Decision

We have another one from Amouage today, and this time it's Decision, a fragrance that the brand says represents "the paradox that lies at the core of all life's most powerful decisions: it is focused on its goal while remaining open to countless possibilities." It's a bit of a confusing statement, but the idea seems to be having a clear goal while remaining adaptable in how you reach it. With that out of the way, let's see if Amouage achieved its own goal of making a great fragrance. The opening of Decision is one of the most nostalgic I've ever experienced in perfumery. It starts with a lightly sparkling pink pepper, a sweet touch of cardamom, and a wonderfully crisp, piney, almost gin-like aroma from the juniper berries. The bergamot is there too, though more as a subtle hint of citrus peel than a bright citrus blast. Even from the first spray, you can tell there's a resinous depth waiting underneath it all. Almost instantly, it brought back memories of walking through holiday light displays as a kid, or simply spending Christmas in an old wooden house. It's the smell of fresh pine filling warm wooden rooms, with the cold winter air just outside. It's incredibly evocative, and honestly one of the most unique openings I've smelled in quite some time. Around the 20 to 30-minute mark, the frankincense and myrrh begin to emerge, deepening the fragrance with a rich, comforting resinous character. Rather than changing the direction of the scent, they reinforce that Christmas atmosphere established in the opening. Historically, frankincense and myrrh are perhaps most famous for their appearance in the biblical Nativity story, where they were presented as gifts to the infant Jesus by the Magi. That connection makes their role here feel especially fitting alongside the fragrance's Christmas atmosphere. By the hour-and-a-half to two-hour mark, Decision settles into its base. Earthy patchouli carries the fragrance forward, while soft cedarwood adds a dry, refined woodiness. A cool, almost "cold" vanilla smooths everything together. It's not the warm, dessert-like vanilla you might expect, but one that softens the composition without taking away from its fresh, resinous character. Now, this isn't going to be a fragrance for everyone. Some people will say, "Amouage is going mainstream with this one," while others have criticized the decision (pun intended) to follow up Purpose with Purpose 50 and then Decision over the span of just a couple of years. With three Quentin Bisch fragrances with noticeable Akigalawood undertones arriving in that timeframe, comparisons were pretty much inevitable. And honestly, those criticisms are fair. But as with any fragrance, technical comparisons and creative direction only tell part of the story. Fragrance is deeply personal because our memories are deeply personal. What smells cold or unusual to one person can feel nostalgic and comforting to someone else. That's exactly what happened with Decision. It took me somewhere I hadn't thought about in years, and that's an experience I can't put a price on. Whatever the wider conversation around Decision may be, it connected with me in a way very few fragrances do. For me, it couldn't have landed much better.

This will be a longer review because I'm feeling the need to express my thoughts not just on Decision, but the recent releases of Amouage and the community's response to it. To start my brief "review" I would like to quote a phrase attributed to Theodore Roosevelt. The phrase is the following: "Comparison is the thief of joy" which struck and sticks with me whenever I read a review here or on any other fragcom site about the newer releases of Amouage, especially the super recent ones. As someone who is not an OG I cannot talk about how Amouage was back in the non-magnetic cap bottle days or how strong their fragrances were back at that time. As someone who is deeply indulged in the perfumes of Amouage I can see why many of the fellow Amouage fans deem the Christopher Chong era as the golden age of Amouage. I can also see why they are frustrated with the current direction where the brand is heading. To refer back to Roosevelt's phrase, I feel that the constant comparison is what makes the newer Amouage fragrances viewed negatively, mainly by the devoted Amouage fans who are deeply love the Chong era's creations. The brand clearly shifted its direction and we can either accept and appreciate this new direction or we can quietly say that these newer fragrances don't hit the Chong era's mark for me and they are not for me. On to the point of my experiences and thought about Decision. For me this is not a "lesser, more mainstream Amouage" but "an Amouage which serves a different purpose" in my rotation. Decision is a fragrance which was my upgrade from Dior Sauvage as my nose became more well-trained and my interest and taste in fragrance evolved. Decision and Sauvage do not have any similarities in smell, but they serve a similar purpose in my fragrance wardrobe, being "an easy to reach for, semi-signature, all year around (minus super big heat) scent". When I first smelled Decision it reminded me something quite familiar, but I had to take some time to figure out what it reminded me of. Finally, I came to the conclusion that Decision is Bisch's take on the Ganymede/Bois Imperial style for Amouage which is more focused in the incense and juniper sharpness of the opening than the above mentioned two's metallic and green edges/sharpness. Decision starts with a citrusy-spicy opening which remains for not a long time, then the scent turns into a composition of woods and incense with the above mentioned slight sharpness from the juniper berries. In the late dry down the fragrance turns into a vanillic-woody-incense scent which I find highly addicting. As for performance it easily reaches 14-16 hours on my skin and stays for days on clothes. Projection is fairly strong for the first 2 hours, and after that it radiates around arms length creating a nice cozy scent bubble for the 8 hour mark on my skin. All of this was produced with 3 sprays so I do not reckoned to spray it more than 5 times (even if you are an oversprayer). I consider Decision to be a fairly approachable scent for the masses as well, so I think that with the correct number of sprays this is a super school safe scent.

