Epic Woman

First off, I am a man. Let me tell you, whoever you are, or where ever you are right now, this is a phenomenal fragrance and it 100% represents me. My, credo is to follow your heart, so yeah, no wonder this bottle is green. After having smelled hundreds if not 1000s of different perfumes only the fragrances/smells that I have connected with something from the past (emotion, locations, etc.) have a strong uncontrollable reaction. This has that as well and as someone who created perfume, studied and worked in this metier, this means a lot for me. I am obsessed with Epic Woman, I don't care about the notes or what other people write, if it's marketed towards women etc., all I care about is having a reason to wear perfume, and this (since I have found and obtained it) means subsequently wearing Epic Woman EdP. You're utterly most welcome, people who smell me on the street! This is a hidden gem. You will be smelled as if you wore Sauvage EdT or some 80s vintage perfume, with the difference that nothing quite smells like this. Nevertheless, this should have the same popularity, polarization or magnitude as Baccarat Rouge and I don't have a single doubt about that (and absolutely zero bias, of course, 😉). It completely flew under the radar because it is marketed towards women and has a male sibling. Lucky for me, that's why this fragrance hasn't garnered more talk, but also because it is mostly men that run and popularize fragrances online and they don't even bother to smell the woman's version,if Amouage comes out with the masculine-looking male counterpart. But women know. I was told by a sales assistant in Dubai that Epic Woman EdP is Amouages third best-selling fragrance and to be fair I don't know if this stat is only for the woman's fragrances or all their line-up. Either way, that means quite something. Now that I am at the end of my review, let me share a lesson with the ones that still are looking for their perfect perfume: Smell/sample (if you can't smell it in store) before you buy. After sampling a few unimpressive Amouage offerings, this scent is a return to form of sorts. Epic is well-named - a bold, spicy, opulent rose-oud scent that is unisex despite its marketing. It has facets of Lyric (spicy rose) and Fate (a beautiful woody-amber drydown) but centred around an oud note, which is a nice nod to the brand's Middle Eastern heritage. I'm not a lover of oud, but I appreciate a well-placed oud note in a rich perfume such as this. The rose-oud accord here is perfection - rounded out by other high-quality ingredients, and balanced nicely. For instance, Epic is much better than the oud-centred Frédéric Malle Desert Gems collection in my opinion. Epic opens with a warm spicy accord on a herbal, aromatic background. The spices are sweet - cinnamon is immediately evident, and the caraway note reminds me of an artisan ice-cream of that flavour I enjoyed once. The balance is beautiful and it is almost masculine-leaning here. The oleander note is in the background, providing some powdery sweetness, paving the way for the rose at its heart. As it develops, the rose note emerges, rich and dark. I don't get much jasmine, but geranium enhances the herbal quality from the opening, giving it a peppery lift along with a fresh tea note. Rose is king, however, bolstered by the restrained yet rich oud note. The rose-oud accord is one of the best I've encountered, and is more than palatable to people who are sensitive to oud. The spices round it out beautifully. The oriental drydown is beautiful - woody, spicy and slightly sweet. Vanilla enhances the amber, and smooth sandalwood and some powdery florals round it out. A hint of patchouli adds earthiness, and it fades to a musky amber skin scent eventually. Sillage is reasonably strong and longevity is decent (as is fairly typical of Amouage). A rose-oud perfume of the highest quality, Epic is excellent - extroverted yet elegant. Regal and opulent, it is somehow queenly, but is unisex, depending on preferences. I possibly prefer Lyric at a push, but that is simply a matter of personal opinion. A perfume of epic proportions. 4.5/5.

Amouage's perfume names can be funny sometimes. Epic, either in grandeur or as a long saga, this perfume is not - though this is not a comment on its longevity, which is substantial. For as big and tenacious as it is, it's actually very demur for the majority of its long life. The opening is certainly not demur with its massive dose of fruity, waxy, and very piquant peppercorns, a string of woody cumin, and parched cinnamon. This wallflower has a moment of being quite bold before you begin to see its true nature with these spices overlaying a very beautiful, pink, powdery, and woody rose. This quietly pretty rose, for a good moment, is given a big boost of confidence and an outgoing personality. Hours later when the rose departs, a powdery orris takes over and is accented by amberic and soft vanillic woods and wisps of smokey frankincense. I've heard it said, and it seems highly likely, that Epic Woman has changed quite a bit since 2009. This new formulation I am wearing doesn't seem to jive with the reviews that others have provided; the spiciness is less so, the geranium and jasmine less so, the tea is a lot more woody than fermented smokey greenery, and the powderiness throughout the heart and base layers is a lot more so. This could be a difference of me wearing it on skin versus others' experience on blotters in some (or all) cases, or perhaps it has truly changed and this is why Epic Woman feels less than epic to me. But, regardless, it is beautiful. The perfume feels like it is shrouding me with a very comfortable blanket, a soft yet protective layer that is impossible to not want to snuggle into. I have blanket on my couch that I absolutely love, and I could describe that blanket as epic - so, there you go, I guess.

