Beach Hut Man

Beach Hut Man is one of my absolute favorite, if not my favorite, warm weather fragrances of all time. It is beautiful – swoon-worthy, even – powerful, unique, complex, and yet incredibly pleasing both to studied noses and to the average joe. Beach Hut Man, contrary to what its name might imply, is a very green fragrance. This is not a coconutty, easy-breezy piña colada fragrance like Creed’s Virgin Island Water, nor a fresh-’n’-salty aquatic fragrance like Bvlgari Aqva or Dolce&Gabbana Light Blue. No, this is no tropical beach hut in the Caribbean or the South Pacific, but instead reminds me of a beach hut on a wind-swept, sun-battered Greek island, a beach hut which emerges from a gnarled screen of cypress, mastic, and terebinths, surrounded on all sides by old fig trees and low, twisted olive trees, their gray-green leaves shimmering like hammered bronze in the Aegean sun. This is a beach hut which you might relax in while drinking ouzo and eating kalamatas and feta, clad in a crumpled linen shirt and jute espadrilles. You can almost feel the heat of the sun on the sand, feel a haze cloud your eyes as you look off into the vast blue distance. The opening of Beach Hut Man is a shockingly green barrage of bitter, almost camphorous mint (and hence mint that smells close to the real-deal rather than toothpaste), coupled with galbanum, and a brisk, cologne-like orange blossom. It’s sharp, fresh, and almost nose hair-singeing, but never fear – this an utterly smooth fragrance which soon settles into something incredibly pleasant. The green theme is continued in the mid, with ivy, grassy vetiver, and a smidge of earthy oakmoss. The refreshing mintiness of the opening does persist for quite a while into the mid, but after about thirty minutes to an hour it begins to fade, and the fragrance eases into a comfortable green earthiness. That earthiness is buttressed by patchouli, dry woodiness, and, what I judge to be the crowning glory of the fragrance, myrrh. Here, it's used in a similar way to Dior’s Eau Sauvage Parfum (the 2012 version, not the 2017), namely by providing a rich, rustic edge. Beach Hut Man is overall a dry, green fragrance, but the myrrh adds a dose of magic, lending the scent a warmth, slight sweetness, and a bucolic vibe. In a way, it sort of saves the fragrance from being a typical green scent, elevating it into something much more interesting and much more pleasant. The warmth, smoothness, and the mild sweetness the myrrh provides in the drydown makes Beach Hut Man utterly beautiful, memorable, and even addictive. When I smell this fragrance, my mind instantly travels to my memories of the Mediterranean – the low, stucco houses with terracotta tiled roofs; the town squares where the people take their ease with glasses of strong red wine and grilled sardines; fishing boats bobbing in azure waters; rocky landscapes blasted to drab shades of brown by the unrelenting sun, made all the more stark by the blue brilliance of the sea; the dry, warm wind carrying with it the fragrance of rosemary and wild sage and the distant warmth of fish frying in great vats of olive oil. It is a beautiful, evocative, and incredibly high-quality fragrance that brilliantly manages to balance a clear artistic vision with crowd-pleasing freshness. It is, I think, a work of art that can be appreciated by almost everyone. The performance of Beach Hut Man is absolutely incredible. Indeed, it is one of the strongest fragrances I’ve ever encountered. This stuff is incredibly potent. If you spray on Beach Hut Man, be prepared to be living with it for at least a day, or until your next shower, though it often lasts through a shower, too. This is a room filler, a mask penetrator, the kind of fragrance that announces your presence before you arrive. It is incredibly radiant. You will get noticed wearing Beach Hut Man, and people will comment on it, usually in a positive way. However, the sheer potency of this juice leads me to warn you: do NOT spray more than twice with this fragrance. Three, if you’re going to be outdoors and really want all of the animals in the forest to smell you from a mile away. Four, five, six, and above might get you dragged before a tribunal for waging chemical warfare on thousands of innocent victims. It’s that strong. Overall, this is simply a stunning piece of work that is one of Amouage's best and most underrated fragrances. If you can get it at a discount, just get it. You won't be sorry. 10/10