Amouage are my favourite niche house and this is one of my favourite discoveries from them. Decision is an easier reach and a more versatile wear than almost anything else in their lineup. Yet it feels very much of that house; very "Amouage" in the way it feels. I'd say if you were someone new to niche, Decision should be the first one you try because it'll tell you everything you need to know about this house but without the Old Testament shock and awe drama they are famous for. You know what you are getting with Outlands, Purpose and the Interludes. They are clear about what they are and how you would wear them. They have their niche; they have their moment. They are proudly too good to wear every day. These wondrous creations are special because you need to understand fragrance a bit to appreciate them properly and wear them correctly. They are epic power and glory in fragrance form. But sometimes you don't need thunder, lightning and visits from your maker when you spray your fragrance. Decision is much easier. It has that signature cardamom note in the opening that isn't like the one we see in Outlands and is more akin to the one we see in R45. The incense is more gentle than the Cathedral-like wafts we get from Purpose, Guidance and Interlude, but is more central to Decision's overall feel. I feel like the frankincense and myrrh combo here is less of a religious experience than we see in Black Iris. The juniper berries and patchouli and especially the gorgeous bergamot and pink pepper notes in the top of Decision feel more subtle but also more distinct than others from this house. The spiced sweetness in the base feels almost honeyed, but is never cloying or sticky. It is very Amouage but a bit different at the same time. Similar DNA, same style; different execution. I remember thinking when I tried it last year that this was as close to a daily wearer as I'd found until that point from the luminary Omani house of fragrant opulence, and I was right about that. For me only Reflection Man and possibly Meander get close to its universal, crowd-pleasing appeal that also gives you all the complexity, power and interest but is easy enough to wear with anything, for anything, at any time of day, any season, anywhere. I cannot imagine anyone ever disliking this. It isnt a freshie. But it is a typically hedonistic and beautifully-blended take on what a day to day dumb reach freshie might be like, if the Omani Sultan needed a really, really impressive one. Make no mistake here, Decision is really impressive. It is a hyper-refined niche fragrance that feels like a reward for those of us on our niche discovery journey. I cannot imagine ever being without this one. Three Word Summary: The Royal Daily Outfit Suggestion: dark blue jeans, GMT on the wrist, crisp white shirt, suede belt, casual suede loafers and Dita sunglasses. Decision is a grounding and contemplative woody aromatic scent. In my opinion, it's Bisch's own take on Jubilation XXV and I'll explain how and why. What i noticed with this and Existence is that it seems Amouage gave Bisch the green light to drift the company as far away as he can from Chong's Picasso like abstract, overly complex and multilayered compositions. It seems the direction in those two was: Clear and easily understandable scents that reflect exactly the listed olfactory notes, with no hidden "fees". For some people, this could mean "simplicity", but not for me. This is still Amouage quality from top to bottom. If anything, the notes now seem to manifest more clearly, because as i mentioned, the quality is still there. Decision on my skin starts with a blast of juniper. It's piney and dry with a gin-like freshness. This note literally carries the whole scent throughout most of its evolution. Along the juniper, there is a very well balanced and carefully blended smoky incense. The composition somehow feels "compressed", as if it's pulling you in its own bubble of smell and showing you its own world, almost like visiting someone's house for the first time. Nothing "spiky", overly spicy or obnoxious here. Very smoothly blended. Things start to get very interesting though after a few hours, when vanilla and myrrh take a step forward. The mix of those two with the gin-like freshness of the juniper and the incense immediately gave my nose flashbacks of the infamous blackberry-incense combo in Jubilation XXV. I don't know why and how, but it does, and i certainly trust my nose :) The vanilla and the myrrh are exquisitely well blended and balanced. It's not the obnoxious overly sweet vanilla and it's not that sticky overly ambery sometimes annoying myrrh. It almost seems like there is a threshold going on in this scent for things not to cross the line and stay balanced. This is the reason why i mentioned the word "compressed" earlier. The Jubilation XXV phase though eventually fades out, cedar takes over, the incense smoke is gone, and the scent becomes an exclusively cedar dominated woody scent until it fades on the skin. In my opinion, this is an excellent creation. A scent that invites you to revisit it again and again and again, until you finally make the DECISION to stay for good :)