As a tea lover, I’ve always had a soft spot for fragrances that incorporate tea notes effectively—no easy feat, given how ephemeral the scent of tea can be. Unlike denser, more tenacious notes like vanilla or saffron, tea is delicate and easily overshadowed. But when done well, tea notes linger in my subconscious, quietly leaving their mark. Epic Woman is one of those rare compositions. The opening is striking—an aromatic burst of spices that evokes the image of a spice cabinet erupting in a Middle Eastern kitchen. Almost immediately, a green, minty tea accord reminiscent of Moroccan tea rises from the blend—refreshing and herbaceous. As the initial mintiness softens, floral elements begin to emerge, primarily rose and jasmine. The rose is beautifully executed, lending the fragrance a rich, elegant heart, while the jasmine—subtle yet present—gently replaces the mint, transforming the accord into something closer to jasmine tea. As the fragrance evolves, olibanum begins to surface. Its coniferous and resinous facets interact beautifully with the green tea and herbal tones, creating a sensation that is both warm and cool, airy yet grounded. No single note dominates, and the transitions are seamless—each layer carefully composed to support the next. Epic Woman feels both exotic and refined, modern yet timeless. But what truly sets it apart is its remarkable versatility. Despite the name, it’s not a traditionally feminine scent—it leans effortlessly unisex, balancing florals, resins, and aromatic tea. Suitable for day or night, in any season, and perfect for both formal occasions and relaxed settings. Elegant, layered, timeless. Intricate, balanced, and quietly powerful—Epic is a fitting name.

There are a lot of words to describe the love that I have for this perfume. Everything is beautiful about it , the shape , the color, the golden details and even it’s package. I don’t know with precision what is the smell of caraway, but all the aromatic composition reminds to emerald jewelry , specially the famous ring from Hurrem ( one of the main characters from a Turkish tv program). This perfume is elegant , feminine , romantic, with a distinctive Middle Eastern vibe. From my collection , it is my second favorite, it has the perfect balanced rose note composition. The rose note in this perfume is somewhat aquatic, “green-fresh”( thanks to the geranium) , it is like tasting a very exclusive rose tea, with Middle Eastern spices. The oud is not sharp , it is warmth , it embraces the floral notes providing them some masculinity. It last hours in the fabrics , letters and different kind of leather goods. It is a perfume that can be applied during all seasons , specially during the evening and midnight, or during the day when it is cloudy. For me , and for the moment it is the best rose perfume that I ever know or acquire; definitely I will buy it again because I have to confess , it is very addictive, specially for rose lovers. Do not combine it with gourmand perfumes , because the geranium will create a very particular aromatic composition that not all will tolerate. It is the perfect perfume for a formal and romantic meeting for the people who love roses and middle eastern spices.

Right Epic is the name and lofty as this might seem CZ (not binance) has done a tremendous job for her debut fragrance. I remember CC in an interview mentioning she was a “baby” when she was doing this. Well given her latest work some regression would serve all of us well. To the point it opens spicy rose and a touch of olibanum slowly the spices settle and the rose blossoms with the olibanum heating up. As the spices almost disappear the rose fades as well leaving what’s predominantly an incense drydown. It’s beautiful, faceted and layered. I prefer this era of Amouage where execution and ingredients were prioritized rather than the second phase of CC where he went off a cliff trying to be too abstract and creative. I also prefer to the current Mr Salmon which has done a fantastic job of getting rid of most of the original Amouage target customer base of aficionados and connoisseurs only to replace them by the crowd who are waiting for the next sneaker drop. At least the consolation we have is in Mathilde Laurent at Cartier who is one of those closest to continuing the journey of the first era of Amouage. Alas Epic Woman is beautiful and a modern classic and serves as a reminder of what Amouage can go back to being. For now it’s a cross between Marc Antoine Barrois and Maison Crivelli of “Style and Screeching Sillage” morphing from Zegna’s finely tailored couture line into Versace Medusa overload mixed with parts off white and palm angels.

