یک عطر خیلی خوب از برند آمواژ این عطر اصلا تغییر نت بویایی نداره و عطر ساده ای است. در این سایت قید کردند که بوی غالب اول عطر زیره هست. در حالیکه به نظرمن اینطور نیست. زیره حداکثر 30 درصد از کل ساختار عطر رو پایه ریزی میکنه. بوی غالبی که تقریبا در تمام مدت طول بویایی عطر قابل شناسایی هست؛ صمغ لامی است. من فکر میکنم علت اینکه بارزترین رایحه ی این عطر زیره قید شده؛ این هست که اکثر کسانی که در این سایت عضو هستند؛ مثل ما شرقی ها از زیره به مقدار زیاد استفاده نمیکنن و در نتیجه شناخت کافی و دقیق از نت بویایی اون ندارند. در ضمن لامی هم صمغی است که خیلی کمتر شناخته شده هست و برای اکثر قریب به اتفاق مردم بوی این ماده ناشناخته است. به همین علت در قضاوت بین نتهای این عطر در این سایت در این یک مورد بنظر من دقیق عمل نشده. همونطوریکه گفتم نت غالب عطر در اکثر عمر عطر صمغ لامی است و زیره در پس زمینه قرار داره و اصلا مثل سایر عطرهای ادویه ای در جلوی سایر نتها و بصورت غالب وجود نداره. زیره رو با بوییدن دقیق عطر متوجه خواهید شد؛ ولی لامی اجازه ی خودنمایی به زیره نمیده. از نظر من بوی هل محسوستره تا زیره این عطر از نظر من خیلی شبیه به عطر آکاد از برند لوبین هست. ساختار بویایی این دو عطر خیلی زیاده. با این تفاوت که در اپوس 4؛ پس زمینه ای از یک بوی ادویه ای ملایم وجود داره ولی در آکاد این حالت دیده نمیشه پخش بوی اپوس 4 متوسط رو به بالا است و از نظر ماندگاری از دیگر کارهای برند آمواژ کمتره و حدود 6 ساعت یا یکم بیشتر دوام داره A very good perfume from the Amvage brand This perfume does not change the scent note at all and is a simple perfume. On this site, they mentioned that the first dominant smell is cumin. While I don't think so. Cumin forms a maximum of 30% of the entire perfume structure. The dominant smell that can be identified almost throughout the duration of the fragrance; It is gum. I think the reason is that the most prominent scent of this perfume is cumin; It is that most of those who are members on this site; Like us, Orientals do not use cumin in large quantities, and as a result, they do not have a sufficient and accurate knowledge of its smell. In addition, Lami is a gum that is very little known and the smell of this substance is unknown to the vast majority of people. For this reason, judging between the notes of this perfume on this site is not accurate in my opinion. As I said, the dominant note of the perfume for most of its life is gum and cumin is in the background and there is no spice in front of the other notes like other perfumes. You will notice cumin by smelling the perfume carefully; But Lami does not allow Zira to show off. In my opinion, the smell of cardamom is more noticeable than cumin In my opinion, this perfume is very similar to Acad perfume from Lubin brand. The olfactory structure of these two perfumes is very high. with the difference that in Opus 4; There is a background of a mild spicy smell, but this is not seen in Akkad The smell of Opus 4 is medium to high, and in terms of durability, it is less than other products of the Amvage brand, and it lasts about 6 hours or 1 hour longer.

I have been impressed with The Library Collection so far for the most part, and Opus IV is one of the best. As @c0rtland below has mentioned, it reminds me of Fate - one of my favourite Amouages. OIV is a spicy-amber beauty, rich yet airy, featuring a nice citrus accord up top and a dry incense finale. There is a medicinal herbal quality to OIV thanks to the herbal notes and spices, but it is pleasant, offset beautifully by the amber base. Masterfully composed, it is cohesive and of the high quality we have come to expect from this house. OIV opens with a nice citrus accord, giving radiant juicy freshness, bolstered by peppery spice from the get-go. Coriander is put to good use here. Balsamic elemi - perhaps my favourite amber note - emerges in the background, giving a rich, smoothly sweet ambery undertone that elevates the spiced citrus accord, keeping it from potpourri territory. There is an underlying greenness to elemi, which gives it a fresh, realistic and therefore luxurious feel. As it develops, the caraway adds a vermouth-like quality; its warm sweet-spiciness alongside the herbs and hint of greenness make for a slightly medicinal edge. Powdery florals round it out here, with rose most evident, bolstered by violet. It doesn't become lipstick-y though - the spiciness reigns supreme here. The amber base comes to the fore as it dries down, initially balsamic but increasingly animalic as it progresses. It is rich and slightly leathery. The incense note develops, enhancing the base with its characteristically dry, smoky balsamic goodness. It is only a small part of this scent, but is one of my favourite notes, reminiscent of Catholic Mass. Amouage gives good incense in general! It fades to a dry, woody, musky skin scent with a whisper of incense remaining until final fade. Sillage is strong and longevity is long-lasting. It is unisex. An excellent balsamic scent with a nice incense note, the herbal and spicy notes make this smooth, rich and comforting. Another gem from one of the best perfumes houses. 4.5/5.