Decision feels like Amouage stepping into a more modern direction without losing what makes the brand special. And, special thanks to Mr. Quentin Bisch for making this masterpiece. It still has that elegant incense signature, but everything here feels smoother, cleaner, and much easier to wear. Some people are saying, it has similarities with Purpose 50 which is not appreciating in my opinion. As, both are made by the same perfumer it is possible to get some similarities but I can't agree with them. For me,the opening is fresh and spicy with a cool almost icy feeling from the juniper and pink pepper. As it settles, the incense slowly comes in, but it’s airy and refined instead of dark or heavy. The dry down is where it really shines for me. The bonding of soft woods, creamy vanilla, and a slightly resinous warmth that smells incredibly polished. What I appreciate most is how effortlessly well blended it feels. Nothing sticks out too much. It smells confident and luxurious without screaming for attention. Performance is also very solid. Good projection for the first few hours and the scent stays on my clothes until the next day. Some people who expect the bold complexity of regular Amouage releases might find it a bit safer than others, however, I think that’s the beauty of it. It keeps the niche quality and character while being genuinely wearable in everyday life. To me, Decision smells like cold fresh air from desert at night which mixed with soft incense and smooth woods wrapped in a creamy vanilla base. Overall, it is elegant, calming, and quietly addictive. It’s definitely a 10/10 release from Amouage.

It like genuinely makes me emotional how beautiful this smells. There’s something almost overwhelming about it in the best way. It evokes a kind of pure grounded happiness in me that I wasn’t expecting at all. I nearly just teared up right now from smelling the atomizer of my tiny 2ml sample alone! At its heart it feels like glowing frankincense wrapped in smooth, almost creamy vanilla while a subtle thread of juniper adds this cool luminous lift that makes the entire composition feel literally magical. This is unlike anything I’ve encountered before. I thought I understood my taste. I thought I knew what I loved. And then I smelled this. It has completely shifted my perspective on fragrance and what it can be. This seriously changed everything for me.. nothing feels the same after experiencing it. This is art. This is intention. This is perfume with soul. For the first time I think I finally understand what it means for someone to have a true signature scent.. not just a current favorite, but something that feels intrinsically you. And this just might be that for me. Funny enough, there never really was a decision involved for me. I’ve never heard of the fragrance before one of the sales associates in Nordstrom casually handed me a tester strip. It felt more like fate. Like certainty. Like it chose me, not the other way around. I feel like there’s a whole new world of perfume waiting for me to explore... and I can’t wait! Greetings to the Fragrantica community and fragrance lovers around the world. After spending many years in this hobby and trying hundreds of fragrances, it becomes increasingly difficult for a new release to leave a strong impression on me. Most fragrances today remind me of something I have already experienced before. Decision was one of the exceptions. The composition itself is not extremely complicated. I get a bright and clean bergamot opening supported by frankincense, while vanilla and amber in the base give the fragrance a smooth and comforting character. Everything feels polished and very well balanced. What I enjoy most is the atmosphere this fragrance creates. It has a clean and uplifting quality that I find myself returning to again and again. There is something in the combination of citrus, incense, and soft sweetness that feels both energetic and calming at the same time. I know that many fragrances are technically more complex, darker, or more challenging. Decision is not trying to be any of those things. Instead, it focuses on doing one thing very well: creating a feeling of clarity and positivity. For me, this is one of those fragrances that stays in my memory even when I am not wearing it. Sometimes I find myself thinking about the scent long after it has faded from my skin, which is something that rarely happens these days. I am not saying this is the best fragrance I have ever owned, but it is certainly one of the most enjoyable fragrance experiences I have had in recent years.