When I first became seriously interested in fragrances, I avoided Amouage for years because I thought you had to be a lunatic to spend the equivalent of a car payment on a bottle of perfume when there were so many nice things available at an affordable price. When I finally broke down and tried Epic Woman, I can only compare it to the experience of seeing the ocean for the first time as a kid: grand and glorious and so much better than I expected it to be. Epic is so well-crafted that no single note is dominant. Instead, the different components weave in and out, emerging and receding as the scent unfolds like a Scheherazade story or a piece of Baroque music. Epic has it all: a beautiful opening fraught with opulent spices, a soft, glowing floral heart, and some of the most compelling base notes around. The oud, for instance, is so perfect in Epic, it's what I always hoped oud would smell like and it never did until I tried Epic -- not like gasoline, not medicinal, just deeply woody and slightly sweet. The only down side to Epic (besides the price) is that after wearing it, some of my other favorite frags seem a bit wan and anemic by comparison...oh well. Great sillage and longevity, as you would expect for the price.

EPIC WOMAN : Connecting Worlds. This review is for Epic Woman, non-magnetic cap. Once upon a time, niche was really niche. I know it's hard Mr. Chong to be continuosly defined by the past, but as Virginia Woolf will always be part of our cultural heritage for giving literary form to the James's stream of consciousnees, one artist director would be remembered for his innovative take on perfumery, his attempt to surpass Orientalism and connect the East with the West (e.g. Figment Man, Opus V, Opus XI, and this marvelous Epic). Epic Woman opens on my skin with a sour, sweet rose that instantly turns velvety, rich, and spiced where I detect a pickled-olive undertones. There is an undrcurrent of jasmine, but what is more prominent is a lemon tea note and flecks of vanilla, patchouli, and the always present frankincense. It feels at once sour and dry, smoked and medicinal, but also velvety and enveloping. The rose is fiery thanks to the spicy, it will never feels syrupy. To put into words the drydown, I would say it is a dessiccated rose infused with spices with smoke from the frankincense lurking around. Epic Woman has a energy of its own. Amazing! What an epic scent (literally and figuratively) it turned out to be. I haven't tried Epic Man yet (boo hoo to me) but the woman's version is absolutely breathtaking and far from the "woman's" scent. This is what i hate about Amouages the most, their bifurcation of fragrances with respect to gender. Epic Woman is a masculine scent, through and through. Just like the color of the bottle (which by the way is emerald green), the scent itself has a green tone to it. In the air, you mostly get rose and incense which might remind you of Fredrick Malle's masterpiece, Portrait of a Lady. But if you dig your nose close to your skin, you would get the true essence of this composition. You would get spices with cumin being the most prominent, pine tree, cinnamon, patchouli and most definitely labdanum. Performance, on my skin, is good. It lasts for a good 6 hours with subtle projection. I'm assuming that my particular bottle is "newer" and it used to be a better performer. Nevertheless, I'm more than satisfied. Recommendation? Absolutely yes. Infact, I would recommend everyone to check their entire women line because personally, i find those to be much more interesting.

Wow...talk about an appropriately named fragrance. With a name like "Epic" I just expected to be let down. What fragrance could live up to a name like that? Well, this one can...and does. Epic is....epic. It is monumental. It is truly phenomenal. For me, the combination of pink pepper, rose, tea, sandalwood and vanilla is like opium to my brain. Oh, the vanilla in this is to die for. I am a big fan of Perles de Lalique and this is like the perfected, dream version of Perles. The quality is incredible and Epic is so perfectly blended and balanced that it sort of makes my heart stop. Epic lasts ALL day long on me. From early morning until I go to bed. Phenomenal staying power. Then comes the bottle...it looks like something that would belong to a king or queen. But what else would be suitable for something so magnificent inside? Epic is larger than life and very appropriately named. Even though it is "epic", it is still very wearable somehow as long as you stick to one spray and don't over do. Epic is so magnificent that I actually feel sad for people who don't "get" it...because I feel like they are missing out on something truly special. 10/10

