If there’s one truly exceptional aspect about Honour Man, it’s undeniably the representation of the pepper accord. I’m not kidding; this must be the best natural-smelling, pepper-forward fragrance I’ve encountered. Crafting this accord is notoriously challenging for perfumers, and this fragrance stands out for its realism, unlike the “illusions” often found in other releases. On one hand, this stands as the best black pepper fragrance of all time, unrivaled and unmatched. On the other hand, its dry-down ventures into familiar territory, avoiding bold risks. TOP NOTES Honour opens up with an intensified pepper that is not for the faint of heart. I detect metallic, citric, green, and woody facets that are blended and infused together. This combination of pink and black pepper is quite spectacular, as mentioned in the preceding paragraphs. It’s so natural-smelling that it could potentially make you sneeze, just like the real thing. Dark and fresh, it gradually calms down as time progresses. HEART NOTES In the heart notes, the spiciness remains, but resins and greenness start to blossom. This transformation is thanks to the elemi resin, which enhances pine-like balsamic qualities along with a lemony aroma. I’m pleased that the perfumer chose to introduce something like this in the heart notes, preventing the fragrance from becoming dry before the drydown. BASE NOTES With a rich base featuring all the listed notes, I expected more. The prized Omani frankincense is present and saves the composition. However, the remainder of the dry down is dominated by a super-dry vetiver alongside a white musk accord. I can’t believe I’m going to say this, but I wish the nutty tonka bean was present, giving it a slight sweetness. OVERALL I contend that the dry down could have benefited from an additional boost, perhaps through the inclusion of amber or a more pronounced tonka bean. Despite its glorious representation of black and pink pepper, it’s worth noting that the fragrance stays remarkably close to the authentic black pepper aroma, a characteristic that may not resonate with everyone. It seems that Amouage cannot win. Is such a high-priced luxury house deserving of my sympathy? I think so. Many people complain that Amouage fragrances are too heavy, complex and hard-hitting for easy every-day use and wearability. Then, when the house introduces a softer and more subtle fragrance to their line, people cry out that it's not special, hard-hitting or noteworthy enough! I tried this on at the same time as Interlude Man (one on each wrist). I would place these fragrances at opposite ends of the spectrum (I think most would agree). Honour provided an interesting counterpoint to Interlude Man. I could compare the development of both throughout the day. Yes it's softer, more subtle, but it's a beautiful fragrance, with the trademark incense and a touch of floral. I'm seriously considering purchasing a full bottle of this as well as Interlude. I think Honour could be an excellent every-day, all-season Amouage, not too obtrusive, but still with the quality ingredients and longevity that typify this House. UPDATE: Tried another sample of this one today and was even more impressed than first time round. Honour Man is far from "overrated" I believe it is CRIMINALLY UNDERRATED. The peppery opening was nice but did not last too long. For the first hour I got a really strong and fresh lemon/lime note (yet no citrus accords are contained in the official note pyramid - the elemi?). Then the citrus and the pepper residue were slowly submerged under creamy waves of milky incense and geranium. The sweetness of the fragrance becomes stronger without ever getting cloying. Honour Man is gentle and subtle, but in no way weak. He has a strong, quiet presence. He is someone who knows his own quiet inner strength, without the need to make an outward display of strength through boldness, brashness or arrogance. This is perfume mastery.

Honour Man is a superb and classy quality scent for men. Strong, spicy, smoky, woody, a little sweet and powdery are everything that characterize it. Strong and powerful spices like peppers, incense and geranium are a combination that not everybody likes it. It is love or hate for the first moment. So I can understand the negative reviews although it remains a true amouage with exceptional quality. It opens strongly with pink and black pepper while the nutmeg comes almost immediately. After some time geranium comes to the surface among with deep and rich woody vetiver. As time passes appear more notes like cedar, elemi and the rest. it becomes tame and smooth. The begining is realy strong for any nose but beautiful! The longevity on my skin is about 10 hours and the projection is heavy. With two-three sprays you can fill a room. I highly recomend it for winter, fall and cool spring days. Definitely not for hot weather. The most distinguished notes I get are pink pepper, incense, nutmeg, tonka bean, vetiver and geranium. The other notes are quite noticable except a weak musk. I've already bought my bottle and I do not regret it because it is a superb juice and I love it! Do not be affected from the negative reviews until you personally try on your own skin the Honour Man.

