Interlude 53 Man

This stuff is so good, it almost make me want to cry. I put one spray on my left hand and this juice smelled absolutely incredible, absolutely divine, magnificent. Amouage is officially the best house in the entire world, who else has such a diverse great collection of fragrances to choose from that are superb creations to be reckoned with? Maybe I got luck with the bottle I have because this juice in my hand is out of this world good, I will be writing Amouage a thank you letter/email for their stunning works of art, King Blue, Overture man/woman, Journey, Search, Imitation, Gold, Royal Tobacco, all these one's I was able to get my nose on are Terrific, I can't stop wearing Interlude 53 this stuff is Sublime, Heaven in a Bottle, can't think of anything I have smelled that is so well blended, so complex and beautiful as this one. Made me feel like I was in Heaven with beautiful Angels. This might be the fragrance that GOD wears, so so GOOD. 100 out of 10 for me. This is how Interlude should be done, Interlude Man Perfected, minus the harshness. Masterpiece scent. Thank you Amouage for this Legendary Scent, Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou. Just smelled the newest batch of Interlude Man, it smells exactly like 53, I tried Black Iris as well, does not smell anything like Interlude, I almost bought a bottle of the stuff too, do not get the Iris, Get 53 then if you can't find it discounted get The original. This juice is heavenly, I would stock pile all these bottles so no one else can have it, this stuff is priceless, Nuclear Beast mode longest lasting scent ever created, smells fabulous, I'm waiting to see if stock gets low, if people realize how good this juice is I will instantly buy a 2nd bottle if I haven't already, maybe a 3rd bottle, this might be the best Fragrance, my favorite of my entire collection, Potent stuff, magical, delicious, not offensive at all, the original new formulation smells exactly like Interlude 53, of course without the longevity being 53% oils, still will be super beast mode, this stuff is incredible, nothing else like, super unique, no other brand will ever be able to clone this, I would buy 100 bottles of the 53 if I could, not sure how this one is not sold out, epic Fragrance for everyone to enjoy. Just got this Expensive Bottle $520 from the Official Site. Wow this version is way better than the original Interlude. I pick up the Bergamot, then a beautiful dose of Incense. This stuff is great. Today, I'm wearing 53 and I'm smelling delicious honey, this has to be the most magical Scent ever created, that can take you on amazing adventures. I keep smelling new notes from this juice. I'm picking up Hops, beautiful stunning smell of fresh hops, this potent Luxury sauce Lasts forever. So much better than the original, so dynamic, so so good, my favorite Niche house. This Flanker is absolutely amazing you have to get your nose on it if you can or just try the new Interlude batches they smell exactly like 53 but of course at the $520 price point 53 will be better but by how much? I can't say but they both smell pretty much exactly the same. I put one spray on each hand a few days ago, it's going and going forever. Read 100's of reviews to make sure I would like this remix of the Original, and it did not disappoint. The original choked people out when I wore it. This one is way way smoother, so much better, not cloying. I have not found a better beast mode than this bottle. I tested Kerosene followed, not beastly enough, Mancera Red Tobacco, not good enough, and didn't like the smell that much of Red Tobacco Intense, maybe the Original Red Tobacco is good, not the intense at all. Almost all amouage line is super complex, beautifully blended, such a great house, my favorite so far with all of their selection, there is something for everyone. I have overture, what a masterpiece, I wanted to smell this great fragrance, but the sample was empty. The best fragrances are the complex ones, not the one note hitters like Baccarat Rouge where your basically just smelling Saffron. Interlude 53 is so good, fantastic beast mode #1 on Planet Earth in My Opinion of Beast Mode Frags, the new Interlude batches and at least the 53 i know because I own a bottle is leagues above everything else right now.

This is one of those fragrances that I (paradoxical to the notion of 'wearing' fragrance itself) do not even review for its wearability or practicality. I think we have established for quite some time that it is difficult for most to find a good occasion to wear this. In fact, I've only sprayed from my bottle a few times in the many years since I've owned this - almost all being for my own satisfaction (ie. Not for public use). Now, to the fragrance itself: masterclass. At a level of it's own. It's been out for some time, with plenty of microbrands to try and borrow stylistic ideas from but none to replicate it's glory. Remember, we're talking about a even smoother, denser and more powerful Interlude Man. It will truly take you through an olfactory experience - a museum - where each occasion you spray it, it elicits different memories and curiosities about the various regions and history that inspired this fragrance. It's original, dark and timeless. Dare I say one of the best men's fragrances ever created. The breakdown is the same as Interlude (and well covered by those below) only with a slightly different emphasis on specific notes within the composition - luckily all the notes I love. Less oregano, smokier, dense, and smoother than the original. While eternally lasting, it's projection is more tame and elegant. I've seen some suggest that the original is more nuanced/complex and I respectfully disagree. I believe that the original (maybe just from the lower oil content) may give that illusion as each individual note "stabs" out at you more. This is smooth. Interestingly, for how long Interlude has been out and with plenty of dupes on the horizon (Midnight Oud being the only tolerable one), I think the community has lost appreciation for the originality and flawless execution of this release by Amouage. Like I mentioned, I've owned it for years but never felt compelled to drop my note of appreciation until I saw this recent indifference. With the popularity of Black Iris (which is much more wearable imo) on certain social media platforms such as Tiktok, a different and certainly younger/teenage audience has ended up trying this one out and I've seen the original Interlude's (and 53's) reviews/ratings precipitously drop since. I don't think it does justice to this as this fragrance is not so suitable for younger men. A mature man - especially those into Middle Eastern perfumery - should use every opportunity to test this one out. Even 5-10mL will last you years.

