La Rose Noire

Unique Rose + Leather combo with fresh, coniferous overtones, touches of spice, a hint of coffee, a brief allusion of dark chocolate. Floral, earthy, sharp, bitter, raw. Leans masculine throughout, and the roses are done in a very luxurious way. Slightly challenging overall, but more versatile than its name suggests. Certainly a thorny, dark rose that softens into an earthy, woody leather. Above average performance, won't need many sprays.

La Rose Noire (blind buy) arrived today. This is so good. The two reviews below aptly describe most of its attributes, but I would like to add how similar this is to Dark by Andrea Maack ...minus the citrus of course! I own and love Dark, and if I didn't know any better, I would say that both fragrances are done by the same perfumer.

Delectable oudy patchouli rose. Bitter, damp-earthy, swampy rose. Leathery, woody, just on the cusp of masculine-leaning yet the woman who rocks this will slaaayyyy. 💃🏻

Cardamom, oud, leather and a lot of rose. Unisex but i would say it's more male cause of the oud. Not a safe blind buy Amazing longevity and sillage 10/10

Imagine a greasy, grimy piece of fabric of a traveling pilgrim that likes rose perfume. That’s how I can describe this perfume the best. Not a safe blind buy.

I bought a 5ml from Amouroud when it first came out based off the notes. I did not like it so I put it away in a drawer. I just pulled it out today about a year later and WOW has it changed. I still don't think I'd wear it but I can objectively say it's a well done scent. Deep dark Rose, very earthy..the Oud is alot more present here than in most Amourouds. It has a very slight funk like damp rotten wood. I was able to get some Cardamom in the beginning that seems to have vanished. There's a boozy Davana that comes out, some Clove But it ultimately dries to a Habit Rouge type leather with deep rose and earthy Vetiver and dry Cedar. Two things that make this a standout fragrance to me: 1. The notes dance. One minute your smelling one thing the next another, and this goes on throughout. Even the drydown it's still happening just a lot less. 2. This smells Devine in the air. Up close it's a bit difficult to take on because it's alot of strong character notes. But blending with the air this leaves a beautiful sillage that will engulf a room and stay for hours. This leans masculine but I think a woman can easily pull this off. This is what I imagine someone like Cruella Deville or someone with a strong mysterious presence would wear. Sample first ,not a safe blind buy at all.

This is a weird scent but I m starting to love it. Raw and raunchy and ever so Gothic, maybe even a bit lustful. It's not a crowd pleaser in any means. The leather and the rotting wood can be off putting to most. But there is something carnal and extremely sexy about it. It doesn't last long on my skin, nothing does but on my clothes, it sticks forever. I find myself sniffing my shirt collar every now and then and wow, just so different and broody and dark. As a female I wouldn't be wearing this out too often as most peoplemight find it offensive, but I could see myself wearing this on a cold winters evening while dressed in black and lace with leather boots. A guy could absolutely pull this off. The presentation is top tier and I'm glad I own this. I think I will be layering this with something containing vanilla and something sweet to smooth out the rough edges. That would take this to the next level.