The weather is a bit warmer today, so I figured it's a great day to go ahead and review Beach Hut Man from Amouage. I don't know too much about the fragrance, but if I'm going off the name it should be something warm weather friendly. Does it smell like the beach? Water, sand, and tropical drinks? Let's get into it and find out; Scent: The opening is green, spicy, and aromatic. The primary notes I get are mint, ivy, galbanum, and orange blossom. The strongest of the notes are the mint and ivy. The mint is the star of the show in the dry down with a supremely fresh and icy blast. It is a photo-realistic portrayal of mint; spicy and green with a definite "cooling" effect on the nose. Imagine sticking your nose in a fresh mint plant and smelling the leaves, that's what this note smells like. It does remind me of the mint note from Xerjoff's Torino21. Right underneath the mint lies the ivy note. This note boosts the green aspect of the fragrance into the stratosphere with an intensely green and plant-like accord. Again, very realistic to what vine growing in nature smells like. Up next is the galbanum and orange blossom. The galbanum adds yet more greenery to the opening, this time with a distinct touch of fresh-cut grass. Lastly, the orange blossom adds a slightly sweetened white floral note with hints of citrus in the background. The dry down is green, woody, and earthy. The primary notes I get are mint, vetiver, oakmoss, and woody notes. The strongest of the notes are the mint and vetiver. The mint still has the same fresh and icy accord from the opening, but mellower and smoother. Meanwhile, the vetiver has emerged in the dry down to provide a solid dose of woodiness along with some grassy tones to replace what was lost with the galbanum evaporating off. This is followed by the oakmoss and woody notes. The oakmoss sets a sturdy foundation of its distinct "forest floor" earthy tones. Lastly, the woody rounds out the dry down with what I interpret as mostly sandalwood. It's not the creamy type of sandalwood, its the subtly spicy and sweet type of sandalwood. Performance: Initial projection within the first hour is very strong and can fill a room. Sillage matches that intensity with a bright and nose-tingling scent trail that's easily noticeable. After about 4 hours the projection was still at least 6 feet and the scent trail was still easily noticeable. After about 8-9 hours the projection was still about 4-6 feet and the scent trail was still easily noticeable. The fragrance lasted at least 12 hours before becoming a skin scent. When to wear: Beach Hut Man is a spring/summer fragrance that's best suited for daytime wear. This is a versatile fragrance that can be worn casually, or easily dressed up and worn for formal occasions. This would also work great as an office fragrance, just don't go too heavy on the sprays because it does perform. Blind buy: Think Torino21 in terms of minty greenery, but with woods and earth instead of fruit and citrus; that's a good comparison of what you'll find here. If that sounds good to you, this is a safe blind buy for you. Final verdict: In short, no it doesn't smell like a beach vacation. However, from the first spray I knew Beach Hut Man was going to be something special. Bright and fresh with an icy kick from the mint, drying down into a fresh and woody experience. The opening is what really got me, that mint note is so invigorating and uplifting; and the fact that it continues into the dry down is definitely a bonus. Performance was astonishingly strong for such a fresh scent. Powerful projection and sillage for the first 3-4 hours, and lasting at least 12 before fading away. Versatility is high with this fragrance, it can be worn for pretty much any occasion during the warmer months. Mass-appeal is relatively high as well since most people enjoy the smell of fresh, green mint. There's no weird or off-putting notes in this fragrance that would turn someone off. To wrap this up, I think Beach Hut Man is a masterfully crafted spring/summer scent. I was really surprised at how much I ended up enjoying this fragrance, and I will definitely be getting a full bottle for my collection. Scent: 10/10 Longevity: 10/10 Sillage: 9/10

With the arrival of spring, I felt it was time to revisit Beach Hut Man, one of my all-time favorites that, for some reason, I hadn't worn in a while. As soon as I sprayed it, I was reminded why this fragrance stands out in Amouage’s lineup. It’s green, crisp, and bold, transporting you straight to an isolated hut overlooking the sea (but not close to it), where the air mingles with the scent of sun-warmed driftwood and untamed herbs. Crafted by Elise Benat (who has also worked on Bracken Man), Beach Hut Man is an olfactory journey rather than a simple scent... which is in line with what you should expect when you pay for a niche fragrance. It opens with a punch of mint and galbanum, creating a sharp, green freshness that immediately grabs your attention. This isn't your typical beach fragrance at all; there’s no coconut suntan lotion, "solar notes" nor sugary cocktails here. Instead, it's like stepping onto a rugged, windswept coastline, where nature is raw and untamed. Maybe that hut has been abandoned for a long time? As the fragrance develops, a heart of moss and ivy emerges, grounding the initial blast of greenery with an earthy depth. This phase feels like walking through overgrown dunes, with the breeze carrying the scent of sun-scorched plants. Then, as it settles, Beach Hut Man reveals its woody base, with dry vetiver and myrrh adding a slightly smoky, resinous touch. The transition from bright and green to warm and dry is seamless, making this one of the most well-constructed green fragrances on the market. In terms of wearability, Beach Hut Man is incredibly versatile for the right occasions. It’s perfect for outdoor settings whether it's a countryside walk, a coastal getaway, or even just a casual day in the city when you want to bring a bit of that fresh, windswept energy with you. It's confident yet sophisticated. I wouldn’t call it a date-night fragrance unless your idea of romance involves hiking up a scenic trail at sunrise... but for daytime wear, especially in spring and summer, it's a top-tier choice. After revisiting it, I can confidently say that Beach Hut Man remains one of my favorite green fragrances of all time. If you’re looking for something that breaks away from the usual aquatic or citrus-heavy warm-weather scents, this is the perfect alternative. Now that spring is here, I think I’ll be reaching for it a lot more.

