, Le falcone, Amaran, Tubbees, Khadlaj, Afnan and others are putting in serious effort to make designer-style fragrances accessible and affordable for everyone. Instead of appreciating that, some people just keep nitpicking “this is missing,” “that is not good enough,” “this is not a proper inspired version.” But honestly, not everything is meant for that level of criticism. If it’s not for you, fine but don’t dismiss the entire effort behind it. For many of us, these fragrances do deliver value and enjoyment, and that should count for something too.

This one surprised me! I was fully expecting this to be another sharp synthetic Middle Eastern vanilla. But it really is a nice smooth creamy vanilla with a light creamy almond facet. So I see why people have voted for Hypnotic Poison because of that but this isn't a dupe by any means. This isn't a dupe for Vanilla Sex or Bianco Latte or Escapade Gourmande. It's its own fragrance. I actually think it is most similar to Dulce but with a light almond note to it. It's not too nutty at all. Nut notes haven't been working for me lately but I can do this level of nuttiness. Worth checking out if that all sounds good. Pleasantly surprised by this. I want to check out others from this line now.

i’ve only just opened this and smelt it and i’m already in love!! i’m not the biggest gourmand fan but i’ve been hunting for vanillas that aren’t to gourmand that i like, my all time favourite is Dulce By Rosie Jane (the perfect ideal vanilla for me) but it ends up being so expensive and i use the small bottle quickly. this is soooo similar to dulce! it’s stronger and has a bit more warmth to it then Dulce but there almost identical, i love how this is a sweet powdery lactonic vanilla, the florals aren’t as prominent but it stops it from being to overwhelming sweet. i definitely recommend this if you aren’t a fan of super sugary burnt/salty caramel scents!

I do smell the similarities in this and hypnotic poison but without that playdough like smell that hypnotic poison has. It’s a mature vanilla scent that can be dressed up and down which makes it great for every occasion, it’s a smooth mix of vanilla, musk and almond. It’s right up my alley 😍

First impressions I got baby powder vanilla and almond. Almond is very present. The perfume smells a little floral and as Jengotcha01 mentioned, I take notice to that powdery doll scent. I don't mind the perfume. However, this doesn't smell like a decadent dessert. The vanilla note smells like vanilla extract - which helps to support the idea of this smelling like vanilla gelato. The presentation is beautiful and feels nice in the hands too. The cone has a very secure grip on the gelato. It is a quality piece. 1 Week Maceration Within 3 days this perfume evolved into the masterpiece it was created to be. This is my opinion, but it smells warm and velvety - and smoky. I don't necessarily get cold gelato vanilla - but then I'm not quite sure how that would smell considering vanilla is universally recognized for smelling warm to a person's nose. Viva la Vanilla smells velvety and a little smoky. When I smell this one, it reminds me of vanilla bean ice cream where you can actually see the finely ground vanilla pods. I also smell fluffy powdery marshmallow. A literal pure marshmallow - it's as if you plucked a squishy fresh one from its bag, smelled it, and could smell its powdery sweetness. The apricot blends seamlessly into the vanilla and is much more prominent than when I tried it the first time. Vanilla has the voice and the apricot blossom and osmanthus simply influence the vanilla scent. I like Amaran's Viva la Vanilla and it lives up to the notes listed. It's a beautiful - but in my opinion a little smoky and velvety. In relationship to ice cream and gelato - it reminds me of vanilla bean.
