EN Remain is, for me, one of those fragrances that immediately makes you pause and reflect. It has nobility without stiffness, refinement without snobbery. It looks like it was created without haste and without any desire to please at all costs. What fascinates me most is its balance. It opens bright and spicy, then softens and reveals a rich yet very elegant floral heart, while the base becomes creamy, enveloping, almost hypnotic. Remain gives the impression of true luxury — not ostentatious, but something passed down through generations. It is a fragrance with depth, inner dignity, and that rare inborn elegance that makes it genuinely memorable. In a word, I am truly enchanted by this perfume. It has sensuality, perfect composure, and a deeply gracious, aristocratic aura. _______ IT Remain è, per me, uno di quei profumi che fanno subito fermare a riflettere. I feel like half the people in these reviews are reviewing a completely different fragrance...either that or they are looking at this thing with whatever the opposite of rose-tinted glasses is, like they do with literally anything this house has released in years. Amouage fans have this trait of being unbearably snobby and negative, basically the redditors of fragrance. If you guys hate everything since the "change in artistic direction" then maybe get over it, get a different hobby, and stop smelling Amouage's stuff since you'll never be pleased again? Sad way to live honestly. Anyways, this really is not that close to Musc Ravageur unless any scent that's sweet and spicy qualifies. By those metrics, Imagination is a clone of Versace Pour Homme too. Are your guys' noses underdeveloped or something? Not to mention the same people calling it a soft and quiet fragrance....this thing is really strong. Very big scent trail, very big projection and substantial longevity. Either way this is a really nice piece of work, It's paradoxically a crowd pleaser but definitely not blind buy safe. In the air this will get positive attention; but up close, the spices and florals they are using (along with some kind of coffee-ish anise kind of thing) might be strong and unusual. You need to try it on skin and give it a few hours, the scent changes a lot as it wears. Also I realised this kinda does smells like frootloops like some people are saying, and I love it

I was most interested in this out of the 3 new Essences, and when I smelled it I was surprised but not exactly disappointed. It opens with a gorgeous bright green frankincense (I love hojari frankincense) and a fiery pimento. Then I get this creamy rich sweetness with hints of green and brightness. When I try to pick out notes I get spice, florals, and to my nose an unmistakable carrot note. Underlying this all is tonka, vanilla, and musks. I don't really get ambergris though I see it listed. I get why people are comparing it to Musc Ravageur because there is some of that in there, but I get flashes of Rabbit by Zoologist mixed in as well. Not exactly what I was expecting from Amouage but a pleasant surprise. There's such a fascinating balance in the notes between spicy, sweet, and green/bright that I can't stop sniffing it. That same balance is why I could see this being wearable most of the year. Love it.

I finally got to try this yesterday. Though there is nothing out of the ordinary in the listed notes, the online reviews are surprisingly more positive than Line 618, which I also never tried until yesterday (I own Sequence full bottle since January though), and the reviewers have been spot on. Remain smells better than L618. It opens with a unique carrot smell (not listed in the notes but mentioned on Amouage website) and citruses. The mid has a banana like smell from the ylang ylang.Then finally comes the incence with an organic smell (I believe it is the castoreum also not listed in the notes but mentioned on Amouage website) before it finally dries to sweet vanilla, tonka bean, woods and salty ambergris. This is unisex and unique with nothing like it in my collection. Update: August 2, 2026. I got my full bottle today and will be using it as 1 of my regular perfumes as it is office safe and lovely.

I tried the new trilogy of Essences on the eve of 2026 and my first impression was meh, something weird and not for me. Somehow Remain grabbed my attention, it was the most unusual scent from this collection for me. On a blotter I didn't like it at all, it sounded irritating and intrusive for my nose, but on the skin it suddenly blossomed like a giant multifaceted flower with spicy and earthy undertones. It really shocked me with its development: I heard so many notes simultaneously and they were dancing on my skin, clearly in a way it never happened before on my memory. I was excited and just in 30 minutes changed my mind - from meh to wow. I bought it right away, and this is my first Essence. I still don't like much the bottles but I have to state that the scents are worth trying, even if Line and Sequence haven't left a remarkable impression - for me they are not so unique as Remain.