Absolutely amazing! Was turned off by the name for a while even though I’m one of the most ardent lovers of Amouage around. This is what I expected Durga’s Boston Ivy to smell like. This is what I thought Bamboo Harmony would ascend to. Neither of them came close. Beach Hut is in fact like a Beach Hut to my nose. There’s so much going here, there’s so many transitions it blows my mind. It opens up similar to Tom Ford’s Vert d’Encens with some Vagabond Prince’s Enchanted Forest in there....the ripe fruit part of the latter but better and more complex which says a lot because those two are no slouches. About ten minutes later a tiny bit of that astringent background in Heeley’s Coccobello kicks in, like a suntan lotion that has been seared into the skin from the brazen sun. This gives way to what I could only describe visually as a pink, red flower in a vase tucked in the corner of a beach hut that emanates through the cracks of bamboo walls and a straw thatched roof. To make it even more transcendental, a hint of sea salt lingers in the air. All the while, deep and rich ivy vines couple with dark greenery outside the hut. It’s all of these things coalesceing into one scene in such a beautiful, stunning way. This is really, really, fantastic. After wearing this the name now makes complete sense. I don’t find it silly at all but really appropriate. I don’t believe this will be for the common man. I would try before you buy. If you like designer scents, this might make you twinge, but if you have grown accustomed to the house of Amouage and others like it, I believe you will find it extremely satisfying!

A fun and tricky perfume.... The accords definitely try to fool you because on one hand you want to say they are fresh, green, aromatic, and citrusy, but on the other hand - halfway through the inhale - they become very rich, deep, and earthy. Amouage says you should pick up notes of mint, orange blossom, galbanum, vetiver, moss, ivy, patchouli, myrrh, and dry woods. Let's start from the beginning and work our way down. Yes, there is mint but it's a very cleverly disguised mint, like an apple mint or chocolate mint, that lacks the toothpaste quality and is more smooth and sweet. This could also be an effect of the orange blossom rounding it out to be a bit more floral. Then, going further down the list, you definitely pick up the vetiver, moss, and myrrh. There's an aromatic zing to it from the vetiver, and earthy greenness from the moss, and myrrh like you wouldn't believe - like walking into a church during a sacrament. After the final dry-down the patchouli comes through in a more pronounced way and all of the other accords except for the myrrh settle way down, whereas the myrrh simply calms down. And despite those final accords being patchouli and myrrh, the BHM never loses its freshness or energy since Benat pushes patchouli's and myrrh's green facets to the forefront without letting it become pushy or scratchy. Beautifully composed to where you can barely tell where one accord ends and another begins. Yes, this is meant to be a perfume evoking carefree fun, and it does for a significant part of its life, but, also make no mistake that it is wanting to make a serious statement as well.

I used some of my sample this morning before work. Upon initial spraying, I was immediately taken back to a memory that I couldn't place at first. Then it hit me. I came into my office and did a Ctrl F on this page to see if I was crazy: "Irish Spring." Whew, I'm not crazy. 1. First, calm down please: like many others here have said, it's not an insult. Obviously, this fragrance is masterfully crafted with amazing quality and blend. I'd say in the 8.5 to 10 range out of 10. 2. It's super green, super minty, and (for those who are perfumers, I can smell the oranger crystals that mimic orange blossom and there's likely some natural in it as well). I also get a hint of licorice/anise, but just a hint. This is a very complex fragrance. There is a very clean, soapy quality to it and yet it doesn't feel synthetic. At the far dry down, I smell expensive musks that make it feel "pillowy" and warm. 3. I think it shares few similarities with Polo Green, other than they are both Fougere at their core (green and a little piney in the opening) Polo Green has a strong tobacco accord running through it, and it feels more floral. Beach Hut takes a different direction after the opening. Whereas Polo Green feels more dated, Beach Hut feels modern. For me, it is dominated by mint (done in a fine way), galbanum, and oranger crystals supporting the orange blossom flower. It has an addictive quality to it. 5/5 I can especially see older gentleman enjoying this or a younger frag head. Perfect work/office fragrance

