Mandaroud

This is such an interesting fragrance. It opens like some of my favorites with a sharp green galbanum, some mandarin, but also an oud-y darkness. The sharp galbanum mellows through the wear, morphing into some osmanthus and magnolia, but the oud starts to take shape as a smoky, almost barbecue, oud. All the while the mandarin becomes a dried orange smell. Somewhere around the sixth hour the fragrance goes into its final "dry darkness" phase where the dominant notes are the smoky oud and tobacco. Some ambergris and patchouli make there way in, adding a salty savory note to the smokey end of the fragrance. I would describe my experience with this fragrance as a dark and smokey fragrance that plays well with citrus. Personally, I've layered this fragrance with fresh-orange fragrance samples that I have (Afternoon Swim, Herbes Troublantes) for extra depth that meshes really well. The fragrance is strong, projection is about 6 feet but consistent throughout 6-8 hours. That is exceptional on a nonlinear fragrance. If you have the chance give this a sniff, its pretty far removed from popular "western hemisphere" fragrances and is a true statement fragrance.

Extremely wearable dark, woody Oud that has modest projection but great longevity. The rum and florals provide some element balance. Very pleasing and shines in cooler temperatures. I would recommend for evening wear.

Beautiful. Just beautiful. Looking to purchase a full bottle soon. Update: Got a full bottle for my birthday. 50ml is the largest size as it’s an extrait. I stand by my first comment. I can tell as it maturates it’ll just get better. Now for the scent. It opens up with fresh mandarin the mid is creamy sandalwood and the base is rose and Oud. This stuff is magical. In hot humid Texas, it’s perfect for Spring summer and fall. Yes oud, yes summer. You heard that right.
