The Library Collection Silver Oud

What's that smell? Is that you? No, it's Amouage Sliver Oud: like a moth to the flame. Oh Amouage. What have you done? First, there was Interlude Man. Then, there was Interlude Black Iris. Then, if those weren't enough, there was Interlude Man 53. And then there was what might be called, Interlude Sith Lord, er, Silver Oud. Yes, this is very much like a trip to the dark side of the force. Imagine Darth Vader, with his long, drawn out synthesized-sounding breaths cut short by the choke-force of a coughing fit. Yes, it's a tad bit smokey and goes on pretty intense, kind of like Anakin screaming at Obi Wan while crawling out of the lava. Ok, ok... enough Star Wars imagery. Silver Oud is like sucking a good deal of the sweetness and green notes out of Interlude Man and leaving you with something a bit more... I don't know, daring? Certainly it's that - at least for the first 10 minutes or so. Now, it does get some sweetness after a while, but it really kind of depends, like many scents of this type, where you're smelling it from. This is something that may smell nicely wafting in the air around you like typical (real) Oud-based fragrances do. Put your nose right up to it and you'll most likely get something different. Except here, it's pretty intense and, well, addictive. Not to mention, mysterious. Mysterious is part of the marketing of this scent, but to my nose, and I agree with @Olfactologist's review below, a big portion of that mystery may be coming from an ingredient missing on the official notes. I say that because I'm getting something that's like a dark, smoldering berry note in here. Whether it's raspberry or something else, I cannot tell. But it's there, floating in and out amongst the dark patchouli and other notes and it's very addictive. It's not gourmand by any means, but it's like how patchouli can have a dark chocolate vibe, then this dark, sweet note of raspberry or something, along with the smoke... it's, well, mysterious! I'm certain other perceptions will vary, nevertheless. Longevity is top notch. Sillage is good, but hard for me to comment on as I haven't moved around much today. Over the course of its development, the vanilla comes into play but it's never really in the foreground. At first, initial spray, you get the sense that you might want to wait about 10 minutes or so before going anywhere as it's a bit challenging, but after a while it's got that Interlude's darker, broodier brother thing going on with a hint of sweetness to it. I'll admit, at first, I thought... Mmmm, I don't know if I like this as much as Interlude, but after a second wearing, it's really growing on me and just goes into a different direction. It very well could be the scent for those who dislike the oregano note in Interlude. Or those who don't mind playing with the dark side of the force. Big thumbs up! P.S. Balushi is correct - it reads "It's all about..." on the side of the box.

Finally, Amouage release "the" oud! For an Arabic house, Amouage surely stayed way too long away from oud fragrances (excluding oils). Yeah, they used it in some fragrances but they have never ever released a true atomized oud-centered fragrance before.. ..& they delivered! Silver Oud is a beautiful, classic oud fragrance. Exemplary, classic woody oud dominates. Oud smell that is typical of oud oils, Indian in particular. That oud smell has its earthy facets enhanced with nagarmotha, and the castoreum adds a distinctive -but not repulsive- animalic musk accord. Finally, a vanilla-sweetened amber softens Silver Oud and gives it an incensy, almost burnt/smoky feel, that is just beautiful. Of note, the opening is animalic but as it dries down, that incensy amber accord gradually takes over the castoreum's animality. The oud is stable throughout. With Silver Oud, Amouage managed to create a smell akin to the smell of burnt oud wood. I've been dreaming of this. While not exactly like burnt oud, Silver Oud is the closest I've found in a bottle. Hurrah! Oudy, woody, animalic, warm, lightly-spicy, slightly-sweet, ambery, incensy. Silver Oud is an absolute success! It is not a totally new oud smell. But it is a classic formula, perfected! There are many things to like about Sliver Oud: the dominance of classic oud, the attractive animality of castoreum, the incensy burnt amber. It is simply gorgeous! I do understand why some connect it to Interlude Man. It does not smell like it but both fragrances share that same incensy slightly-sweet ambery accord. You can think of Silver Oud as really, really oudy Interlude Man. This has shot up to be among my favorite ouds EDPs ever. I predict that it is going to dominate the top tier atomized oud market here in Arabia. This is what grooms are going to wear from now on, if they can afford it. Silver Oud is the smell of Arabic weddings, bottled. Silver Oud is expensive, selling at 95 Omani Rials (~$245) per 50ml bottle in Amouage's boutiques in Oman, the home of Amouage. Also, nothing really "silver" here. Maybe they called it that to symbolize traditional Omani masculinity, as silver is the main, and almost only, precious metal Omani men wear in the form of rings, watches, daggers, and swords. Amouage, you've been long overdue but you delivered. A cool weather, unisex but leans masculine fragrance. Quite luxurious and intimate at the same time, so pick your occasion. "Love"!

