Dia Woman

Dia Woman unquestionably strikes this perfume fiend's nose as a rethinking of Amouage's classic Gold Woman. Dia Woman's aldehydic florals are achingly familiar, with the rethinking going down the path of stripping down Gold Woman to create a fresher, lighter, and less grandiose character. Gold Woman was composed by Guy Robert in 1983. Him and that period in feminine perfumery were no strangers to big, loud, aldehydic florals of the classically French variety. Gold Woman had enormous silky smooth frankincense tendrils running throughout it, diva-esque muguet and rose and jasmine, powdery orris holding the signature texture throughout the perfume, plenty of animalics of the good ol' stinky variety, and real, aromatic woods. It was a bold perfume from beginning to end. To strip down a perfume like this Amouage contracted the services of the early 2000s master of fresh, light weight, ethereal, and luminous perfumes, Jean-Claude Ellena - who seemed to have every fragrance house knocking on his door to ask him to create one of these perfumes for them. The storied Omani brand was one of the lucky few to attach this commercial juggernaut's name to their release, and, sure enough, it smells like Ellena, and it smells like a fresh take on Gold Woman. Comparatively, key similarities and key differences are immediately noticeable in the opening. Dia Woman has a watery and slightly sweet floral character thanks to the cyclamen that is very similar to the muguet we got in Gold Woman. This is not an aquatic or ozonic perfume; do not think this. Instead, think of this as gentle, slightly sweet florals kissed by morning dew, cool and humid air hanging about their aromas in an early dawn. Fruit notes present in tandem with the florals, not as separate individuals, reminiscent of watery, green, and slightly sulfurous figs and gently lactonic peaches. Devotees of Gold Woman will immediately notice the absence of incense, a cornerstone of Dia's predecessor. Amouage and Ellena clearly felt that incense was not going to be conducive to the mandate of freshness, luminosity, and transparency, and instead filled that hole with earthy and green herbal notes of tarragon and sage, which work very well to help keep Dia earthy fresh and clean at the top. The floral heart layer in the original formulation was a continuation of the fruity florals from the top with jammy roses, creamy citrusy orange blossoms, and peony. Newer formulations seem to focus significantly more on the peony note, which, when paired with the rose, has a nearly citrusy jasmine like character. The floral heart in new formulations is quite green citrusy, a touch florally sweet, and lucidly bright thanks to the peony, with the rose acting as both anchor and plinth to keep it a bit closer to earth and to provide greater breadth. Similarly in the dry down, old and new formulations have differences. The original had more of an incense and woods presence, whereas new formulations focus more on soap musks and gentle vanilla with the woody notes playing far in the background. For these heart and base layer differences, Dia Woman is not as compelling as it once was but it is still beautiful and still beautifully done. It isn’t until Dia Woman is very nearly gone from your skin at the end of a long day do the woods and a bit of incense make themselves more apparent. The detractors and on-the-fence folks seem to have a tough time with one or both of two things: the first being that they are likely tired of aldehydic florals, and wonder why we need this one and question if it is sufficiently different to stand out in a crowded room; the second being that retooling/rethinking Gold Woman is sacrilege. Both are valid gripes, but I still have plenty of room for Dia Woman in my perfume cabinet in response to those criticisms. To the first, yes, we do not need another aldehydic floral with fruity notes and soap musks since they abound by the thousands, but you pick Dia Woman because it is an Amouage made by Jean-Claude Ellena. Amouage's dedication to high-quality materials in the hands of a perfumer who nearly single-handedly created the luminous, transparent, minimalist style at the turn of this century has produced a perfume that does stand out in a crowded room. It is one of the better modern aldehydic florals to come our way in the last couple of decades. To the second point, Gold Woman is no longer with us. I mean - yes - Amouage still make it but it is hardly anything like what it was in 1983 save for its massively loud and muscular character chock full of aldehydes. Even if Amouage wanted and could preserve Gold Woman exactly as it was made in 1983, does that mean they should never produce a more modern aldehydic floral? Of course not. Dia Woman is Amouage's alternative option for an aldehydic floral, when you want something modern, lighter weight, easier to wear, fresh, and plainly-and-simply pretty - regardless of whether you have an old or new formulation. Maybe it's too safe, maybe lacking a bit of the specialness we hope from Amouage, and maybe a bit derivative, but when I want to wear something like this I struggle to think of a modern perfume that does notably better or that I would prefer to wear more than Dia Woman. That's more than enough to convince me.