Thick, oily beast. A bit rounder, smoother and better blended than the original interlude IMHO. What's so great about this when compared to the original is that it is verrrry slow in its evolution, just when you think it has settled into its final form, it completely changes into its next phase. In the first phase, you get the very spicy and herbal facets with lots of smoke, pimento, oregano and a bit of sparkly bergamot at the top, it's a blast in your face and the brightest, most aromatic stage. Honestly it takes about 1 hour just to leave the opening, and then I'd say about 3 hours in is when it really starts to settle into what we know as interlude. For this phase, you get that classic, rounded interlude smell which don't get me wrong is very beautiful, powerful and unique but also a bit challenging for me, it's almost a bit angry smelling, almost instills a feeling of instability. Not in a way that makes it unpleasant but it can certainly bring forward an intense mood. Very smokey and ambery in the phase with the herbs toned down a bit. Some perfumes are "cozy", "intimate", "warm hug", "comforting". This is not that. Or at least not until later. The words that come to mind during this middle phase are "massive", "cavernous", "dark", "Immense", "abyssal." You can expect a couple hours of this at least, and because it is less punchy than the beginning phase, your mind can be tricked into thinking you aren't projecting but trust me this stuff is still beaming off of you monstrously. Now past the 7 hour phase is when things start to really settle in and you get more of the warm, resinous, woody aspects. This is what I consider to be the start of the true dry-down. Hours 7-15 are when you are met with the most beautiful, luxurious, sillage. You really start to smell the oud, the leather, the woods and resins. the stage is truly intoxicating, addictive and inviting. Unquestionably, my favorite part of the whole wear experience, never smelled anything else like it. You can expect a 16 hour experience on skin so this is a big commitment. If you spray this on your clothes, expect them to smell like interlude for weeks and weeks. It won't go away until it's thoroughly washed. A work of art, not for utility, not for someone who just wants to smell nice. A true 10 in my eyes.

Extremely Loud, Intense, Spicy, Incensey, Balsamic and Smokey. Shiny layer of oil settles on the skin. This is louder than the og. First sprays immediately enormously fills a room. Silage trail is pretty awesome. The Fiery spicy pepper and the dried green oregano opening you'll need to like and enjoy. The Incensey and yet beautiful heavy amber labdanum you've got to let yourself soak it in and feel it. The drydown is as beautiful and lovely. Og vs 53...my simple thoughts... the dry green oregano seems tuned down, the frankincense seems stronger, the sweet sticky amber seems louder, richer, denser, rounder, fuller, deeper. Og vs 53... officially from Amouage reply... "Interlude 53 concentrate went through a full 8 weeks maturation while the final fragrance was left in maceration for a total of 16 weeks, carefully monitoring its evolution every four weeks. As a comparison, the original Interlude Man Eau de Parfum goes through 3 weeks of maturation and 3 weeks of maceration and you get more deep base note and has 25% of concentrate. Interlude 53 is so rich, deep, textured and the way it develops is amazing. Definitely smells Interlude but without the opening “punch”, you get to smell the other ingredients that you do not smell in the original, and the dry down is beautiful." That's 42 days vs 180 days.. Now... Interlude 53 is not for the beginners and lightweight users. Its catered towards a specific base who enjoys the above Olfactory journey by using it. If you feel you are up for a challenge, grab a bottle.