I blind bought this and it came in today, and I just want to say that this is the most slept on amouage I’ve ever come across. Nobody talks about it, it doesn’t have great ratings, it’s completely forgotten in the Amouage line up, and it’s so good. Opens with a blast of pink and black pepper, and, when complimented with the sticky, chewy, and layered resins, the fragrance is refreshing, delectable, and mouthwatering at the same time. It’s not “fresh” as people describe it, but it is refreshing. Honour is much more layered and resinous with a sweet chewy texture than people are describing it to be. This is a sleeper, and (don’t hate me) this is so so so much better than reflection man. Honour is as versatile and beautiful as reflection, but it’s more unique, more layered, and, honestly, it’s just a more interesting fragrance. Don’t get me wrong, I love reflection and will still buy a bottle, but Honour man is a strong 9.8/10.

Honour Man opens with a powerful plume of pepper, then proceeds to a juicy aldehydic geranium, and... Is that apple? Apple isn't listed as a note, but it definitely reminds me of apple. Vetiver is playing a supporting role here, never taking the front stage. During drydown, that hypnotic signature Amouage incense suddenly pops up, waiting until the end of the party to make itself known. The scent has limited sillage, as everyone who noticed it had to get pretty close first. It stays on clothes for an excess 16 hours, so I'd say it has pretty good staying power. All in all, Honour is a fresh, juicy, and aromatic aroma. Wearable in any season, but particularly well-suited to the spring and fall. The combination of notes present is pretty common, so for me I'd have to pass on the big bucks and look for a comparable and more affordable scent. It's a quality fragrance to be sure, but not what I consider a luxury fragrance.

Well the first time I tried this I promise you it smelled like a carpet shop I even had my girlfriend smell it and when asked what it reminded her of without prompting she said 'A carpet shop.' So I'd had my first review validated... to a degree. I have to say I've worn a healthy application of this juice a couple of times now...so a fair trial one would imagine. And I've concluded it doesn't smell like a carpet shop. Honour man is remarkably fresh, I get a floral pink peppery, mild incense nothing heavy or jarring in here and it's nice, and reasonably powerful. That is all though, I didn't get monstrous longevity or the power you get from the likes of the recent Interlude. This to me is a more palatable version of Fate, if you like the general middle eastern lite TM feel of Amouage scents but don't want a powerhouse of woods and density then this would be a good choice.

At first I did not recognize how good Honour Man was. That happens when you test too many scents within a very short time and secondly if you don't give it time to develop. Opening is very floral and fresh, leaning towards a soapy profile but this soapy opening faded away after testing it for 4 days - that happens for some parfumes during the first sprays (like Akaster by PDM). Then geranium and the well balanced peppers adds to the fragrance and it starts to show bolder masculine DNA, which was hidden a bit in the opening. Great blend made with a great inspiration. Would say this is a crowd pleaser.....a genuine one indeed. Now I've tested Honour for several days and finally I realize how it is actually a sparkling gem. This is definitely among the best releases by Amouage. Scent: 9.5/10 Longevity: 8.5/10 Sillage: 8,5/10 Price: 7/10 Final verdict: 9/10

Floral you asked? This is one of the best male florals out there. Geranium is my favourite note and I can be a bit biased but this is absolutely amazing. Clean, natural (or should I say übernatural) and floral, this is the medieval perfume of the Turkish Sultan. Very peppery in the opening yes but this is a geranium themed cologne and it excels in every department. It smells like geranium mixed with gum mastic. This is a wonderful experience for any man, woman or couple. If you are a man you will feel privileged wearing this and your self-esteem will hit rocket high. If you are a woman and your ex used to wear this and now he left you for good then I am sure you will buy this and spray on your pillows before you sleep and cry a river. This must be the perfume of Suleiman the Magnificent. This stuff is powerful. Beware.