Remain from Amouage by perfumer Pierre Negrin is a beautiful spicy resinous fragrance with a surprising amount of florals. I do not find the floral heart to be too pronounced but I feel the spices come to the forefront which is supported by the floral heart that's rounded out nicely by the addition of vanilla and tonka bean. This is a great wear that has very a lot of character. I'll come out and say that I find this to be a less complex Outlands. On my skin I found Remain to be a bit linear whereas Outlands really develops remarkably over time on my skin. If the masterpiece Outlands is too much for you I would suggest you give this a try because it really is a wonderful fragrance that is sometimes overlooked in the Essences Collection.

This is the most unisex non-rose flowery fragrance I have smelled; I am addicted to it. Juniper, frankincense and citrus dominate the top, settling into a long lasting vanilla-flowery stage. The juniper takes a long time to fade. Its spicy with a lot of character. I think I have finally found my floral forward fragrance I have been seeking. It smells clean, and inviting while remaining masculine enough. I do not understand why anyone thinks this would not work well in summer, because it most certainly does. Just do not spray heavy on warmer days.

This is pretty obviously inspired by Changing Constance from Penhaligons. Add to that candied satsuma mandarin, a hint of potpourri and we've arrived. It's glorious and I'll continue to own both fragrances. It's like a powdery, orange cream soda with spice.

This one is amazing but it's so different from other Amouage's perfumes. It's still luxurious and have the sense of Oman, but it's too soft in my opinion. However, it's still a lovely women perfume.

Why do people vote this as a winter fragrance? This is much more a spring fragrance that it is a winter one

Remain from the Arab House of Haute Luxury Niche Perfumery Amouage from the Sultanate of Oman is part of the Second Trilogy of The Essences Collection; It is an Oriental Vanilla Incensed Woody Amber Spicy Unisex perfume. This is a brand new fragrance which has launched in early 2026. And the nose behind this creation is the experienced Master Pierre Negrin. Amouage positions Remain as an EDP, but it could easily be an Extrait, with 30% essential oils, and stands out for its balance between lightness and depth, transcending simple aromatic notes to convey a deeper concept. Remain is not just a perfume: it is a complex and multifaceted olfactory experience, where all ingredients merge in a perfect balance between sophistication and modernity. It is a soft and luminous and at the same time balanced fragrance, which combines the brightness of incense with floral softness and a long-lasting warm woody and vanilla base. Remain has a welcoming beginning with a vibrant and spiritually invigorating opening. Hojari incense, the richest incense in the world, sourced from the Dhofar region of Oman, offers a steaming green glow: resinous, lemony citrus and woody pine and a little spicy as well; which is both sacred and stimulating and the identity of Amouage. A chili aroma adds a warm spiced richness that resembles cloves, with sweet, woody and spicy facets, while bergamot with tangerine contributes a sophisticated citrus elegance and brings a yummy sweet, juicy flavor. It also has the unusual flavor of an inconspicuous carrot with a slight fresh fruity earthy feel. The highlight of this opening is the lightness and sophistication of this incense: clean, light and fragrant green. As the fragrance develops, the heart reveals an irresistible layer of freshness from a floral bouquet. The lily brings a fresh green floral delicacy with a watery, slightly waxy profile that evokes the clean purity of a white floral, while the warm, yellow ylang bloom adds a rich, exotic fruity sweetness with a slight hint of banana. Jasmine contributes with its contrast of a delicate indole dirt with sweet nuances that recall the taste of jasmine tea and that envelop the composition in a velvety vapor, and with juniper adding that herbal resinous violet tone that invariably refers to gin. It is sweet in measure, super balanced, with good performance, a must for vanilla connoisseurs.

