Oxana Patchouli

I tried to add Dior Midnight Poison in the “reminds me of” field but it glitched out. Now that that’s out of the way, this fragrance is definitely not something I would have purchased had I not sniffed it in person. I don’t really care for patchouli much. It’s not something I seek out or prefer as a main character. I grabbed this bottle and sniffed it, immediately it reminded me of MP. The note pyramid is not accurate here. Many companies don’t list the full notes, there is definitely that icy, chilly. Bergamot patch in the opening. The cinnamon is barely detectable, and serves only to add a hint of warmth. Despite what’s listed, I smell more. I tested both OP and MP (Oxana Patchouli/Midnight Poison) on opposite wrists simultaneously, they followed the same trajectory for about 4 hours, and that’s where they split. The OP has more of an Amber glow toward the drydown (the chilly, frosted patch is still there however faint) the original MP has that smooth, rich vanilla drydown. In conclusion... if you’re missing MP and don’t want to sell a kidney... try this. I hate doing such a long comparison, and not giving it credit for a stand alone fragrance, however I can’t get past the similarity, and that’s not a bad thing. This fragrance is absolutely gorgeous! It sings in the cold weather. For the price... come on! A freaking STELLAR fragrance! (Coming from an Amouage addict..) trust me when I say this is a steal.

This is the first perfume I've ever completely finished the bottle and it took me a little over a year to do that. I wore it almost daily. I'm devastated that I finished it and I want to buy another bottle. I felt like it made me smell like a witch, which is what I wanted. I took a chance on it because I saw it at TJ Maxx and it said Patchouli which is one of my favorite notes, and it instantly became a daily driver fragrance. I loved it so much that I'm even writing a review. This is the perfume that turned me into a fragrance conneseuir.

This is absolutely stunning if you’re a real patchouli lover. I came across this by accident at TK Max in the UK and its instantly became my signature perfume. Completely different from all the overly sweet fruitchouli’s of today. It’s heady, dark and earthy but in no way bitter. I detect a possible slightly unsweetened vanilla in the dry down, even though it’s not listed as a note. This is just downright sexy.

This is a very good dupe of Nightfall Patchouli: the patchouli is earthy and aromatic, mixed with cinnamon, benzoin, and amber.

Potent, cinnamon, boozy bomb. To me it smells exactly like Gluhwein. Especially the opening is very strong with the wine and cinnamon. Then it settles to a warm, softer version of the opening. The vibe that I get is 90s potent perfume, some of the old school luxury we had back then. It is a very special perfume to have on my collection. Hard to see where I can wear it though in today's more simplistic and refined era. I can see it working for older people ,men and women who have a certain lifestyle that includes dressing up and going to formal events to impress with their outfit and strong, special perfume. Unapologetic and not afraid to stand out. For the price it is a very unique,performative and powerhouse of a perfume.

I’m someone who really enjoys a patchouli note in a lot of fragrances, and the cinnamon note really intrigued me. It just came in today and I’m assuming it may need to mature a bit, so this is a first impression review. For some reason, I was expecting something like a super potent Euphoria, or The only one intense. That’s what I had pictured in my head, but this is way more patchouli dominant than I expected. I know it’s literally in the name, but sometimes names of fragrances aren’t always reflective of the juice. I don’t dislike it, it’s just different than I expected. It is a bit of a hippy patchouli. At least fresh out of the box. If I had to try to create a visual, it’s a bit like a patchouli oil from Hot Topix back in the day, mixed with Tabu! (The icon I adore) As it dries down it gets softer and way less hippy patchouli smelling. It starts to round out and become more sophisticated. This is when I really start to like it! It’s a bit witchy, but a sexy witch, not a giant wart on the nose scary witch! It would be stunning for a fall evening! This is the one you wear when you’re wearing all black and a smoky eye and channeling your inner femme fatale! Even still, I think it could be completely unisex! I don’t get as strong of a cinnamon note as I had hoped, right now it’s really subtle. Perhaps that will come out as it ages more. I also think this would be an amazing layering fragrance to tone down those overly sweet scents I have that I don’t love. I’m just getting to know this, and I’ve only tried it on paper. I’ll update as I get to know it better. I could see myself loving it. Time will tell. I’d also like to get my nose on the fragrance it’s supposed to be similar to and see how it compares. It’s super affordable so if you’re a patchouli lover, you should definitely grab this!