I was lucky to visit the Amouage factory on a trip to Oman. I asked one of the women who worked there what her favorite perfume was and she immediately pointed to Epic Woman. Without her recommendation I might not have tried Epic, as I'm not typically drawn to carraway and cinnamon. Epic is so much more than its individual notes though. It opens a little bright and peppery, with a hint of rose. Then the spices and resins appear. Epic stays pretty linear after that, but is never dull - it's beautifully blended and complex. Like moving through a market in Oman, encompassed by strong scents from the stalls of flowers, spices, frankincense, oils and wood - all blurring together in the dry heat, with a bit of both honey and stink in the mix. Even though it contains smells of the market, Epic has a timeless, expansive feel that evokes the open desert as well. I don't reach for this in the wet spring and fall months, but prefer it in winter or summer. I think it's a unisex day or evening scent. 1-2 spritz, max - will project and last all day. Probably not a safe blind buy, but Epic is high-quality and full of feeling.

i've had and loved this for over a year & can't believe that i haven't reviewed it before. opening: dirty & dusty & ancient + hot spice, just the slightest hint of an orange citrus + a kick from something like ginger. cold & warm, slightly naturally sweet. this was my first experience w this type of rose; a lotion-like rose that i've found in time to smell similar to OJ Ta'if & LEP Cèdre Superfluide and if it was a colour, it would've been silver. i really do quite enjoy this. in terms of comparisons w POAL, i must personally disagree; this is so delicate & balanced even though it's a strong scent, nothing chokes u. unlike POAL that i find to be an acidic rose that wears YOU, YOU can wear this. overall, it does remind me of the overall DNA of OJ fragrances but this one specifically is suitable for powerful & political women (even though it's undoubtedly unisex. there's a dispersed tea base that runs through the veins of epic throughout the entire wearing experience and just blends everything together, which might be why it doesn't jump at u considering the strong notes used in the composition.

This may be an acquired taste for those who enjoy either the clean or sexy feeling of wearing perfume. However, for those of use who indulge in our sense of smell, in the pleasures of putting our nose close to things as mundane as a piece of paper or a new pair of leather shoes, Epic becomes a shapeshifter that can be both intriguing and nostalgic. The cinnamon which is prominent on my skin adds a gourmandish hint which softens the sharp edges of a very natural vanilla and other herbal notes. It doesn't smell like it, but does make me think of dirty chai, and gives me the same kind of comfort. The rose [on me] is almost green, hidden at the start but blooming shyly in the dry down, so elusive that you can only find it if you are looking for it. The rose [on me] is there to give a soapy, sweet undertone that tames the herbs and spices which, as someone mentioned below, are indeed reminiscent of pencil shavings. What I get in the end, is the feeling of a freshly opened wooden box filled with the highest quality aromatic tea leaves.

I will not describe and rate the notes here, I’ll just tell my story with this epic smell. Few years ago, during a hot & humid evening in a tropical country, I was relaxing in the pool, then I started to get wafts of a regal perfume from 25~30 feet away, I checked out who was wearing this, I found an Arab lady just sat by the pool. I asked my wife to ask the lady what she was wearing, she said “amouage” just amouage, I became obsessed and tried to find this perfume everywhere, I’ve tested many of amouage to name it, I ended up buying 5 for men those I loved, but without finding this particular one. I thought it is something exclusive in Oman, but once the boutique restocked epic man & woman I immediately recalled the smell and bought it. I’m looking for an upgrade and will get myself extrait version for extreme silage. Don’t get me wrong, with 2 sprays from EDP version and the trail stays for hours after i leave the house, but that woman I could smell her 10 meters away in a tropical weather, that is extreme.

I knew I had to get a full bottle almost immediately after trying the sample. It’s not something I wear on a daily basis though, but when I do, it really sets the mood. My review might be a mess since it’s really hard to find the right words for a scent that seems to be the literal embodiment of beauty to me. Cumin is dominant at first but it doesn’t give off those old lady vibes, it blends well with other spices, creating this fresh yet intricate scent instead. Rose is present but it’s not overwhelming; actually, Epic was the very fragrance that made me fall in love with roses in perfumes. It’s a unique blend of spices and flowers and it gets complimented a lot. Longevity is impressive on my not so warm skin; it also leaves you with an absolutely heavenly drydown on your hair. The color of the bottle seems to fit the smell itself since this is such a “fresh” rose, Epic being this wild, eccentric yet chic younger sister of Lyric to my nose. If you enjoy both roses and spices, it’s a must-try!