Two years ago when I got a voucher to Selfridges for my birthday for £50 there was one thing I knew for certain: the money were going towards a perfume and the perfume had to be Amouage (I need to add: at that time I only knew that Amouage was expensive, exclusive and DIFFERENT). SA showed me Honour, released in 2011 and sprayed on paper with a big smile - lovely white floral (I learnt that day: I don't like 'lovely white florals'). Next one was Reflection - but Reflection was too 'main stream' for me. Then Ciel. I liked Ciel so I sampled it on my wrist. Nice, but something was missing... SA dismissed Gold, Lyric, Memoir, Jubilation 25 and Epic as 'too oriental' for me: blond, fair skin. She spayed Ubar on paper, but I found it too heavy. And then, as if she was saving the best for the end she grabbed Dia and literally made me let her spray my other wrist with a massive smile 'you'll love that one'. I wanted to sniff it immediately but she didn't let me! 'Wait!' She talked about notes (orange blossom and fig making this fragrance special and unique). And then, after about 2-3 minutes she said: 'Now sniff'. So I did. 'And?' she enquired. 'It's... heavy, and totally different, and beautiful!'. She sprayed more on my wrist, and neck, and then she said: 'Now go, smell it after an hour, two, three. You will come back.' I couldn't stop smelling my wrist on the train back home. I was smiling to myself. She was right: I did go back to buy it few days later. Now: whenever aldehydes are mentioned the perfume that comes to mind immediately is Chanel no5. It's the fizzy, soapy overwhelming top note. But that's exactly where the minimal similarity ends! Dia is nothing like No5. Dia is so much softer, so much more refined than no5. So much more classy and modern. I mentioned that before: I'm not great with notes so I won't even attempt to describe what I smell. But I absolutely love the dry down. It's sensual but not sexual, it's calm but not quiet, it's mysterious and yet you feel like you almost revealing too much. And I have no idea why but to me it smell like 'sunny, bright, hot color white', whatever that means... I'm so glad I got that voucher two years ago. I'm so glad this SA was so nice, enthusiastic and helpful. And two years later I'm so happy to know all Amouages and have few in my collection :-)

This is more of a comparison letter to myself than it is a review for someone else. Right now I have on Dia and I just sprayed it less than 10 minutes ago. Lots of aldehyde and other clean notes that are perfectly balanced. I'm not the biggest fan of this note pyramid but I like it here. It's not too much. It is clean but not too clean. Course we all think of Chanel. I can tell you right now I don't like that brand identity whatsoever. I have the jersey and that's it. So me personally, I think aldehyde is the least sexy fragrance note you can possibly put on. I don't connect the dots. It smells like you either got out of the shower or you just cleaned the kitchen. My brain does not formulate any attractive, sensual, exciting moments when I apply something that has aldehyde in it. However, you don't always have to have that element when you are wearing something. In this specific scenario, Dia is a wonderful offering if you are looking for something very professional, clean, elegant, perhaps even informative. This is a fragrance not associated with a younger woman. There is no fruity or vanilla or anything of that sort. Complete disassociation from that. And I'm here for it! There is something refreshing about it just because everything that has come out recently is either vanilla or some kind of sweet, spicy, a mixture of the two, or something else along those lines. Maybe you could say this is old-school. Yes you could probably say that. However, I don't consider that a negative here. If you let it sit, which is what I'm doing right now, the aldehyde starts to fade, and white blossoms start to emerge as well as a very gentle sweetness. All of a sudden it becomes 20 years younger. And this is some kind of an art form other fragrance houses simply cannot get right or even compete with whatsoever. I mention this all the time but I'll say it again. Don't make a judgment from Amouage until you have let it sit on your skin for at least six hours. Every single fragrance from their entire line transitions into something extraordinary. Dia starts at one point and ends up in an entirely different point. Not everyone likes aldehyde, especially myself, but I'll be damned if anyone says the dry down is not exceptional.

However, they all share the same seal of luxury and exclusivity that characterizes The Maison. DIA is an aldehydic floral fragrance that dazzles with its beauty and sophistication. It has an air of a classic French perfume but at the same time it is modern, innocent and youthful compared to others from this house. Although it may remind you of the iconic Chanel N5 for its sparkling and soapy output, Día has its own personality that is revealed in its evolution. Its aldehydic notes are of exceptional quality, vibrant and fresh, but also delicate and elegant. The fragrance begins with a green, fresh and clean accord that captivates from the first moment. Then it becomes sweeter and more floral in the heart, a bouquet of white and pink flowers, which provide sweetness and sensuality. Rose and iris blend harmoniously with fruity and spicy accords, creating a delicate and refined fragrance. The base is warm and enveloping, in a symphony of perfect and harmonious accords of musk and noble woods. Sandalwood, cedar and guaiac woods; Together with vanilla and amber, and balsamic accords, they provide a creamy and comfortable touch and at the same time also impart depth and elegance to the composition. Substantivity on my skin reaches 10 hours with moderate to gentle diffusion. It is not a fragrance for all tastes, but for lovers of aldehydic compositions, at their best! DIA is a heavenly fragrance, for women with class and style. He is the perfect complement to Gold, her nocturnal sister. If DIA were the sun,🌞 GOLD would be the moon.🌚