A lot of you have probably seen my face in a lot of these amouage reviews. I’m an avid amouge lover, and I own 24 bottles and have gone through probably 50 samples or so. The problem with the essences collection lies in their originality. None of them smell bad. None of them smell cheap or low quality. They just lack the originality that Amouage is known for. Nevertheless, remain smells incredible. But it could be musc ravageur’s flanker

after the comparison YES it does smell like musc ravageur!! very very deep vanilla-tonka base. in the opening i do smell the green dirtiness from the patchouli as well as the yellow floral/ylang ylang. initial spray is more sweet, green, frankincense is there which smells a bit smoky. drydown is VERY deep and sweet. carries the depth of every amouage, layer after layer uncovers each hour you wear it.

Drydown: Very pleasing and lighter Musc Ravageur. If you like that kind of profile, give it a try. Not a big fan of the opening and this may not get much love due to less than inspiring opening - but with patience, towards the mid point it does become quite pleasing wear for summers. Unisex and versatile. Shukran Habibi!

Great fragrance, not typical Amouage, because it's pretty soft compared to other Amouage's fragrances. Opens up with a great combination of Amber, Vanilla and Frankincense. The dry down on paper reminds me of Tom Ford Tobacco Vanille. Great blend of notes, not worth the price tho

thought i spray musc ravageur butt noo .. i dunno how to describe this fragrance and i dont understand the hate on this fragrance as well ... if the noses are trained they will never call this clone of musc ravageur.. 7.5/10 maybe will grab a bottle in future :)

I can se the resemblance with the fragrances that’s similar, but for Me the first minute or so it’s almost 1 to 1 with Hugo Boss Absolu, and then maybe a mix of Xerjoff Lira and a lighter Musc Ravageur, it’s nice but the price tag is not!

The main smell when you first spray it is a strong balsamic smell along with a sweet vanilla and amber smell, but the strong balsamic element makes it quite masculine. It’s a cozy autumn smell.

Has an olde-tymie vibe like Shalimar. Pretty and nostalgic, but not worth this pricepoint.

a spicier version of musc ravageur

I have struggled to enjoy most of the recent Amouage releases for quite some time, with the last ones I truly enjoyed enough to be full bottle worthy being Reflection 45 Man and Epic 56 Woman nearly five years ago. The last truly new release, and not a flanker or concentration change of an existing perfume, was Meander in 2020. That's a long time to wait for something compelling from a brand that's been high on my list of favorites throughout my perfume journey. When I heard the brand was yet again contracting the services of Pierre Negrin, who composed many of my most favorite Amouage perfumes of the past, I couldn't help but be giddy and anxious. Pierre is back! I read the press blurb, that Pierre is the nose behind it, and nothing else - not even the pyramid - to try to keep my mind clear of any preconceptions before wearing it; knowing that it was a Negrin composition setup a bias and expectation in itself. I received my decant and sprayed myself liberally with it, anticipating a transportation into some opulent yet strange new world that made me smell colors, see sounds, and hallucinate images in my mind's eye. Within thirty seconds of wearing it the only thing that came from me was a series of expletives. Amouage has given us, yet again, another incense and vanilla woody amber that smells remarkably like many that have come before. Post 2020, Amouage has given us approximately forty-four perfumes - which is too many, by the way; seven perfumes per year is a sign of a house losing true creative focus because their focus is solely on marketing and the P&L. Subtracting the attars leaves thirty-five. Subtracting extrait concentrations of previous releases and general reissues of previous releases (e.g. the Cristal Gold duo, Opus V Woods Symphony, Opus VII Reckless Leather) leaves twenty-four. Of those twenty-four, Remain included, where the note pyramid indicates an incense and/or vanilla-focused woody amber composition, we have approximately twenty.... Are you with me now? Bueller? Bueller?... So, what it is that Remain sets out to achieve (that likely many Amouages of the last six years have already done)? Remain opens with pimento, bergamot, and frankincense for a waxy pepperiness, bitter sour effervescence, and resinous incense, flecked with a bit of citrus juices. This is mostly Purpose. Iterum et saepius. The heart layer is a mix of very indolic jasmine, vanilla - which also adds a sweet dimension to the frankincense, and a custardy banana and floral ylang-ylang straight out of the Secret Garden line (that doesn't have any secrets). Iterum et saepius. However, the florals are greatly overshadowed by the powerful vanilla, tonka, woods, and patchouli base that does not want to wait its turn before digging upwards into your nasal cavity - a sweet, baker's delight. This the essence of the Essences line. Iterum et saepius. I am and will remain critical of Remain, yes, but it's not bad. It is well done; very good materials that are generally handled well aside from being too heavy-handed with the base materials that comprise the Essences line. Remain is done well, but is derivative and boring. I honestly cannot tell you exactly why you should pick Remain over any of the other Essences except for, perhaps, that nice - albeit brief - indolic jasmine note in the heart, otherwise it's not particularly noteworthy. Remain leaves me remaining in wait and hope for a different perfume.