Epic Woman smells pretty much like you'd expect from the notes: a big, fruity, ruby-red damask rose, almost like rose jelly, with a dark spicy edge. The spice here is mostly cumin, which is distinctly savory (not sweet), making Epic different than your average "spicy rose." Rose scents tend to smell melancholy to me; the grounded, savory, slightly dirty base here makes Epic feel more satisfying. A little wicked fun to relieve the tragic preciousness of the rose. Half an hour in, I start to get the oudh, smoothly blended with dry, scratchy frankincense. Here the oudh/incense chord is a dark, steady, smoky presence, rather abstract and hazy and still very much an accompaniment to the rose. Epic Woman is arguably the rose to end all roses, the biggest, deepest, reddest, meatiest rose of them all. Every "dark" rose in the world -- spicy, incense-y, or woody -- wishes it were as rich and potent as Epic Woman. It's done, you can go home now; the winner has been declared.

Epic is spot on! The opening is all caraway, rose, incense and tea with oud as the backdrop. Woah! It's breath takingly intense and I love it. It settles and now you start to detect the cinnamon, other spices and resins. I don't know if it's the geranium and it's affect on the other notes but there is an almost menthol feeling. I feel like I'm walking through the spice market in Istanbul and then I come across a florists that's full of dark red opulent roses. The spices are so intense that they just won't leave my olfactory senses and so the rose fragrance melts into that spicey memory. Further along the timeline and the Amber, vanilla and orris root just about surfaces. The sillage retracts to moderate after half an hour. I love in your face scents so it's definitely my bag. Approach cautiously if you don't normally go for spicebombs. I think a fella could very comfortably wear this. This is definitely a cold weather or evening scent.

This kind of loud and beautiful rose fragrances tend to be a love at first sniff for me. I may test hundreds of different fragrances and I will always come back for rose - sue me. The rose is very well executed here, it has geranium backing it up and it's literally epic. I don't mind the caraway note at all, it works very well with the flower and makes it a little spicy. All the notes are just here to complement the rose and give it a new and unique quality. This fragrance is both very unique and inoffensive, I think it can be worn casually or to a formal event. It has this green and exotic quality to it, but I would still call it a very "mindful" and elegant fragrance. It's very linear though, if you care about that. It has slowly become my summertime signature fragrance. It's mysterious and also a bit gothic, and fresh at the same time. I don't know a lot of other perfumes that do that well.

I have quite an old bottle of Epic, although it’s got a magnetic cap it’s a 50ml (it’d suit me much more if I could still get 50s, but like 100mls for 599 au$ is a bit rich). My early 20’s daughter loved it back then, maybe the oudish note? ... Not that long ago a generous manufacturers’ sample turned up in an order and today I sprayed it all on to clear space in my sample collection, knowing I’ve got the stunning bottle tucked away. Well the new version is still gorgeous and stood up well all day doing outside stuff, but it is a much lighter and particularly airy version, all to be expected. Quite dry and tea-ish, but still complex and so enjoyable. I could smell it in the air around me for maybe ten hours, so rare with current perfumes. Just to check I’ve sprayed my ‘vintage’ now; wow . I often thought it was my most wearable/easy Amouage. It’s an immortal, a desert island perfume for me.

This is simultaneously a great "beginner" spicy/smoky real middle eastern oud-rose (as opposed to the western ones which can tend to be, for lack of a better term, neutered) and a really unique, special take on the genre. It's powerful, exotic and super super sexy. Actually, sultry is an even better word. It's a sultry evening scent, perfect for occasions when you want to turn heads, especially date nights, for lovers of eastern scents, but it's not too much for noses used to only western perfumes. People around you will love this and want to get closer. Oh and the cumin here smells like straight up sex, but never too much. Just an ultra erotic hint, like a wink in the middle of a sultry cloud of deep red roses, oud, and incense smoke. Possibly my favorite amouage, definitely up there.

This is an achingly graceful fragrance from start to finish. It’s a spicy rose that later becomes both smoky and powdery. I’d say this is totally unisex and leans mature and confident, very elegant yet not in the least showy. It is perhaps slightly serious (like it’s “man” branded counterpart which I also enjoy). Great longevity, at least on my skin, in cooler weather. Perhaps most importantly there’s absolutely nothing “foody” about the spice profiles, which I guess speaks to the quality of this blend. An epic achievement indeed and it’s now my signature fragrance. I do put it on about 15 minutes before leaving home as the opening is admittedly strong compared to the more subtle beauty that follows. I have back up bottles in case Amouage ever discontinue it......

