Opus XVI – Timber

EN. Having a large collection of Amouage perfumes, I often purchase their new releases blindly, trusting the reputation that the brand has built over the years. When I decided to add Timber, my expectations were high: the very name suggested a deep, resinous woody fragrance with the kind of creativity I have come to expect from Amouage and perfumer Alexis Grugeon. From the very beginning, Timber opens with a bright, spicy freshness: cardamom and pink pepper are enriched by green nuances of cypress and juniper. The opening feels elegant and refined, immediately revealing the quality of the ingredients and the polished signature style of the house. As it develops, the fragrance softens into a warmer, enveloping character: sandalwood and cedar intertwine with dense resins and a balsamic accent of incense and fir. In the drydown, there is a gentle sweetness reminiscent of vanilla chocolate, rounding out the composition without becoming cloying. Nevertheless, Timber did not impress me. Yes, it is elegant, pleasant, and well put together, but also too banal. It lacks the complexity and daring originality that make Amouage’s best creations stand out. Longevity and sillage are moderate, staying fairly close to the skin, and the high price feels unjustified when compared to cheaper fragrances that smell strikingly similar. In the end, Timber is a refined and versatile fragrance, suitable for those who seek a warm woody perfume for everyday wear without excess. But for those who are deeply familiar with the rich world of Amouage and expect boldness and uniqueness, Timber may feel too simple and not particularly memorable. ⸻ IT. Gli manca quella complessità e quell’originalità audace che contraddistinguono le migliori creazioni di Amouage. La persistenza e la scia sono moderate, restano piuttosto vicine alla pelle e, considerando il prezzo elevato, l’acquisto risulta difficile da giustificare se confrontato con fragranze più economiche e fin troppo simili. In conclusione, Timber è un profumo raffinato e versatile, adatto a chi cerca un legnoso caldo da indossare tutti i giorni senza eccessi. Ma per chi conosce a fondo il mondo di Amouage e ne attende sempre la forza e l’unicità, Timber rischia di apparire troppo semplice e poco memorabile.

Timber is an easy to grasp release from Amouage and one that is actually quite comforting. Like many others have noted, there is something about this fragrance that makes you want to keep returning to it. I think it's the nostalgic quality that it gives. It is no doubt very cypress forward, and my immediate first impression was that it smells exactly like a fresh Christmas tree. The lavender note within the fragrance makes this far more wearable than most Amouage offerings. I think it works well in both informal and formal settings during autumn and winter. Lavender and cypress is consistent throughout, but as the fragrance dries down, it becomes creamier and sits closer to the skin. My only minor criticism, and I'm starting to think this might be personal issue, since so many reviewers praise how well blended it is, is that something in the drydown comes across as quite sharp to me. I'm beginning to think it's the combination of palo santo and vanilla that doesn't quite agree with my skin. Longevity is excellent and the projection is moderate, certainly does not overstay its welcome like some of the most recent Amouage releases. Given the nostalgia that it envokes, I'd consider a full bottle if it ever goes on discount in the near future. Can't justify £320 for a 100ml fragrance, I'd certainly purchase a 50ml bottle though if it were released. Probably one of, if not the only Amouage along side Reflection Man with a great amount of versatility.

If, like me, you left the store feeling underwhelmed after first smelling it, give it some time. Try wearing a sample or exploring it through a discovery set before forming a final opinion. Timber is impeccably blended, yet undeniably polarizing. At first, you may even find yourself asking, “Where are the woods?” especially if you are coming from something like Arso. But the beauty of Timber is in its subtlety. Rather than presenting wood as a raw, close up material from the opening, it expresses wood as a texture, more like gazing at a vast forest from afar. It is in the drydown that you begin to move closer, where the finer details and nuances of the woods emerge and the scent becomes darker, richer, and potentially more divisive. It is beautiful in its own understated way, but if you are expecting an Arso style experience, this is not it. Still, Timber’s dedication to a purely woody profile, even in such an abstract form, is precisely what makes it distinctive, polarizing, and surprisingly easy to enjoy as a daily wear. EDIT: After extensive testing, I have noticed that Timber shares many top note similarities with Reflection 45. My admittedly simple takeaway: Timber feels like Reflection 45 pushed heavily into woods, minus the iris.