I disagree, the iris version is taken over by the iris completely making it almost a totally difference fragrance. You barely smell the interlude DNA, the new interlude formulation is fantastic, don't need to second guess it with the iris version. No doubt the OG 2017 bottles were mega beast mode, so much I love the new ones, I am getting the skanky batch 2017 with interlude written on the side of the bottles in the mail this Wednesday because I love the new Interlude 53 so much I want the most power beast which is the 2017 version, harsh? Maybe if you spray 5 times try one or two for the perfect experience. Interlude 53 is incredible, I will be getting a 2nd bottle when mine runs out. I hear myth's man has similar vibe to Interlude, but this one is discontinued. Anything that smells like Interlude I would love to try, if it's like 53. I believe Hindu Kush from Mancera is compared to interlude, plus it has great reviews on their top sellers on the official site. Interlude 53 is magical, can't recommend it enough, 10/10 Beast mode, great dry down, compliments? Not yet but I'm not around a lot of people as much as others. The perfect environment is office type setting for compliments, not outside in the wind wear your scent will be everywhere blowing to who knows what. I know because I got 2 incredible compliments with two different scents in the office, at a previous job. Two of my managers said I smell amazing after putting a cheap essential oil on, won't see which one, my trade secret. Went to a smoke shop, lady behind the counter said I smell incredible! All from a simple cheap essential oil 100% oil, to think you can get compliments without paying hundreds of dollars. Looking to get a bottle of Dior Homme Intense, just got Angels share, not really impressed by that one, the dry down is where it shines the most. Interlude 53 is hands down the best fragrance ever created.

This was a blind buy for me, and I must say it was a successful blind buy (I haven't even tried original Interlude). I bought it for 490 euro and I was intrigued by the very high oil concentration and that it's very dark. 🖤 The main notes here are the Royal frankincense from Oman 👑 & the amber accord which sit on a smooth leather accord. There's balsamic sweetness from the opoponax (which is a sweet myrrh) and the sandalwood gives it creamy elegance along with grounded earthiness from the patchouli. But overall this is a warm ambery fragrance with frankincense, which is the hallmark of the house of Amouage. 👑 In the cooler months this will definitely bring sweet resinous cozy warmth to your soul ♨️ It is also a very smooth and well blended formulation that has been aged for six months at Amouage. This really reflects in the exceptional smoothness of the formulation, it's so well-rounded. ✨ Regarding the famous oregano note that was present in the original Interlude, I can't say that I smell an oregano note here on its own. Yes it's a woody fragrance but you can't say that there's an oregano note present, it might be there but it's so well blended that you definitely can't single it out! And I'll also add that due to the high oil concentration and 6 months ageing, the fragrance almost skips the top notes and heads directly to the heart & base notes throughout the whole journey of the fragrance on your skin & clothes, which explains why the oregano note seems to be absent. Performance is exceptional and this is a bold fragrance but not challenging in any way. This is a bold opulent fragrance, almost regal! 👑 A video review is also available on my YT ▶️

You know how some fragrances are 2D? They are very linear, they might be good, but most of the time very boring, and mass appealing with no much development? Now there are plenty of 3D fragrances, they have different nuances and development. Now... this.. this, right here is 4D. I can't even describe it. The way it develops is like a blooming kaleidoscope, with so many facets, such a deepness, and such a wild development. Definitely not a beginner fragrance. Might be very off putting to a beginner nose. If I could break it down, I would say the 3 main actors in this fragrance are: 1) amber 2) smoke 3) spices (mostly oregano). The ambers are so beautiful, deep, with so many different nuances, they are almost sweet, fruity, clean and cozy. I can't even pin point how they are, they just feel so royal and deep. The smoke is like camp fire in the wind, some times I get more of it, some times I get less, its like the fire is blowing in the wind and the smoke is changing directions actively. The spices are like a spice bazaar. I guess I can even say Italian kitchen, I know oregano sounds so wierd in a fragrance but it adds such a unique aspect to it, some earthyness. It is definitely s fragrance you wear for yourself. You're gonna smell it all day and if you like it, you will enjoy it. It is not something you wear to appease others, but to appease yourself. If I could paint a picture I would say it is how king Solomon smelled like, walking through old Jerusalem. Just smell so royal, and clean, but yet so down to earth, and dirty. Definitely an outstanding fragrance with amazing performance.

Interlude Man dialed up to 11 (or 53 I guess). Interlude 53 is an even stronger and more intense version of the original Interlude Man, yet despite this I still feel it's a really wearable scent, not to mention an incredible one just like the original and Black Iris. Interlude 53 is spicier and has more oregano and smokey incense, maintaining the resinous sweetness of the original untouched. The added spiciness and incense are handled perfectly, as they add just enough contrast to the opoponax's sweetness to work alongside it instead of smothering it. This is obviously not going to be for everyone, my mom and my sister weren't big fans of this one despite them liking Interlude Man, but I definitely recommend trying this if you like the DNA. Performance is beastly, this is one of the most potent Amouage fragrances out there. Projection is easily room filling strong, with a dense sillage that isn't overwhelming at all. I went out for lunch yesterday, got back home and when my mom walked into the room after being away a few minutes she said the entire room smelled like this. This happened over two hours after spraying this on, so this radiates very strongly for a few hours. I spent several hours at the mall after that and, excluding stores with a lot of fragrances in the air like B&BW, I could smell myself without a problem all the time. Longevity was an effortless 9 hours but I went to bed around that time, my guess is this reaches 12 hours without lifting a finger, and this was spraying a sample, not even a decant that sprays more juice or a full sized bottle.

