Smoky Citrus

Okay I’ve had this about two months and wore many times and it’s time for my review. When I first got this and sprayed it I was hit with a very unexpected bandaid sort of scent... wasn’t my favorite off the bat. I honestly didn’t enjoy it much. But I went back and back to it and my nose has matured and I now get the different notes. It’s like a super Smokey lemon that’s been sitting in a smoker for days.. once dried down I do pick up a good amount of leather. Has a sort of sweaty animalic smell to it in background that I really enjoy.. it’s extremely well blended. This fragrance I would say is not blind buy worthy unless you get it one sale. And it’s moreso for seasoned noses to appreciate. It’s not your mass pleasing mall fragrance. Take your time with her and she will be very rewarding. It Would make a great signature scent. The quality of oils is astounding! Next I am going to try Lunar Vetiver. Great niche house. I’m happy with this at a 8.5/10. Very unique and nothing like aventus or anything else I’ve ever smelt. You will smell unique! One thing I would change is I would make the top notes more pronounced and bright. It’s almost too well blended lmao 🤣. Very dark for a citrus scent.

This was a total blind buy and you definitely get what's in the name.💨🍊🍋 I love it! 💛 It's nice to have something different in my collection. It starts off smoke heavy mixed in with the citrus. As you reach the mid and drydown the smokiness dies down a bit and the oakmoss and citrus stays to the end. I had sampled Amouage's new fragrance coming out called Search which has a similar vibe with its citrus/incense combo. It's good but I like this one much better, it has a bit more character. I can see myself wearing this a lot during the warmer months and also now. I am all hyped up about this one, so take my thoughts on this with a grain of salt. There's always a new one around the corner 😂. If you like smoky, then there is a good chance you might like this one. Sample it if you can. 😁

Wow, instantly bought after smell it. It's uncommon freshness: smoky, citrusy and cold in a same time and it stay fresh till the end. Strong longevity. Guess it's my favorite choice for warm weather now

This is very nice...Canadian discounter has this.. imo a very nice spring and summer offering.. not overly smoky but it does have a nice mix to enhance the citrus.

I would change the name to metallic citrus. Into heart and dry down the lemon and metallic notes dominate the whole composition. Excellent performance for this unique freshie.

Fresh and uplifting citrus note all over the year, just don’t overspray to avoid the harsh metallic notes

Strong smoky citrus opening here. Right off the bat. some will fall in love, others will hate it. I fall into the category of... meh. I do like that smoky opening- quite a bit actually. Unfortunately, it dries into a DNA that is a close cousin to Aventus. Sort of to be expected based on the note breakdown. A fun wear for the first hour or so, after that, it’s just O.K. Sold my bottle because I got bored of it. 6 out of 10 for me.

Smells exactly like the label says: smoky citrus. Really interesting and artistic aromatic charred-citrus evocation, it's just not a fragrance that I would reach for. I'm happy to pan the sample, but won't buy this again. Projection and sillage are high-moderate. Longevity is surprisingly good for a citrus fragrance at 7h+.

This is an eucalyptus forward fragrance. Here, the eucalyptus smells very strongly and become harsher by the mineral note's push. The opening is quite beautiful until that eucalyptus (used to simulate the smoke) comes through. Not for me.

Tried this in search of....something like Search by Amouage. I've tried a few other Amouroud perfumes and they have all been interesting and fairly decent, not afraid to lean into more challenging materials aspects, but sometimes feeling a bit rough around the edges because of it. This is one which, unfotunately, I grew to really hate. I like smokey things a lot but this has a really unusual sweet and salty meat aroma. It ends up like some kind of bbq drippings cut with lemon juice, and given a more chemical leather treatment. This part of it is subtle- it doesn't scream meat or sausage or anything like I can pick up in some guiacwood notes, but it's nonetheless there in some weird form. My mind just interprets it as something really off and unnatural. I'm guessing it could be the lavender fighting with the other elements as I typically have troubles with it sometimes. That medicinal licorice nuance must underpin some of that weirdness. Anyways, not for me, only like Search by way of being a smoky citrus, but lacking any of the charm and thrill. Had to take off my shirt just to get away from it 2 hours in.

EnjOyer below / / / I completely agree! I've always wanted a 'Dark Citrus' perfume. Eau Sauvage 2012 & 2017 are also somewhat great in this regard but 2017 is brighter. Annnnnddddd 2012, well I ran out 😔 This is an unusual type of composition. Usually anything darkish the citrus is gone in a few minutes but this it stays the way through the journey. I've tried Search by Amouage thinking it would be finally what im looking for but it's way to juxtaposed! Im glad I didn't blind buy it like I was about to do.. This however strikes it perfectly down the middle and is a year round perfume for me... go a little lighter in Summer and heavier in winter. It just works, the only thing that I'd knock it on would be the eucalyptus but that's just a personal preference. It is by in no way standing out but detectable, I don't dislike that part just wish something else could've been used however, it definitely makes this unique. Worth a sniff!!

Honestly, besides the inspiration, this and amouage search have nothing in common. Amouage search is a strong, lemon flavoured whiskey mixer. It has the exact profile as that. A little harsh, smokey and sharp. Imagine the cocktail mix, and a lemon as a whole. Smokey citrus, on the other hand... It's more of a rotten lemon. Or perhaps a part of the lemon. Imagine that the pulp which has been separated and drained of fluid, is now rotting on the counter. It's the metalic tinge that ruins it for me. I do like a few fragrances of this house, but this is not it. Any comparisons to amouage are redundant.

Smoky Citrus by Amouroud is definitely one of my all-time favorites. It’s a citrus fragrance like no other—bright and fresh but with this intriguing smoky twist that adds so much character. Projection is moderate, perfect for daily wear without being overpowering, and longevity impresses, lasting well over 7 hours on my skin. It’s easily one of the best citrus scents I’ve ever tried—unique, refreshing, and effortlessly cool.

This is mesmerizingly beautiful. Has almost a zen-like quality to it. Take one of those smooth stones in a zen garden and make it piping hot, throw some oranges and lemons on it to let them release their aromatics and this is what you get...definitely a signature scent Also this is not mature smelling, any age male can rock this easily

I’m a woman and I also like it very much☺️ The most long lasting citrus frag I ever tried. Wonderful, but so pricy in the Netherlands