Yes yes yes. This is the smoothest and creamiest and most realistic woody perfume I have ever smelled. Thank you Amouage. This is a thing of beauty After about three more wearings, I would like to add my longer review. Timber is depicted as a simple perfume, but I actually think it’s quite the opposite. The woods in Timber somehow are creamy, green, citrusy, dry, and powdery (like wood chips) all at once. Amouage has a wonderful ability of allowing me enjoy notes that I thought I would never enjoy. Honour 43 made me realize I could enjoy tuberose, king blue and silver oud were the perfumes that made me start loving oud, and timber is the first perfume that made me excited to smell lavender. My experiences with lavender have always been with overly synthetic, sharp, and headache-inducing designer chemical messes. With Timber, Amouage has introduced the most smooth combination of aromatic lavender, and dry cocoa. Those notes mixed with the variety of woods and the greens (cypress, etc.) creates one of the most easy to wear BUT unique perfume at once. People confuse simplicity with versatility, and timber is not simple. There are so many layers, so many dimensions, and so much going on. Give this 10 wears before calling it boring.

Few fragrances make me restructure my buy list, but this is one of them. Right off the bat this fragrance doesn't have the standard balsamic/resin accord that Amouage is known for. Instead this is a beautiful and comforting wood and cacao fragrance. Opus Timber took me back in time to a memory of going out to the mountain with friends. I was getting a bit overstimulated in the small cabin so I took my hot cocoa outside and just stared for hours as the rain falling over the trees turned to snow. This fragrance is that moment, cacao and cardamom that fade slowly, and cypress and pine that start off green and resinous but fade into a comforting sandalwood and cedar. This fragrance has excellent longevity, the cacao and warm spice last about 5-6 hours and the woody base lasts about 7-8 hours, while still being detectable the next day. Projection was good for me throughout the wear, but I tested it in 80 degree heat, i'd want to test it in cooler weather since I think that might be the optimal setting for this fragrance. This is honestly one of the best comforting woody fragrances for the cooler seasons and would recommend a try, even if it isn't the most Amouage Amouage fragrance.

I've tested Timber and quiet enjoy it. The opening reminds me a lot of Royal Tobacco that same warm, spicy, and slightly sweet character, but unlike Royal Tobacco, Timber doesn’t go smoky in the drydown. Instead, it leans more into the woody-resinous territory, with a vibe that’s closer to Amouage Outlands. I actually sold my bottle of Royal Tobacco. As much as I loved the scent itself, I just couldn’t find many occasions to wear it. The same goes for fragrances like Outlands and Creed’s Oud Zarian, great compositions, but too situational for my needs. Timber, on the other hand, strikes a nice balance. It smells classy and put together, but still easygoing enough for daily wear. Performance is solid. Longevity is good, with decent projection, not a room-filler, but definitely noticeable in the first few hours. It feels versatile enough for year round use, which is rare for a wood heavy scent. Of course, the price is steep (as usual with Amouage), but let’s be real who’s paying full retail these days? I’ll definitely wait for a good deal, ideally 30% off or more, before committing to a full bottle.

The composition remains smooth and linear, with excellent longevity and a discreet but noticeable projection. It’s versatile enough to be worn every day, but it also has the depth and elegance to shine in more formal moments. In short, Timber is an accomplished woody fragrance — polished, serene, and quietly powerful. A perfect entry point into the Amouage Library, and a scent that proves woods can be both noble and deeply comforting.

It swept me away... utterly, completely. Layered, majestic, and shadowed, it reminds me of a baroque-era château; one of those places you’d hesitate to gaze upon once night falls. Sophisticated and profound. I first catch lavender, cypress, and fir, with hints of juniper and cardamom. The cardamom here doesn’t bring warmth; it brings depth. These fougère and spicy notes open the book, but they’re just the first page. Soon, some of the most natural, dark-woody notes I’ve ever encountered begin to take over. The mood shifts... the château grows dim, the atmosphere veers toward something almost cultic. It’s the scent of blackened woods, of incense that doesn’t smother the air but rather lifts it, suspended in smoke and shadow. Wood and shadow intertwine, inseparable and unrelenting. And yet, beneath all this darkness, there remains a thread of clarity: a breath of cool air that never fades. Rich, deep, and hauntingly persistent. A new Opus from Amouage is always big news, and as someone who follows the house closely, I was excited for this one. Timber feels more approachable than many of its predecessors in the Opus Collection, yet still carries that unmistakable Amouage character. The opening is wonderful. Herbal, woody, deep, and energetic. You get this immediate sense of polished richness, it almost feels like a dry down from the beginning. It exudes that refined strength Amouage does so well, but in a way that feels more welcoming and modern. Timber gives me a touch of Royal Tobacco vibes, but smoother, more toned down, and easier to wear. It still has depth, but there is an elegance and comfort to it that makes it very enjoyable right away. Is it the very best release from Amouage for me? No, I have my personal favorites. But it is definitely a winner in its own identity and I genuinely enjoy wearing it. It is absolutely going on my wishlist.