عطر بيتش هت من أمواج بإستنشاقي رذاذ العطر لاول مرة ، أغمضت عيني لثواني معدودة ، لتختفي زجاجات العطور من أمامي، وأبصر نفسي داخل إحدى الغابات المطيرة البكر التي لم تعبث بها بعد أيدي البشر ، أرى العطر بلون أخضر شديد الخضار راسما لوحة رائعة فريدة أبدعها الخالق الوهاب سبحانه وتعالى ، وإذ بي أجد نفسي أتسلق أحد التلال المتعرجة المزروعة بأعشاب عطرية على جانبيها أمتدت يدي لأضم بعض من الوريقات الخضراء لاشتم روائح النعناع وبعض من زهور البرتقال وتتلاعب في الخلفية رائحة الفتيفر والباتشولي على قاعدة خشبية مميزة. ، أرى أن مبتكر العطر جانبه الصواب في اختيار اسم العطر كوخ الشاطئ واقتراحي بان يكون الاسم كوخ الغابة Forest Hut . من وجهة نظري العطر عجيب وغريب وجميل جدا في نفس الوقت ، ينحى بعيدا عن عطور العود والزهور والعنبر والمسك فالعطر يمكن ان تطلق عليه عطر فواجير بلمسة عشبية شديدة الخضار مميزة ، فيه ملامح من عطر بيور أديكشن وعطر الغابة المسحورة ويفوقهم إبداعا. ذكرني العطر برائعة ابو قاسم الشابي واصفا الطبيعة الساحرة "في الغابِ سحرٌ، رائعٌ متجدّدٌ باقٍ على الأيام والأعوامِ وشذى كأجنحة الملائكِ، غامضٌ ساهٍ يرفرفُ في سكونٍ سامِ وجداولٌ، تشدو بمعسولِ الغنا وتسيرٌ، حالمةً، بغيرِ نظامِ ومخارفٌ نسجَ الزمانُ بساطَها من يابسِ الأوراق والأكمامِ وحنا عليها الروح، في جبروتهِ بالظلّ، والأغصانِ والأنسام في الغاب، في تلكَ المخارفِ، والرُّبا وعلى التلال الخُضرِ، والآجامِ كم من مشاعَر، حلوةٍ، مجهولةٍ سكرى، ومن فكرٍ، ومن اوهامِ غنّت، كأسرابِ الطيور، ورفرفتْ حولي، وذابتْ كالدّخانِ، امامي" العطر يأتي في عبوة مميزة تحاكي الخشب الملون المستخدم لبناء كوخ الشاطئ تقييم 9/10

For me the scent is really subtle but it lasts ages. It's just easy to get overwhelmed by other scents in the environment even when spraying a fair bit. When I wear it, it smells like I got back from them beach. It has a saltiness to it, the greenness isn't overbearing for me. After an hour you don't really get the fresh greenness anymore and it feels more damp, but still in a weirdly refreshing way because of the saltiness. In the first 30mins I noticed some minty flavour, but more like anise, which is probably the combination of the mint and myrrh, but otherwise it's not noticeably minty or citrusy on me, and I really couldn't discern the myrrh outside of this either. Strength: 4/10 - easily overpowered by other smells, but the saltiness can cut through some of it, even after a few hours. Longevity: 9/10 - lasts all day, and the beach vibe lasts all day as well. Only reason not 10/10 is because it's moderate-weak at the start and very weak at the end of the day. Also 10/10 would be stuff that lasts overnight. Projection: 5/10 - it's fine. Maybe about an arms length, but hard to tell because it's weak. Sillage: 6/10??? - the scent trail is pretty good it seems, but again just very weak so hard to tell. I don't think I'd pay 400AUD for a whole bottle but I'd definitely get a decant to wear in really hot weather. Wouldn't bother wearing in cold weather or with layers of clothes because it will disappear.

This is in the same league of Menthe Fraiche and L'Air Des Alpes Suisses in terms of quality and imagery. It’s like a stroll in a royal unkempt garden on a sunny windy summer day, I don’t get any forest like nuances people refer to, it’s neither soapy nor beachy, you can tell the ingredients are superb and alive, longevity is great but the development is simple, projection is acceptable, the dry down is flat and minty, wearability is limited since it’s very natural smelling. It leans masculine because of the vetiver. Although it’s well blended i get a vibe of essential oils you find at the local drugstore, on the plus side you get a departure of the cologne citrus heavy designers and you will leave a unique trail, I only need two sprays, i find it more suitable in spring and rainy days, might be cloying in summer, nothing in my collection is similar and im grateful to have a bottle after hearing about the discontinuation rumors. Presentation, bottle and sprayer are nice too. I would definitely recommend this for anyone who has a wide palate for unicorns or looking for art pieces, you might need to leave your olfactive memory at the doorstep if you decide to buy this one, it might be a tough sell for a casual wearer or someone who wants a small versatile collection, test before you buy.

This is extremely minty as the notes suggest. Mint is sharp and somewhere between natural spearmint and artificial fancy barbershop shampoo. Not toothpaste or chewing gum, not a gentle chocolate mint. Backed up by a slightly earthy and woody aroma. Really loved the chill it gives. This is peak "fresh spicy" – I seriously felt a slight tingle in my throat and a little brain freeze with every inhale, super fun. Didn't really feel the fragrance develop much as the hours went by, but that's okay. SUPER masculine, and overall a quite serious aroma. I would say if you're a grown-up, manly, business-first type of person, or want to give off that vibe – go for it, it can be very versatile for any time of year or event. You'll smell extremely clean and fresh. However if that's not you, I don't think that's the best choice. As I am in my 20s and an overall laid back guy who prefers unisex scents, not for me. Maybe I'll wear it in 15-20 years if I ever get a fancy suit-and-tie kinda job. A very pleasant, high-quality scent overall and the performance is great – could very distinctly feel it on my arm 10 hours later! Highly recommended for the people that fit the vibe.