Oh wow, Dia Femme. You're like classy, classy sunshine in a bottle. Very retro and definitely very aldehyde heavy on the top. Chanel No. 5? Pfft as if. No offense to fans of No. 5 but if Chanel's classic is the queen of the perfume world, Dia Femme would be empress of the effing solar system. They're in such different ballparks it isn't even funny. I don't know what vintage 5 is like but I've smelled the modern incarnation and it doesn't hold a candle to Dia. That said, it definitely isn't going to be for everyone. Dia Femme smells, more or less, like the worlds must luxurious soap or laundry product. In other words amazing, but the association is going to be impossible to shake for some. If you don't like soapy scents don't bother sniffing Dia, it just isn't going to do it for you. On the other hand if you can handle that look forward to the most vivid, spring-like bouquet of florals you've ever set your nose to. A spray of Dia is like an explosion of spring flowers painted in the way only our good friend JCE could manage. It's sweet but not sickly, fresh but not ozonic, dense but not muddled, etc. etc. I can't help with identifying individual notes in such a busy composition but if anything I definitely smell peach blossom, orange blossom, and rose with a healthy dose of white musk. Woods become more apparent as time goes on as well. To abuse the over-used expression it's a symphony of a fragrance, many players contributing to one beautiful whole. Longevity is impressive, lasting a full 8-10 hours with 2 sprays. Highly recommended to those who don't recoil at the thought of a perfume smelling vintage or 'old'.

This perfume is soooo beautiful, outta this world beautiful. Every powder-scents lover must at least try it on their skin and clothes - if not buy it. I remember I smelled this 3 years ago, but I couldn't afford it because I was quite young at the time, but now, I can go through an entire 100ML in 2 months only. It is very luxurious, gives you the feel of being alive during the fancy 1940's, you will definitely feel fancy after just spraying it on your wrists and neck. It stays on both skin and clothes for a good long period of time. I find people either amazed by it - strangers actually stop me to ask what I'm wearing (doesn't happen often in the UAE) and those who aren't as fascinated don't hate it. However, people who are not so into perfumes tend to think that it smells like baby powder, but I don't mind, I am obsessed with any scent that smells powdery and clean. The packaging is a clear see through, the liquid is orangy-yellow, and to me, such colors make the perfume even greater and more luxurious. Its like a rich woman's perfume, a fancy high class rich woman. Also, perfect as a gift for its beautiful packaging and the fact that the scent is loved or liked by everyone as I mentioned above. If the person didn't obsess over it, they will for sure like it. I had to give some thought before writing this review as I think what I may say will turn some away from this lovely fragrance. Please don't shy away from trying this divine perfume because of what follows. This is a soft sensual soapy floral fragrance that reminds me of a luxurious bath oil with a touch of....mothballs. Yes, I said it reminds me of mothballs. But I mean this in the very best toe curling in love kind of way. It's not actual mothballs but my scent memory of mothballs which comes from hiding in the closets at my grandmothers house playing hide n seek. It was an old home so there was a slight scent of mothballs mixed with the clothing which smelled of my grandmothers perfume and my grandfathers pipe tobacco. I remember loving that scent. This is a very well blended fragrance so you will be hard tested to try and pick out any specific note. It doesn't change much during wear on me beyond the aldehyde note (from which the mothball quality comes) fading. It is definitely for a mature sophisticated independent woman but its not so pretentious that you need to dress in order to wear it. I think the sensual quality of this fragrance makes this go with just about anything you might wear to the office or out on the town. FB worthy---just placed my order. Definitely try before you buy, but please try. It's lovely!