Timber opens spicy, peppery and with a decent evergreen scent remiscent to me, of cedar trees. It also has a smokey, almost campfire element near immediately. As it dries down the frankincense becomes a major player , balancing the woods and giving a very delicious wood and incense vibe strongly, with both going pretty hard but balanced and delicate. The scent is not too dense, airy, foresty overall. Surrounded by varied fragrant trees and having a light fire with your incense burning as well is the vibe. Found it overall very pleasant. A nice and enjoyable sense. Sure it isn't challenging or hard, but it is incredibly cozy and beautiful. Introspective maybe, but does project to 6' and have decent sillage even at the 4 hour mark. While not a huge room filling smell, in an oppressive it is a present and permeating smell. Overall just a really nice time. Was still smelling it trying to sleep 6+ hours later without trying.

You enter a forest at first light. The canopy glows; the trunks listen. Cypress and juniper brush your sleeves, bright and green. Cardamom breathes mint-bright at first, then warms at the core. Deeper in, fir balsam and frankincense rise in quiet spirals. Underfoot, palo santo, cedar & sandalwood settle into a profound warmth, softened by vanilla, chocolate & patchouli. Opus XVI Timber stands with the very best woody perfumes, holding its ground beside Kashmir by Ormonde Jayne. Against the Essences line (Reasons, Lustre, Outlands), with their double infusion and oak-barrel aging, Timber feels clearer and more coherent. Reasons in particular reads a little immature to me. Timber captures that woody, introspective idea with ease. It stays light as mountain air and sure of its purpose. Wearing Timber, the forest moves inside me until the truth is simple: I loved the trees so much I became one.

Maltol in Outlands, coffee in Reception and now cocoa, cypress, fir and lavandin in Timber. Amouage is stepping out of their comfort zone into new territories to make their creations more interesting. Having Outlands as my signature perfume, I definitely look forward to testing Reception and Timber. But I cannot help but notice Mr Salmon is obsessed with pink pepper-cardamom-juniper-vanilla-patchouli combos in his recent creations. 04 01.2026: I finally got to test this today. It opens slightly green with the cypress but I immediately got the signature rich Omani frankincense, freshness of juniper berry and slight cocoa. Very smooth opening similar to BTV Green Sapphire. Then the chocolatey-vanilla-creamy woods arrive and stay till the end. It gives me a locally made Nigerian tigernuts cake vibes, like Decision, and I love it. I bought a full bottle immediately. 👌

Alright guys - i just got back from sampling this in the flagship amouage boutique here in america. Lots of champagne but got to eventually test the scent itself. Timber to me starts out bright, spicy and v similar to decision. Then midway it bleeds into a smoky woody stage not dissimilar to silver oud (without the oud, of course), and the drydown was very woodsy, you really get an in-depth wood accord with the various wood accords. The longevity is the only question mark, as it didn’t last super long on my skin, but i think this is mostly my skin as it typically absorbs perfume like a sponge. I think with closer sprays it would last 6-8 hours Overall this is a nice return to form for amouage, and this wears perfectly unisex. Bright spicy woods with smoke, lovely

Love this. I’ve been trying to find an Amouage I truly connect with, and after doing some research (with a bit of help from AI), I ended up discovering this one based on the scents I already love. The opening is incredibly soothing—almost creamy in texture (not taste), like a soft, comforting hug. As it settles, you start to pick up an oud-like quality, but it’s never overpowering. Funny thing is, when I checked the notes, there’s actually no oud at all. That’s kind of genius. After a full 8-hour workday, the scent is still going strong—especially since I usually spray on my clothes. When I take them off and catch the scent again, it feels warm, slightly sensual, and deeply comforting. Honestly, a masterpiece.