Oud is a challenging note for me, but as a perfume lover, it is a hugely important note to learn to appreciate. Steeped in ancient tradition, oud is a central ingredient in Middle Eastern and Asian perfumery. With its ambery, leathery animalic beauty, this unique wood has become trendy in Western perfumery in recent years. While I have grown to love a good rose-oud accord, Silver Oud is the first oud-dominant fragrance that has captured my attention. No better house to succeed in this endeavour than Amouage, hailing from Oman and specialising in exceptional compositions made with the highest quality ingredients. Silver Oud showcases various facets of the oud note at its heart, complemented by other well-chosen notes. This is a perfume that can teach doubters to love oud. The central oud note is present from the opening, initially dry and woody with a lovely earthy undertone thanks to the patchouli/cypriol. There is a smokiness to this scent that increases as it develops - a lovely alternative to dank, leathery oud as it so often appears. The cedar enhances the woody side of the oud note here. The smoky-woody opening brings to mind a bonfire on the beach. As it develops, the oud becomes more ambery and animalic. Vanilla adds sweet smoothness, giving almost a balsamic quality to the oud here. The amber accord develops, becoming leather-like and salty as it begins to dry down. Birch tar and guaiac wood contribute to the leathery-woody effect. The smokiness keeps the amber-oud accord light and dry, in touch with its woody side. It is very animalic as it dries down, but the smokiness keeps its palatable. It fades to a smoky, dry leathery-oud skin scent. Sillage is strong and longevity is long-lasting. Masculine-leaning and with strong performance, SO is an extroverted autumn/winter scent. SO is an authentic rendering of oud that also happens to be more palatable than many other ouds I've tried, thanks to the smokiness, earthiness and other woody notes. I'm not sure I'd wear this, but I absolutely adore SO. Oud can be an acquired taste, but SO should win over anyone with a nose. A masterpiece. 5/5.

این واقعیت را اعتراف میکنم که من از هواداران سرسخت آمواژ هستم، و تقریبا هر کاری که از این برند دوست داشتنی بیرون آمده را تست کردم و لذتش را برده ام مخصوصا در سال های اخیر شخصیت این برند بسیار خوش فرم شده و انگار که میداند چه می خواهد و به کجا میخواهد برسد. القصه در خصوص این عطر سیلور عود، همان گونه که از نامش میتوان فهمید، با کاری شرقی و گرم رو به رو هستیم که در مجموع رایحه ای خوش تراش از چوب ها و چرم است. . ترکیبی که آمده است تا قدرت و بی احساسی را به شما القا کند. منطورم از بی احساسی همان القای نوع خاصی از جذابیت مردانه است چوب سدر این اثر را بسیار در خور ستایش میبینم چرا که تند و تیزی نه اذیت کننده ای را در همان نوت های اولیه به مشام می رساند که مثل ناخنیست که درست در محل درست پوست فرود می آید تا خارش را تبدیل به یک حس خوب کند. و در انتها باید بگویم که مبادا از این عطر در هر جا و با هر لباسی استفاده کنید ،که دقت در چیدمان اجزای پوشش بسیار به شما برای گرفتن بازخوردهای نیک از این عطر کمک میکند.

I’ve been enjoying this more and more. When I first got it, I was expecting a very smokey oudy loud type of thing, and was initially let down. After wearing it more, I’m actually glad that isn’t what it is. It goes on very dry and woody with dark greens. It is pretty bold in the beginning, but then sweetens and settles into something dark and addictive. It lasts a long time, but isn’t obnoxious. It could be cloying in the heat, so it’s best for cooler days. I can’t say that the price is justified, though it seems quality. It’s not for everyone, but I’ll put it to good use.