This fragrance just feels so WOMANLY. It can't simply be described as feminine, which would certainly be lovely enough, if that was all Dia was, but it isn't. Feminine isn't quite right. Girly is allll wrong. Ladylike, absolutely, but more. Dia is stately and self-possessed. She feels independent and wonderfully mature. It's a fragrance more accurately described as traditional than classic, but best described as, aldehyde perfection. It is one of the most intense aldehydic fragrances to appeal to me. There is simply no getting around it. You must love aldehydes to love Dia. Peony is the only other note worth mentioning. The aldehydes elevate the peony note, making it far more interesting than your typical peony presentations. The remaining notes are lost on me and I would be hard pressed, during the countless hours Dia projects off my skin, to find them hiding between the aldehyde and peony. I have no reason to even try. The beautiful Dia is a self-assured, fully realized.....woman. I feel lucky to know her. Even luckier on the days Amouage helps me celebrate I can be her with a few spritz. Those are really good days :)

I haven't worn Dia in a few years; I allowed it to macerate, to see if its longevity would improve. And guess what - it did! Now I get 8 hours easily. The opening is in the style of Arab perfumery - powdery spicy rose with incense, strong musk and sparkling aldehydes. Depending on your taste, it might smell slightly dated or dusty. But even if you don't like the opening, just let this perfume sit on your skin for about an hour, and then you won't be able to stop sniffing your wrists! It is *that* beautiful and enchanting. Jean-Claude Ellena's mastery is revealed in the fact that he can make a complex perfume with a myriad of notes appear transparent, effortless, classy and entirely office-appropriate - although this one can be worn on any occasion, from high-society weddings to date nights. In any case, Dia requires a mature wearer, probably a 30+ professional woman, because it is the exact opposite of mainstream kiddie-friendly pinkish juices. I would classify Dia as a floral woody musk, because that's the direction the scent takes after the aldehydes evaporate. Now off to sniff my wrists. :)

Dia pour femme is such a feminine cloud of soft demure loveliness that wafts about you all day. In the opening I agree with all the reviews that describe it like the most opulent fresh out of the shower soapy/lotion ever. But moving into the heart I can pick out the peony and soft white musk. The sandalwood is ever present but light and airy and I can definitely smell the incense accord. It's also very light and sweet that persists even into the drydown. I had a travel spray and the more I wore this the more little nuances this fragrance will reveal. It's not a in your face. announce it's presence a room before you get there, scent. But it does project at least arms length for at least 5 hours. Longevity is incredible, easy 10 hours from 3 sprays. I also believe this scent could be worn year round. I find it hard to imagine it might be too much in the humidity and I bet it would bloom even more in the dry cold of winter. So inoffensive but so unique. I bought a full bottle and am so glad I did. My other loves from Amouage are Beloved, Ciel, Bracken and Sunshine.

*Updating this simply to say that I am head over heals in love with this now. I don’t know how I’ve lived without for so long, or how I ever will now. * I appreciate this more each day - it has me intrigued. Despite coveting this fragrance for some time it was not love at first spray yet I’ve come to enjoy it very much. The opening is aldehyde dominant on me and the top notes smell almost masculine, like a men’s simple, retro cologne or shaving cream. Once it dries down it starts to shine as a luxurious, delicately musky, floral soapy fragrance - for me that is just beautiful and matches my tastes. This fragrance has a classic feel without being too old fashioned or dated. A scent for a refined woman who wants to smell bright and sophisticated without protecting heavy or sweet perfume all over the place. For me this is a ‘less is more’ fragrance, which is a good thing because at the high price point you wouldn’t want to have to apply much! Several days after wearing a scarf with this on my neck I can still pick up on subtle wafts of it. Smells great on fabric!

Dia Woman takes about two hours for it to really develop. Before that time, I can smell nothing but aldehyde. It takes a long time for it to fully bloom and then in my opinion the fragrance finally unfolds. It remains fresh floral but in a very high-quality way. Yes it is traditional. It is mature, but I would say maybe for a woman in her 30s or early 40s. Certainly not much older than that. It is a modern take on a traditional fragrance. Everything I describe once again arrives only after hours of the aldehyde implosion. I am going back-and-forth on whether or not it is worth the wait. There is a depth to the base notes that you simply cannot get from any lesser quality fragrance. The peony blends perfectly with the heliotrope and sandalwood which makes for a gentle powder sweet undertone I very much enjoy. There are beautiful elements in the fragrance. You just have to really like aldehydes. There is not much else to say. Amouage is a great fragrance house. It's not for beginners, but if you have a trained nose every offering is quite exciting.

