Golden Oud

I was able to test out the fragrance from a sample and here is my result: The fragrance is so well blended that I couldn’t pick out any specific notes actually. The only things I could confidentially say is vanilla and oud and some of the patchouli. I find that the harder it is to pick out notes, the better crafted the fragrance IMO. I sprayed my sample at around 7am on a work day. Around 8:30/9 my coworker (who loves designer fragrances) leaned in close to me and asked me what I was wearing “it is really nice. Smells like a high end cream” Around 2:00pm, same coworker texts me and saying she smell me in the corridors of our office as if I “just sprayed the fragrance again.” At this point she was going crazy and asked me what the fragrance was. After leaving working and doing some walking, around 4pm, I could very much still smell it on my skin. I had to put my nose directly to my arm, but it was still very much there. Now, from one day wear, I’ve determined the following: longevity = 8.5/10 (lasted about 9/10 hours) Silage = 8/10 (my coworker could smell me in the hallways! So it seemed like it left a decent trail) Projection = 4.5/10 (Coworker said she couldn’t smell me at arms lengths, but if she leaned in about a foot from my face she could. I thought my projection was much closer actually! About average projection it seems to sit) My one coworker was the only person that commented on the fragrance and I only wore it for one day, so I cannot speak for compliment factor or proper wearing. There is something special about this fragrance and I can’t seem to put my finger on it! It is definitely a well blended fragrance and very unique, and yet still alluring to an average consumer (coworker). I will probably get another tester for more trials but based on first impressions, this seemed to do very well and may warrant a bottle purchase.

It is about 80% similar to the Oud Save the King, gourmandy oud scent. I blind bought it because I got a discount code for their official website from the ScentXplore. I’ve been hunting good oud scent. Once I received it, thought I regretted it after the first spray since I got the OSTK already as they were too similar at the first impression but now I can say it’s not redundant to get both because they’re quite different at the dry down and Golden Oud’s performance is slightly better. The openings of GO and OSTK are almost exactly the same except GO has the bright note (I think it’s the champagne) that is more uplifting. They are both sweet powdery. After about 1-2 hours, they detour in a slightly different direction. The oud in GO is much stronger with some green vibe while I can’t quite detect oud in OSTK yet. Instead, OSTK now has a dominant soft powdery suede accord. When they come to the base, its musky and woody dominant in GO with slight oud and sweetness in the back but the oud in OSTK is detectable now with the powdery suede accord is still going strong. Overall the oud in GO is stronger. Performance wise, they both linger on my skin for very long, about 10-12 hours for both. They both sit very close to my skin, about 1 feet during the whole duration. But, I can keep getting swifts from the GO every once in a while even after the 8 hours mark, which I can’t get from OSTK. Since it’s pandemic now, I can’t be sure about the scent trails because I haven’t seen anyone but based on the swifts I got from GO, I believe it will leave nice scent trails. I think they both are suitable for the whole year round since they are not so beastly. I love both but love GO slightly more.

This is incredible. The opening is unisex leaning fem a touch, with the heliotrope and florals and powdery aspects - with a fizzy champagne accord. Then, the ride begins. Woods pop out, the patchouli is spicy and woody, the waxy lipstick orris comes out in force and mixes with a pleasant deep oud touch. The base in the far drydown is magic. Subtle tobacco hints, gentle woody smoke resin, caramel that isnt goofy candy. This is surprisingly one of the best wearing experiences I have had in a while. 8.75/10 with room to improve. Awesome.

Bro, those who speak negatively on this fragrance don’t know fragrances! ... this is 🔥 one of the best fragrances truly. This smells so intoxicatingly good! It is great, it is phenomenal, it is that good! The longevity is among the best out there, period. The sillage is nuclear for well over 8 hours... when I wear this is pushes off my skin for 12-14 hours very strongly. Do yourselves a favor and get your noses on this one! This is a masterpiece and one I will forever keep in the collection.

#1056 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I really appreciate finding a scent like this without a rose note. Usually it makes the scent a little more masculine to my taste, but I'd still call this a unisex offering. The base notes, musk, myrrh, guaiac, agarwood, vanilla, tobacco, you can find in scents like Amouage "Opus XIV Royal Tobacco" and pretty much every Spirit of Dubai and Nabeel fragrance, but this is way more affordable than Amouage and Spirit of Dubai, and every Nabeel is a cacophony of thirty blurred notes. The top and mid notes here create a very relaxed and inviting fragrance that I think works for any setting and for both men and women. The projection is basically arm's length for a couple of hours, but the skin scent lasts through the day. Completely inoffensive. If you like this, but want something a little more floral you'll probably like Tiziana Tirenzi's "Chimera", and for something a bit more masculine, I'd go for Mancera's "Red Tobacco Intense" which I prefer to this and consider one of the best scents I own.

It opens up with a quick champagne note, then I start to detect some iris like the one in Givenchy Gentleman Reserve Privée. As it dries down you get a nice caramel note is not too sweet. I have to wear it more to pick out the nuances. I wish I was able to describe it better to give it some justice. All I know is, I enjoy wearing it. 😁

Testing blind from the ScentXplore bag, this opened with a citrus element before the oud came in, then morphed more powdery. There overall dry down was relatively mellow, with a soft powdery body, hinted by light floral sweet elements at the top, and unmistakable oudy funkiness underneath. While it's far from being overly weird or too funky, I would get these little wiffs of what came off to me as body odor. I couldn't tell if it was just the fragrance or the fragrance mixing with me, or something around me. I hate to say this, but it is somewhat too forgettable. It's character is a soft oudy floral/powdery vibe that feels unisex, but it just isn't compelling or interesting, or really really good smelling.

Blend is great but i am not happy with the performance. It’s a skin scent after an hour and a half. Not acceptable at this price range....

Makes me think of a middle aged women's afternoon tea party. The cakes are out on the table, the smell mixing with their generic floral perfumes in the air. One of them is a smoker and there's a faint smell of stale tobacco lingering on her jacket. I usually like oriental leaning gourmands, but this is too feminine for my tastes. 4/10

Golden Oud smells beautiful but the name is misleading. The oud is not detectable at all and this is more of a fruity Floral fragrance leaning in feminine territory. Golden Oud is absolutely unisex however and I've worn this many Many times on a night out in cool weather. For the price performance is absolutely unacceptable. If they actually added the OUD here like the name implies and Based out the formulation it would last all day.

This perfume is a must-try! It bears a striking resemblance to Flowerbomb by Viktor & Rolf, with a sweet, flowery patchouli scent and a hint of vanilla. The fragrance predominantly leans towards the gourmand and sweet side. If you're a gourmand perfume lover, you absolutely cannot afford to miss out on this stunning scent.

Undeniably all round pleasant, dense and elegant, not a special for connaisseurs. Looking to activate the Champagne note more, it's a movie.
