Myths Woman is a sharp green mossy marvel of a chypre. She is a fragrant blooming bog without apologies. She is refreshing without being traditionally fresh, dainty, or light. Myths Woman is the dark green of hardy yet tender green plants awakening at the end of winter, dotted with faint white and orange spots where growing narcissus peeks through. She is heady, mysterious, divine, and sadly gone all too soon, just as the name suggests. The glorious purple bottle is a far cry from the true green color of this fragrance, so much that I wonder at the reasoning behind the decision: perhaps it is a joke? But no: although she is natural and verdant, Myths woman has a rare impossible wonder about her that makes the unnatural purple bottle of the bottle seem, somehow, right at home. This fragrance makes me think of a particular time in nature: the days between the end of winter and the beginning of spring, when the ground has begun to thaw, the early plants are blooming, and the animals have just started waking up. This is not a sunny spring day full of flowers and birdsong: this is a day with a chill and maybe a tiny bit of residual snow on the ground, but the sun is shining all the way through the trees onto the dappled forest floor, and the narcissus flowers and crocuses are starting to bloom. (There is no scent of crocus here, but perhaps their association with narcissus as early spring flowers inspired the purple bottle.) Immediately out of the vial, Myths Woman is astringent, sharp, and green like something crushed -- a handful of herbs or grass clippings, perhaps, pressed underfoot. There's a smell in here that is exactly like one of the rooms at Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens in Pittsburgh- not like most of the conservatory, with fresh, humid, warm, green and floral smells, but a particular room with a slightly drier, more bitter green aroma. I currently can't place which room it is for the life of me, but when I do it may give me more context for what plants I might be smelling. Perhaps I'm simply reminded of the smell of the annual winter flower show, featuring flowers such as amaryllis and narcissus that bloom in the cold, and thrive in the humid, controlled environment of a conservatory. I get whiffs of something like valerian in here: warm, green, dense, a herb beloved by cats (much like catnip, but more common in Europe) for its aroma, which reminds them of the various pheromone smells of other cats. This is likely the urinaceous "pissy" note others are smelling here. I'm reading it as valerian: herbal in a strong, unapologetic way, almost folk-medicinal, a tincture you take to sleep and calm the nerves, not necessarily for its flavor. It's only particularly noticeable to me in the first few minutes, before it fades back into the animalic herbal melange. There's a dimension to the background of Myths Woman that is almost manure-like. I believe this is a trick of the combination of that urinaceous valerian with a heavy, dark oakmoss and the heady animalic qualities of narcissus, with its slightly fecal indoles and hint of hay. I can't point to anything in particular at this stage that is definitely leather, but perhaps that adds another animal dimension to this wild scent. I don't dislike it: it makes me think of gardens and of hard work, of resting by barns and pots of white spring flowers. I can definitely smell plenty of narcissus here, and it's glorious. Slightly earthy, animalic like a barn of feces and hay, but a glowing, honeyed, just-slightly sweet accord is in here as well, heady and opulent. The contrast in this note is simply divine. I asked two friends who both grew up Catholic what they smell in the opening, and both of them happened to say "church." This isn't at all church-like in any woody way, so I think what they're smelling here is perhaps the chrysanthemum, reminding them of chrysanthemum bouquets at ceremonies, weddings and funerals. I myself don't have this church association, but someone who grew up regularly attending around such bouquets very well might. There's a hint of slightly floral spiciness that doesn't quite belong in a narcissus that I recognize as carnation, but it's subtle and doesn't overwhelm the scent with fresh spice, instead accentuating the fresh crushed green facet of the fragrance with its edge. Something ocean-fresh and salty is in here too, perhaps ambergris, adding a faint whiff of fresh air to keep things from getting too stuffy, while also enhancing the animalic accords with its warmth. So what are the actual greens being crushed softly underfoot in this room? That hint of valerian, particularly noticeable in the first few minutes, whispers faintly in the background. I'll believe that there are violet leaves in here, although they don't present at all ozonic or cucumber-like on me, thank goodness. Certainly, some sort of fresh, crisp, astringent green leaf makes up the heart of this crushed pile, particularly in the delightfully sharp herbal opening. Perhaps there is some faint patchouli here, not as herbal as the other greens nor as dark as the oakmoss, creating a bridge to blend the various greenery together. Chrysanthemum lends a musty, herbal green scent with a fresh and spicy