A beautiful scent that carries Amouage into new territory while staying true to its unmistakable DNA. The opening reminds me slightly of Jubilation, probably because of the blend of honey and fruit, but beyond that it reveals a very different character. It feels refined, daring, and unlike anything else in the collection. Truly one of a kind

Had a decant. Had to scrub off. Smells like a thicker sweeter Naxos - Amouage is my favourite house but this is shocking

The opening of the fragrance is intensely sweet, honeyed, and gourmand — almost to the point of being unpleasant. The mango note is not obvious in its fruity character, but the sugary taste it leaves is noticeable, as if a sweet note replaced it, which might have been more effective. The honeyed style is overused and unremarkable, closely resembling Pure Havana by Mugler, while the gourmand aspect is similar to Angel. The heart of the fragrance has a positive side — a hint of tea is pleasant — but the presence of artificial honey is annoying, and the coffee aspect is unbalanced, as if you’re drinking a coffee with milk with an excessive dose of vanilla and caramel syrup. It also resembles 24 Gold Elixir and Or du Serail from Naomi Goodsir. The base of the fragrance is familiar, yet balanced and not bad, but it didn’t suit me. It is filled with ethyl vanillin (an artificial vanilla substitute) and coumarin (a replacement for tonka beans), making the base more reminiscent of Herod by Parfums de Marly and 24 Gold Elixir. The creative director of Amouage, Renaud Salmon, says: “In order to reach the princess, Sindbad must overcome all kinds of obstacles. After a battle with a treacherous sorceress, Sindbad finds the perfume of life — a powerful substance capable of dispelling evil. He saves the princess, takes the mysterious perfume with him, marries his beloved, and restores hope to his home.” I don’t know where to find his exact words or how they are reflected in the fragrance. Additionally, the concept of the fragrance does not convey inspiration or emotion for the Oman Opera House, nor does it connect meaningfully to Sindbad’s story. Linking it to Sindbad’s tale feels as awkward as replacing Don Vito Corleone’s cigar in The Godfather with a double-apple hookah. Conclusion: When Amouage releases a fragrance, expectations and evaluations are very high due to the luxury it represents. This fragrance feels closer to something Mancera would produce rather than fitting under the Amouage name.

All the crazy hype that has surrounded this perfume is totally UNWARRANTED. The way they held back on the availability and distribution is sad. This perfume smells like rotten tobacco (it's not listed, but I smell it) and pine needles. Please be sure to sample FIRST, and don't fall for the artificial popularity.

This sweet garbage is what we get nowadays meanwhile all the legendary classics like Myths and Bracken get discontinued. It’s sad to see what the house has become.

Dear Fragrance Enthusiasts, I regret to say that this perfume is both impressive and underwhelming at the same time. Berry is an exceptionally successful perfumer who created many of Amouage’s record-breaking fragrances. One of his timeless masterpieces is Black Orchid. However, Sindbad is a fragrance that truly leaves you conflicted. It opens with a sweet, sugary accord balanced by touches of cardamom and ginger. As it develops, the sweetness gradually softens, allowing notes of cappuccino, tonka, and vanilla to emerge. The scent ultimately rests on a gourmand base with subtle sweet nuances. To me, it stands as a successful release—especially after Timber, Reception, Line B612, and Sequence. But when compared to Existence, Decision, and Purpose 50, unfortunately it doesn’t reach the same level; those creations are significantly stronger and more captivating. My guess is that this fragrance was crafted in this particular style to complement the luxury of the Royal Opera House of Oman. Yet, the iconic Amouage DNA we all love—incense, frankincense, and woods—has been left behind. It seems we are witnessing the beginning of a new era for Amouage.

This opens with a very strong honey note on a background of a mixture of dried fruitiness. I can't make out the individual fruits, it's more this menagerie of dried fruit poking out from underneath a heavy honey note. After a bit there's a hint of black tea with some fluffy sweetness and gingery spiciness. As it dries you get a honeyed tobacco vanilla very reminiscent of Boundless. I'm shocked there's no tobacco note listed because I'm telling you it is very similar to the dry down of Boundless. I like it, but if I'm being honest the honey note is too much for my taste. Coupled with the fact that I get a similar wear experience from Boundless—and enjoy it much more from start to finish—buying a full bottle of this is a big no for me. On the other hand if Boundless smothered with a big dose of honey sounds good to you then you are going to love this.

Haven’t tried this yet, but I have ramad earthy which people say is very close, I can’t confirm nor deny that, but if it is, this isn’t that typical burn your nostrils incense like what you get in royal tobacco, I would say this is like an unsmoked or very lightly smoked vanilla incense, which reminds me a lot of serge lutens fumerie turque, I draw a comparison to that much more than all the other comparisons, I can also feel a little of that roaring Radcliffe for sure, but it’s very faintly similar to tobacco vanille and honey tobacco, like same family but distant siblings. In terms of ramad earthy, it’s very smooth and high quality. Not sure I’d spend the money on this one, I think I prefer fumerie turque just a little more

This was so successful it went for more than double the full retail price once sold out in the royal opera house. news it will be available in April/May this was a big success for the house in terms of sales, and it is extremely popular in Oman. you can write as bad as you like but the juice is magic, well received and highly sought after. yes there is a shift in direction with the new creative director but popularity speaks loudly at least for now.

Amouage is going to release a new addition under the name of "ELSEWHERE", I'm not sure when but the rumors have suggested that "ELSEWHERE" will be instead of Sindbad since Sindbad was exclusively released in Oman, so the new one will be released worldwide, even the notes breakdown will be the same. Fingers crossed 🤞🏼

After sampling this, it smells like Tobacco Honey mixed with Blonde Amber. It’s incredible and I will be buying a full bottle of Elsewhere on June 23rd when it releases. 9.5/10 scent and absolutely a top 3 Amouage for me along with Outlands and King Blue.

To everyone waiting for this, we are getting the same formulation of this scent re-released as a new scent confirmed by Amouage insta account called “Elsewhere”, it’s been rumored to be called that for a while now but finally it’s been confirmed.

Luckily not Bisch again, so there's hope for something better than previous creations, closer to Amouage DNA, even if these bottles still look bizarre.
