Silk Route

Great scent, but up-close when I have just sprayed it have a weird note, other than that, great. I would say is a gourmand type of perfume. I didn't receive a sample of another perfume in this line with my purchase, as told in a website. Bought this one out of the others 'cause it was one of the best ones that also had great longevity. The others were Sandal Des Indes and Miel Sauvage but the longevity of those didn't convince me at the time. I think I hadn't smell Dark Orchid at that time, otherwise would have purchased that one. Edit 1: Because of the price I don't use it too often, and only one time I actually used it to go out, and I already don't like it as much, is cloying. What a shame, makes me wonder if I just made a mistake choosing this one among the offering or if all the others would lose their appeal as well. Maybe it will come around to my liking, who knows.

I was gifted a sample of Silk Route and what a beauty it is. On my skin its unisex towards male'ish and I have the mix of Benzoin, Cloves, Tonka, Incense & Oakmoss as the strongest notes, no flowery notes at all. Longlived. I dabbed a tiny drop on my hand and I can smell it all day - so on my skin over 10 hours. I guess if I had sprayed it on it will be enough with 1 or maybe 2 sprays - or else it will become thick and heavy in a not-nice-way. I can absolutely see a strong woman wear Silk Route but I personally don't like scents that goes too male'ish.

Juicy departure as sweet as a citrusy lip gloss. Afterwards I have above all a balsamic and honeyed accord of immortelle, tonka, anise and cloves and a recurring cedar pencil to the end. Lavender, clean flowers, ginger and benzoin are spread on a lightweight synthetic leather jacket creating a bittersweet atmosphere. Sticky, bold, more nocturnal and with a pleasant drydown. A little more feminine, almost gourmant with that play-doh and honey-flowery accord. The first half is present, the second, unfortunately is elusive. A little mysterious?... or maybe just delicate enough.

This is a good immortelle/benzoin scent for those who love gourmand fragrancies. Quite linear and edible leaning towards feminine scents. Its all about a sweet bread with extra edible spices. Benzoin is the big boss, like a cake. Definitely not for me but it's the first creation of this house that smells good. Other strong notes are immortelle, mild leather, star anise and tonka beans. Long lasting with moderate sillage/projection.

Sweet liquorice, creamy vanilla ice cream, red berry syrup, a dry santal woodiness and incense. Very cozy fall wear without any sharp edges at all. A f/w dumb reach.