My first niche fragrance was Amouage Beach Hut Man, and yeah... it was a blind buy. No regrets at all. The bottle is empty now, which already says enough. The opening is crazy. A sharp mint hits you instantly—super fresh, almost piercing, but in a good way. It wakes your nose up completely. Not sweet, not soft, just straight green and powerful. After a bit, it calms down and turns more earthy and herbal. You start getting that natural green feeling, like plants and woods, not anything synthetic. The drydown is where it really shines though—woody, slightly resinous, and just smooth in a masculine way. What’s funny is the reactions. Every time I wear it, I get compliments. No joke, at least a few every day I have it on. People ask what I’m wearing, and a couple even said I smell like I just came from Saudi, which I get—it has that rich vibe to it. Still, I wouldn’t say it’s a safe blind buy for everyone. It’s different, very green, not mass appealing. But if you’re into fragrances or want something unique, this one is special. Easy 10/10 for me.

This is a high end aromatic fougere...I don't get the beach or beach hut association...there is nothing aquatic, salty, or mineralic about this profile at all. "Country Club Man" more accurately describes the vibes and use cases for this fragrance. It opens green and very minty and dries very aromatic, woody, and smooth. It smells really good and very gentlemanly. I guess if I can describe this profile in one word it would be "refreshing". It was 100°F today and Beach Hut Man handled that heat perfectly. I sprayed myself about 5 hours ago before running errands and Beach Hut is still going strong. I can still smell it projecting off me as I type this review. Overall, this is very nicely done, but the name is a miss. I find this fragrance works well in high temperatures because its notes can withstand the heat, but it's suitable for any season. I bet it would be a fantastic scent to wear while golfing with clients or colleagues. This is an excellent choice if you appreciate classic fougere fragrances and are over 30. 9/10

Intoxicating!!!❤️ It’s been a very long time since I’ve been this excited over a fragrance! I blind bought this, took a chance and it payed off in spades!! I don’t get the hesitancy around the opening? Man I could drown myself in the opening! This is beautiful, masterfully crafted & the best part, this smells nothing like anything in my humble collection. You can smell the quality. If attention is what you’re seeking, you’ll get it with this, in a good way! It’s my first day wearing Beach Hut Man so I can’t comment on longevity & projection. If the opening is any indicator, I’d say this is no slouch! I most definitely will be getting a backup bottle of this juice. 11/10 👍🏽👍🏽 Update: After a full days wearing I’m even more elated! This fragrance sticks around, never went to a skin scent till hour 13-14. Even then I’d still catch wafts of it whilst moving about. Now that’s what I’d call getting your money’s worth mate! I’m so happy with this purchase. This is at least a must try. A solid Amouage offering!

Decisive, sharp, crisp, and clean. This scent makes me feel focused and capable. The name does this scent an injustice. Although I do think this is very wearable to the beach (or any warm weather situation), it does not bring the airy, beachy, vacation vibe that the name might suggest. This primarily smells like an elevated barbershop scent, where Irish Spring soap was the inspiration. Fresh is too soft of a word for this scent; it is bitter on my nose, especially at the opening, a cutting fougere scent. Once it mellows down it becomes herbal, almost medicinal, and much more complex. The spices and wood start to come out, but the entire time it stays very green. It's so well blended and cohesive. This is not calming to me. This is something to be worn anytime I wanted to feel composed and focused. Not a date fragrance, and not sexy, but definitely can be worn during the daytime and the heat; this is bitter and crisp in a way that even a humid summer day could not stand up to.

The main thing you need to know about Beach Hut Man is thats it's essentially a minty fresh, green chypre, a very well executed one at that. It doesn't reinvent the wheel but it's an overachiever in nearly every metric. The name is actually quite accurate, but you're not chilling in a hut on the beach, instead, you're on a tropical island, and you're building a shelter out of foliage, sticks and branches. You're covered in sticky, sour sap, soil, and god knows what else, but you're not fighting for survival, you're actually on vacation, you've showered this morning and that's what you feel like doing today. It's not scary, daring or unpleasant. It's just a fun summer scent, naturalistic and herbal, sweet, air swept and highly wearable. However, it's done the Amouage way, it's not shy or fleeting, it has a strong presence, there's depth, there are resins in the base and the overall ingredient quality is awesome. 10/10

It took me a long time to try, because I thought why would a house that has exclusive resources to frankincense, Jabal Roses, and ambergris; makes a green fresh fragrance that does not feature its main prides. But damn I was surprised. Beach Hut is just as deeply executed with personality and quality as many Amouage’s. The opening of cool minty blended very well with the bitter herbal-y galbanum. It actually my most favorite part of the perfume and it introduces itself quiet loud as well. It is a fascinating entrance of an opening. The coolness of the mint fades slowly, the greeness of what i believe is from the Ivy (quiet a unique green) reveals itself and is submissive enough to let the earthy mossy vetiver and its woodsy friends take controls. Very much a serious fragrance for reserved gentlemen. It is an impressive Amouage creation. It took me by surprise. It is fresh then turns green then turns earthy. WOW.