edge. The floral spice of a carnation is vaguely detectable. A rich, bitter oakmoss is present; it blends with the heady sweetness of the narcissus, creating a rich bittersweet texture, the way that fine dark chocolate is dark and bitter while hiding a wild, deep sweetness underneath. The heady floral narcissus and the animalic notes soar over the greenery, creating an atmosphere of warmth just starting to seep through cold, with new floral growth and animal scurrying waking up the cool herbal mossy forest floor after the winter. Through its fairly linear life cycle, Myths Woman often reminds me of a more sharp-crushed-green Paloma by Paloma Picasso (without the aldehydes and roses). The animalic facets are even more prominent here, as are the green and mossy ones. These were always my favorite parts of Paloma, so I am delighted. At the same time, while Paloma is delicately balanced in a way that presents wild feral-yet-glamorous femininity, Myths Woman leans decidedly towards the feral, with no rose-aldehyde-carnation soap softening this to the palates of traditional floral lovers. No, Myths Woman is a glorious animalic green chypre first and a floral scent second, with the heady narcissus serving the image of animals scampering among crushed greens in a bog in the last days of winter. There are many people who find Paloma's polite-rose-meets-wild-animal sensuality sexy, myself included, but I expect Myths Woman may scare off anyone for whom the traditional, polite, soapy floral side of that scent is something essential. Myths Woman is Paloma undressed, with her hair shaken out of its perfect blowout and her vampy red dress and smart heels left at the door. She is picking narcissus flowers in the forest in her pale, translucent nightclothes, breathing in the cool air and listening to the scurrying and mating of small mammals. She crushes fresh green herbs underfoot, and hears the delicate, sharp inhale of some small creature in response. There is purity in the sight of her, this nymph-like woman on white, surrounded by flowers and greens, but inside she is human, curious, and fundamentally of the earth, reveling in the dirtiness around and within her. She is, indeed, a woman of Myth, as such wild, untamed sensuality in connection with nature is rarely ever seen around us today, and is left to us only in the stories, myths, and fairytales we have been telling for all of time. Cold weather really brings out the extremely animalic, heady floral sweetness in this, a touch spicy in the way that flowers are, prickly and heady and sweet like wildflower honey. The animalic qualities of this floral really are delicious and astounding. I've never seen anything quite like it. The green spice of the carnation is quite prominent in the cold, building up that accord of floral spice and faint yet heady sweetness. Indoors, at room temperature, the herbal, green, and mossy notes are much more notable. These need a bit of warmth to truly activate the aura of a bog in early spring, with sunshine creeping through the narcissus clusters to reach the mossy forest floor. I adore Myths Woman. My only complaint is that, like a true mythical being, she is ephemeral, disappearing without a trace after about four to five hours of a lovely linear scent. Altogether, she is faint in her sharp greenness, and you are unlikely to project her very far off of your body unless you are far luckier than I. Nonetheless, she is stunning. I'll wear her in the winter in hope of early spring, and in warmer months as a refreshing memory.

First off I have myths man, I absolutely love it, one of my favorite perfumes. I got a 2ml sample of myths woman from surrender to chance, very happy with their samples. I just wore this, had it on about 5 hours, wore it to the gym, still slightly present on my clothes (15+ sprays) and I now just resprayed it on my hand. So myths woman opened up with a burst of floral notes and I immediately thought oh no this is going to be difficult to wear, seems like it's leaning towards the feminine side. But... The florals calm down within 30 minutes, and the other notes start showing up. About the floral notes in this, the chrysanthemum is not prominent, I Know because the only floral note in myths man is chrysanthemum and it smells amazing and it's quite distinct. In myths woman I feel like I'm smelling more of a bouquet of natural flowers in a garden outdoors, not in a vase. I detected a slight powdery note also in the opening most likely from the violet leaf, but I'm so glad this didn't go in a powdery direction. It becomes more earthy and slightly damp like a morning after the rain and it's slightly still humid and all the plants have dew on them. I get the ambergris in the mids, i think it's adding a bit of a sour earthy soil accord in combination with the patchouli, it's a subtle animalic note. I really love this little hint of ambergris lying under the florals, I think it really ties things together in this fragrance. I don't get leather, but the moss is definitely here and gives it that natural outdoors, wet, herbal, plant feeling. This fragrance brings me to a real environment. A feeling of being outdoors. This fragrance reminds me of times when I was a kid my mother would