One reason why I don't like Amouage perfumes is because they make all the other perfumes smell ordinary. I was doing just fine. I had a good collection. Some real good stuff in there that I was really proud of owning. And one fine day I stumbled upon Amouage Decision. I tried it. I loved it. I came back home to my perfume rack, looked at all my perfumes and announced, "You're all not good enough". Waited for a month thinking about Amouage Decision. Finally bought it from a stand alone Amouage store. 1500 bucks in my currency spent well. By now you've read enough reviews about the notes and performance. I know you know that it's a perfect 10 on 10. But I'll tell you something that no one has told you yet. Amouage Decision is a gateway to the world of finer perfumery. As a matter of fact any Amouage perfume is. I am a fan their creations. The bottle design is simple because the perfume inside is complex, in a very likeable way. TRUE STORY: I came back home early from office once day. My relative walked in 20 mins later and asked if I was at home. Why? Because they relate this perfume to me and could smell it in the elevator. Nuff said. Buy if your taste in perfumes is already elevated from the designer perfumes. Nothing in wrong in liking designer perfumes. Enjoy them till you can because house of Amouage is going ruin them for you forever. :) SUGGESTION: Try their Purpose or Purpose 50, Beach Hut (for a fresh but heavy perfume) and Interlude.

I love this scent, it's in my top 3-5 at all times. I read the previous review with interest, especially the wish for “more zing” in the top and the description of Decision as a “background scent.” I understand that reaction - but I also think it’s exactly where this fragrance quietly succeeds. What some perceive as a lack of zing strikes me as intentional restraint. The opening is not meant to sparkle or dazzle; it clarifies. It’s brisk, aromatic, and composed rather than electrifying. For me, that makes it wearable in a way many modern niche releases are not. It doesn’t ask for attention, but it grounds you. The comparison to Purpose 50 is indeed interesting. I agree that Decision does not smell like Purpose at all in a literal sense, but I think people reach for that reference because both share a similar posture: linear, upright, non-performative. They occupy a similar ethical space in perfumery - calm authority rather than spectacle. That alone already sets Decision apart in a crowded field. And I love it because it stays with you rather than around you. There’s no dramatic twist or showy dry-down, and that may indeed feel boring if one expects constant evolution. But there’s something quietly confident about a perfume that knows when to stop speaking. 10/10 for me.

One poorly punctuated run on sentence that doesn’t describe anything about the fragrance is not a review and it’s exactly what’s wrong with this website. Amouage is selling better than ever, so maybe the die hards should just die already and spare us their unqualified snobbery. Decision is a complex fresh fragrance that is surprisingly sweet and creamy. Bergamont and vanilla are the stars of the show, accented with green nuances in the opening and amber woods dry down. Spices add a nice complexity without ever overtaking the composition. Smelled blind it smelled a bit like pineapple and cinnamon over a creamy vanilla base, something I’ve noticed in other bergamont vanilla fragrances like Electimuss Imperium. Performance is very good, I could still smell it the next morning. It seems quite versatile but its density and sweetness might be cloying in high heat for some. Complex and modern, Decision maintains the brands identity while being a very wearable approachable fragrance. If you are in the majority of people who actually like Amouage’s more recent releases it is very much worth a test. I expect it will sell well and be yet another feather in Bish’s cap.