Amouage Beach Hut Man takes a very peculiar approach to describe a "beach hut", this is supported by the fact that it is a VERY green masculine fragrance. Evidently minty and mossy, it is not fresh, rather it is crisp and "breezy" if that is a real word. Mint, vetiver and moss are the MVP's to my nose and mind. Very forest-y like, a forest during springtime and more specifically, the bright parts of a forest, leaves, grass. Being only 19 years of age, Beach Hut is out of my league in regards to matureness. Not saying one is bound to wear scents which are predominantly created for their age group, just stating what my nose is capable of observing. Nonetheless I rock this when out and about in nature, going for a walk in nature and wearing this? Perfect match. If one is familiar with Amouage beforehands then the need to speak on performance is nonsensical, enough said haha. Love it (please sponsor me Amouage)

Ok so the opening smells EXACTLY like those chalky pink wintergreen Canada mints... But after a few minutes you get hit with pungent vetiver and bitter foliage. The composition then smoothens out and becomes a really beautifully blended fragrance, with the mint being the softest, most uplifting and refreshing mint note I’ve smelled in a fragrance. I’m personally not a fan of green scents in general as I find them to usually be too abrasive and realistic for my taste, but this stuff is great. The scent trail and presence it carries is just beautiful, making for an effortless wear in the warm weather. It still contains the signature style of Amouage, which is bold and sophisticated yet pretty and well-composed. That being said this is probably the safest Amouage, aside from Reflection. Probably won’t buy a full bottle in the near future, but it’s definitely on my radar!

My bottle is from one of the first batches. It sat mostly unused and forgotten, until it wasn’t. Woody dark green scents are my thing, and this fits perfectly in that category. It is hard to describe because it is not just a “beach hut” scent. It captures what Amouage represents: sophistication, presence, and that feeling you get when a fragrance elevates your mood and surroundings. This is the beach hut you want to go to. Think linen shirt, sandals, a drink in hand, a cool breeze in the air, and an overall sense of luxury and comfort. The mint and galbanum give a crisp, green opening, the vetiver and moss in the heart bring a dark, earthy freshness, and the woody base with myrrh and patchouli wraps it up with depth and warmth. I find it incredibly versatile for this style of fragrance. For me, it’s a 10 in its category. I will never be without Beach Hut.

Recently picked up a newer bottle. I have no issues with projection and longevity. This stuff smells MANLY to me. Smells amazing in the air. Can be off putting to some if smelled up close due to the strong green note. I personally love all aspects of it. My mom always tells me I smell like the old-school polo green. This scent basically stole the role of Aventus, Hacivat, Bohemian Lime and others for me. I still love those fragrances but BHM just does something different for me. I love the intensity of the opening. Great everyday scent that lasts forever with many layers to it. The ivy/mint combo is so refreshing and addicting. I love to wear it while doing yard work and cutting the grass. Great everyday scent for me. Smells like a barbershop in a super green jungle. My only downside is that it's not as widely available as other Amouage.

It smells like you have a garden where you grow mint. You went into your garden and pulled up bunch of mint out the ground with your bare hands and put it in a basket. It doesn't just smell like the leaves like you would find in a Mojito. The vetiver gives it that odor that you pulled out the stem, the root, and the leaves. The moss even makes it feel like you got some dirt as well. Its so life like. The opening is truly fantastic. You smell like a mint garden. There is no sweetness here but there also isnt anything bitter either. After a bit it becomes more soapy clean. Like a bar of soap added to the basket of mint. This is an awesome scent. Only downside is figuring out where to wear this. its a true niche perfume. Smells unique, good and its long lasting. Its a 8.5/10 for me.

OK, I think I've just received and tested a pre-reformulation sample (the old style, pastel beach hut door style packaging). Previously, I had almost certainly sampled the reformulated version, which was good, but... The pre-reformulation sample I have just tested has one of the best openings of any scent I've ever tried. It is hyper-rich, fresh, green, ultra smooth and radiant. A 10/10 opening. The drydown is great still (9/10), but the opening is where it's at. Overall, it's an absolute work of art and I must source a bottle of the pre-formulation juice. It's sad what is happening to the industry in general, with cost-cutting and the banning of aroma chemicals (some justified, some questionable), we'll have nothing decent left soon. To the previous reviewer, I'm convinced you're wearing a new version, new packaging etc. It's almost a different perfume* to my nose. Try to get your nose on the old version, and you'll see what everyone means about performance, and you may also find it more magical, as I do. If I'm wrong and you're getting bad performance from the original formula, then I'm afraid I can't help you. On me it's MONSTROUS. *the new one smells like You Or Someone Like You by ELDO, whereas the orignal formula doesn't smell remotely like it. The mint is completely different in the new version, incorporating a cat-pissy, blackcurrant element that wasn't there before, and the resiny sweetness and orange blossom are completely gone, ergo it smells like a totally different perfume.