Got a 10ml decanter. Safe to say I 'have' it, for now? I also have The Portrait of a Lady by FM so I could do an easy comparison, one spray on each arm. Epic is sweeter and less spicy than TPOL. The rose note is more prominent, and I can tell a tiny bit of fruity note. Epic is definitely more feminine than TPOL. Easier to wear as long as you use sparingly when going to the office. Both frags are great in longevity! I get easily 4 hours with projection and becomes a skin scent lasting another 4 hours with both. I suggest that you sample both and only pick the one you prefer. As they are 90% similar, I don't think it's necessary to get both in FB. Of course if you are a hardcore spicy rose lover however just go get both! They are masterpieces.

One of my favorite Amouage perfumes! It’s so sophisticated and elegant! It has the coolness of coniferous forests and the alluring sweetness of pink roses. I imagine them as an intense pink. It depends a lot on the air temperature and the season! In the heat, it becomes sweeter, more feminine, with the rose and oleander standing out more. In the cold, the coolness of the conifers gives it seriousness and elegance. It can definitely be worn by a man as well. For me, it shares something in common with Perles de Lalique, but it’s evidently more complex and refined. It’s very similar to Mon Nom est Rouge by Majda, the last one being warmer and spicier. I couldn’t choose just one of them 🙃🙈, so they are both in a honour place in my collection.

******* Amazing oriental perfume which truely emblems background atmosphere of middle East along history. all the elements in this perfume (such as caraway, rose, oud ,insence...)which are arranged in an epic manner fantastically exhibiting battles,conquests and all of the interactions between kingdoms and religions emerges from this region along the time. So the scent and the value of this perfume is further more than what you may see and smell on a glance or be labeled for example "for woman" or etc... ,as a male I feel it is incomparable and far beyond than that amouage epic man (however that one is also a respectful one).I think this must be considered treasured. ******* This is a real treasure of middle eastern's history.

This is an absolutely beautiful perfume. Not at all what I was expecting. It’s a nice, very spicy, fresh, almost non existent rose scent. The tea is not prominent (I love tea notes) but it gives it a lightness that it would not otherwise have. Rose is almost undetectable, though it gives a subtle floral base to work off of. This might be my favourite Amouage to date, and I have 7 from the woman line (Sunshine, blossom love, lilac love, journey, dia, imitation). It’s the perfect balance between unique but also versatile. It’s jjjuuussstt fresh enough to wear during the day occasionally but would also make a great night out scent. You must love spicy perfumes to like this. The more I wear it, the more I love it. 5 stars.

When I think of the grand trio of fragrances that speak to Amouage's greatness, Jubilation XXV, Epic, and Memoir come to mind. All of them balance the Middle Eastern charm and depth with the elegance one might associate with French perfumery. Here, the first thing that strikes my nose are the spices: pepper and cumin placed on a delicate, powdery rose (some woody notes may be giving me that powdery feel). Within a minute or two, a prominent tea note comes to the front, and the spices recede a notch, but they remain present throughout. To give a simplified formula for this multi-layered gem: spices (cumin above all) with black tea on a bed of powdery rose. Absolutely lovely and continuously interesting.

I first tried Epic Woman in 2018. I fell in love immediately but I couldn’t afford it back then. I’ve been thinking about it for the last 5 years and it’s on sale at the moment, so I finally got a bottle. It still smells incredible, just as I remembered it, and I feel like Boudicca whenever I put it on. I’m instantly transformed into a conquerer, a vengeful and fearless queen of an ancient forest tribe. People seem to classify this one as a fall or winter fragrance, but surprisingly, I’m enjoying it on hot summer nights as well. The warm weather makes the spices spicier and brings out a sultry, almost humid quality that feels exotic and unapologetically sexy. Definitely worth the wait :)

Epic evokes the trade routes between Oman and China, creating a marriage between notes that refers to both of these fascinating cultures ... on one hand we have spicy, strong, decisive notes which, after embarking on their path, blend masterfully with notes such as tea, creating a truly remarkable fragrance. In my opinion it is to be enjoyed and that's it. Appreciating this olfactory masterpiece and knowing its history, wearing it is very elegant, absolutely classy and distinctive. Marco Polo said in Il Milione "I haven't written even half of the things I've seen". Well it happened to me with this fragrance, I enjoyed it, totally savored it and I hope you do too.