I’ve been wearing Timber every day since I acquired it. I’ve gone through about 10 ml in just a couple of weeks, which never happens to me. I rarely use a parfum this often, and I almost feel bad neglecting the rest of my collection. It’s simply easy to wear. The opening is very lovely, and the drydown is an awesome vanilla-balsamic beauty. The opening reminds me a bit of Royal Tobacco and Oud Zarian. As it settles, it becomes a balsamic, woody frankincense vanilla with a touch of smoke. Projection is soft, with no sharp or offensive notes. It slightly reminds me of Oud Wood (not the same, but in spirit). Longevity is 8+ hours on my skin. Hands down, this is the best Amouage I’ve ever tried and owned.

There are some wonderful slightly sweet aromatics in the opening that mesh well with the pine and pepper. There are some deeper woods bleeding through as well. Its a beautiful opening. It screams for hours. I applied 6 sprays and it was too much. I had a frock on at work and still projected 8' minimum my whole shift. The patchouli joins the woods a few hours in and its lovely, but a bit too much for me. Ill consider a bottle in a couple of years when they can be attained for $150, but this isn't good enough to ask $450. The blend is there, the ingredients seem to be of the highest quality, and the performance is definitely there. I guess I am a cheapskate... 8.5/10

For me this ones opens very fresh and spicy with the pink pepper, fir and lavender, then the woods, vanilla, incense and sandalwood come in and roll through to an ambery dry down. This is all held together with a touch of smoke, cedar, and a beautiful cocoa note. This is a wonderful scent that I can see as a signature scent. Very easy to wear and long lasting. I’d wear this in all seasons but would go very easy on sprays in the hot summer. I’m sure the Amouage purists will be upset that it’s not challenging. I was initially scared of this one bc the same perfumer made Search, which I think is awful. However, this one is very well done. Great job Amouage.

I had the chance to try the tester of this perfume today at the Amouage boutique in Muscat, Oman. It’s absolutely stunning — reminds me of the Essence Collection’s Luster and Outland in the dry down , but with a lighter punch and smoother edges. The blend is elegant and refined, yet still leaves a memorable trail. Performance so far is very promising — it lasted well on my skin with a moderate-to-strong sillage during the first few hours. As always, Amouage doesn’t disappoint in library collection - apartment from rackless leather 🎃. I’ll keep testing it over the next few days and can’t wait for the full bottle release on August 8 2025

So I actually quite enjoy this. It doesn’t quite smell “niche”. And by that I mean it smells straightforward like a proper mens fragrance. To my nose it smells like a combination of a few of amouages other fragrances blended together. Royal Tobacco, Lustre, and a hint of Reckless Leather. It’s really quite well done and it lasts a really long time. I do sadly feel like it’s almost missing something in the base but I can’t quite put my finger on it. I would say it’s quite mass appealing and an easy wear. Not a full bottle worthy for me, but I do enjoy it and will love my sample til it’s gone

This fragrance from Amouage is an immersing experience into a vast forest. A sophisticated woody fragrance that is different from many other fragrances in this scent family. Alexis Grugeon did a fantastic job capturing a live forest. I get the Christmas tree vibe comparisons but it is more complex than that with the additional combination of Hojari Frankincense and palo santo. Get your nose on this to see if it's your type of stank or not. It is an easy wear but certainly not all will enjoy this scent profile.

This is honestly the best Amouage I’ve smelled in a long time. I’ve said before that while I appreciate the brand’s originality and unique style, I usually find Amouage fragrances difficult to wear. Still, Amouage is truly a very high-quality brand, and I’m interested in almost everything they create. The moment I tried this, I really loved it. It has the originality that belongs to the brand, yet it’s also very enjoyable and wearable. I think I’ll probably buy it soon.

I visited Selfridges this morning, went with the intention to try Interlude, smelled okay, but then the assistant also sprayed this on my forearm.. it's been over 12 hours and I can still smell it , even after I had a long shower! I can't stop smelling my arm because I love it so much. I've never wanted a perfume so bad, the base notes are just mezmerizing me I could literally sit and smell this all day. I am planning on going back and getting this. Bravo Amouage!

It has that signature Amouage luxury — powerful but never overwhelming. The projection is strong, and the longevity is truly impressive; it easily lasts all day on my skin. What I love most is how it evolves — from bright woods to a creamy, slightly smoky dry-down that feels both modern and timeless. It’s classy, confident, and effortlessly masculine. In short: Amouage Timber is a masterpiece for anyone who appreciates refined woody scents with character and soul.