Honour is the lightest of the "Men" series, a softer and more subtle fragrance than you would expect from the Amouage house. The pepper can be polarizing. The entire package of toned-down ingredients, including the cedar, patchouli and musk combined with an earthy, vegetal, damp hay or hemp accord strikes me as somewhat similar to Black Afgano. The big difference from BA is that Honour is not as dark, with subtle florals and spices that add a touch of freshness. I, too, find Honour Man underrated. I think it is safe but not mainstream. Two downsides: longevity and projection are below average. Also -- and this has nothing to do with the scent -- while I respect Christopher Chong's creative genius, why would he name a perfume after an Opera character's suicide? 8.5/10.

I have come to understand a very important aspect about fragrance. Particularly whether or not you have something transcendent in your hands. There is a big misconception regarding function. It is your responsibility to choose wisely when it comes to applying fragrance. A fragrance should heighten and match the mood you are already in instead of hoping to change your mindset by spraying a kind of aromatherapy. I am not saying something like that doesn't exist, of course it does, but what I am saying is that a fragrance can be as close to art, if not more, as art can get. You do not tell a Picasso to make you feel better; you look at it in a kind of awe and take its mastery in. I suggest you do the same thing here.

One of the most versatile Amouages. Initially it opens up with a strong and sharp "crushed peppercorns" smell, very intense and realistic. After 10 minutes and especially after the first hour, it dries down to a smooth, balsamic elemi + vetiver combo. Very classy and masculine smelling. Pepper still subtly lingers in the background but the scent is mostly balsamic, woody and tiny bit smoky. Great longevity. Even 10 hours after applying it, I still get whiffs of it when I move my head. Projection is moderate but very persistent for hours. Very versatile as well, I feel like it could be worn in any season except summer and in pretty much for every occasion except the gym of course.

After chasing Honour Woman after a flirtatious fling with an unmarked decant for a year, I finally caught up with her in my local perfumery. Match! Honour woman was the Cindarella slipper fit I had searched so long for. I broke the bank for the joy of that cloud of pure femininity. Then, by pure accident I tested Honour Man and found that after all this time...I'd actually fallen for her big brother. All the strata of blossom and rich notes, that Amouage alchemy that fills a room and has the most resilient of nostrils flaring for more. It surrounds you with a genderless cloud of intrigue. Layered both perfumes and the result was ecstasy for all involved.

This is criminally underrated, one of the best offerings from amouage. This is the true definition of a fresh spicy scent, the balance between" the fresh green calming scent and the sharp spicy scent is magnificent for me" I classify the fragrance as an aromatic fougere. The scent is a fresh spicy, little citrusy, little floral with vetiver backbone. The fragrance is so classy to me, with a high quality ingredients ( which amouage are always known of) The peppery notes are not too sharp or overwhelming at all, but so smooth. Projection and longevity are good. This fragrance is one of my top 5 favorite fragrance profiles of all time, highly recommended.

Wonderful scent, but the guy below me who said its like a combo of Bulgari Man And Marc Jacobs Bang is surprisingly right on. Lovely though. Rich and spicy but still very bright and totally "wearable". Update: Wore this to a formal function over the weekend and it performed beautifully. It was going strong and projecting nicely 4 hours into a crowded party and smelled great. BTW when I said this smelled like two designer fragrances (Bang and BVlgari Man) of course it goes without saying this is of a higher quality. It is Amouage after all. Even though I wore this to a formal event I do think this is ultimately more of a casual, relaxed fragrance.

After long and intensive testing of the whole 'Man' (14 pieces) line from this brand Honour is the one that I prefer the most. Most of the offerings are from the dark incensy and woody kind...nothing groundbreaking, nothing new and certainly not worth the price. To me there are four that are different: Dia man, Ciel Man, Reflection Man and my final choice Honour Man, a perfect and unique smelling symbiosis (and surely not a copy) of the scents mentioned by Alfarom: Encre Noire, CDG2Man, Sel De Vetiver, Sycomore and especially Ormonde Man. To me Amouage Honour Man is what Ormonde Man should have been...that's the point! 9/10

I noticed this was going for a good price on Allbeauty so I bought a bottle. It's not half as peppery as some of the YouTubers would have me believe. I think it's a gentle, fresh aromatic, suited more for the spring or summer. The opening was a little unpleasant, but the geranium and the pepper soon smooth out into something really quite pleasant. The longer drydown left me with a peppery, clean vetiver. Reminds me of a slightly less vegetal, less expensive and longer lasting French Lover by Frederic Malle. This will make a nice swap-out for the more established, popular and sweeter Reflection on summer days.

