Oud After Dark

Plum Delight Having previously owned rare bottles of Oud Tabac and Safran rare, i've tested nearly all fragrances from Amouroud, and surely i can detect a familiar DNA in this scent. It echoes the richness of Oud Tabac and Oud du Jour - both of which are exceptional. However, this fragrance stands oud with the addition of ripe plums, apricot, and a hint of booziness, blending seamlessly with the deep notes of oud, tobacco, incense, and perhaps even a touch of leather accord. The result is captivating, dreamlike fragrance that's an absolute pleasure to wear. There are also faint similarities to Plum Japonais. This is a bold, dark creation with a love for plums at its heart. rating: 9 out of 10

Beautiful, dark, fruity with a dominant Apricot & Plum mixture accord. This is what Serge Luten's Daim Blond and every apricot perfumes want to be, but never as juicy and opulent as Oud After Dark. The fruity part is so rich and dense at the beginning, tart and sweet (but nothing sugary or artificial), then gives way to some floral notes (mainly osmanthus and rose). There's a discernible suede note, giving it a dark, elegant edge. This sticks on my skin for a solid 13 hours, by which time there's still a faint base layer of mild tobacco and woody notes. I don't think there's any oud in this though. This is an all around easy to appreciate kind of scent, long lasting and friendly to all noses.

Just got in today, blind buy successful. This is a beautiful scent. Its that clean "oud" style fragrance with a beautifully done tobacco and apricot note. Not really sure what dude talking about when he said this smell synthetic cause its definitely not. I picked this up for $75 and it smells far more expensive than that. This is my first wear so in a few days ill update on longevity, projection, and a more breakdown of the notes im getting. So far im loving this though

This smells amazing. Up close you get a heavier oud smell which is good, but in the air it is amazing. The fruit (which does not come across like a fruit cocktail or basket) the oud, the rose, the smoke, the tobacco is all really well blended together. Winter, fall, date nights, rainy days just not hot weather. I'm loving this one.

Some of the comments here are ridiculous. This has a beautiful Plum note I find I love. This is a very mature scent profile. Ive had my bottle about 3 years now and it's attention grabbing everytime I wear it. Many positive compliments. Then again I am a collector and wear and buy my fragrances to my liking not other people's. 😆 😎

Wonderful scent. I get some of the same vibes as Initio Side Effect. That nice juicy booze that's coming from the plum and suede combo. You can also pick up on the resinous dark quality of this with the olibanum and oud. It complements the sweetness to bring in some heavier base notes. Very pleased with this one.

This is a really good Oud fragrance, and let's not start with the (it's not real Oud) of course it's not, and you think that your Amouage perfumes use real Agarwood? come on right now due to high demand for natural ingredients, the prices are sky high, ridiculous high, Just enjoy this real sexy and manly perfume.

Love this one. It's a great performer and lasts on me 12+ hours. People around you will like the smell and it gets compliments. It's a really nice Plum and Tobacco for me. You can definitely get the Suede note as well. The Osmanthus on the top reminds me a bit of the opening of Herod. Really nice fragrance.

what an amazing scent! So high quality and intoxicating! I have the travel spray and cannot stop using it. I have many Amourouds and this one will be next for a full bottle.

Very close to Oud du Jour. I have both and if you have to chose one, i would chose this one. Both are excellent btw.

#1391 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I would label this a mild-mannered Westernized oud scent. Pleasant. Not overwhelming. Safe for close spaces. Woody, but not heavy. Lightly fruity and floral. I think this will have more female fans than oud scents typically do, as it's dead center unisex. Not going to be my favorite among the Amouroud scents, 12 of which I've found likeable and worth owning so far, but it's a nice scent you can wear anywhere, year round. That said, I find a scent this versatile can also be forgettable. If you're new to the Amouroud line, especially for the guys, I'd suggest you start with "Oud Tabac", "Santal des Indes" or "Miel Sauvage." This would be more like the tenth of the line I'd try. Worth owning I think, but a very moderate performer, more EDT than EDP. So, if you decide to collect the entire line, I wouldn't make it a priority. As with any scent in the $100 and up range, I try to be smart and get a 1ml decant to check out before buying. This is the only Amouroud I've ordered without trying a decant first because FragranceLine was sold out of samples of this one. If I'd tried a decant I would still have gotten around to getting a full bottle of this, but probably not for a few more months. And I'm mulling over whether to just give this one to a girlfriend as I prefer my oud scents more Middle Eastern leaning.

This is the best from Amouroud house imo. Heavy floral/fruity/tobacco scent suitable for cold weather especially for evenings. It leans slightly to feminine scents. Dominant notes are fruity notes (plum, apricot), florals (osmanthus, rose), leather, tobacco. Overall it feels like a very fruity, mild floral tobacco scent. This is not for hardcore tobacco lovers. The fruity notes are very strong and the florals quite vivid. There's no oud. Performanve is good. Heavy projection for 1-1.5 hours then good moderate. It's a long lasting scent. A few moments before it dies it looks like a nice and pleasant Armaf Shades Wood flanker.