Yes, yes, yes. This scent is like reading a beautiful, ancient novel that slowly unfolds & unfurls, page by page, on your skin - strange, compelling, addictive, exotic, timeless. If you like resinous-incense scents, you will love Opus IV. It is deep yet translucent, rich yet never sickly, incense-smokey without the fire. The fleeting opening is citrus & quite bright: green & luminous with a fresh astringency. It is as glowing & gilded as the rising sun. There is a rosey, fruity aspect, too: but here the fruits are dried, candied, chewy and exotic, dusted with rose petals. In time the resins & cardamom begin to warm in the intense dry heat. There is incense - the good kind: a little churchy, a little hippy, a little exotic. The paired-back sweetness & resins on hot coals lend a touch-of-the-sauna to Opus IV. Underneath, I am aware of a sharp metallic note - never unpleasant, just intriguing. I burn frankincense & love this tangy aspect it imparts. I do not detect any sweaty notes AT ALL (& I often have trouble with cumin in perfume). The dryness is delightful - I love a parched scent! Sunbaked papyrus pages in a desert where gnarled trees ooze resinous sap & the ground smells of baked clay. It is neither masculine nor feminine; not quite eastern, never western...this is one of those rare scents that will transport you away from the hububb of your life. I would enjoy this on any skin as it has an otherworldly quality & a story-telling ability that I admire in perfumery. Opus IV is, like others in the Library Collection, big, bold & vocal but never vulgar or brash - it has breeding & lines. If you like your perfumery "pretty" or "clean & simple" stay well clear because this beauty has bags of personality & sophistication & will last & last without slapping you in the face as way of an introduction. I think if you enjoy Tauers L'Air DDM then you should sample this scent. Simply put: WANT. To try it is to buy it - now pride of place in my collection.

"You smell like a burning hippie. Like many months unwashed dreadlocks caught fire when they got too close to the kitchen stove," according to my partner, which must mean this smells great. And oh so it does. The opening fruity sweetness and sourness of grapefruit, orange, and lemon with an ample does of aromatic coriander pulls no punches and lets you know you're in for a ride. After a substantially long dry down, just when you're not sure how much more you can take, cumin and aromatic caraway come on to the scene to provide some relief and usher in this fragrance's delightful and defining chapter. Swirls of soft florals, tame and gentle violet leaf (as opposed to the fuel-like note we're so used to) and powdery rose, give a picture of an alluring and delicate elixir of some far away exotic land. After, again, some substantially more time, you're brought back home with familiar and comforting incenses, labdanum, and musks. All of this is an odd, overtly exotic mélange that shouldn't work on paper - and if you smell it on paper it sort of confirms that - but on skin, while it wafts about you, evolves and plays in the air, it feels so special. It's as if you just met someone in a completely foreign land, of a completely different culture, with completely different tastes, but they have a completely disarming smile and charm, they think the same of you, and you instantly establish a lifelong bond of mutual friendship and affection. It's gorgeous, unique, and special, and you can't wait for your next rendezvous.

Overwhelming perfume... I would suggest thinking twice before even trying this on yourself, because it's kind of disturbung fragrance for some people. I wore it yesterday and it caused headache for some more sensitive people in my environment (after only two sprays!). Of course, I am not dicouraged by that - I love this perfume! It's a serious and strong juice, not every person could wear it. Staying power and sillage is really huge. The smell itself really reminds me of an ancient library. I imagine Library of Alexandria, where dusty papyruses and manuscipts absorb all those exotic scents of antique scenery: Egyptian spices, Arabian incense, unfamiliar herbs of Middle East, brought by travellers and merchants. Smell of those absolutely unknown and obscure times, which are said to have been rich and opulent, but one can doubt the really existed. Smell of unreality and past. It smells very poetic to me - obviously, it always happens when you think of perfume in a poetic way. I'm a huge fan of incense, tried lots of them, and in my opinion this mix of incense, labdanum and spices deserves to be properly evaluated and appreciated in whole context of perfumery. As someone mentioned - nowhere similar to minimalistic Cardinal or CdG series. Definitely worth respect.