Imagine yourself in Santorini in Greece. You see the white houses, you are walking around midday and you see those little plants sprouting on the ground. Warm sun touches your face and amazingly you aren't sweating even if its noon. You walk around and admire the wonderful view not noticing that its almost dusk. You now went home to your lodging after you had dinner, your went straight to your room. The room looks rustic almost like rooms in ancient Greece. You smell the aged wood used to create the bed you are lying on. You felt peace. You wished this vacation would never end.

The most ''fresh'' Amouage fragrance that I have ever smelled. Amouage and cool it's almost an antonym. Then, the majority of the fragrances of this house are multilayered and heavy an oriental form. Honour Man it's aromatic, crisp and tangy. Then, suitable for spring and summer and versatile. If you like Allure Homme Edition Blanche, you will like Honour Man. For me are enough similars since both share a creamy citrus point. Packaging: 6/10 Quality: 10/10 Scent: 8/10 Uniqueness: 6/10 Longevity: 8/10 Sillage: 8/10 Versatility: 7/10 Overall: 7.57

I love this fragrance. I find myself reaching for it more often than I originally thought I would after trying a sample. It's warm and very pleasing on the nose. It's the sort of fragrnce I also like a few sprays of in the evening. It works very well with the concept of an open fire and a glass of wine. I would not rate this a as a young person's choice, but it would depend on your strength of character. I am very glad to have bought a full bottle and would continue to keep in stock. A good choice.

Longevity - 7h ( more then 7 sprays) Silage- medium to soft This fragrance is just amazing, it’s a fougere style fragrance which I like. Some say that this is the worst Amouage or nothing special, I would say they are full of crap. It’s quite manly over 25 y . It’s office friendly and special events. I give 9/10 personaly if I have to guess for the average person probably 7/10. If you like sweet fragrance don’t even try buying it because it’s the opposite.

Immediate pepper bomb in the opening, if you ever want a very obvious black pepper fragrance note, this is clearly one of them. Resinous, spicy, woody. This is a fresh pepper/spice bomb fragrance for sure, and I think for that reason alone anyone who says this is a completely safe or simple profile is wrong. This certainly stands out in my collection, and is quite interesting to me. The development is good too, and does become less spicy over time. 8.5/10

Perfect! The best pepper based scent I`ve smelled. Under the strong woody peppery topnotes, there is a soft refined geranium / nutmeg combo that almost smell a bit creamy. It's quite fresh also, and actually very versatile to be a Amouage scent. I just can't understand how some can compare this with a mainstream designer-scent.. It has very good stayingpower, and the sillage is just perfect. It's gorgeous, and one of my top-favorites from Amouage. 9/10

Super underrated masculine/business Power scent. Performs like a champ. Too much pepper for the summer but dominates in every other season and category. Very designer-ish but beautiful ingredients imo. Geranium and pepper over a smooth as hell vetiver and cedar base. Straddles the line between serious and bright. As I said, perfect for the 30 and up professional. Dior Homme 2020 but with balls and natural, distinct notes.

So many times I think this scent is gone and then I get a beautiful whiff of it around me. This starts super peppery with a citrus undertone from the elemi and pink pepper. Is stays fresh and even a little green. As it drys down, the pepper moves to the back and the florals move in with the elemi. The tonka and vetiver add a creamy woodiness. This is a very fresh scent and also a light scent great for warmer weather.

I feel like this smells a lot like Pharrell Williams Girl, but Girl is more impactful. Girl is said by many to resemble Amouage Portrayal Man. It has added lavender and violet that this doesn't, but they share quite a few notes - pepper in the top, resin in the middle (styrax for Girl, Elemi for this) and both have sandalwood, vetiver, cedar and patchouli in the base. Quite similar! Check it out!