always take my sister and I on "nature walks", through trails and through nature. As kids and even when I got older she would always have me come out to her garden in our backyard to look at something or smell something. She did not have a picturesque garden. In my mother's garden, she allowed anything and everything to grow, wild flowers, herbs, even weeds. It looked like a mess, a jungle, in fact over the years it became almost hard to distinguish what actually was a garden and what was our backyard. But she knew where everything was and what it was, where she planted it. This fragrance reminds me of those natural smells of nature. A real garden. This is quite unique, at first it seemed like a simple floral female fragrance, but it's actually quite complex. In the last 5 hours this has really grown on me. It doesn't feel like you are wearing a fragrance. I don't think this is one you might want to wear to "smell nice". Not that it doesn't smell nice, it smells like an actual atmosphere. I think for most people, particularly those who like fragrances composed like works of art, you will want to wear this alone to really enjoy it as just that, a work of art. That being said, would I want to buy this and bravely wear it to the gym again.. Yes I would want to buy this but no, personally I would have a hard time wearing this in most places so I would want this one just to smell when alone. Myths man for ME, is much more wearable. It is definitely also a work of art, a masterpiece I would say, but it has more masculine qualities to it that I feel more comfortable wearing in social settings. So overall first impressions, I like myths woman a lot, I would like to have this one in my collection just to smell for myself. Edit: Bought a bottle of it, love it, and despite previously feeling like I would only wear this alone, I've enjoyed wearing this to work and out and about, it's just beautiful, mossy, earthy, herbal flower garden.

To truly wear this fragrance, one must embrace a profound confidence, especially during its mesmerizing opening. Envision an aging but celebrated Chinese opera performer in her final, dazzling moment on stage: her lips a vivid cinnabar red, her eyes accentuated with dramatic slanted eyeliner, her face a canvas of powder-white perfection, crowned with a golden dragon hairpin. She glides gracefully in flowing silk robes exquisitely adorned with peony and lotus patterns, her presence bathed in the warm glow of red lanterns shrouded in opium smoke. As the curtain rises, she stands poised to deliver her final, unforgettable performance, a poignant farewell before retreating into the quiet embrace of obscurity. Frail and past her prime, yet fully aware that this performance could be her absolute last, she chooses to seize this fleeting moment and revel in the intoxicating applause one final time, risking her health and life in the process, rather than to live quietly without ever again experiencing such a profound thrill... One last final time. Amouage Myths Woman embodies the essence of nostalgia and melancholia, marking the end of an era with a breathtaking pirouette into the sunset. I believe Christopher Chong created this one as a homage/tribute to his Chinese Heritage/Myths connection. Myths Woman is, in my opinion, one of Amouage’s most underrated and underappreciated creations. Despite some negative reviews, which I respect as a matter of personal taste, I find this fragrance to be a gem. It is not designed for the casual admirer seeking mere compliments, but rather for connoisseurs who cherish vintage-style perfumery as an art form. From my perspective, Myths Woman presents one of the most elegant and unique bitter green floral openings I’ve ever encountered. It evokes elements and facets of legendary green-floral perfumes from the past, such as Estée Lauder’s Private Collection, Chanel No. 19, Guerlain’s Vol de Nuit, Piguet’s Bandit, and Dioressence, among others. The opening is rich with depth and dampness, showcasing a captivating blend of textures and layers. It unfolds with a dark green hue, interspersed with hints of glowing dark purple and lighter green emerging from beneath the surface. This opening is my absolute favorite, and among the most remarkable I’ve ever experienced across all fragrances. Although it fades after about an hour on the skin, it lingers much longer on clothing, allowing the exquisite opening to persist. If you share my appreciation for this stage of the fragrance, I recommend applying it to both skin and clothing to extend the experience. The Narcissus note, one of the finest I’ve ever encountered, reaches its zenith during this initial stage. I adore how the indolic notes are portrayed, never veering into the "mothball" territory I dislike (think Cocaine by Franck Boclet), but rather presenting a "sour breath" or "cat litter" type of indole that I find strangely addictive, especially in combination with exquisite florals and bitter green notes. The dry down evolves into a clean, soapy, green, mossy, and grassy scent. While it’s less mysterious and adrenaline-rushing than the opening, it persists for a long time without ever being overpowering, offering a subtle, quiet luxury once the initial phase has passed.