The Fragrance of Clarity This is a stunning composition. My journey with this scent began this past January at the Amouage boutique in New York. Given the investment these fragrances require, I wanted to experience them in person rather than risking a blind buy. Of the seven test strips I sampled that day—featuring several of the house's latest releases—three immediately stood out. One of those was Decision. What strikes me most is how surprisingly wearable it is. It carries a sophisticated presence without ever feeling heavy. The opening offers a bright, fleeting burst of bergamot that transitions quickly into a refined heart of pink pepper and cardamom. As it settles, the fragrance reveals a beautiful core of frankincense and cedarwood. A subtle touch of berry and vanilla provides just enough sweetness to keep the scent approachable and balanced. It is a truly unique olfactory experience; I haven't encountered anything quite like it. The entire composition is masterfully blended, with the heart and base notes seemingly "dancing" together throughout the duration of the dry down. This fragrance was kind of a Decision. I love it!

Amouage Decision currently has me in a choke hold. It's everything you would expect from Amouage. They are the definition of niche fragrances. Decision takes me to a place I've never been but would absolutely love to be. It's more than just a fragrance, its an experience. This will not be for everyone but if you love Amouage, you will love this. It's bright, yet the woodiness gives it a dark contrast. The masters of frankincense in perfumery, it is done perfectly making this a masterpiece of a concoction. There is a slight medicinal scent to it that may turn people off but when I smell this, it brings me down to earth and changes my mood. It is a very confident fragrance and you need to be confident to wear it. Definitely masculine. This has currently taken over as my favorite fragrance in my collection. Longevity is phenomenal and projection is tremendous without being overbearing. 10/10 is thrown around a lot, but for me, this is exactly what a 10 should be.

Amouage's Decision by Quentin Bisch is a captivating fragrance that is unique but also mass appealing. A bright hook with addictive resinous heart lifted up by citrus, cardamom, and juniper berries. This would definitely be an excellent signature scent choice. The dry down is lovely with this earthy patchouli and vanilla-woods that keeps my nose returning to the spray points. I can see why many love this fragrance as it is both contemporary and beautifully blended with high quality materials. I'll be a little critical in my review of this fragrance by saying that I feel decision is a more approachable, less complex iteration of Purpose 50. I feel as though Decision is a distinct fragrance by Quentin Bisch but I would have to make the claim that Purpose 50 is a much more artistic fragrance creation from Bisch that makes a bigger statement and has tremendous performance/presence in comparison to Decision. Both are amazing fragrances when all said and done.

@Logan Laine nailed it. Frankincense flavored creamy vanilla ice cream on a cold white marble counter, with gold flakes sprinkled on top. That's exactly right especially with that autumn breeze passing through it all. It's great, but is it my favorite Amouage? No. Is among the most versatile from the house? Yes. I have all Amouage fragrances except the newest Essences ones, like Remain and such. This is in the top 5, believe me I had to bump things like Meander, Search, and Honour Man to accommodate this one at the 5th place, and that was hard. BTW Versatile doesn't mean weak...this is a strong one. And while I was wearing Ganymede earlier today, I like this one way more, and it's way stronger and higher quality. I mention this as a Bisch as a perfumer reference only, not a scent profile reference. Nothing smells like it, so don't bother looking for alternatives, there aren't any.

This has quietly become my go-to fragrance these days. Morning, evening, office, casual... it honestly doesn't matter. It just works. Brilliant perfumery by a true master craftsman, feels incredibly personal to me, captures my personality, passion, and everything I love about perfumery. My absolute favorite part is the green Hojari frankincense accord. There's something magical about it. It smells exactly like opening a traditional incense pouch filled with fresh green Hojari resin and taking that very first deep breath. Pure bliss. To me, Decision sits right on the border between the Christopher Chong era and Amouage's modern direction. But why should I hold onto any nostalgic attachment to the past when creations like this exist today? Great perfumery is great perfumery, regardless of the era. Love, love... and just love. 100/10. ❤️