As someone who never really "got" the whole oud thing, and was happy to smell and leave most of them, I was surprised when I smelt this and thought "hmm, I could wear that and be happy". I don't get the stinky, barnyard oud from this - I just get sweet complex earthy woody rounded linear smells. I agree that whether you like oud or not, you should try this and dont blind buy (does anyone do that at Amouage price point?!?!?" :-)

But they were all of them deceived, for another perfume was made. In the land of Mordor, in the fires of Mount Doom, the Dark Lord Zaurokian created in secret, a master perfume, to control all others. And into this perfume she poured all her cruelty, her malice and her will to dominate all scents. One perfume to rule them all. Dark, thick and smoky with a little bit of Ork lurking in the shadows. My preciousss...

This is everything that I wanted from the current version of Chanel Antaeus multipled by 10.

I am by no means an expert but probably have enough of a collection of contemporary and classic frags to be able to make observations which, though not authoritative, are informed-ish. I do possess full bottles of about 20 Amouage fragrances. This one is weird but does some very cool things. The strangest thing I find is that it has one kind of experience at arm's length -- that of a woody dark berry incense most similar to Blackmail by Kerosene or Jubilation XXV -- and then another if you sniff closely to your arm that synergy dissolves into its component elements and you no longer smell that same melange. The berry/patchouli thing goes away the closer your nose is to the deposit of frag on your skin, in a way that is more three-dimensional than any other experience I have had, to be replaced by the leathery/castoreum basenotes. Does this belie my novice status? Perhaps, but it is so well done that I don't care, and the old saw has it that any technology that one is not sophisticated enough to understand is indistinguishable from Magic. It goes on like that for hours and then the vanilla comes in, but it's not like a gourmand vanilla. It's more like the actual whole bean out of the McCormick's spice jar that you put in your hot toddy on a winter's night. The bottle is clearly smaller than any of the Opus series, so here on Fragrantica it appears misclassified. I think it skews distinctly masculine and not sure I have ever met a woman for whom this would be flattering (but there are more people out there that I haven't met than there are whom I have, so don't hold me to that). Performance is solid (2 sprays is about right unless you like to bludgeon people with your funk), this is a fall/winter thing and kind of weighty. Is it an oud? Kind of. Not literally. There is oud in there but it is sort of like the Amouage Epic Man oud. I'm glad I got the FB -- this and Boundless are my favorite releases from Amouage since Interlude Black Iris.

A sophisticated Western friendly woody amber scent this is a nice but unexceptional offering from Amouage. The scent opens with the dominant patchouli note that stays throughout the wear of the perfume. At first it is surrounded by hints of cedar and cypriol. Then we get a nice Hindi Oud with hints of vanilla and smoky birch . The perfume settles into a dessert like powder with an ambery musky guaiac finish. Overall, this late entry into the Oud scent market is nice because for once it does not include heavy florals or musks but at the same time it is a very sanitized treatment of the Oud note. The unisex scent has fairly strong sillage and lasts forever because of addition of an ambroxan like molecule. Enjoy!

She does it again! Really nice, gorgeous little bottle. It’s nice and dark, the castoreum is not shy, so if it’s a note that you don’t like, it’s definitely here, right from the open. It’s quite pleasant overall...slightly smoky, but not intensely so. But ultimately there’s nothing unique about it other than an oud from this house. As others have said, it’s reminiscent of many other perfumes from many other houses..I don’t understand the comparisons to Interlude- nothing even remotely close. The dry down is soft and playful. Overall, happy with the purchase but will not rebuy.

Pretty good, it's like a burning/smoking patchouli, oud and sweet amber feeling to me. Opens with a excellent slightly fermented style leathery oud (and I'm sure the castoreum is helping here), then gets sweet and ambery, a little sticky feeling and then starts to get earthier and smokier as it dries where the castoreum also begins to take over the oud. It isn't the same fragrance as the oud in here is an obvious and better difference but it reminded quite a bit of Orto Parisi Terroni but a much more elegant version.