I love this glorious scent so much I have the FB 100ml and matching body cream. Lasts 24 hours for sure. Starts with a mentholly fresh rose burst on my skin. It is so well balanced the notes are indistinguishable from each other as it moves from top, middle and bottom phases. As a fair skinned person, on me, it is a bright scent that I wear day or night in any season. It is never heavy and does not turn cloying on my skin. Great sillage; lots of compliments. Be warned, it is not a girly nor introverted scent. Entirely unisex. For reference, the other amouage scents i love and have FBs of are: Epic, Beach Hut woman, Journey woman, lyric woman and Bracken woman.

Smoky, deep, alluring rose, woods and spices. And striking resinous notes sometimes. Dark, comforting, serene but in a regal, almost divine way. The wood notes are very prominent and bitter, almost oily, and the spices come and go, almost medicinal, not sweet at all. Sometimes the rose comes to the front, warm and powdery. A poem. Sensual worship in the shape of a fragrance. I want it! Update: lasts more than 24 hours as a skin scent even after a shower! ---- Thanks to a generous fragrantican who sent me a surprise drop of this preciosity, I am able to test it and enjoy :) ---- Quite intense, fills a room. I love it. My brother hates it, though.

One of the most beautiful Amouage I have. Definitelly more interesting and beautiful than Epic men. Totally unisex, the crayon vibe is simply stunning. I don t detect any oud, thanks God. Longrvity is unbelievable, 14 hours, It still can be detected around me. 2-3 sprays maximum, othervise it can transform into a real disaster. Pity I cannot count more, I have to go to the shower :)). I own a magnetic Oman edition ( batch A22963B352).I supose it is a 2014-2015 edition. I am curious to find out if all the Epic editions are made in Oman,also some opinnions about recent buyers, I want to buy another one. Thank you!

My impression: Opens a bit camphorous, with slightly medicinal oud, almost like an apothecary. I enjoy this facet a lot. Then, it becomes an aromatic, rose oud combo. The geranium and clove are perfect additions to the rose/oud profile. This is simultaneously heady and grounding. So balanced between the medicinal, herbal quality and the deep red rose and woods. It performs well in terms of longevity. Its a rich, dense bubble. It sits a little closer to the skin than I typically go for, but it’s a marvel of a fragrance, and 100% worth having! While I do love it, my budget will make do with the 10ml. ☺️

Blind bought this after seeing some reviewers I respect say it is not only unisex but really good, and to help me stop mourning the loss of Christopher Chong :) They weren't wrong and I am kicking myself for limiting myself to the "Man" Amouage's for so long. To me, this fragrance is defined by the tea note. It opens spiced ambery and a little floral, but once you hit the middle that tea accord is really amazing. When it finally dries down, you get a soft spiced vanilla to finish it off. I love Epic Man too, but this one probably does the Silk Road theme even better than that.

This scent is surely unique. I can definitely envision it being the trail scent of the Silk Road. It carries the unique fragrance of the Indian streets - an abstract mixture of spices, tea, smoke, incense, a bit of cow dung - that is soothed and elevated by the eerily soft and sweet Damascus Rose. The woody notes and olibanum give it an almost holy aura, reminiscent of the warmth of a Buddhist temple in the midst of the rainy season. This is a sophisticated scent that intrigues rather than attracts compliments. Truly epic, one of my all time favourites.

I have a bottle of Epic from the early 2010's and received a sample recently. I'm afraid to confirm it's been reformulated, as indicated by some other reviews. The sillage is weaker and longevity is an hour at best, whereas Epic used to be epic by nature and lasted for at least 24 hours (even after showering). It also seems to missing the lush, herbaceous, balsamic opening of the original formulation. I'm so disappointed and like others, will be seeking out vintage formulations or consider other brands, which isn't good for Amouage's business.

I received this as a blind sample so had no expectations when i first tried it. I actually had never heard of it but now I'm obsessed. It is deliciously unusual and bold. It starts off very very strong, and at first I wasn't convinced, but the dry down, omg the dry down. Heaven. Spicy, peppery, dark but definitely feminine. I never thought I would be tempted by more spicy notes (caraway and pepper) but this is one of a kind. Hats off to Amouage for this, it has transformed my perfume preferences completely. Has to be smelled to be believed.

When I first tried this, the scent was almost so outstanding, it was intimidating! It's like that gorgeous, warm and kind friend that speaks their mind and stands out in a crowd. The spiciness of the cinnamon and vanilla come out strong at the start with a hint of the smokey oud to come and as it dries down through the jasmine (I can only smell it for a short time) it settles into a really well balanced perfume that hangs out on my skin so warm and feminine without being a facefull of potpourri. Very worthy of a full bottle buy.