The original Interlude was special....and still is. I smoke pipe tobacco and there's a blend called Hunters Moon that Interlude's dry-down reminded me of. The pimento/oregano in the opening was a little difficult to take in but the dry-down was worth the wait because it was special to me. The pimento/oregano in Interlude 53 is still there but the corners are rounded and easily wearable. The mid brings in the incense and is still supported by the top. This is where the comment start coming in from people around you. I've been wearing this to Christmas parties and family get-together's these last couple of weeks and garners a lot of attention. At around the 10 hour mark is where this starts to turn to a sweet/cigar vibe. I wish this came a lot earlier in the day but it's one of the best dry-down's I've ever had my nose on. As a cigar/pipe smoker (profile name "Robusto" is a cigar size), Interlude 53 is everything I look for in a fragrance. I wore this for a day out with the guys over the weekend and my wife asked me when I got home if I had my pouch of Hunters Moon on me because I smelled like sweet pipe tobacco!! Is it full-bottle worthy? If you have a spare $400-$500 laying around and can afford to buy it, yes.....100% full-bottle worthy. Hint...Hint.....the longevity on this is absolutely insane and can easily fill a room with 4 sprays....buy a 10ml decant...it will last you years if you have a decent fragrance rotation! I own the original Interlude, Black Iris, and Interlude 53. This rendition (Interlude 53) is the best IMO....without a doubt. Cheers!

It is deep, bold, opulent, complex, sexy, rich with the same King’s vibe and uniqueness of the original Interlude. Incense and balsamic resin dominates the experience from start to finish with the smokiness and amber underneath. Compared to the original, It is smoother with less harsh spikes of oregano and smoke throughout the journey. It lasts longer than original and it will send waves of balsamic incense smoke around you even after 12h of wearing. I absolutely love that combination of smokiness with resin Myrrh sweetness and wild oregano. It is everything that fragrance should be. Overall it lasts 24h on my skin. After 12-14h it starts to project less and stays closer to the skin. It is everything that should be expected from exceptional extrait. Very very high quality. I like to wear both, Interlude and Interlude 53 anytime, anywhere, any occasion, any season. Number of sprays adjusted based on conditions. It will shine with more elegant well dressed outfit but it will also elevate any other. If you love it, it will love you back. Along with original Interlude, Lyric, Jubilation XXV and Gold, this fragrance has that deep King’s vibe to it. As it goes with almost all Amouage fragrances, I suggest not to evaluate it based on a few sprays. Give your nose and senses some time to immerse into deeper experience of it, especially if you are not wearing Amouage fragrances often. You will discover more depth and complexity to it every time you wear it.

An interlude to what?! An apocalyptic forest fire?! Part two of Amouage's epic Interlude trilogy shows us destruction and dystopian forces in the forest that was Interlude. Taking it from the top, it's almost exactly the same as the original Interlude with the oily and rindy hesperidics, oregano, and allspice, however, give it another sniff and you soon realize that there is a lot more going on below the surface ready to flow upward and outward. The citrus fruit and the spices are burning in a fire. In the heart and base, the oud is more prominent than in the original Interlude, but then so is the frankincense and leather. The oud and the leather have a heat that is like lava rolling across a forest landscape, annihilating everything in its path. Thick black smoke, white hot embers of burning woods, raging reds and oranges of lava and melting resins. Notably in 53 compared to the original release, the sweetness of the ambers is more palpable, which is what's responsible for this thicker lava/melting-resin feeling I'm getting in my mind's eye in conjunction with the smoke and hot leather. The original Interlude was a hot and parched forest with a fire only having just ignited, or a volcano spurting hot gasses into the air getting ready to set a countryside ablaze. 53 is everything on fire. There is no saving the forest, there is no extinguishing the blaze. Let it burn and hope for the best. A mind blowing and stunning perfume.

Alrighty, I have both interlude 53 and the OG, and for anyone who has smelled the OG and is curious about what this one smells like, they are almost identical in terms of their scent profile. however, interlude 53 is a little bit smoother, more rounded out, and is much longer lasting. however, they are both very similar so if you don’t wanna spend extra money, just get the original. But If you can pick this up discounted, then I think it’s for sure worth it over the original interlude man. Edit; the main difference between the two is that interlude 53 spends like 3 hours in every section of the perfumes lifespan. With the OG, a lot of the oregano is gone 45-60 minutes in, and then transforms to the next part, and so on. Interlude 53 goes through all the same steps, just at a much much slower, more controlled, and “rounder” way. It’s an experience, and a perfume that you have to commit to because it lasts so long. It really is art, and I’m beyond grateful that Amouage released this oily beast. Side note- this is a controversial thought, but I think that a lot of fans would appreciate if amouage released more extrait versions of their perfumes rather than doing a 180 and making more mass appealing things. OR, they could just go back to releasing gorgeously unique and experimental perfumes!!! I guess we’ll see what happens, either way, Amouage is one of the best brands ever created