Timber is a strange one. The opening is unexpectedly sour, almost sharp, before settling into one of the most realistic woody fragrances I've smelled. The woods feel raw and natural rather than polished, balanced by an earthy sweetness that keeps the composition from becoming dry. It's one of those rare perfumes that feels niche in its composition and quality while still being approachable enough for someone who hasn’t ventured far beyond designer fragrances.

Meditative, refined and elegant. Does not shout nor scream. It is a wearing experience and if you are looking for an attention grabber, then this is not it. It’s soft and polished. I really enjoy the dry down and applaud Amouage for the courage to launch this one - it’s quite a unique different profile. Office safe and almost a second skin scent. My speculative view is that this will get discontinued- hence will aim for a back up bottle. Shukran Habibi!

Opens with a fresh christmas tree like smell. Not artificially. Pure cypress. It changes overtime to a more woody timber like smell. It stays serious and realistic. There are no artificial smell in this one. Its an easy wear coming from the amouage line. Super likeable and masculine profile. It definitely does not smell like royal tobacco but you can smell similar notes. Though minimal and a completely different wear. Strong like. 9/10

I think its great. Dry, fresh, spicy woods. Cardamom and pink pepper give a great edge. Cypress and lavender balance with aromatics and the frankincense and fir create a resin like freshness. Palo Santo in the base dries it out. Cedar gives the soft woodiness. I dont get much juniper, vanilla or sandalwood but the notes above all play well in unison. Only problem is I would pay $200 but not the $400 they are asking

instantly reminded me of Lustre from their latest collection. The opening hits with a warm burst of cardamom spice, softened by creamy sandalwood and a smooth suede undertone. As it dries down, it shifts in a way that gives me chills by unfolding into a smoky accord reminiscent of Royal Tobacco (my fav of all time). Yeah its 100% complex composition, and the transitions are subtly captivating.

The lovely lady at the Amouage Boutique in NY handed me a sample of this gem, and I loved it. I sprayed it on my arm and soon after I ordered a full bottle. This and Killian Sacred Wood are both meditative, addictive, and so lovely to wear. I am waiting for my full bottle and as I am writing this review I stopped a couple of times to smell it on my arm.,, let me go back to smelling it.

This fragrance is delicious on my skin, Its like a creamy woody forest of cypress and fir. The dry down is more cedar and patchouly. Im just loving it. I layered a little rose in and its glorious. Im a woman and I tend to lean towards more unisex and mens fragrances. It's just so good. I had sprayed some on paper last week and you can still smell it.

I personally feel the name ‘Timber’ doesn’t fully capture the complexity and elegance of the scent. Given the rich composition and emotional depth, something more evocative or aligned with the perfume’s note profile could have elevated the storytelling even further. Nonetheless, the scent speaks for itself — a truly sophisticated creation

This is masterful perfumery. It's accessable and easy to like, yet unique and not like anything else in my collection. It has great performance on my skin and just gets better and better with every wearing. This is one that you must try and not just off of a test strip. Get it on skin and I bet you will fall in love!

I should say, this is a very interesting perfume. it did take me sometime to figure it out and eventually the truth reviled. Classy, deep, elegant and extraordinary fragrance. it should be used with caution, it radiates beautifully. its on the top of my list for the winter collection. Over all 9/10

This one’s a total stunner 😍 Smooth, sexy florals wrapped in creamy vanilla🍦🍯 & soft spicy woods 🍁🍂 I swear get a hint of iris in here...no clue why, but I’m not mad at it 😍😅 Didn’t expect to love this one... but yeah, it’s a big YES from me! Easily picking this over Royal Tobacco any day🎉✨️👌🏼

I really like this. I l, originally, went to the Houston boutique to pick up purpose 50 but this attracted me more. It’s an easier wear. It’s a very smooth, non daring Amouage fragrance. That’s no a bad thing in my opinion. It’s woody, with a perfect amount of sweetness.

Beautiful wood fragrance. It’s a perfect balance between rich/deep and smooth/creamy - has substance but doesn’t smack you in the face. Just smells expensive basically. Mostly sandalwood but a good dose of cedar and frankincense. Excellent performance and longevity.