Dia has a sophisticated and vintage vibe, but also a translucency that modernizes it a bit. I find it absolutely bewitching. And when I saw that Jean Claude Ellena was the perfumer for this beauty, the first thing I said to myself was, “That makes sense!”. When I wear it, I keep getting soft whispers of it that take me by surprise all day. To me, it’s a floral and fresh daytime fragrance, think along the lines of chanel vibes, kind of soapy, but if that sounds to be up your alley, you should try it. The further down the fragrance rabbit hole I go, the more I appreciate vintage vibes rather than sweet and gourmand everything. I will say that I don’t get much fig, at least not the fig that I’ve grown accustomed to in modern scents like gris charnel, Crystal noir, or scarlet poppy. I’d say this about pretty much all amouage: If you try it and don’t like it, hold onto your sample and revisit it after a while. I disliked this and many other amouage scents when I first tried them, but now I love the majority of them. Great house, gorgeous fragrance!

This is the most enchanting and angelic perfumes I have ever smelled, simply breathtaking. Top notch quality and superb blending. Smell aldehydes supported by beautiful floral notes and musk, there is a hint of creamy vibe (I believe orris and sandalwood bring that effect) in the dry down. I heard that aldehyde is a synthetic ingredient, but the overall smell is very natural to me, it’s a masterful blend. Most of the Amouage women perfumes are kinda unisex to me, but Dia woman is completely feminine, too bad I can’t wear it for myself. I love this on my wife. Absolutely nothing outdated about Dia woman, age shouldn’t be an any issue to enjoy this beauty. Well done Jean Claude Ellena. P.S. I couldn’t resist anymore:), believe me, Dia woman became one of the most worn perfumes in my collection. It’s shame not being able to enjoy such a beautiful thing just because it’s too feminine, in the end of the day what matters is how you feel. I truly enjoy this beauty and always uplift my mood.

✨Stupendous classic vintage scent with sparkling aldehydes in the opening. Complex notes creates slightly soapy soft clean smell which is very classy, luxurious, sophisticated, yet powerful and long lasting. ✨Dia Woman has been said to be a lighter day version of Gold Woman which was intended for evening scent. I understand totally the idea but since I have an old batch of Dia and a new batch of Gold I have to say that Dia’s longevity is amazing compared to Gold. Both are different anyway and worth to own both if you love a vintage style scents. Dia is more linear while Gold has clearly different stages. ✨Absolutely for everyone who loves vintage scents of Chanel and Guerlain ✨Amazing, I want to bath in this! This screams of luxury and opulence, I say screams because it isn’t subtle. The aldehydes are sharp and pronounced. It bears slight similarity with another aldehyde beast that we all know and love. Except this has a beautiful Oriental character from the natural rose oil. The dry down is the star, the most beautiful array of florals of multiple accords, all arranged into one garden of heaven. There is so much going on and I love it. As with most Amouages, they appear very natural and abundant. This is a must try for floral lovers. Dia projects confidence, exclusivity and a cultural wealth. It is balanced with contrasting animalic notes, which prevent the scent from leaning too feminine. It has a bite to it. This is a fiery temperament who will confront and speak her mind. It definitely has a very strong, assertive and uncompromising character of the modern heroine. I love the raw authenticity of Amouage fragrances, they carry so much depth.

Dia is a very beautiful perfume. Before testing it I didn't know that it's J-C Ellena's creation; but now that I know, it totally makes sense. Dia is a hard one to describe, because there are many different notes in it, yet they are wonderfully blended and create a unique mix. To my nose, the main protagonists are aldehydes and musk; even so, there's nothing old-fashioned about it. I don't think it resembles Chanel No 5, or any other classic aldehydic creation. The musk used in Dia is kind of similar to Nasomatto Silver Musk, in that it is crystal clear and clean; yet, the addition of floral, fruity and woody notes adds opulence and spark. My only objection is that this very expensive fragrance does not last more than 5-6 hours on my skin. I tested it against Narciso Rodriguez Pure Musc and, although Dia seemed much more impressive in the beginning, the humble little Pure Musc outlasted it by a mile.

Oh! I'm met also with some reminiscence of aldehydous hairspray like Angela Agiannidou below has suggested, but in a really good way -- kind of that musky fabric softener that AveParfum picks up too. So lovely is Dia, clean, fresh, a great balance of soft blossoms and aldehydes. It sure smells luxurious. I do detect heliotrope, cold and smooth and nicely done running alongside the aldehydes. The base of woods is soft and delicately sweet, dewy and hydrated. Orris lends some chic silky starchiness to contrast reminding me here a little of Masque L'Attesa, minus the hint of sour yeastiness. Mmmm... Dia is the ultimate sexy, clean skin fragrance. Like a good aldehyde, I find that this is 'cold' enough that I would want to wear it elegantly in the winter months as well as casually as a cooling summer fragrance too -- beautiful, versatile and indulgent. Perhaps there might be a bottle of Dia in my future.