For the longest time, I have subconsciously avoided penning my thoughts on Interlude 53 for one simple reason. I never thought my words could do it justice. Honestly, that's still the case, but does it really matter? No, I don't think so. So if anything, I will simply yap about what is my favourite fragrance (at the time of this review, but I don't see this changing). This is an experience. It is so multi-faceted and I would die on the hill that this is true "high" perfumery. Despite the otherwise outrageous price, I'd go so far as to say it's actually worth it (providing you reasonably have the means, of course. That is truly subjective). Interlude 53 is a kingly fragrance that is constantly doing something new and evolving throughout any given wear. One spray of this will do you good for at least a week or two in the hypothetical situation that you don't shower and scrub it off. But please, do shower. I could try and describe what this smells like, but it really does need to be experienced first-hand. And I'm not talking a simple spray at the store, mixed in with other things so you can set off and forget. This needs to be worn exclusively, all day. It needs to be understood. I think every man owes it to himself to at the very least get his nose on this. It is a very special fragrance, and I am, in a sense, honoured to have it in my collection.

I’m a huge fan of interlude 53. Made in Muscat, Oman, this yells “Arabian Royalty” in a bottle. You’ll find that when you spray this on your skin, the oil is vibrant and noticeably wet for 5+ minutes until it settles into your skin. That’s how powerful this fragrance is. Being that it is 53% fragrance oil, this will last you in my opinion over 12 hours, and the bottom notes will still be subtly noticeable even after 24 hours. My new favorite house just because of the unquestionable uniqueness this fragrance and the house in general offers. If you’re willing to spend $300+ for this fragrance, and you love collecting, then this is a must buy. However, do not blind buy first as not everyone is so open to the uniqueness this fragrance offers. On the other hand, this is a very high quality product in terms of the actual ingredients used to create this fragrance, and from the bottle and packaging itself. It offers a magnetic cap, and the aura the bottle alike gives off is wonderful. I’m gonna give this a 9/10, one of the best I own in my collection of almost 30 fragrances. The reason it’s not a 10/10 is because when my wife first smelt it, she did not like it so it’s not appealing to the masses, but when it comes to niche fragrances such as this one, it’s usual that it doesn’t appeal to the masses.

A religious experience of a fragrance, nothing short of masterful. I had to spend some time with this fragrance and get to know it. When I first smelled Interlude 53, I just wasn't ready for Amouage. I recoiled when I was first exposed to it, put it down at the store, and moved on with my day. Months later, it found itself appearing in my mind after hearing some buzz. For a while, I paid that thought no attention, but soon I relented. I bought one decant out of curiosity, then the another as a guilty pleasure to be sprayed in the air, and then another to spray on myself. I then needed a full bottle, and a full bottle I got. Interlude 53 has a grip on me. It is unlike any other experience I have had with a fragrance, completely intoxicating, a very commanding presence. I didn't want to enjoy it, but I felt like I had no choice in the matter–truly. It is almost like it has a will of its own. Rather than getting into the notes, I'll leave you with this: Interlude 53 is rewarding. It is mystical and ancient. It is tangible and complex. It is like being shown the end of a story before reading the beginning of the book. It is truly deserving of the word "niche." Sillage: 9/10 Projection: 8/10 Longevity: 10/10

Almost didn't buy this after smelling it on the strip, but I ALWAYS give fragrances a full wear on skin before making definitive decisions, and Interlude 53 is precisely why. There is such a huge difference on skin compared to on the strip, and it's evolution on skin was very different as well. Such a well-blended, complex but very smooth, sophisticated scent with A LOT of depth that will last you an eternity on skin and clothes. The value for a full bottle is pretty steep, but with how little you actually need to apply and how long it will last on those few sprays, I'd say this is well worth it's high price tag. I'm not kidding when I say I can wake up in the morning, apply this fragrance around 8AM, wear it all day, go to bed later that night, wake up next morning and still faintly smell projecting off my skin, albeit in a more intimate radius. PLEASE SAMPLE FIRST. As much as I love this scent, it is the furthest thing from blind buy safe i have in my collection. CologneCurators is where I get most of my samples since they're a very one-stop-shop sort of place, rarely do they not have what I'm looking for. And no, I'm not being promoted by them. But I should be.