This one smells like a cedar candle to me. Probably from the fir and pink pepper. I really like it, but nothing worth spending $400 on in my eyes. Projects and lasts really well. Quite reminiscent of sauvage elixir as well. A little too boring for me. 7/10

Fragrantica is getting absolutely ridiculous. Just take a look at the "reminds me of" section, it's just trolls after trolls. Or the longevity section, a third of the votes said intimate sillage and poor performance they're obviously trolls.

Palo Santo note in this sticks out quite a bit, other woody notes are blended down quite well, cypress creamy sandalwood vanilla. Bought a bottle to have something rotate out CC Cypress and Outlands with.

This is a lovely floral, delicate scent. Long lasting and gorgeous. A dress up fragrance, you will definitely stand out. Not your typical Amouge, but rather traditional French perfumery.

Imagine Sauvage Elixir without the Sauvage DNA in the background along with Amouage performance. Great fragrance; shouldn’t be in the library collection as it’s not challenging at all

It was presented to me as a unisex fragrance at Harvey Nichols and I like it a lot. However I feel it leans more masculine

This fragrance is so good fresh a little sweet and spicy remember me cypress but a master piece of cypress scent.

This just smells like old spice timber deodorant. My favorite out of the brand, 10/10

A bit of a head scratcher. It's well known by anyone who has tried Amouage that their blends are excellent, but I think Timber is a bit too well blended, I have a hard time describing the scent other than saying it's a green and woody scent with a chocolatey touch from the cacao. I've seen people likening the smell of this to a lumber mill (and I suppose it's fitting given the fragrance is literally named Timber) but the scent doesn't evoke a roughness in the way such a comparison would make you think, Timber is refined and assertive. As the scent begins to dry, a specific musk I seem to be very sensitive to comes forward and blends well with the woody scent. It's the same musk I've detected in both versions of Baccarat Rouge, Clive Christian's Town & Country and Initio's Oud For Greatness, however, unlike all of these, the musk doesn't drown out the rest of the scent. After a few more hours, the skin scent becomes more vanillic while still retaining a strong woodiness and now a more powdery cacao finish. In a way it makes me think slightly of both Dior Homme Intense and Givenchy's Gentleman Boisée at this stage, just without the iris and considerably less powdery. I've tried all the fragrances Amouage currently sells from the Library Collection (this is the only one I've worn so far though) and I could see myself owning this, perhaps once it's being sold at discounters around $200 like Woods Symphony or Reckless Leather in a few months. Performance is great despite spraying this one very lightly. I only did four sprays in total from my sample vial and, although projection was only moderate, sillage was pretty dense and I could smell myself really well for a few hours. I'm sure this is a strong projector like all Amouage if sprayed in "normal" amounts. Longevity is unbelievable, it's been 19 hours since I sprayed this on and I can still smell it on my right arm.

Oooh I got it! The new Amouage. First of all – woody. Second – a mass pleaser. Third – you just want to smell it and spray it on yourself every single day. Fourth – Royal Tobacco vibe, you can feel the same base (royal is a tiny bit better for me). But... It’s a scent you won’t spend a single moment thinking about. You open the wardrobe, grab a shirt. Spray, spray. Off to work. The old Amouages (at least for me) have a ritual. Open the wardrobe. Think: “Which one today?” Unable to decide. So I take off the cap. Smell from the bottle. Think: “Damn . Amazing . But today something else.” I check another. Take off the cap. Smell from the bottle. Think: “Damn. Amazing. But today something else.” And so on... until finally I find the one. I say: “This is it.” Spray, spray. The power bar charges up... And as I leave, I keep sniffing my wrist again and again all day long. But this one— Beautiful, yes. But there’s no artistry. And for this price, I expect that. For this price, and for this logo. I EXPECT AND DEMAND THAT!! So im disappointed that this one is for me something like 7,5 and not 9 at least :( 100% worth testing at least.

Got a decant of this recently and tried it out today. I'm really surprised by the person that said they don't get the woods here, they're pretty prominent to my nose. Cypress and fir are definitely noticeable, lavender is as well. The vanilla is light. I get the cocoa note if I look for it which is good as I feel that would be out of place in this composition. There's also an underlying note of lumbermill, sawn wood. There's a bit more going on here than the name suggests. However, it's probably needed to make this more mass appealing and wearable. Thinking about Pineward's Gristmill it is very much straight lumber/sawmill. A very interesting and pleasant smell, but not the most enticing perfume. Overall I like Timber but it's not one I have to rush to get a full bottle of. I'd add it to the collection if I found a good deal.