I fell in love with this fragrance firsat time my girlfriend tested it in one of Amouage stores. Buying her a bottle was no-brainer decision but then I thought, "Maybe I should a bottle for myself too?" and so I did. Amouage Woman line is highly slept on by men just because it has "Woman" in its name but in my opinion, no fragrance should be associated with any gender and no one should be avoiding certain fragrances just because it's "dedicated" for women. Honour 43 Woman was my personal awakening when it comes to Amouage Woman line, now I got myself Dia Woman and I'm loving it. I'm from Poland and it smells exactly like bambino oil our parents used on our bodies back when we were little; the soapiness is super nostalgic. It's less intrusive than Amouage Gold and more mellow, much easier to wear but still lasts for ages.

Wow, this is very much like the Climat by Lancôme that I remember. Bearing in mind that there have been a number of Climat versions launched, all slightly different, I can’t accurately pin point which particular vintage I have in my olfactory memory. I absolutely love this, and am at a loss to describe individual notes. If I had to choose a few adjectives, I would have to propose the following...creamy, sumptuous, Nivea cream, flowery, powdery, addictive, intensely feminine... BTW my husband told me it reminded him of something his grandmother may have worn, and that it smelled so “old” as in historic or vintage, not old fashioned. Update. I applied a spray on my wrist last night around 6pm after a shower, I can still smell this on my wrist at 6.47 am the following day, even more beautiful if that’s at all possible.

The ultimate purest Aldehyde I ever felt. Wow, what a treasure! Damn so expensive - but damndamn soo goooood! Not for a teenager maybe - but sure for a mature woman. Around the Aldehyde lingers a fresh airy whiteflowery note - not too much - just almost there - and you breathe in deep to just almost smell it. If you are an Aldehyde-fan - stay away from this one 'couse Dia will make your wallet scream. Den ultimata och renaste Aldehyd-noten jag provat - någonsin! Wow, vilken skatt. Satans så dyr - men satan i gatan såå underbar! Inte för en tonåring men väl för kvinnan. I Aldehyden dansar en blyg luftig vitblommig not -som du nästan känner - du andas in djupt och den är retsamt långt borta. This is niiice! Dial soap - YES! One of my favorite soaps! Reminds me alot of Chanel No. 19 EDT without the green notes, more complex - but very, very similar. I get more soap in Dia. Buying a full bottle! Love clean, fresh, expensive smelling fragrances like this. Classic! 😊 Update: Okay, the drydown in this on skin or on clothing is not No. 19 EDT at all, they're only similar for a while at the top. This is just orgasmic for my soap-loving nose. 😁 If anyone has a bottle they aren't loving, PM me! Update two: The more I wear this, I realize it's not actually Dial soap I'm smelling, it's the beautiful CARESS Daily Silk body wash / soap. 🤤 If you love that, and want to smell like it all day, then you need this. Safe blind-buy and would make a lovely gift!

I am partial to the whole house of Amouage - one of my favorite and it plays on my skin very well. I bought Dia full size bottle because it reminds me of the original Climat (a lot!), which is absolutely fantastic!!!! The very-very original one... It does change a bit and progress in a soft, warm green floral direction, but main accords are very recognizable Climat. Such a gift from this house! My husband loves it too. This is very day-night-office-any-season-safe. Strangely, I don't understand the soapy references, so maybe I am used to different soaps :-). Dia is definitely an homage to the art of French perfumery from the aldehydes era, but done extremely well. ,,,,, but, doesn't last. so expect that and enjoy the short-lived memory :-)

VanillaClouds77 below already mentioned it, Dia smells a lot like Cacharel Noa but the difference is like watching analogue TV versus digital HD. Dia seems like luxurious soap mixed with 22 different flowers that you can smell all at once and Noa is soap with 2 flowers only. Extrait Dia is also the most long lasting perfume i have ever smelled, it goes on for 20+ hours on the skin and even longer on clothes. Eau de parfum is not as potent but still has amazing longevity. If you don't like flowers or soap don't even bother but if you do and if you like Noa and its cousin Fleur then this Amouage masterpiece can become your signature. It is a perfume fairies would wear flying and playing in their gardens.