I've disliked every fragrance I've smelt from Bisch. And then, he had to come out with this. Decision, although not the most daring in the Amouage catalogue, is just pure bliss. Wearable in any situation, it is an excellent scent. It's linearity actually has been slowly pushing it to the top of my favourites for the house. Where other fragrances show their complexity in the development of the scent over time, I actually prefer the straight line that Decision takes. It knows what it wants to be and whole heatedly commits to it (I guess this is connected with the naming). It isn't a simple designer linearity though, there is a uniqueness to the scent that does elevate its profile. I can see this breaking through my triumvirate of Jubilation XXV, Gold Man, and Memoir Man to become one of my top 3 fragrances from the house. 10/10

Just because this is very pleasant and easy to enjoy does not make it smell “mainstream” “boring” or “unimaginative” This is perhaps one of the most versatile scents ever, it’s perfectly unisex, perfect for any weather, you can dress it up or down. At the same time it still stands out and leaves a strong, unique impression. The sillage is out of this world, addictive, alluring and strong. What’s cool about this is it’s kind of a thin, light transparent scent profile yet it’s still extremely strong and potent somehow. A beast mode freshie is exactly what it is. I wasn’t captured when I first sprayed it, I thought it was overrated but after about 45 minutes I couldn’t believe how incredibly distinct and interesting it had become whilst maintaining an undeniable mass appeal.

Do you want to smell like God embodied? Then get this. Clean incense. Like plumes of whitr incense smoke that somehow seem to be burning perfectly clean. Instead of dirty smoke, clean powder. Like you're in some ethereal perfect world where nothing dirty can exist. I get vibes of some billionaire in white gowns overlooking the sea in a sterile, perfect apartment in California. Performance wise, it's unreal. Not in some ridiculous beast mode way, almost like you're carrying incense sticks that burn long and slow for 10hrs, slowly whipping around in the air surrounding you. I don't often review but this thing blew me away. I bought 6 months ago but now that it's spring, the weather is perfect for it and it's become my number 1.

You don't wear Decision, it is declared. The opening is clear and concise; pink pepper and dazzling bergamot set the tone, but it is when the frankincense and juniper come in, that a crisp resinous decree is made. The perfume pushes on determinedly, with hints of patchouli and amber. It has a resinous burnt quality with dry juniper giving it an almost clinical and precise feel. The bottle stands perfectly white washed like a Greek statue, containing masterful craftmanship and history, but presented in a timeless, neat, polished art form. I love this and is perfect for aficionados as well as more casual perfume lovers. This is Amouge but sharper. It is a decision, cast into stone and then heated until it becomes vapour.

Amouage Decision is truly incredible. Aside from smelling awesome, it is also one of the most unique fragrances in my collection so far. It still has that frankincense, which is very Amouage-like. Then, it has some fruity (I'm guessing from those juniper berries?), spicy, piney, smoky, and resinous aspects that make it more enjoyable to me. It also has that slight sweetness from the vanilla, but the star of the show is still that frankincense + juniper + myrrh + cardamom. It also performs extremely well. It is versatile enough to be worn anytime and almost anywhere. It was a blind buy. Stupid, I know... But I just knew that I was gonna love it the moment I saw those notes. Can't wait to test it more extensively!

Decision is like rare stones and dry woods under the sun, but these are gigantic megalithic stones, rare trees, minerals and resins heated under the sun of ancient times. Immutable but transformative under time and space. Nature gets together and creates an aura of cleansing, clarity, and strength. This perfume is both calm and enticing. It reminds me of the vacation home I had in my adolescence in South America, where we had a very unique national park. It evokes the natural and untouched land and the beauty of earth, and the cozy and warm wooden cabin made of dark brown wood we slept in. It smells dry, woody, mystical and natural, but high end.

This is my second favourite Amouage ever. You can really tell it’s by Quentin Bisch—he’s one of my favourite perfumers, and I love his incense signature. Decision opens slightly sweet, with noticeable citrus, Vanilla and cardamom. In the heart, you get a little fruity and tart from the berries and the resins, frankincense, and myrrh—and I can actually pick up the different nuances between the myrrh and the olibanum, which shows the quality of the ingredients as well. The drydown turns ambery but still feels fresh and zingy, tart. It’s kind of delicious and addictive, and you get that Bisch DNA all the way through. I love this one!”