I love this. Amber, smoke, and a freshness that’s almost reminiscent of rosemary. This isn’t a hard wear if I’m being honest. People just love sweet scents. But if you’re a man, smell like one. In the air it wafts all day. Might be my favorite amber in a frag. You can’t test this on a tester, only on skin. Less loud than the OG but I prefer it to be a bit more airy and subtle even though it’s a thick frag regardless. Idk man, smells great. 40 and below, don’t wear in the heat. This for me is an easy reach. If you love amber and spices, don’t want something with vanilla or ambroxan all the time, and would enjoy a realistic Smokey campfire accord, grab this. It’s sexy. Everyone says you need to be confident wearing this. You should be confident in anything you wear. It’s just a frag, so shutup about, “you don’t wear it, it wears you”. Don’t overthink it. Update: My girl loves this on me. She described it as sitting at a campfire while smoking a sweet cigar. I don’t think it’s for anyone under 25. I’m 27 my girl is 24. She thinks it’s not a hard wear and a date night frag but it has to fit the person. Wear it with confidence just like anything else. 10/10

Bottle arrived yesterday (Dec 2) & I sniffed from atomizer yesterday, but finally applied today for work. Only ~2 sprays as I wasn't sure how much... and yeah, 2 sprays is probably plenty or too much for work (in an office environment). So far it smells pretty much the same as regular Interlude Man, except maybe less ..hmm.. rough? It's not that it has that creamy/balmy aspect that Interlude Black Iris Man has, no, but rather just like a more congealed/less 'scratchy' Interlude Man maybe? I love all 3 versions. Don't go into this one thinking you may love it if you already don't enjoy Interlude Man. They're very very similar; it's the same concentrate after all. However, I would have to compare to my regular Interlude Man (25%). Bottle is awesome too! Note: I haven't worn my regular Interlude Man since April 2020, so it's been a while. And I don't have the most discerning nose - so while I may detect differences, it can be hard to put into words, and my memory of the regular needs to be refreshed!

Interlude 53 is the true definition of high perfumery. I highly recommend perfume enthusiast to do a full wear at least once if possible. If you haven’t smelled Interlude Man/Iris or at least Tauer Perfume’s L'air du Desert Marocain or Lonestar Memories, it is hard to paint a picture for Interlude virgin-nose with words. It is meant to be experience by the wearer. IMO the smoky warm ambery style of Interlude seems to be inspired by Tauer’s. I would have never imagined that oregano swimming in the pool of smoky ambery and resinous leather could be a rich and harmonious concoction. It projects and it lasts. It might be challenging but also very distinctive. It is a warm, powerful amber that does not go sweet/gourmand direction, nor fruity, nor woody, nor dirty animalic. It is just right. For me, this is the best of the best perfumes with the smoky ambery styles I have ever worn and I believe this will be a glorious Amouage for generations.

I don't just like it anymore, now i absolutely fucking love this perfume. What a beautiful, magical, meditative dark in a good way perfume. This one of the perfumes, the only few that i love to use in my house. I just love to spray it in between my chest after my evening shower, after an intense run and stretching. I literally feel like the meme of Blackbeard writing next to the lit candle. I feel like I'm riding across the ocean's of One Piece, Under the beautiful ass stars shining for me, writing my journals about my journey of life like Aruther Morgan or Blackbeard. They Ambery Smokey Aquatic notes that are so fucking beautiful. Such a beautiful ass perfume. Red Dead, One Piece, Love, Forever, deuces.

First experience with this scent was actually a clone, Midnight Oud by Ard Al Zafran. I kinda like it, but not enough. So i sold off. Then i blind bought Interlude Black Iris as people claimed online it is easier to wear and smells more rounded and buttery with the Iris. Yeah I liked it, but doesn't wow me personally, so I sold it off too. I then blind bought Interlude 53, I kinda like it at first but it grew so much on me and I really love it now. Absolutely great scent, especially the dry down. Smells almost chocolatey due to the patchouli. Personally, perfumes that grows on me to absolutely loving it will be amongst my favourite, rather than being blown away on first sniff and then being meh hours later. Projects beastly for first 3 hours, lasts for days on clothes. Don't need to put your nose close to your clothing, it's very present even after 4th day. 9/10 for me.

This is an acquired taste. The sillage is an interesting, yet addictively sweet, thick amber note. But smell this up close and direct, and you get that oregano and pimento berry. It’s very different but it works so well. Once worn for a few hours, you get an incense, slightly smokey, leathery oud note. If you like it, you’ll love it, but there are people out there that will find this smell offensive and won’t like it. Fuck them people - they clearly don’t know what artisan high perfumery is. Wear this with confidence, and people will understand it and respect it. There’s a reason why it has so many positive reviews and votes, but definitely try before you buy, give it time and a couple of wears, and you will learn to understand the fragrance. A beautiful masterpiece! Warning - get it on your clothes at your own peril. This will stick on clothes through a wash cycle.

I walk into the room, and my little 41⁄2-year-old daughter says, "Daddy, can you put some perfume on me?" I say, "Sure, which one do you want?" At first, she points to Fragrance Du Bois PM, but then she immediately changes her mind and points to Interlude 53. I spray just one single spray on the back of her neck. I repeat—just one single spray. She smelled like it for three full days. During those three days, she swam in the pool every day and then took a shower afterward. Literally, the fragrance just wouldn't wash off her. And not only that, but because she keeps rubbing her hands over her body, it seems like she's spreading the perfume around even more, so her whole body smells of it. What an incredible fragrance—unbelievable quality and absolutely phenomenal longevity. My bottle of Interlude 53 is from late 2023.