This is quite a unique scent profile. Smells like a jungle hut with banana leaves and moss after a bright minty slightly dry opening. I really do enjoy the scent but have to go light on the sprays unless in an outdoor setting. Think a greener more mossy creed Viking but replace the rose/pink pepper with a banana type gummy smell. In terms of smell and opening, it’s one of the best fragrances I own and have ever smelt. It is absolute beast mode and lasts all day - the fact I smell it for such a long period is why I only wear it once every few weeks. A top 5 Amouage and one of the best green scents out there. I bought 2 bottles incase it gets discontinued! 9.5/10

Beach Hut Man is a masterpiece, and is what niche perfumery should be all about. Nothing smells like this, sure it is mint forward, but this is pure natural mint, mint that is freshly taken off the plant and squashed, before settling into a nice green and woody base. Unapologetically masculine, with a medium to loud projection, and lasts all day. Not quite a beach Hut though, more like a Jungle Hut. It does not smell old fashioned to me, smells unique and expensive, but I can see why it may not be for the younger crowd or those who prefer sweeter smells. Smell: 11/10 Projection: 7.5/10 Longevity: 9/10 Value: 7/10 (If bought from a discounter)

You rented a Yacht to go the Beach but it crash landed in the Jungle. Where ever you look you only see green. You're trying to make your way through the dense jungle with machete in your hand. The smell of the freshly cut leaves are mixing in with your sweat and is creating this concoction that somehow is strong yet comforting. After hours of walking you find a river and decide to wash your sweat away. The smell of the green still lingers but now it's more subtle with a hint of sweetness. While taking a bath you find few locals filling up their water jugs and you decide to follow them to their Beach Hut.

Beachy Encre Noire. If you're familiar with Encre Noire, you know it's like walking through a damp forest with tons of wet soggy leaves on the ground. Beach Hut Man is the same idea but instead of a forest in the mountains with soggy leaves, you're going through a rain forest with palm trees and moss, just off the coast of the ocean. Not what you'd expect from a fragrance but after the initial shock of smelling it for the first time, becomes incredibly addicting. Not blind but safe. But if you like the earthier, natural smelling fragrances, then this one is particularly well done. 9/10

This amazing fragrance is a long-lasting and potent green, spicy juice with a retro vibe. It’s unique and feels niche. The smell stays pretty linear on my skin, I get mint, moss, vetiver, and a spicy kick from start to end. It has its own distinct character and feels ultra masculine. It reminds me of what men used to smell like when I was a kid, and I love that. The performance is incredible. I sprayed it in the morning after showering and it was still going when I showered the day after! I find this to be versatile AF, you could rock this dressed up or down, any season !

Just tried Beach Hut Man today and I’m hooked. It opens with a bright, green freshness that feels almost citrusy, thanks to mint and galbanum. As it settles, a clean, soapy barbershop vibe emerges, classic yet modern. The blend of orange blossom, mint, and vetiver feels both fresh and refined. It is green, fresh and woody at the base, with a hint of myrrh’s resinous sweetness. Imagine a windswept beach hut, salty air, greenery, and a touch of vintage cologne. Not your typical beach or summer scent. More like a barbershop by the jungle. Definitely Amouage.

So I just got my nose on this for the first time, and it’s very very similar to eau sauvage Parfum 2017, just with mint, so it is slightly freshly. I already have eau sauvage Parfum, so is it redundant... mmmm I’ll have to see, so far I really like it. I’ll have to see how it changes or if it changes throughout this wear. Edit. There is definitely some differences between the 2. Beach hut man is more complex. The openings are different, the Vetiver is very similar in both. Once you get the myrh dry down with the patchouli in beach hut man, oof good stuff.

I never blind buy....ever. Well, this one time I made an exception with Beach Hut Man as the notes listed and many reviews made me not want to wait for samples to become available and when one of my online sites I buy from showed it back in stock, I jumped on a 100ml. I am not disappointed. Fresh mint to start but with subtle accords, perhaps a suggestion of some kind of incense, a bit of moss later on, and aromatic wood combined in a unique way. Summer daytime, sitting under a pergola on a sunny 85F day, enjoying a basil mojito.

The first time I sampled this I didn’t like it and thought it was too grassy. You really need to take time with Amouage though. Recently took a chance on an I batch full bottle from an discounter and I love it now. I get a minty spicy orange earthy scent with ivy that dries down to a beautiful powdery, very green vetiver with woods and myrrh. This is a summer freshie that’s non sunscreen or plasticky, Blended perfectly, 4 seasons wearable and definitely summer safe and it’s LOUD. 3 sprays gave me more than 8 hours.

Beach Hut Man is a beautiful, complex, and powerful green fragrance. Despite the name, it is not a typical aquatic/beach fragrance. A better name would be something like Jungle Hut Man. The mint, ivy, and galbanum hit hard right from the start. As it dries down the vetiver, moss, myrrh and patchouli come out and it becomes wonderfully smooth. You will not smell like anyone else when wearing this. Performance is very good as is typical of Amouage. This has become my Springtime signature scent. Not blind buy safe.