A newly acquired favorite! Very human, in the sense that it doesn ́t feel like a perfume after a while on the skin; it blends so well with my chemistry. The CUMIN in this is what creates this quality, it ́s so close to human, fresh, male sweat that it complements and enhances the more desirable olfactory notes of the human body. I must also comment that cumin is very different from caraway, as it is wrongly listed as here. Caraway smells and tastes a bit like anis seed, while cumin has this human body note which, to me, is very alluring. Reminds me of a well behaved, spicier version of my beloved Al Oudh from L ́Artisan Parfumeur, but is by far not as wildly, suggestively sexual as Al Oudh. Initially I thought the cardamom was too overpowering, but this mellows down after a while and turns into a more musky base note, quite soon in the drydown. It ́s definitely a very oriental fragrance, but isn ́t at all heavy and can easily be worn even in warmer weather. This was a blind buy for me and only proves that one CAN be lucky, if the notes appeal to you, do your homework and read the critiques here on Fragrantica. Highly recommended and bravo to the creators of this heavenly juice! My new signature fragrance!

So Caraway became a bird and bird like she danced beautifully, delicately yet powerfully. A better interpretation of Caraway and Coriander thats seen here will be difficult to find. This review is for the 2012 bottle thats vaulted and treasured by a friend but who was kind enough to part with a 10 ml decant. The older pre ifra Amouage library collection perfumes are truly collectibles and Opus IV is perhaps one of the most stunning Amouage scents. On the clothes Opus IV lingers on for more then ten days and radiates beautiful wafts of cumin, incense, florals.. The projection is nuclear but not a cumin/ caraway bomb that could scare people away. Two sprays takes you and the people you meet to culinary spices heaven. Caraway & Coriander is very artistically blended with resinous incense. If you can find 'genuine' Library bottles made before 2014 they are certainly collectibles because such magical scents are unlikely to be made again .. Good luck finding them

A dazzling, sour, tart fanfare of opulence announces itself, with proper old-school incense immediately apparent, like nag champa sticks. The dense, fruity sourness reminds me of Overture Man, but this one isn't boozy. There's a dry, camphor note alongside rosehip which reminds me of Gold Man. Everything here smells real, not perfumey. Imagine you grind all of those elements in a pestle and mortar and squeeze in some grapefruit, that's the experience I get during the first stage of Opus IV. As grapefruit (especially with violet leaf) often features in a style of perfume which, to me, is the most hackneyed and boring, it takes a real masterpiece for me not to be immediately reminded of those generic scents, and this doesn't let me down. Nothing smells like this, and nothing comes close to matching the sense of quality and opulence it gives me, even most from the Amouage canon (this is Ubar or Fate Woman level). 10/10 for me. Unique brilliance.

Opus VI is like the reflection of hot sun rays on a dry, rocky desert ground. An oriental, woody, smoky amber fragrance. It's filled with every form of amber and resins. Warm, soft, spicy, animalic, leathery, smoky, and powdery. From the start, you'll recognize it as a linear fragrance with few transitions, somewhat similar to Opus IV in its ambery, incense-laden, and resinous character, though less spicy and drier. It opens with a spicy peppery note intertwined with labdanum and frankincense, creating a smoky facet with a light sweetness from earthy, warm patchouli and dense amber with a sticky, ambergris-like quality, evoking hints of dried black lime and a subtle animalic tone with a faint bitter almond touch, likely from tonka bean. Rich, clearly oriental woody features stand out, but it may feel slightly monotonous. Luxurious, yes, but one you might revisit only occasionally over long intervals.

Have smelled it in Selfridges and tested on my skin. Absolutely beautiful and a very warm citrussy, spicy, herbaceous concotion full of yellow, orange and marigold tones....like an olfactory sunrise...on your skin. Not overly heavy or cloying like "Gold" and definitely more European in structure and appearance. The incense gives it a churchy note that unfolds subtly from underneath all the citrus notes. All in all a very, very likeable and well rounded Mediterranean citrus with warm undertones. I'd say an excellent evening summer scent or even a winter daytime. If you like AQUA DI PARMA, you'll love this!! Expensive but you'll know that some 15% of retail revenues are being given to HIV/AIDS charities in Oman as a symbolic acknowledgement of WOrld Aids Day 2010. AMEN!