This scent is truly like no other. It makes me picture myself in an all black suit walking on a boardwalk somewhere in the middle east at night. So rich and oriental, yet still really captivating to the point where I have it on my must buy list. It is ideal for special case scenarios such as dates or events. I would not daily use it as it is quite overbearing for that, and would give others in a work enviroment a hard time. I tested it with 3 other fragrances and while sitting down, the perfume still radiated from my hand to my nose. I believe it certainly is worth a try, if you are looking for a statement fragrance.

Got a sample. 6 hours later i crave to shower in this godlike juice. So damn delicious, i just must own it. Longe lasting but just in that sweet spot of having perfect controlled projektion. Edit: strong projektion the first 3 hours. The next 2 hours 30 min comfy sent bubble at an arms length. when you hit that 6 hour mark i can still get nice whifs of it. When you hit that 8-10 hour mark it is a skin sent, and have to snort your skin to smell it. Unless you go to the gym in the end and get super heat on it, it you can still get a little fix out of the last remaining oils on your skin.

One thing i learned with amouage fragrances, is that they're not very consistent with their batches. i had a decant of this which i got soon after its release, like about a month or two after, it had a much stronger incense and frankincense note to it. i decided to pull the trigger recently and got myself a full bottle from amouage themselves, the performance isn't bad, but something about it feels different than the decant i had, it smells a bit toned down and softer. either way still a really good scent, but i just wish amouage were more consistent with the batches they bring out.

There is nothing about this that smells of sauteed onions. My sample is from fragrance line and this is a wonderfully done incense fragrance that actually smells somewhat uplifting. It's very nice and smells of money and sophistication. If I were coaching someone on when to wear this - not anywhere too close indoors strongly and when you want to communicate wealth and status while being slightly middle east in your approach. This is very good. It's going to come down to overall taste. If you want my opinion I still think reflection man and jubilation man is better given the prices.

Oh my goodness. My explanation won’t do this any justice, but just know that this is a legitimate masterpiece. I will try my best to describe this perfume. It smells like purpose, but much less “old pirate ship and explosion of spices”. It’s smoother, creamier, more “cold”. It doesn’t smell metallic, but it has the same cold and metallic texture of metal. This is purpose’s more wearable, less artistic, and more “socially acceptable” brother. Both are 10/10, and both are worth having. They’re not entirely similar, but you can tell they both share an akigalwood base.

I just copped a bottle of Sunshine Man and Amouage was running a free 7.5 mini deal with the purchase of a 100ml....so I chose Decision as my mini. In my opinion- Bottom line - if you like vanilla this is worth sampling. Creamy, almost Madagascar vanilla that’s aromatic and backed by woods and incense. I can’t describe it as well as the person below me did but this is a fantastic fragrance. And man it is strong. I’d call this very office safe but this is also a fragrance I’d wear out to be noticed. Truly magical. For context, it is nothing like Amouage Purpose. Where Purpose feels like a futuristic, eco-sci-fi cathedral, this is deeply traditional, soulful, and sacred.

Decision is perhaps the most captivating fragrance in the entire Odyssey collection—a true standout. It’s a harmony of contrasts: fresh yet warm, bright yet calming, sharp yet grounded. When I apply Decision to my clothes, it's one of my favorite scents of all time. However when I apply it to my skin, a couple hours in, this really annoying sort of sour smell starts to come out and it's pretty bothersome. I just avoid putting it on my skin and everything is fine. I wore decision in a thunderstorm on a warm night and something about it was very fitting, every time I wear it I think about getting drenched by the rain which is not a bad thing.

Ive always trying to find a niche frags that is unique yet smooth for special occassion or signature scent and Amouage Decision is my number 1 go to safe yet luxury frags. I sprayed it on my skin and it stays even I washed it or take a bath. Such concentration and my mood was lifted with this smell. All the notes are accurate and the drydown was super smooth vanilla with slight woody spice notes that really smells great even after 12h++.

This is the ultimate summer fragrance. It has an incredible projection and exceptional longevity. If you appreciate the bold and luxurious character of Amouage fragrances, this one belongs in the same league. It leaves a memorable trail that people notice from several meters away. In a collection full of great perfumes, this is the one that dominates the room—once it's on, every other fragrance seems to disappear.

