Esprit d'Amouage

De silagem ótima, quando veste-se desta fragrância, e o mundo curva-se!!sensualíssimo, como sensual sou!!!

The opening is a bit unisex - herbs, nothing else. But it fades quickly and leaves weak, soapy aroma, maybe after few hours I can detect some herb again, but just an inch over the skin, it's dry and bitter, maybe a little bit like Eau d'Hadrien, but it's not so "italian", sunny and lovely. I don't imagine oriental perfume this way. Not worth its price ;)

Amouage ESPRIT D'AMOUAGE opens with a bayleaf redolent, rather crispy texture reminiscent in some ways of the rhubarb note of Bond no 9 HIGH LINE. Happily, this composition is more wearable on my skin. I like how the herbal opening mingles with the magnolia, freesia, and labdanum making this only lightly flowery but still perfumey in its own right. The vanilla is not even detectable to my nose--this is definitely not sweet! Easily as appropriate for men as for women ESPRIT D'AMOUAGE has pretty good staying power. All in all, I'd say that I like but do not love this perfume, which is not so much oriental as sui generis, defying as it does neat classification. I hate to return to the issue of price, but it strikes me as absolutely relevant when it comes to Amouage, which costs about ten times more than some of my favorite perfumes! I would have to be madly in love--as in, would rather die than live without it--in order to muster up the motivation and means to add any of the Amouage line-up to my collection. It may be that they have the swankiest packaging around, but I am far more interested in the juice.