Spray this one and leave far behind your miseries, your failures, your lost chances and through a wormhole go to a south indian (hydrabadi) wedding where guests are chatting, teenaged girls are giggleing, a soft music is played in the background and spicy hot biryani is served to guests. Taleb is right. But this is Biryani rice and more. This may not work for someone in India but to a western nose this could be perfumed nirvana. I get a little bit cardamon, lot of cumin, corinder and mace though mace, (which I think is seperated from nutmeg) is not mentioned here. Drydown is the best part. The spices get mellowed and sweeter. Would I recommend it? Yes. Partly becoz the money is also spent for a good cause. But a better idea would be to test it before spending so much.

Wow. I had forgotten how good this was... I had a really REALLY good chance to buy this for less than 50% off a few years back, and I'm starting to regret this... All I have left is a tiny sample, less than half a ml, so I'm gonna decant it into a spray bottle and spray it on and see how I go 'living' with it... There is a gorgeous caraway-cumin note (Al Oudh) along with a near-gourmand herbal-spicy rust note which really REALLY works well with the cumin presence. It works better than Fate and Interlude, and I'm finding myself REAAALLY thinking long and hard about whether or not I need to add this to my 'buy list'. Lord knows I have enough on that list as it is... Anyway, food for thought. Sometime next week I'm gonna spray it on, and we'll see how I go then...

This is really good, probably my favorite Opus after XI. The open I wasn't crazy for, the violet is a bit raw in the open but very quickly the spices, incense and amber comes through and it's superb. It's got this really great fizzy spicy element to it sat over the top of a great green peppery incense. I don't love Fate Man. I own it but I don't wear it that often, but I love Epic Man. This seems to sit as like a clash of those two and maybe even hints of a few others in the regular lineup like Honour, Memoir and Beloved. Sounds like that would be a hodgepodge but it really works. If this was released as one of the regular lineup as I don't know "Awoken" or some other such word Christopher Chong had in his head at the time this would have been a hit I think.

This one is wickedly devilish. Either you will want to scrub it off after the first 10 minutes or you are so flabbergasted that you want to see what more it has to offer. This one goes in every direction. From CDG to Tauer to of course Amouage. Deliciously balsamic, on the verge of being raw and animalic to being a typical resinous scent. All of the spices are easily detectable at one point of time during the maturation of this scent but it maintains a somewhat wearableness about it. Most likely not to many but I think fans of the legendary Tauer 02 LDDM such as myself will at least like this one even though you may not consider it full bottle worthy as it lacks a certain sweetness about it. It's pretty much dark,dry and spicy with a hint of warmthness.

Wowee!!! What a little stunner this is! For me the jewel in the crown of the Opus collection...reminds me a little of Fate man with the strong cardamom and other cooking spices. But that takes a few minutes to develop and like many Amouage fragrances the transitions are frequent as the mixing pot swills around and settles itself down on your skin. The opening is supreme, heavenly I get a huge fruity, juicy, refreshing mandarin and citrus then comes the typical cumin/fenugreek/caraway/cardamom etc... spices and ton of incense, also floral sweetness coming from something all this with a musky base. This fragrance is complex but somehow peaceful and has a mellow meditative vibe about it. I'm a fan!

I was going to write a review for this wonderful scent, but then realized that sky76sky's review says everything I could possibly want to say about this scent, and quite probably much more eloquently than I would have said it myself. I need to quote originaldeftom's review as well as I find this particular line to be oh so spot on: "Absolutely beautiful and a very warm citrusy, spicy, herbaceous concoction full of yellow, orange and marigold tones....like an olfactory sunrise...on your skin." Simply put, this is a great scent and one of my autumn favorites (my other autumn favorites are L'Anarchiste, Bois de Turquie, and the underrated Davidoff Adventure).

straightaway, i'm knocked out by that spice-punch! it's not as pungent as regular cumin, i'd say it's 'black cumin', or 'shah-jeera' in hindi. it's a milder pungency, less offensive and more suitable for perfumery. there's smokiness in the background as well as other spicyness. it's what you come to know, love and expect from amouage. that said, it does smell quite familiar though. i've smelt this before in amouage. i've been trialling and reviewing a whole heap of amouages recently, i've smelt this before somewhere. maybe epic or honour? i'm not sure where, but it's familiar. either way, a solid offering here. wonderful, noticeable and truly amouage...