Just picked up an Amouage sampler set. First out of the box is Honour. Beautiful. Sublime. Peppery, spicy and soapy fresh. Long-lasting with a moderate projection. This has grabbed a couple of compliments today. As I work with a bunch of ‘beyond reproach’ HR folks, you can read into that what you’d like. Can see me spunking $350 for a big bottle of this. Starts of with Storng Pepper Note which give it this metallic vibe. As the peppery note subdues, geranium and elemi start to work there magic in fragrance. Elemi give this fragrance that fresh and Woody element. As the fragrance drys down i detect Patchouli, Tonka Bean, Cedar, Musk and Incense. This fragrance is a masterpiece but not as dark as the other Amouage releases.

Hate to be a philistine because the other fragrances I tried from this brand absolutely blew me away and I consider them to be brilliant. This to me smells exactly like the smell when you walk into a carpet shop. Not that that's a bad smell...just a weird thing to want to smell like. I suspect the dry down is better and reveals more but I couldn't get past that opening.

Indeed reminds me of Bvlgari - Man...like a lot + the smokiness in the background...fantastic combination !!! Very masculine, very sexy, for men in their 40's, lots of compliments at work. Slightly disappointed with the performance on my skin, compared to the other aftershaves from Amouage, about 5 to 6 hours only. Overall: another killer from this house.

@Patchouli_King - It's weird I know, but that's how I perceived the fragrance initially - I could have sworn there was citrus/lime in the opening hour or two (it's the elemi). It took a few wears for me to get the other notes and the full progression of the fragrance. Now, it's the black pepper I mostly get in the opening...

Honour and Jubilation are my favorites from Amouage. They are almost perfect creations. But there is a problem. The Honour, that i bought 3 years ago had 6-8 hours longevity. But the new ones are really week. It does not Last even 1 hour. I tired different boutiques but the result was the same. Im really disappointed....

I thank the fragrance gods for discovery kits and decants from this house otherwise I would not be able to experience this scent. If comfort had a smell this would be it. The scent gives me the warmth of the best hug I've ever had. Everyone deserves this one in their life. It's unisex if you like spicy fresh scents.

The choice of black and pink pepper is so well done in honour man. The elemi is sweet and chewy, which is the perfect counterpart to the spicy peppers. Very classically masculine, smooth, and well done. It kind of smells like a black pepper shower gel. Lasts about 10 hours, moderate projection

Love this - rich, dry, spicy and long lasting - the rose rears it's head as the scent develops, interspersed with cedar, smoothed by tonka and patchouli. Will work for you day and night, winter to summer - versatile and charismatic, a truly remarkable and modern scent.

This on paper is horrible. But on skin, wow. Its spicy but not overbearing, and the elemi and geranium give this fragrance an almost fresh citrus feel. It is incredible and I will definitely be purchasing a full bottle in the future. 8/10

Love it finally ;) It took some time to realize how good it smells ... soft, peppery, intimate - unlike many others. And if you forgot to put your t-shirt into washing machine - this perfume will remind you 'bout it even after 48 hours )

everyday GENTLEMAN scent not just some regular guy. smells basic but classy and clean like something you can wear to a job interview. this smells like you to a #2 pencil and broke it in half and smelt the pencil. :) 9\10 for me

As Amouage has portrayal which smells pretty similar to farenheit, honour smells pretty similar to sauvage edt, if you don't believe it, go and grab a bottle of sauvage and make the comparison.

one of my favourite amouage! the opening is a bit too pepperish but the dry down is just so awesome! fresh soapy woody aromatic scent, performance is also really good overall 8.5/10

One of the finest offerings from Amouage, and among the few that can be worn effortlessly on a daily basis. A beautifully clean, fresh, and musky DNA that never fails to impress.

A great fragrance but severely underrated....Spicy, woody with very light incense and resins....great performance and longevity....

slightly sour, woody, drydown woody/vetiver and light elemi...longevity all day on clothes, more than 6hr on skin.

This is Amouage version of Bleu de Chanel Parfume. Interesting, long lasting, works great in mild heat.