I just received it in the mail.. I only sprayed some on my arm so I haven’t really worn it yet.. the opening was really weird.. it was like the nail polish that you get little girls that can peel off.. the scented kind... the dry down was nice .. classic aldehyde with great sillage... my fiancé really liked it too.. you can tell it is fine quality.. I have mixed feelings about it.. I will update this when I get a real wear from this.. Update: It’s a nice scent that I get compliments with at church.. I think it’s a hit with the older ladies.. I’m not buying a full bottle either.. but maybe later in life I will circle back Another update... It took a hot day for me to fall in love! I see the light lol

Sparkling bubbly luxury bubble bath. The aldehydes are in modern style, they don't pierce and don't have that fatty quality either. Lots of you are comparing Dia to Caleche and No.5 and I get the point, they are all aldehydic soapy folars, but Dia feels like the most modern rendition of the theme. It's the most airy and transparent out of the three, way more delicate and less sillage but good longevity. And for me personally, these are qualities which keep Dia on my shelf but not Caleche or No5. While I enjoy wearing Dia all year round, it's especially beautiful during the summer. In the heat the complexitiy is amped up and the development is more nuanced.

Uhhh...In my Country there was a soap like this for 30 years ago...It is totally soapy for my but I love Amouage scents. It is not bad, I can imagine that I'm wearing this. Ok, I give time for it...We'll see... After one hour it is turn out a very pleasant powdery scent! It is very-very feminim and elegant. I LOVE it now. :) For spring it will be good for elegant clothes to go out. Longevity is 4-5 hours and sillage is moderate. This us the weakest Amouage on the Market. Go for an extrait version! Update: I bought the Extrait version-it is more flowery, less aldehides and a nuclear sillage and extreme longevity!Best for sping!!!!

My 4th from Amouage after Sunshine, Opus III, Jubi 25 and Dia. Dia is soapy, powdery, clean, so soft, very very soft... flowery and aldehydic indeed... A bit sharp and harsh in the opening, same as other from Amouage collection and im kinda used to it. Projection and sillage is soft to moderate, and sets a skin scent on me after 6 hours with a creamy flowery scent trail. The more you spray will not increase the projection or sillage, but longevity, yes... Strong but not overpowering and wont offend people around you...Longevity is awesome... upto 8hours with only 2 spray. I prefer wear Dia for night time or cooler weather..

Expensive floral soap vibes, in the best way.🧼🫧 Nothing like Chanel 5 or Amouage Gold. The woman I envisioned for this perfume is definitely someone pure, fresh, without makeup but with very well-cared-for skin, calm, confident, and full of peace. 💎 As a lover of aldehyde, I'd rob a bank for you Dia. .............................................. Dia is always one one my LOVE especially in this cold wintertime when we need sunlite so very much. I bought the extrait version becouse on my skin the Dia Edp lasts only 4-5 hours but the extrait version lasts well all days. (I heard that Dia is the weakest Amouage becouse it is made for daywearing). The sunny aldehides with the peony makes an extreme soapy-powdery feeling when you came from a luxus spa-very refreshening and uplifting ferlings. I think that it has a super “rich Lady” wibe and I need to dress up elegant for this beauty.

Soapy floral feminine perfume. It smells clean & fresh but still has a soapy tinge or depth to it. Its does smell like a vintage rose soap somehow and very aldehydic. It is how I imagine a caring mom or mature lady to smell like. Just smells clean like you are out of the shower and you used a rose soap bar. Performance is very good, but not a beast. Very versatile scent & classy. I like it though but has a bit vintagey vibe that reminds me of old women. Teo Cabanel Et Voila is a more modern version of this and better smelling IMO.

After trying a Lot of samples from Amouage I finally decided my first (and only so far) purchase from this expensive house, to be this one and I don’t regret it but probably won’t buy again simply cuz of the price (and maybe lack of uniqueness) Fresh soapy aldehydic summer day scent, perfect for where I live. Pretty good longevity and projection. I do get some rose and flowers in the heart but its best part is the dry down with the lovely sandalwood. On me it smells clean, sophisticated,sparkly and floral. 9/10

I smelt this at a clothing shop. Such a unique, complex, deep and luxurious scent. I would describe it as walking through a wheat field on a sunny, breezy day a day or two after a rainstorm and the smell of wet violets and peonies drifting through. Very strong concentration, I would barely use 1 to 2 sprays. I came back the next day with no perfume on to wear it as I loved it so much. It lasted the entire day. It's a very mature scent so I would not recommend as a gift for a teenager. adding to my wishlist!

This is a classic floral aldehyde perfume. The opening is a blast of clean soapy aldehydes which makes you feel like you have just gotten out of the shower after lathering yourself in Dove soap. The opening may be a little strong and harsh for some but after it drys down on the skin I get wafts of different floral notes throughout the day along with incense that is just breath taking. It's a beautiful perfume for day and I went through a phase of wearing this to work. One of my favourite Amouages for sure.