@ Velb95: I could not disagree with your review more. I think this scent is a masterpiece! Every perfume should be tried first on skin and observed in its olfactory and body phermone reaction, before committing to buying a £195 bottle (lol). I appears to me as a "no-braining" exercise (unless you are the winner of the recent £166m jackpot....and even then why would you wanna have a scent that you do not agree with?!?) I cannot wait to buy the scent for this upcoming autumn/ XMas season. Just try a different one if you do not like this one. Simplez! (said like Meerkat)

The opening is somewhat unpleasant like Jubilation IIV, but not as strong as Jubilation IIV. It is very short lived though. After 10-15 minutes on the skin, it transforms to one of the spiciest, most mysterious, and most elegant scents I have ever smelled in my life. The journey continues for easily +15 hours on the skin. I can even smell it after I take a shower. It is subtle, yet everyone within 5ft notices the smell even after ten hours on the skin. It reminds me of a vintage box of jewelry, antique, or an ancient place. A must have in any collection.

Well crafted!!! It is very close to the smell of Agarwood as incense, I mean the smell of burnt(at lower temperature) agarwood, Kyara. Kyara is very much high quality Jin-koh(agarwood incense). The good point is incense-like smell stays for a while, longer than the incense, of course. Very Asian type of smell, rather than Arabian. Touching. Thank you.

This fragrance reminds me of my childhood. My grandfather's old house, the cobblestone streets in those distant months of December. I have better fragrances than this one, but this feeling of remembering those nostalgic years only produced this fragrance and that is why I acquired it. To smell my old memories

woww this is spice and elemi powerhouse. It is getting fresher after and hour. Very longlasting and sillage. But not in a good way.. some people complained about its strange smell. I like it though. I want to be different. This is classy, classic and luxury arabian affair.

glorious and chewy... so addictive that i am always tempted to spray more, but one or two is definitely sufficient. dried fantasy fruit in an old coffret. on my skin and to my nose completely distinct personality to Fate Man.

Holy cumin Batman. Opus iv is spiced af. Airy and dry. Complex. The Opus relative of Fate. A more sophisticated wear with less sweetness. Gorgeous! Top 3 Opus for me would be IV, rose incense and royal tobacco.

Opulent, rich, dense, semi-sweet, semi-powdery, all of it spectacular. Special occasion wear - especially if seeking to impress. Scent: 10 Projection: 8 Longevity: 7 Value: 9

Cardamom, caraway, elemi and incense bomb on me. Many of my favorite notes! I agree with the previous reviewer, AveParfum, that it's not a total masterpiece, but so good.

Not a review as I haven't smelled it yet but I thought I should mention that the official Amouage page lists *cumin* and not caraway as a note.

The most beautiful perfume I ever tried. Deep, mysterious and ethereal. Lovely. I don't think I'll ever get fed up with it.

Amouage’s Library Collection is an excellent opportunity to discover a more experimental line of this reputable company. Although it does represent a certain digression from its classic line with its typical references to Middle Eastern traditions in perfumery (while producing resolutely modern fragrances), Amouage’s principal philosophy, which places great emphasis on the quality of materials (both raw and synthetic) as well as their masterful blending, is undeniably present in the line. Opus IV is a spicy fragrance from top to bottom. Its head is dominated by the tangy smell of coriander, which is soon coupled with cardamom. After their brief tête-à-tête, another major player enters the game- cumin. I’ve come to appreciate cumin in perfumes, but I’ve also experienced that it can turn very naughty if not handled properly. Even though Opus IV’s cumin is far from delicate and therefore I’d advise all avowed cuminophobes to stay away from this perfume, I find the way it’s been treated and blended into its structure nothing short of remarkable. I believe it is thanks to the inclusion of cumin that the scent gradually adopts a sweetish (but never overly sweet!) character. To be honest, there isn’t an awful lot of development in Opus IV. However, the resulting composition is so well put together that there is no need for any dramas here. Sometimes class and elegance can be expressed in just a couple of words or, in this case, notes. Deceptively simple yet brilliant work.