Decision smells like citrus fruit gummies (from the bergamont and juniper) combined with pine tree sap (from the pepper and myrrh). Frankincense and vanilla lingers in the background to provide the underlying canvas. The overall texture is dry and clean. Very safe scent profile, very mass appealing. I disagree with the ratings on performance, it's good, but it's definitely not beast mode.

For me this is maybe the best Amouage out there, even tho it reminds me a bit of Purpose 50 it is, in my honest opinion, a better version of it, the incense is a bit creamier thanks to the vanilla base. The incesnse is very well done lik the rest of incensy Amouage fragrances. To sum up the best way to describe this fragrance is drinking a vanilla gin in a church’s courtyard.

For me this is a 11/10 it just works and quality is top tier. I feel i can wear this anywhere but still feel special. It feels neice while being likeable by normal people. The plebs will not scream at you, at work to wash this off. Like the mistake i made when wearing Royal Tobacco at work, or oud. Which i get bc that is really not for everyone, but i love it.

One word If you like frankincense that has been cooled down by a breeze of citrus you will like this otherwise don’t waste your time and money to even try it this is for someone who wants to go to church mosque or synagogue and just have something spiritual on for all my freshie lovers stay away from this 7 poeple out of 10 made them try it they all hated it

People have to stop looking at notes and deciding that’s what they smell. There is UNDOUBTEDLY akigalawood in here. Super prominent. Almost as prominent as in purpose/ganymede. I’ve seen countless people say that they like this solely because it “doesn’t have” akigalawood. That’s how I know they’re just reading notes and not sitting with the perfume

Wow I loved this from the opening to the dry down true masterpiece great longetivity It lasted for whole day n my skin although I took a bath the sillage is strong but not beast mode as purpose 50 which makes it. Very mass appealing non offensive people can recognize my scent without being bothered 10/10 good one Quentin bisch you always amaze us

A soft and not complex perfume. In the 1st 15 minutes reminds me of a milkier Nishane Ani, and then turns to a solid sweet masculine scent. Last more than 7 hours. But i can understand how the old Amouage fan will not like this. Lack of complexity, leans to what the market wants. Well, thats life, whatever sells its the most important these days

This is what I imagine Katie’s house from Paranormal Activity to smell like.. sterile white noise, charred ouija boards, and creamy frankincense to ward off lingering spirits 👻 This is a compliment of the highest regard btw lmao. Absolutely love when I make connections like this with fragrance. If you get it you get it MICAHHHHHH!!!!

For me, it starts off pretty reminiscent of Purpose 50. Within five minutes this one starts to open up and the divergence begins. Notes of pepper, patchouli, vanilla and a strong dose of myrrh combine beautifully to create a warm, spicy, slightly funky - and yes, medicinal - luminous purr. It is quite unique, and pleasingly so.

This one is really good, a fresh start that dries down to a fluffy/thick vanilla/myhrr/incense-cloud The only complaint, it may a bit too strong despite me liking perfumes with great performance, this thing just last and last and last. My sample leaked into my toilet bag and now my whole hotel room smells of it, for days!

It's an interesting mix of fresh and sweetness at the same time, would definitely turn people's heads wondering what you have on. Performance wise this is a beast of a fragrance.. lasted whole day on my arm with a noticeable projection for the first few hours! Only downside is the price point..

Wow! Signature scent worthy for an executive who is mature, exudes calm confidence and very sophisticated. This fragrance is not loud or a room filler, more a pleasing scent bubble. It does remind me of Purpose, but toned down and more wearable. Masculine leaning and versatile. Shukran Habibi!

Wow....this lasts and lasts. The scent bubble is amazing. The frankincense is second none, its what you expect from Amouage. I definitely get the juniper berries too. Is it mainstream? Yes. Is it beautiful? Yes. Decision, Reflection 45 and Beach Hut Man. My personal favourites from the house.

This is one of my favorites in my collection. I visited Oman for a couple of weeks and I can say that this fragrance (along with purpose 50) is Oman in a bottle. This is Omani culture with the spicy frankincense and a creamy vanilla combo. Such a beautiful scent that you cant get enough of.