It is strange indeed when you let go of something and you feel the stinging urge to get it back any which way. It doesn't happen often to me but it did with this. I blind bought a bottle and put it on... Narcissus and violet with a musky undertone, reminiscent of fresh cut stems in the dry down and that's about it... Didn't think much of it and I sold my bottle but a week down the line the memory of it irked me so much that I didn't find peace until I got another bottle. So onto what I get from this bottle; an indolic barnyard kind of Narcissus which stays for a few hours. I suspect this barnyard aspect would be more prominent in the winter months. I am not getting much violet in this but I think it mingles with the musky tones in the later stages alongside a smoky Chrysanthemum (since everyone says it is smoky so I think this is what lends the smoky nuances). I can't for the life of me describe this one and that's what usually happens when I like something so much. I started wearing it in Spring and now it is Summer and it has been performing well enough from morning into the evening without me having to reapply. I would say if it projected more than an arm's length then it wouldn't be as scintillating to me. It doesn't fill a room and it's not as such closer to the skin either. I think it has the ability to turn people on in close quarters as I have experienced with its semi dirty allure (smokiness?) but it doesn't have any seductive qualities/notes so maybe this contradictory concoction is the 'Myth'? It is indeed, ha ha! I wore it on a very hot day and discovered a different facet to it in the heat and sweat where I feel the notes really opened and came to life. In the dry down I do feel a green leathery chypre vibe ala Bandit albeit a very faint one and the similarity is just in passing. This to me is like 'Sunshine' in a bottle and I sense yellow in the beginning stages. The purple colour denotes the dry down stages perfectly but it would have been better in the Myths Man bottle or a smoky grey/purple kind of colour which is my only gripe with this offering but by no means a deal breaker! Myths is a great release from Amouage and I applaud them for their creativity. I wish it wasn't marketed at women because I think this is quite a sexless and an oddly sexy fragrance, whatever sexy and sexless is. I would not hesitate to jump at the chance of having another bottle of this because it is something I am wearing a lot. It is different, it is unique so to speak and not for everyone. A big LOVE from me :D

Aaah Mohd .........hold your horses.....patience.. First time I smelled it last winter it repulsed me.....and now I'm 'gone'. Complete total topsyturny, ddont remember WHAT irritated me then. It's GOOD. Light. Ladylike. Modern chypre like. Flowers. But redeemed. NO traces of oudh , incense, ambers and heavy resins , which defines so many classics of this house, at least as 'ultimate trace' ( like Guerlain's utimate 'trace'is the powdery caracter of the very last basic notes). So I conclude that in this weather ( warm ! 26 celcius) and mood ( light, gazelle- light) .........it's just a very nice , classic, but with a tiny bitsy accent of NEW, feminine ( yes , I have my moods LOL ) ..and I cant stand Journey anymore ( was a love, can u believe? blame the osmanthus ..) nor Gold ( samples, but : scrubber, kitsch powder/facial cream, no breath ) andd if Epic or Interlude or Memoir ( all woman) are NOT my mood ( like now ) .I can only say : I'm wearing it, as the only Amouage female that I can handle NOW ( Lyric has always been too 'classic' and too 'rose' for me )in these specific weather and mental condditions, I pick THIS particular female , or wear my Opus7 or 9 when more 'beast'or Memoir-MAN when more 'fougere legere '.so there must be something good and effective in this scent, not FLABBERGASTING, DRUNKEN MAKING revolutionary, but which are ??? I can say after a few years n which I have, wear and test so many different Amouages, that even those reviewed by so MANY, for so ( too) long, as the 'indegestive and/or repulsive AmouageBlack Sheeps', I mean Opus 7 and 9 , my initial loves, ....I can say that now even these two bandits have become VERY cozy to me, NORMAL, decent , functionals ( Opus7 already from start was my resistent 'at work ' day-scent in summer, now also Opus9 is 'normal daily--no- worry- about - surrounding -they -hardly smell-any ) and so it's better to aim high and fall slow and softly , then to aim low and fall quickly still hungry . What I mean , Mohd.....TIME, you just started with this house, it took me 6 months to just APPROACH Opus9 ......then I was GONE. And since then they became easy familiar classic. ( Opus 7 ....a cozy forest now, so what was all the bla bla at start about eh ....???)....... I advice Myths to ladies who love ( gentle, grassy, fieldy ) flowers, class, and the classic chypres, this one is adapted to MOW: gentle, descreet, but present for the wearer,