When I first discovered Amouage, the salesperson tried to direct me away from the Library collection, like she was slightly ashamed of their unbridled weirdness. I've come back to them years later, and trying them in order, IV is the first that I think takes some risks and could merit that kind of reaction. The fragrance goes on deeply balsamic, then turns more foody/spicy. I smell caraway, coriander seed, sour sumac sprinkled over top ... and some cade-like meaty/smoky/bbq notes. Am I describing grilled meat or perfume? Exactly. However my enjoyment of this is inversely proportional to my nose’s distance from my wrist. Up too close it's the wrong kind of gourmand, but further off the sillage is stunning - exotic, intriguing and unique. Less spicy, more floral. Unisex, but I think this would be the biggest head-turner wafting from an expensively-dressed woman. Finally, the late drydown settles into burning frankincense. This isn't a fragrance profile I smell on people around me, and I don't think I have the courage to be the Johnny Appleseed of smelling-like-kebab*. But the sillage is incredible and this fragrance is giving me all the feels. *Probably the whitest thing I’ve ever said. Obviously I’m finding this one a bit culturally challenging.

Opus IV caught my attention. It feels and it smells like a well made perfume. The opening is spicy, little sweet with a minor incense smell. Then it becomes sweeter with more incense. It's not my type of scent, simply because it smells like 'stick incense', BUT I have to say that Opus IV is a delight (if you are into or want to try an incense fragrance). Even with the incense and sweet notes, the perfume stayed calm and close to the skin. It feels exotic...maybe I'm changing my mind. Now I can smell less of the incense and more of some fruit notes. While I debate in my mind if I like it and where can I wear this scent, all I have to say is that Opus IV is a fantastic, different and of excellent quality fragrance.

If you're an impatient wrist-sniffer and don't wait the ten or so seconds it will take for the alcohol at the instant of application to evaporate, you may notice that even the alcohol smells expensive, like a good brandy. Good old Amouage! Their attention to detail never fails to please me. Opens lemony-citrusy but with tremendous depth, not an astringent citrus at all. Resinous, spicey, woody, fairly short-lived for an Amouage perfume, with sillage that will not inadvertently maim innocent passers-by, this is a clean and pleasant perfume with a handsome face and nice tailoring.

A very interesting and unique incense themed Oriental Chypre from the masters of incense perfumes. The perfume opens with a flurry of citrus, slowly giving to a spicy resin heart first comprised of elemi, coriander, caraway and cardamom and then revealing some rose, violet leaf and labdanum before settling into a base of frankincense and synthetic musk. The unisex perfume has moderate sillage and very good longevity. Reminiscent of a middle eastern bazaar area and suited for slightly more adventurous perfume lovers. Enjoy!

Along to Avignon the most ''Churchy'' fragrance that I have ever smelled. Although, the majority of fragrances by Amouage are very heavy on the incense aspect. But Opus IV it's ''too much incense'' at least for me. It's very thick. Apart from incense I detect aslo elemi, labdanum and musk. Totally unisex. IMO only for Autumn and Winter and perhaps for cool spring days. Incense fragrances for Summer aro too much crushing. I enjoy this one. I get a ton of grapefruit in the opening stages with a background of swirling spice and dry incense. I appreciate the citrus/incense combo as opposed to the berry and plum of Jubilation and/or Initio Magnetic Blend 8. It's a pleasant contrast. Long after the citrus fades, this contrast continues with an abstract, bright floral set against typical Amouage resinous dark notes. I got compliments first time I wore his, for whatever it's worth.

winter day, sunny, recent snow fall melting, opus iv provides a spicy background if one likes the amouage palette, this fits in. dry strength moving towards a mildly floral sweet. i find the perfume coriander very different than the culinary version. i like both. but the fragrance on my skin is of tickling spice. light and fun but with character. not gourmand for me. i do not get a story or picture here. rather, it works for me more as a mood.

On my hand it wasn't anything great but on one of my cotton shirts it smelt amazing (while on another one it wasn't that great). I smell rose here but it is a rose that is dark or worn out, faint, covered with lots of dust, something like that. And something sour red, maybe rosehip. Then there is some sort of incense or resin, I'm not sure which one. In total it smells like something old that used to be great once. Definitely interesting.

7/10. Herbal sweet incense. White musk. Not citrusy but burnt orange rind. Not gender specific more like a historical cathedral or library. The incense is bright and high flying. A whiskey bourbon old fashioned cocktail with an orange rind. Edit: On my husband this smells very different. Very spicy and aggressive. The soft tones are not evident.