Haven’t tried it yet, I understand they are expensive but can everyone stop judging if things are good or not by how ‘strong’ or long lasting or beast mode they are!? Everyone has been tainted by the akigalawood/ ambroxan bombs and it’s annoying. Things can still be beautiful even if they last ONLY 5-6 hours, instead of 24+ hours lol

Deep fried vanilla pimento. Somehow it smells a bit foody. Don’t love any of the three, but It’s probably the one I like most out of this new line. It’s like MDCI Chypre Palatin, without the dirty hair vibe, instead with deep fried food vibe. Oh Amouage... getting redundant.

Uhhhh... no. It smells in the ballpark of Commodity’s Tonka (i have) with a spritz of Moresque’s Al-Andalus (I have), with carrot and vanilla. For now, it’s a no. I will revisit. EDIT: The late, late, dry down smells like nice lotion.

Beautiful but shortlived green incense open with creamy ylang, rapidly dries down to a very plump but identical musc ravageur base. The blatant lack of originality is extremely disappointing.

Tested it on my skin today. After 20 minutes, the smell reminded me of Nishane Ani’s ginger-vanilla dry down n continued that way So it’s a pass from me. I don’t like Nishane Ani either.

I couldn’t find any detail that justifies this price. In my opinion, there’s nothing striking or “wow”-worthy about it.

I had the chance to try it out in Dubai Mall today - it’s a wonderful scent BUT it smells exactly like Musc Ravageur by Frédéric Malle. I’m so disappointed in Amouage - there is zero innovation and I can’t believe they are becoming a clone house. I still love Amouage but so disappointed in this. Save your money and get Musc Ravageur instead

Smells like musc ravageur + greasy dorito fingers. --- Wearing it again, and I really don't like this. It straight up smells like food, like some kind of South American empanadas or something. It's really nauseating to have this smell coming off your skin.

Not Amouage level. Its like hair perfume in comparison to AMOUAGE reputation

Where to start........ Remain is anything but subtle. From the first spray, it comes in strong — bold woods wrapped in a rich, slightly sweet resinous warmth. The opening has presence, and as it settles, that creamy vanilla/benzoin depth starts to glow underneath, giving it body and weight. There’s a textured woodiness running through it — smooth but powerful — and the resins add that dark, slightly smoky edge that pushes it into statement territory. On my skin, the projection is loud and the sillage is excellent. This one leaves a trail. People will notice. It feels confident, commanding, and masculine without being rough. Definitely not a background scent — this is for nights out, cooler weather, or when you want your fragrance to enter the room before you do. As good, if not better than outlands

You can't hide the Musc Ravageur comps on this, it's so obvious. Opens with the exact same style of very sweet tonka/vanilla, slightly powdery woody tones and a resinous-spicy cinnamon/clove note. Relative to Musc Ravageur, that spiciness fades into the dry-down and you predominantly get a sweet-spicy-woody scent that has some overlap from Lustre. I'd say I do notice a very, very slight touch of Outlands' lemon DNA in the initial dry-down which is why I see people saying it has citrus in the structure. Overall, the scent is very much built like a designer product and the only thing it provides is good blending with a wearable execution/profile (esp. relative to the Malle). For €420/100ml, this is a complete no-go.