Pleasantly fruity with a subtle clean menthol accord sticking its head through at the opening. It adopts an *almost* chocolatey drydown with its leathery plum. No oud in sight for me. I’ve been trying a lot of these chocolatey plummy leathery fragrances lately ( i.e. Orchid Leather) and this one appeals to me because its scales are tipped a little more towards the fresh end. Honestly if someone asked for a reference plum fragrance this would make the shortlist. If someone asked for a dark oud it wouldn’t even enter the conversation. These brands really just name things “oud” because it makes it sound expensive. 7.8/10

Fruity Incense. A sweet plum and apricot fragrance, with a mellow tobacco woodiness. There is a woodiness is incensy and lightly-spicy, on which the fruity notes are drawn. If you like plums, tobacco, &/or incense, you're likely to like this. Neutral weather wear, leans toward mature. Big "Like" for the scent, disappointed by the terribly deceiving name, though.

The words "cloying", "feminine" and "powdery" sum this one up for me. The apricot sounds like it would be unique and delicious, but paired with an overdose of dianthus (a type of carnation), lots of very sweet plum and vanilla, and a healthy dose of rose, tobacco and oud, this is overwhelming. It actually reminds me of the female Poison which women used to spray on in industrial quantities in the 80's. This one will choke out a room and get you hated on by co-workers, especially if you are male. Having said this, if you like heavy, sweet floral fragrances with a leather/oud base, this could work for you, but this is not even remotely a blind buy. I don't deny that the ingredients are likely of high quality, but the combination is nauseating. If you choose to try it, go 1 - 2 sprays maximum the first time out. It projects and lasts like a monster, which in my case is not a positive.

The most synthetic bottle I have ever purchased in my life. I don’t know what the others are sniffing, but I suggest a visit to the nearest ENT specialist. Avoid like there’s no tomorrow.

Worse perfume I had to find was not even worth $20 I don't know how they put it got 66% volume. The company should relook the formulation or better outsource it to some better perfumer.

I don't think i ever disliked a fragrance more then this... It almost make me nausiating and vomit. And just to see...how important is to test a fragrance for yourself and not buy a fragrance based on online reviews, just look at my review and the others below. I did not buy this based on anything, my brother had it and i used his. So...the smell...it has a rubbery feeling to it, something so cloying and awful...it resembles a smell that you can feel in a car's interior, like the plastic from the inside mixed with some car fragrance ...basically a car odor altogheter. I just cant imagine anyone could like this smell ...even for a car odor, this is terrible. It also has a similar smell to the bottom of a women's leather bag, one that was not used in a long time, and has all kind of forgotten stuff in there, like receipts, some old used money, girly product leftovers like makeup, lipstick, etc...you know what i mean. This probably comes from the suede note mixed with other stuff in there. The performance though is way above average. So if you would like the smell, the performance is strong. Leans feminine! Is it so awful, and the fact that this costs more then 120 euros, is loudacris.

Dark, rich with depth and mystery. Personally I wouldn't wear this out however, I will wear around the house. Fragrance is an art and when I want to experience Fragrance art this is the kind of Fragrance I truly enjoy. It is hard to pick the notes though the plum, Suede and tobacco are most definitely there. I really enjoy plum when done right and this is plum done right. For me this is a 9/10 losing a point for versatility. Worth a sniff if you enjoy this dark DNA. Slightly masculine I could imagine a woman with long dark hair rocking this in the cold month but it's very bold, so at your own mercy! Intoxicating! Ever since my Plum Japonais ran out I've absolutely craved wearing it again, although this is not a direct clone nor as good it sure scratches the itch! 🔥

I stated in my first review I wouldn't wear this out, winter is just about to end here in New Zealand so my thoughts have changed. I would and did absolutely wear this out. This stuff is GREAT. Next on my list to try is Safran rare & Oud Tabac which o hope doesn't smell like an old lady like Toacco Vanille. If yoy haven't tried this, just do it but make sure you love Plum and a dark beast. Bravo!

Heinrich_B It's like you smelled a completely different perfume or a bad clone. For me it's very hard to understand the linkage between this beauty and claims like "the worst fragrance that you can find", "cloying", "vomit" etc.

One of my super-favourite scents. It opens with nice creamy fruity-apricot notes. Then it dries down to plum, suede and oud notes. In the base you can recognise tobacco. Scent 9/10 Longevity 8/10 Projection 7/10

It feels like I'm the only person who finds there is a freshness somewhere in this scent? We're in the middle of August and I'm enjoying it in the heat *two sprays max though🤣*. 8/10