When it comes to smell, this isn’t very unique or creative, it is like a combination of multiple amouages, and it reminds me a lot of tobacco oud intense. When it comes to performance, this creation is on a whole new level, if there is a level beyond beast mode and nuclear mode, this perfume even exceeds this level. Never have i ever in my entire life tried a perfume that performs like this.

Dark, potent, rich, leathery and smoky Oud. Good but redundant. It does not reflect the Amouage DNA to me and smells like many other such creations from houses like Arabian Oud, Abdul Samad Al Qurashi etc. For the price to value ratio, one may argue a more potent product being available from a house like Ajmal. Try before you buy! Shukran Habibi!

- Main notes - Cocoa-y oud - a variety of smoke - a bit castoreum at bottom Smell good? 4-5/10 Smell Interesting? 7.8/10 In Short A deep, chocolatey "oud" , quickly gives way to a variety of layered and diverse smoky notes. In Details The top of this fragrance can be precisely broken down into two scents: a smoky hickory shell , and an "oud" aroma with a deep chocolate hue . There is also a hint of a barnyard/goat cheese hint that nibbles at the skirt of the oud like a puppy. If you are familiar with some popular niche brands of oud perfumes of late, then this scent combination is no stranger to you. But, Zarokian didn't go down that familiar route: oud is just a feint, the smoke is the real deal here. The initial smell of smoke is very aggressive, but "pure". If it has color, then it's a neutral charcoal gray, undoubtedly smoky, but paradoxically "clean" : it is said that the some of the modern coal-burning power plants are so advanced, that the final emission it give off looks so "clean" like a cotton-white cloud, perhaps it'll smell like this? Then the "dirty" smoke with darker shades followed: first an oily "barbecue" charcoal smoke, with a little "smoked bacon" hint; then the barbecue expanded into a campfire, with some kind of sharp, dry, smoky woody scent crackling with fire sparkles, almost bringing tears to my eyes; a faint rubbery smell of "burning tires" (I probably imagined this up) wafted in the distance, as well as a gunmetal/weedy stench sneaking out from underneath —— the situation is spiraling out of control. At this point, there was no other way out but to let the fire burn itself out. Finally, the flame dies down, the smoke is gone, and at the bottom is the somewhat dull, muddy, animalistic scent of castoreum.

A very pleasant, rounded, and straightforward blend of woods and leather. It's quite burnished and possesses a rugged, self-assured sort of grace. Despite the listed castoreum and oud notes, Silver Oud is not rough or overbearingly animalic. This is a fragrance with a strong presence without being forceful. There are no surprises; the note pyramid is what you get and possibly less than one might expect. However, there is a rubber-like effect that emerges from between the leather and the woods, which is quite enjoyable and lends a slight greasing between the notes that assists in their even-keeled harmonization. While this tempered harmony is executed well, it is a touch too neat to be especially interesting. It is definitely a fine scent, but I have smelt it before. The ad copy, however, is amusing, as the scent is supposedly meant to evoke Stendhal's novel The Red and the Black. That's where the fun can be had in explaining why this fragrance is so restrained and well-mannered. Through that lens, perhaps the notes become almost unctuous in their desire to ingratiate themselves to the wearer, like a 19th-century social climber trying to break free from anonymity. Or perhaps the castoreum and oud burn for release beneath a veneer of respectability, gripping the bars of a dead-end career and frustrated ambition. By that token, Silver Oud is certainly a fitting olfactory homage to one of the more cynical literary texts from the Romantic era. There's nothing effusive, sublime, or beautiful about Silver Oud; this scent is all business at a steady simmer: dark woods, leather, and a burning oil lamp with nothing particularly bright about it. No sparkling, effete top notes or delicate little baubles here. If you squint your ears, you might actually hear riding boots pacing the boards as you decide whether to revenge yourself upon a faithless lover. Perhaps there's even a 'smoking pistol' accord lurking behind the leather. This really is an enjoyable perfume; it's just missing a particular kick or extra facet to distinguish it. I imagine that some indolic white florals would have lent it a saucy bit of dimension. But ultimately, I suppose that being muted, yet resonant, was the intended effect of Silver Oud. It's a classic black overcoat without frills, and sometimes that stalwart utility is all that one needs, sans gnashing and wailing. Presumably, wearers should bring their own angst to colour the wearing of this fragrance rather than the other way around.