Wearing this today and I’m on hour 10 and this thing is still working. Went to the gym 1 hour ago and caught waffs of the scent as I moved around. Such a great fragrance and I’m glad I still have a half bottle left so I’ll be using sparingly. I will say this works well for the older gentleman it’s a man’s man fragrance not for the younger group. Oh and by the way, got several compliments today at work and that was about hour 3 after applying this morning. Great fragrance and thanks for reading

Something is not reconciling with my experience of BHM and those comments below calling it weak. I bought my bottle in 2025 (probably from Jomashop or Olfactory or something like that) and the LAST thing I would call it is weak. This stuff is a magnificent beast that is #1 in hot weather. This is quintessential Amouage. Amouage at its best. I'm not going to bother to write 200 words on this but again, IMO this is another masterpiece (YES, masterpiece) by Amouage. 10/10 all day long.

I loved this so much when I first got it, I probaly overdosed on it to the point of getting sick of it. So I left it alone for many months, then decided to try it on a recent trip to the Dominican and came to appreciate and love it all over again. I think it's best to keep it for warm/hot weather when you are in the open air, and even then be careful of the sprays. It is super powerful so buyer beware. I can't wait to use this a lot more often when it gets hot out again.

To the person below saying it smells like a fougere but lavender replaced with mint is spot on lol this is a wonderful scent, I keep holding it off bc in the cooldown it smells alot like bongiorno by aqcua di parma, but this is slightly more "amouage" meaning it has that labdanum that is just present in plenty of their scents, anyways if you want smth minty and lasts you the entire day, this would be the move. Dry down is still minty and woody, its really great.

Took a chance and blind bought it. I personally love green fragrances, so it was a calculated risk. Either way, it worked out great for me. On paper, the green notes are much sharper, but on skin, it mellows out significantly but becomes denser. The mint and vetiver notes blended together in a way that rounds out both. The woody heart notes are suppressed throughout, but it's still detectable at all times.

Wore this today 5-8-2025, compliments galore. Wish people would stop with the misleading information. This does not smell no where near Roja’s Apex. Apex has more of old style polo type swag. Apex has no mint like Beach Hut Man has. Beach Hut is more heavier on the green and minty side. Some people need to get their nostrils checked, I don’t understand what they think they’re smelling. Just saying🤷🏾♂️

I don’t know what people are talking about new batches being weak. I have a brand new 2026 bottle and this thing is so strong and long lasting. I absolutely love BHM. The green foliage is so realistic but doesn’t take over. Smells so clean and refreshing. There is something spicy in here that hints at a barbershop style, but it is certainly not a barbershop scent. I love this stuff so much.

Replace the lavender from a fougere with mint and what do you have? Beach Hut Man. This is a beautiful fragrance thats uplifting and full of life. In the dead of winter it will remind you of what is to come in a few months. Fougeres are my favorite genre and this ranks high amongst them. It has excellent performance as well! I can't wait to try this in the heat. 8.75/10

This smells not like the ocean, but like the strange salty funk of objects washed ashore. Like turning over a piece of driftwood, and unearthing an old fishing net tangled in seaweed. Like unwashed hair the morning after a swim. It's fascinating how the mint note simultaneously brings to mind seaweed, but also smells very fresh and clean. This is definitely a favorite.

This is a love for me. Green, soapy, aromatic, and woody. Was not expecting to get so many compliments wearing this, as it's not really a mass appeal scent profile, but I've received a LOT. Fantastic staying power, and on the stronger side of moderate sillage wise. Signature scent worthy daily driver, and a great work fragrance if you keep the sprays light. 9.2/10

Phenomenal. Bitter (but still pleasant) opening. The sharpness of the ivy fades after a few minutes and then the warmth of the base (I'm smelling light resins + coumarin) balances everything out, combining with the greenness of the mint to give an "exotic barbershop" vibe that I love. Excellent performance, too. One of the best scents I've encountered thus far.

I'll preface this by saying that I love green fragrances and this is at the very top of my list in that category. Incredibly modern, fresh, professional, distinct. This smells like a modern CEO's secluded jungle office with a sauna and waterfall/garden inside the office. Slightly bitter, very fresh green spicy, airy but with a ton of depth. Money.

I’ve commented on this jewel in the past. I’ve come to the conclusion that there’s mens fragrances and then it’s BEACH HUT MAN!! Nothing compares and nothing even comes close to smelling like this, they’ve tried but still can’t touch it. It’s the best, compliments off the chain. As matter of fact this will be my fragrance of the day.

This is fougere in disguise - with beautiful mint top note instead of lavender. After mint mellows out the classic coumarin sweetness blooms, alongside patchouli, moss and vetiver. For me the first hour is the best, drydown is more or less standard manly fougere, just greener. Monster parameters.

This is an absolutely MEGA fragrance. Of my 15 Amouage fragrances, this is number 3, from top to bottom. So you'll ask, why number 3 if it's so good, and I'll tell you only because Overture leads by miles, followed by Royal Tabaco. You'll discount Beach Hut Man at your peril. Pure love.

The name is misleading, not what you expect for a fragrance with "beach" in its name. Minty opening, strong herbal (and uplifting) dry down and then the long base of warm woods. A very green fragrance, but in a complex way that you'd welcome from a $300+ niche. Unexpected and welcomed.