Words cannot explain how much i adore this fragrance. It’s a clean-powdery fragrance, that smells almost like dryer sheets without the screechy aspect. It’s very soft and floral, but the florals don’t make it too feminine making it a perfectly unisex fragrance in my opinion. It also lasts an eternity on my skin, although the projection isn’t crazy like other amouage fragrances. I believe that this is a fragrance every powdery lover should at least sample.

I was a big fan of “Climat” by Lancome before I discovered “Dia”. I bought full bottle, because this composition it is so beautiful. You need to appreciate aldehydes and not to worry about “soapy scent”, how others describe it. It is more classy then “Climat” with very complex notes. I can hear this fragrance on me all day. I never get tired of it and use it for very special occasions. Jean Claude Ellena created true tribute to femininity.

I know for a lot of people this could feel a little dated, and that's probably due to the pronounced aldehyde-rose-musk combo. For me, however, this is gorgeous. I don't care if to some it can smell dated; it's beautiful, clean, and smells like luxurious soap. If I wear it out, I normally put it on about an hour before I leave the house and typically not on clothes, so the only thing that projects is the amazing dry-down.

My signature searching has ended! Finally I got my very loved and so Me perfume.Where have you been? I'm so overwhelmed with this new love right now and will be forever.This is a classic like Chanel no5 but better and less popular.Very uplifting,breath-taken and joy in the same time.The lasting power is forever plus the sillage is heavy but not the loudest.Thats what I have been waiting for! Ohh,Im very falling in love!

I was searching for the perfect soapy scent for a long time. After reading reviews (and bearing in mind my resolution to stop with blind buys 😇) I ordered sample first also with Amouage Gold. Sooo gorgeous! As a lover of soapy clean and classy fragrances I am sure I wouldn't be disappointed with blind buying it after all. This is everything I hoped it to be. Such an amazing scent..hard to describe, but truly uplifting.

A beauty without equals and without compare :) there is nothing more alluring, more soft, elegant, womanly and etherial than Dia - the rose musk aldehydes powdery combination is out of this world, is heavenly... Oh the development, the quality 😍 I love No 5 in all its forms, I love Arpege.... I love Dia so much too! These are MY perfumes, my category, my most beloved. It is a happiness to own and such a joy to wear :)

Umme.aisha - your bottle seems ok,mine as well is magnetic with rose gold I purchased it from Harrods recently and most importantly the scent is authentic. I think Amouage is in the process of changing some of its packing which they do from time to time. But I wouldn't advice buying such brands as Amouage from those websites. Best to do it in person if you can.

High-tuned aldehydes (bordering on screechy), followed by soapy roses and peonies. Dries down very musky and powdery. Wore this hiking today and mingled with my body heat (and sweat) smelled like luxurious pink soap. This can be worn all year round due to its strength, but I think it may fall a bit flat in too cold weather. Lasts all day, leaves a trail.

I ordered Dia from fragrancex and just received it this morning. The bottom of the bottle does not have a batch number printed. The cap is a magnetic one, rose gold in color. Now I've called several boutiques and they say that they have dia with a clear, transparent cap. I need advice as to what I should do. Did I just pay $200 for a fake?

Classically perfumey soapy aldehyde smell. Really strong on the aldehydes. Has some laundry detergent vibes but thats ok. It’s a very clean smell. Been an hour still nothing but aldehydes. Came back to this but now im sort of obsessed with c-12 laurel now that its hotter weather. I like it in the late spring early summer.

It's a comfort and cleanliness in the bottle. Like you falling into the fresh bed. Like a cotton field. Like a cloud. Like a cozy memory from childhood. Staid over night on my inner elbows. Fabulous retro orris-aldehyde bombshell. A dead ringer for the chic Russian ladies of my childhood wearing Lancôme Climat. A visit to Postwar Paris. The smell of cosmetics in the 40s. Finally, a retro perfume I can love, as this is ALL woman. It’s soft, creamy yet somehow mineral and slightly salty in the best way.

Intense and balanced soap fragrance with an expensive sensation. It feels very clean, luxurious and comfy and lasts for a very long time. I'm not a fan of aldehydes and pink flowers, but I love this. I wouldn't even look at the notes and try it, but I was given a sample and I'm about to finish it.

Does anyone know whether the fragrance of Dia is the same in the new rose gold packaging as it was in the glass bottle? I love this fragrance but very unsure whether it is the same as before or the Amouage people have altered this one (too). All comments are highly appreciated. Thank you! 😊