Dark senses, a strong presence, an invite to the unexplored and the mysterious; Silver Oud is a mighty, metallic scaled mythical beast that lurks in the shadows; but when its gaze meet your eyes.. you feel a strange kind of familiarity. A well hidden kindness, a desire to be understood. Silver Oud breaks bonds with a traditional buildup; assam oud, castoreum, birch and other precious woods give it depth and its beast-like demeanor; loud, powerful, dark and full of danger. Just as a hydra emerges from its cave, when you face Silver Oud, you feel a grand entity approaching - the fragrance is built that from the first moment you get to experience the dark qualities of the precious heart and base - and you must be well equipped to face the shadows. Dozens of deep emerald eyes light up before you and as much fear you build up, the beauty is just as present and it is beyond measure. Patchouli, cypriol, vanilla help in creating a slightly green and medicinal, smooth, softly sweet and comforting atmosphere - Silver Oud shows its kinder face, a well blended sweetness that reveals itself in its drydown; a soft animalic undertone that is present throughout; the sweetness of vanilla and the mighty oud carve out a unique experience - the unknown envelops you and you enjoy every second of it. No citrus notes, no spices galore and no florals are here to support; a well-crafted experience without the softer side of olfaction; yet the end is balanced and comforting and possesses an eery familiarity. Flickers of light in a dark space, beauty in the unrevealed. Silver Oud will not make you feel defeated; it makes you feel empowered - it equips you to face what have not yet come to pass - with the might of a beast and the affection you find within the unknown.

I just received my 100ml bottle — even though it’s now a Library Collection release (#13), it’s not in a traditional Library Collection bottle, instead it’s in a traditional Amouage Man bottle, which I love, but it has the library collection number AND the fragrance name on the front of the bottle, which I find a bit mass-market dumbed-down and gets rid of the traditional Amouage mystique, but it’s works fine in the case of Silver Oud, as well as the recent additional brand-conversion of Rose Incense... however in the case of Library Collection #7, (my first love from Amouge), I find it absolutely stupid, because the name they came up with is just stupid (in humble opinion), “Reckless Leather” is why I will not be buying THAT one... but, anyway... back to this one... People say Silver Oud reminds them of Interlude, but I haven’t smelled the reformulated version, I’ve only smelled the original formulation (by second love from Amouage), however, I can definitely say that Silver Oud reminds me (a bit too much for comfort to be honest) of Interlude Black Iris (which I absolutely abhor and detest) — the notes in common (at least from what’s disclosed) are Amber, Vanilla, Agarwood, Patchouli, and Cedar; thankfully it’s not something that isn’t easily overcome... but every once in awhile I will get a too resemblant whiff of Interlude Black Iris, so I’ll just have to train myself to ignore it... Because everything else about Silver Oud is incredible... It’s much brighter than many people describe, and the smoky woods take awhile to develop, but this is exactly the exorbitance & opulence I wanted — although I do wish it were a whole lot more animalic.

My bottle arrived today. This ones a bit of a chameleon. I wore it this morning and this afternoon after a shower and my impressions are different. I hate comparing scents to others as I’m sure that’s not what the perfumer intended but it’s a good way to get a handle on the type of perfume we have here. It opens with a strong resinous patchouli akin to monsieur by FM but with a slightly more petroleum vibe Moving to a inoffensive oud with very well rounded vanilla (like the one used in Material) - the notes together come across akin to chimera by tiziana terenzi or aoud vanille by mancera (but 100 times better quality). This morning when I first applied it all I could smell was the oud and vanille - and i thought maybe it would grow on me as it didn’t seem that different than others in this well worn genre. However my second run was all about the patchouli. Rich and deep with oud and vanilla as a backbone but not overpowering. This is much better and seems to be a very well balanced scent. Looking forward to wearing again and see what it brings. 2nd impression: first stage of the scent giving oud wood intense vibes but more rounded. Smells like a hells Angel biker going on a dinner date. Nice 3rd impression: it’s won me over completely. Rugged yet handsome, strong with smooth edges. A great release.