This is that type of badass scent that you don’t really like but keep smelling, following and respecting the human who wears it. The fragrance of a powerful smart and toxic boss with who you will never play games for your own sake. I think I’m more in love with the vibe I’m getting from wearing Interlude 53 rater then from the actual scent. The LONGEVITY is here guys, seems like the is the only perfume from my "beast mode" collection which stays o my pillow for 6-8 days like a hell! However, the sillage is rather moderate I would say: i asked a lot of people and you need around 5-7 sprays so then people can feel the smell. So I would say it's a colser to skin beast bomb. (comparing to MFK satin mood extrait and FM Promise where people could feel the scent on another side of the street (I swear)

I keep thinking to myself that interlude 53 is an experience rather than a perfume. I know that’s an overused saying, but I feel it’s appropriate for this perfume (or elixir or attar or whatever you want to call this oily beast). I can taste this perfume when I spray it, it’s so layered, it’s so thick, it’s so intensely crafted, I don’t ever know what to make of myself when I’m wearing this... or when this is wearing me? I don’t know what’s happening, and despite my dramatic paragraph about this perfume, it really is that special. Side note— does anyone get banana laffy taffy notes from incense perfumes? I’ve gotten it from interlude 53/interlude man, black afgano, and Hindu Kush. I’ve heard maybe one or two other people agree with me, but I wonder if more people get that too.

this is what i imagine a Squid's Ink would smell like one that is in the deep dark oceans of the world. It's such a fucking an amazing weird smelling perfume, smells like Voldemort like the dark side of Harry Potter & Bioshock's Rapture City. What i get is a deep smokey and Incense with amber mostly, but there is this Squid's Ink and ocean smell to it, that is so fucking beautiful maybe it's the Pimento or something, But i really really wished the opening could last forever. This is definitely going to be amazing for Halloween, but It's not dark, it's like a quiet darkness, like Voldemort weaving through the dark forest in silence. It doesn't shout I'm here, it's just there looking at you but you can't see it.

After reading several detractors of this amazing (AMAZING) fragrance, I was beginning to doubt myself, but after about a month or so, I had the occasion to try it again. LOL!! Yep. I got it right the first time. This stuff is pure magic. Is it for everyone? Clearly not. And to those poor souls, I say "Oh well... Sucks to be you!" But as far as I'm concerned, this masterpiece is one of the greats if you're into (VERY) smoky, incensy, woody/oudy frags. Interlude 53 defines Amouage. If you don't understand Interlude 53, you're probably not going to understand Amouage as a whole. I thank my lucky stars I love this stuff. It's one of the finer things that really makes life special sometimes! 10.0/10.0 all day long.

Received this in afternoon today. Really nice packaging although it look bigger in the videos on YouTube. Sprayed one spritz on my arm and it smelt like the og Interlude (2019 decant which I absolutely loved) which made me bought this one instead because that decant will last a good while and I heard this was more of a "beast" and my favourite colour is also blue. Will test it out soon and write how it performs. EDIT: So I wore this to work this past Monday night (25th) and it was projecting strongly. I was at the canteen when a co worker came to me asking if I didn't hear him asking who was wearing that cologne? I said no and he then told me it was too strong. Will let it sit and mature a bit.

This has the same element of seeming "soaked" in sandalwood as the new essences line. I was very skeptical about this aging in barrels business but I have to admit that it does give a certain something to the scent. I'm not sure it's some wondrous new revelation, but it does give a nice creamy, rich base, which is sumptuous in a way you don't normally get. It's like sandalwood sings a baritone all the way through. This one smells sort of nutty, and more culinary than the original, and overall it's a bit more polite, though not much. An interesting digression from the OG, but not something I'd spend 500 euros on, not in a million years.

This fragrance is fantastic. Indeed, it is a work of art. To me, it smells a bit like candy. This fragrance lasted all day on my skin as well. I think it might be too much for some occasions; with my few uses of this fragrance (with a sample), I got a compliment wearing this from the barista at Starbucks. She said, "You smell nice," so maybe this is more suitable in more places than I think. I really do love this fragrance and the work that Amoauge is doing. I wouldn't want to wear this on a hot day. The best situation I would wear this is on tranquil, temperate evenings, where it harmonizes with the gentle caress of the breeze.

I'm wearing Interlude 53 in the middle of a hot summer day, and yet it still smells so good. It's through and through an amber bomb that projects quite well. I sprayed some on paper, my clothes, and also on skin. It's a friggin' oil slick on paper compared to other fragrances. The fragrance itself is complex, but I don't smell the fresher notes that are listed. It's mainly the oregano, amber, and smoky sandalwood that I smell. I can't really detect the oud, which I smell as something fecal especially during the summer. It smells just slightly sweeter on skin, but that could just be my mind playing tricks on me.