To my nose, Remain opens as if a hint of Xerjoff Lira had been mixed with gasoline-leather hints from Sequence. Perhaps it is a glitch in my interpretation as I have tried Sequence few hours ago. I need to test it again, but so far none of the three new releases are working for me. However, out of the three, Remain seems to be the best one, followed by Sequence, and least favorite one is Line 618. Update: I had a chance to test it fully on its own and Remain is nothing like Sequence. It is amber and vanilla fragrance. To me, it is still probably the most interesting out of the tree, but I am unsure if I would be purchasing a full bottle for the retail price.

Photoreleastic entrance of an old middle eastern apothecary doorstep with all spices n herbs fumes filling the air and wooden interiors .. sharp frankinsence , stinging pimento & strong patchouli are the most prominant to my nose, surprised some people thought it resembles penhaligon's changing constance !! Very different perfume categories !! CC is soft and comforting while this is sharp in your face ! And yes it can be classified in same tier with shalimar , it has same vintage touch to it .. Its my least fav of the new 3 releases !

Immediate love. Absolutely stunning sillage. I’m getting a spiced cream soda accord floating over creamy white and yellow florals, all grounded in that distinct Amouage vanilla amber base. Remain may share distant similarities with Musc Ravageur, but the comparisons feel overstated... Remain dries down in its own direction particularly with its floral mid. And like many Amouage creations, a paper strip won’t do this justice. It needs to warm up on skin for couple of unhurried hours to fully "bloom" before making any final judgments.

Remain did not really work for me, and ironically, it did not remain with me for long as I ended up selling it. This is purely my personal taste, but I did not find it well blended at all. Compared to the other two, it falls clearly behind. While it does perform well in terms of longevity, the composition itself felt off. The dry down in particular was unpleasant on my skin, which made the decision easy. The other two releases are, in my opinion, far superior in both quality and execution.

@Literally 1984 - I picked up a licorice note in the opening as well. A very captivating one, at that. I was surprised not to see licorice listed in the opening notes. Unfortunately, the licorice doesn’t stick around very long. What remains is vanilla (and Tonka?) dominant. And even more unfortunately, the vanilla takes a slightly sour character as Remain dries down. Remain went from a strong like and recommendation in the opening, to an easy pass in the dry down.

This one gave me a somewhat Minty drydown I absolutely loved...and this was after the gorgeous aromatic creamy woodiness it cascaded me with in the first few hours. I got some nuance from the House's Decision and even Outlands.. it's the familiar style of Vanillaic citrus spiciness they've mastered. Longevity was decent- not as heavy hitting as the others. I really like.

I love Amouage but this smells like a bad clone of Musc Ravageur. Many people have already compared this to Musc Ravageur with good reason. Smells very identical... You would think Amouage would go their own ways as usual but not this time. Get the original Musc Ravageur by Frederic Malle which is superior in every way

Vanilla spice bomb. I am getting what smells like liquorice in the opening, perhaps not an actual ingredient but a combination of notes giving that scent. This is actually a very unique scent, I am not sure I can even really explain it properly. 8.5/10

Remain is that quiet authority... smooth, composed, and effortlessly masculine. It carries weight, clean woods, soft spice, and a refined depth that speaks without saying too much. Tailored. Intentional. Understood. This is presence... not noise.

I have a sample of this, and it smells amazing! Definitely for winter season and I would wear this on a date night, but I wouldn't buy the full bottle due to the retail price. This is not a blind safe blind buy, so get a sample before purchasing👍

All I smell is a lily accord incense and fake oud. Very weird opening settles down a little better as the florals smoothen out. Still very overpriced and I don’t like the bottle at all.

I tested it today on skin, it is alot of spices and some herbal note like canabis and abit of dirty oud. It is special,not crowd pleading with extreme silage and good longevity.

A beautiful marriage between Shalimar and changing Constance, a spicier masculine version of Shalimar absolutely stunning won my heart as my favorite amouage after guidance 🤎

smells a lot like oud cadenza or french avenues's COCOA MORADO . good vanilla , date and oudfragrance

Great quality perfume but very very Musc Ravageur oriented with a Hint of Body Kouros. Good tho