What perfume is this ... a thunderous opening with an abundant dose of the iconic 'Indian Oud from the 'Assam region with a woody/incense/animalic/barn aspect flanked by patchouli and I already feel it blending with a delicious smoked vanilla providing a soft facet and immediately reminding me of the typical ambery accord of Amouage. A wonderful animalistic castoreum of superior quality with a leather smoky by birch and smoked noble woods and more smoke [I love all this very much] come together making everything turn into a smoky whirlwind a festival of incense: 'oud, louban(frankincense), resins, amber etc... It is an animalic perfume but not to the extreme or in the old school style. For me one of the best Amouage I have ever felt if not the best ... For perfume lovers where 'Organic Real Oud is the protagonist it will be a treat, for those who prefer perfume with just a hint of 'Oud as a supporting character it will not happen. The best combination of the eccentric 'Oud & Vanilla' duet you'll find. Arabesque Perfume, Dark, Dense, Smoky, Incense, Resinous, Leather, Woody, Vanilla and Amber. Nothing aggressive here. A legitimate Arab Mukhallath! With great performance! A Masterpiece by Cécile Zarokian. A ROOT AM🤎UAGE !

I'm a big fan oud oils/ oud based perfumes. I will do detailed review later, but 1st I want to give you my 1st impression. The perfume dose not smell like real natural oud to me, the smokiness is not resembling burning oud wood. I can say it has some facets but not what most oud lovers wants or maybe what I really want and I love in oud. Simply, if I get high quality oud perfumes from AJMAL or al Qurashi and silver oud then sprayed them on paper strips without knowing which one is which! for me personally AJMAL / al Qurashi oud will win, period Its really hard for me to say this, because I simply love Cécile Zarokian previous creations like ( Ani Nishane and Tango Masque Milano) but this one, no not what I expected from her. I think Cécile stepped into something totally different in perfumery, oud by its self needs a lot of experience. Cécile has a great experience and success in vanilla and amber perfumes and I admit I'm in love with most of her creations in these two categories. This is just after 2 hours sniffing and thinking and comparing. I need to wear this for a day or two to see how it perform and how it changes during full day wear.

بد ذات .مرموز . متفاوت عود شیرین امبری واکسی . . وقتی این عطرو اسپری کردم برای تست . با خودم گفتم عه . این چقدر عجیبه . تا حالا استارت عطر عودی اینجوری ندیده بودم . شروع عطر حس قویه منتول از پچولی با حالتی مریض و بیمارستانی و بوی شدید وانیل با حس شیرینی مثل خاکستر نشسته روی عود . چند دقیقه بعد اون بوی فرار بیمارستانی و آمپول مانند از بدنه رایحه جدا میشه تا سنسور های بینی بتونه بوی عود رو با وضوح بالاتری درک کنه . جنس عودش بنظرم هندی باشه . خیلی چرک و انیمالیکه مثل بوی آب دهان . خشک و متعفن ولی آکورد کهربا که ی جزئش وانیله + نت نت وانیل بنظرم زیادی پررنگه .حس شیرینی محسوسی داده به عطر . تو قلب عطر بوی عودی انیمالیک و وتیور و کهربا با اوردوز ؤانیل و کور سویی از بوی منتول پچولی کلییات جالبی رو رقم زده . به دماغ و حافظه بویایی من شبیه عطر خاصی نیست ولی کمی منو بیا پرایوت لیبل جووی انداخت البته پرایوت خیلی اینکی و چوبی و عودیه. سیلور عود بوی کیف چرمی تازه دباغی شده میده . بوی چرمی واکسی . خیلی قشنگه این عطر فقط کاش این کهرباش کمتر بود . کیفییت عطر خیلی عالیه پرفورمنس بالا ولی قطعا عطر هرکسی نیست

An enjoyable scent. This is probably the furthest I would go with any animalic. It's neither a stinker, nor unwearable, but instead sits in the same realm of masculine and virile compositions such as Oud Wood Intense and modern-day Antaeus. It strongly reminds me of Tobacco Oud Intense, but stripped away. No tobacco. No raspberry. No labdanum. No mass appealing nuances. Zegna's Musk Gold also shares the same philosophy of clean oud and smoky, leathery undertones fairly balanced with soft animalistic musk. And though, I do relish the scent -- Silver Oud comes off as inexplicable linear, bland, and lifeless. I, for one, enjoy a bit of depth and complexity whenever castoreum is involved, but with Silver Oud, there literally really is not much else going on besides smoke and castoreum which gives the composition the subtle impression of leather.