Review: Longevity: This stuff is a beast—it easily lasts over a week on clothes. I sprayed it once, and it just won’t quit. Projection: It projects well for about six hours, but then it becomes more of a skin scent. That said, it’s got this addictive quality—you catch whiffs of those oregano and woody notes, and you just want to keep sniffing. Overall: I bought it, and while I’m enjoying it, I do think it’s a bit overpriced. The longevity is incredible, but for the price, I was hoping for a bit more projection. Still, if you like those close, intimate scents, it’s worth a try.

what an absolute stunner just like the original interlude but I’m definitely feeling that this extrait is more hot spicy on the opening and mid rather than the oregano forward OG and the levels of the fragrance last a bit longer between transitions. It is very oily and you can tell when you try to spray it. This scent warms me right up and wafts wonderfully and it’s so intoxicating. Dense, Smoky, Woody, Resinous with hints of spice and sweetness. It reminds me of a log on fire and the thick, dense and spicy smoke is choking you out but in a very good way. 10/10

It's a modern but true interpretation of Middle Eastern scent so everyone should be careful before buying it. If you are not used to it there is a very little chance that you will like it. Just imagine a Middle Eastern Bazaar where spices, fragrances, carpets, sweets are being sold and incenses are burning in the background. They captured the scenario, formulated it into a juice with modern twist and stored in a bottle. It is more suitable for a man who is in his mid thirties or up and also into Middle Eastern fragrances. It’s a no buy for the beginners.

Apparently, FragComm Spokesman Mizur speaks for the community and everyone else who likes this fragrance are liars. I suppose he can't fathom that not everyone shares his tastes. Sorry he feels like a sucker for purchasing a $500 fragrance he doesn't like. Anyway, like most people, I love this one. It's dark, brooding, and slightly sweet. Lasts forever and projects well. The exceptional 4.5 rating is well-deserved. I really don't care if anyone considers me an "expert", I enjoy wearing it and find many occasions to do so. Guess that makes me a "liar".

The other day, a friend brought me the regular Interlude, and I fell in love with it from the very first spray. Interlude 53 is much higher quality and far more refined. It’s the smoothest and most expensive perfume I’ve ever owned. I got it for a much better price from the discounter, too. I’m truly in love with it. I hope I can get Jubilation 40 next.”

I don’t get any oregano in the opening, its the same dna as the original, just smoother, more intense, and strong. If the original is a beast mode fragrance, then Interlude 53 is god mode! If you want to make a statement and leave your mark wherever you go, then interlude 53 is the juice you want. It’s expensive but 2-3 sprays is enough to make you stand out. I don’t recommend wearing it inside, because it’s gonna linger in the air, and some people might be too sensitive about it.

The kind of scent Arab Dial Daytona owners would wear. If you wear this daily, you will never have a dull day in your life. Whether it is office or date, this scent shines through. My signature winter scent along with PDM Pegasus Exclusif. I also own OG interlude & Black Iris, but 53 feels a tad bit smoother in the blend. If you have the funds try all 3. Not bad at all! Much better than black Iris. Quite straightforward on the notes. I agree this is a winter frag. Sub10°C. But I don't agree on the previous reviewer on the occasions. You wear a scent whenever you FEEL is the right moment. I have a few chosen frags because they feel like who I am. So that's when to wear perfume. Because they have something in them who makes a statement of YOU. Whenever, wherever.

This one grew on me since last year. It's not a love yet, but I can sense the quality right off. The reason I've hated this one until now is that I've found it overly medicinal (the oregano & pimento?), but I have since came to appriciate the beauty & quality & power of the Interlude 53. Insane longevity & projection (as expected) witg this one. It's a beast for sure.

Wow. This is gorgeous compared to the original. The OG strength of oregano and smoke smells like you dropped your splif down the front of your flannel shirt. It gave me a borderline migraine and I got tired of it after an hour. This feels more mature and reserved. It sits closer to the scent profile of Black Iris which I love.

Love Interlude 53. Using it everywhere except office and formal meetings. Definetely stand out fragrance. Very similar to standard Interlude, but more darker and smokier. Outstanding longevity. I like to wear it just for myself, before the sleep and even in high heat. Then I'm feeling like bonfire but in best possible way.

I gave away my 2017 bottle to my brother and recently replaced with this one instead. I have been using it for a week now, Oh boy, this is it, my favourite of all interlude DNA. Masterpiece! This is a part of me, interlude has always been an experience, I don’t wear the perfume, it wears me. Absolute top!

Lovely rich and opulent scent but it can be challenging so I can see why some don’t like it. The Oud and leather make for a dirty combo and can be off putting. Reminds me of Anatolia Anatolia, which is more leather and Oud than this. Not easy to pull off, but if you like it, you’ll love it
