Vanulia

I tried this in 7scents perfumery in Budapest and do not own a full bottle. I mostly get a really high quality vanilla with a very interesting beeswax note which really mellows out this fragrance into a creamy, spicy vanilla. Gourmand lovers try this out.

Boasting a laundry list of decadent ingredients, anyone would wonder what comes through most in a concoction like this... Are the elements in harmony—or discord? I’m afraid for me, while many aspects of the profile come across pretty well, overall I feel this blend tends towards the latter. The spices are a bit too loud and chaotic, the white florals are a bit subdued and never fully bloom, however, the base when it gets to the drydown is not bad at all. The beeswax, coffee, oud, tobacco vanilla combination is well balanced there. And the drydown lasts for ages, which is delightful. Projection is also nigh atomic. Although I love my spices my nose does have the slightest western disposition, so my opinion of them being too loud in the head & heart can be taken with a small grain of salt. All in all, for being still among the first several releases from this promising new perfumer/brand—I feel I still have plenty to look forward to!

I have minimal experience with vanilla, (I only have some cheap vanilla fragrances and vanille havane) but this is the best vanilla I have ever smelled, better than vanille havane in my opinion. This is a very dark and not too sweet vanilla, I love it a lot (update: after 3-4 months of usage, I still think it’s very good but vanille havane is better) (update 2: after owning vanulia more than 6 months I can say that it is better than vanille havane only because vanille havane isn’t rich enough for me it’s an edp concentration whereas vanulia is an extrait and is very rich/dense)