Oh Cecile, you did such a great job here. One spritz and it melted my olfactory senses. It's oudy, chocolate-ish, a bit rubbery or leathery (?), and very light animalic. It made me smile. It's softer than many other Amouages. Weak sillage on me, and sits close to skin for more than 8 hours. Actually I don't mind the sort of soft performance because it's a great smelling fragrance. Somehow it reminded of TT Ursa or byKilian Straight to Heaven or Jovoy Psychedelique. Maybe because of the chocolate patchouli? But for sure, in my opinion, it has nothing to do with Interlude man. It's Amouage pricey, but I'll make sure to scoop up a deal somewhere, someday. ****Purchased this incredible juice. Two sprays on the neck and 20 hours later I'm still delighted with wafts from it. Great longevity on my skin. I am glad I got it.

First impression thoughts. Immediately I got the reference to Interlude Man, but it's a fractional resemblance. (I love Interlude by the way) Extremely animalic (a little bit unbearably so). Salty and a bit sweaty. I left this one on paper for the day and was waiting for it to turn into a nice smoky scent, but the animalistic notes (must be the Castoreum) was still prevalent. I put two sprays on my wrists this evening, my god is it loud.. I had to wash it off. I'll definitely give this one another try when I'm more in the mood to endure the opening now I know what to expect. For my nose, (so far) this is challenging. I wouldn't say this is blind buy safe. Hopefully the Castoreum dies down quicker on skin.

My 1st impression changed a bit! I think this is an experimental release, its not as bad as I described in my 1st impression. Dose it smell like oud? yes but you have to wait 2-3 hours to smell a nice smoky oud. To be frank, I dont like it for 2 hours after the initial spray but after 2 hours I love it. After 2 hours it smells oudy, ambry and smoky; so good! If you can pass the strong smell for the initial 2 hours then I guarantee its worth the money, also another way you can do spray your cloths 2 hours before you go out it still will be strong and it will project! The performance is beast, easily 8-10 hours. Rating 8.5/10 Not a fan of the initial smell.

I've just got a message from Amouage saying "LAST CHANCE! Is it a marketing trick or message that the fragrance is discontinued? Why to discontinue fragrance issued in 2021? I am puzzled.

This nose for Silver Oud (Cécile Zarokian) was given cart blanche to choose whatever ingredients they wanted. That means the best of all natural, expensive, probably harder to source ingredients. It seems to me that it will be made available in the future. But most likely released in smaller batches due to the exclusivity of ingredients and the niche nature of the product. I doubt they could scale up production for Silver Oud and maintain the quality. Even if there was a market for it, which I doubt.

Silver Oud is a powerful, yet subtle scent that breaks from heritage. It's been compared to the depth of assam oud and rich woods like castoreum for its heavy aroma profile but also offers something new with every breath you take thanks in part by hints birch tar oil which adds just enough sweetness. It will capture your senses before leading them down dark paths where there are only shadows.

This fragrance is for those who know exactly what they want. It is also extremely ORIENTAL and reflects the true Arabian world of Oman. I recommend it to those who are committed to this wonderful and magical world in the sea. It is an extremely strong perfume with fantastic strength and longevity. You are not staying without comments definitely.

Definitely going for this as it is paradigm shift from Rose-Oud themed fragrances! Moreso, this is nosed by one of my fave (female) perfumers Ms. Zarokian! Sadly, this appears to be available only in 50ml! I'd rather wait for its 100ml iteration to come out next year or so...

@Balushi, it actually is a part of their Library Collection, even on their website. The article for this on here explains its connection kinda. I know I was also a bit confused at first.

Love the opening. It's odd and addicting. Would like to buy but don't know how. Went to Osswald but they are not even aware of this release.

This is a part of "‘It’s all about..." collection which includes Rose Incense, not the library collection. Fragrantica please change it.

It probably just means like they said, that they’re out of stock. It even has the option to get notified when they restock.