Strongly spicey: cardamomo, coriander, caraway. I can’t smell orange, lemon. At first really enjoyable and sensual, then it is too spicey. Really persistent! May be it can be worn to go out, not for working or in closed places. At the end i can’t say I dislike it but it is too heavily spiced. To try with less sprays.

Starts as more citrusy Tauer 02/Memo African leather, quickly (I mean several minutes!) turns into something much milder, full of resins, most people around me said it reminds them of cola drinks. Out of all the scents that smell like cola this is my personal favorite. You just have to find yours!

Opus IV is a real stunner! The citrus opening is bright and refreshing, then it transitions into this warm, spicy, slightly sweet heart with hints of rose. The incense and musk base is gorgeous and makes it very sophisticated. Perfect for cooler weather.

this perfume takes me back to ohod in medina. the exit to the site is thronged by women selling crushed henna, flowers of maryam and other herbal powders. if i were to put all that in a bag, i think after a day it would smell like opus iv.

To me this is predominantly sweet spicy oriental fragrance. Not much of incense, more mandarin - sweet/ elemi?- galbanum/rose type. it is not caraway nor cardamom, if you have smelled them.

This is so close to perfect, but it misses extraordinarily due to the sweetness. If it were 10-15% more smokey, 10-15% less sweet, it would be my ideal fragrance. The smell of nag champa. As it sits, it strays too close to bubble tape gun - chewy, somewhat powdery, and definitely sweet. The powder/dusty element does drive it close to library smell. Ugh, so close but so far.

This is predominantly bubblegum on me, with a touch of incense. It’s a ton of cardamom (which I think contributes a lot to the bubblegum scent), some cumin, and some elemi. Very fruity. I only see citrus in the notes as far as fruit, but it's not citrusy at all. It's fruity and sweet like pink bubblegum. I don’t care for it.

The nose behind this so called fragrance wanted to mimic a scene of which you accidentally broke a flask full of intense smelling type of a spice while you were at a spice shop in India maybe, and regretting it. But you won't regret the royal dry down after the scene is over.

I really wanted to enjoy this one, especially if not for the reason that Amouage donates 50% of sales of this fragrance to HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control Program in Oman. Much to my dismay however, I am easily able to sum up this fragrance in two words; CUMIN BOMB!!! (85)

I like spicey perfumes but this?? Uummm ..... NO! I now know that cumin and caraway are not for me.

The main note here is cumin (not caraway!!!) here is very strong and when you wear this perfume you feel like you didn't took a shower for a week. Other persons (I mean your friends, that feel free to tell you this) ask you: "didn't you have the time for a shower today?" I can understand that Amouage intended to add to this perfume some "natural and wild man's smell", but when them realized that the disaster perfumery was created instead, Amouage decided to bring it to "charity" to 50% of the costs, which will be devoted to the fight against HIV in Oman, covering this way at least all the costs of production. It costs you EUR 290, I've ordered it because of great head notes and because of other 3 great Amouage Opuses I've ordered before, but now I understand that I won't ever use it. I also told about this problem of cumin hard smell to Amouage administration manager Mr. Joyce Henderson (Amouage UK office). He respond me that he supposes that I have to take a shower more frequently and that me and my skin both are the problem for Amouage Opus IV and not vice versa. So, I think that it was the last time, I've ordered Amouage perfumes. Il cumino in Opus IV è un vero disastro, perché in questo caso è troppo forte, perciò quando indossi questo profumo, ti senti come se non avessi fatto la doccia per almeno di una settimana. Altre persone (ovviamente, gli amici che si sentono in confidenza da dirtelo) ti chiedono se “non avessi avuto il tempo per la doccia oggi”. E finché non ti lavi, sei condannato a girare tra la gente con una sensazione schifosa di puzzare come un vagabondo. Posso capire che Amouage intendeva di aggiungere a questo profumo l’odore selvatico “naturale” dell’uomo, ma quando ha capito che avrebbe creato un disastro profumerico, ha deciso di portalo a “beneficenza” a 50% delle spese, che saranno devolute per la lotta contro l’HIV in Oman, coprendo così almeno tutte le spese di produzione. Vorrei ricordarvi che il costo di Opus IV è di EUR 290 (e non sono pochi!). Io l’ho comprato insieme con altre 3 Opus (che sono delle vere creazioni meravigliose), a causa delle sue note di testa nolto piacevoli, ma ora capisco che non lo potrò indossare mai.