Very warm, aromatic and spicy melange. Well-blended, it is hard to pick apart the notes. In this scent this is the quality and allure of it. Luxurious musk holds the spices from being too loud. A little dash of caraway - the best caraway usage I know. A bigger dose of cinnamon, a bit of rose, oud and olibanum. Tea and geranium. Guaiac wood, vanilla. Never ending symphony of notes. Everything perfectly proportioned into an unforgettable, calming blend. It is a grown-up scent. Perfect companion this cloudy, cold November.

My favourite from the brand, by far. I fell for it during fast test in a niche parfumery - just a sniff from the bottle, one of many that day and that's a bingo ;) I immediately memorized it, and finally happened on a sample. Now, I'am sure which Amouage caught my attention. Classy, well-structured, dense with spices and uneuropean aromas, a promise of a new land, different of the known one. Raising admiration and curiosity. Giving comfort, even in hottest weather and luxurious feeling of it being crafted by a master.

This is beautiful, conceptual, and strange. I’m not sure that I would love it as much as I do, except that it perfectly encapsulates the (admittedly obscure) combination of subterranean limestone water and roll-on insect repellant, and so irresistibly reminds me of a wonderful childhood field trip to Jenolan Caves. Probably for this reason, I’m not crazy about the final third of the scent evolution, when it starts to pull vanilla, but that still leaves me a good five hours of damp, haunting magic.

Spicy rose-oud bonanza; dark rose petals drenched in darkly thick and intense oud oil dusted topped with a dusting of cinnamon & caraway powder. Opens a touch medicinal and supremely spicy, but the medicinal aspect tapers off to reveal that rose-oud combo that persists beautifully. As intense as this combo is, there's a distinct & contrasting airiness to it that I very much enjoy. Best suited for cool/cold weather, potentially may work in spring. Lasts for ages (12+ hrs) on skin and clothes.

It's mesmerizing. Soft, slightly powdery but not overly so, soft subdued spices amber with a touch of vanilla. The incense really come through in the middle and then fade but not completely disappear in the background. It reminds me of Georgia by Robin McGraw. They are very similar in how they smell to my nose. The longevity is incredible 12+ hours. Silage is arms length easy for 4 hours. It's inoffensive,just quality and very well done.

Pencil shavings in the best possible manner. Maybe she has spent the afternoon at her desk under the sun filled window, sketching and drawing, rubbing the pencil shading in with her fingers, running her leadened hands through her hair, mixing it all together with a deep rose that evokes antique furniture and old books, a library that insists its spices whisper. Then she sharpens her pencil, the wood and lead mingling in the air.

Epic extract de parfum is my second Amouge after Interlude. This is my treasure and gem, my love of the rest of my life. Where have I been for 10 years? The scent is all about spices, rose and incense. I find it perfect for any season, any occasion, any time. Longevity 12+ hours, silage is also more than average. I constantly get compliments from my husband when I wear it. Beautiful, different, deep, interesting, alluring...

This is The Perfume for me, of which I've never had a bottle due to its price. I buy samples every now and then to experience it - it's deep and complex, very long lasting on my skin (and near forever on clothes - it survives washing), oriental, feminine but not girly. The spices, flowers and woods together create something unique - I have yet to find a similar scent. I highly recommend to try a sample - it's a revelation.

Sampled this one recently in a mall and just found out that my wife has an old sample (more than 10 years old). Very nice & lovely perfume. Elegant, classy & not overly feminine and its surprisingly similar to Perles De Lalique but obviously you can smell quality here and its a bit more rosey & powdery. I'm a big lover of patchouli, rose, pepper mix in perfumes. Therefore, this epic woman hits the spot for me. 9/10

Love at first sniff. I'm a rose hound, and this is a most unusual rose iteration, hiding behind unexpected spice notes, gentle green aspects (the tea?) and a gorgeous, complex, resinous base. Full bottle worthy on my skin, but I'm wild about rose. I don't think I'm wearing this to work, and it's hot 9 months of the year here, so a bit impractical, but it's just a beautiful fragrance.

A fellow perfume lover identified this as a potential substitute for the unattainable Sensuous Noir. It is -- after the first couple of minutes. Beautiful spicy amber fragrance. I think this has been reformulated. I initially tested a boxed sample from Amouage that was probably the initial release. The box I bought has the new packaging and I think it is a little lighter performing.
