Wet Stone

"Happybone" has pretty much said about TF Oud Minerale - what myself & my Fiance would say about this - Wet Stone, Amouroud; & to me Wet Stone is the replacement for that reformulated version of TF OM - & is far better than this much vaunted TF offering (which in First Edition was quite good, althoughI still prefer this overall, & my fiance does too) - TF OM is now a watered down, lesser quality shadow of itself; they can keep it - & the oud in wet stone is more subtle & to me much more in keeping with the perfumealthough it is definitely there - neither of them are particularly about oud, per se, obvs - but more of a Northern Hemisphere shore, but the oud is not missing in WS, at all - just more subtle& skillfully blended (I will say though - if you cannot smell oud in the WS - then your nose was damaged - by all the less subtle oud heavy perfumes that hv hit you in the nose like brick repeatedly) - the oud in WS is pretty good; & is thankfully slightly more subtle than TF; bc I thought it was a little too much in the First Edition version; but does still smell of high quality in WS (although bottles of the Amouroud are avaliable at just under £92- at TK Maxx UK website) & are far more "worth it" than the reformulated TF (probably more so that ANY current/reformulated TF tbh, from what I hv smelled at their counter recently.) The gentle sage in this is rather lovely on a man too - my fiance wore this, the other day & I thought it particularly polished & somewhat stylish on him - but then he usually is, & has excellent taste in perfumes & clothing - it lingered on his shirt, & had "rubbed off" onto the sleeve of his suit jacket; I could smell it when I opened one of the wardrobes yesterday. A winner, I think.. (although the less ppl that wear it the better for him/me(!) My fiance used to wear the original TF Oud Minerale) - but frankly, I tested the reformulated version a couple of weeks ago; & it's a huge no from both of us, 2 x 100ml of Amouroud's WS will be taking it's place, courtesy of the famous discounter (he bought one - & but I went back again, hoping for bargain cashmere sweaters - & hv quietly/sneakily put another in his Christmas stocking - which he will recieve when we open our presents (in Christmas Eve as per our Fine Tradition) - since he's been v good this year. Fresh, luxe & present, although it has a wonderful subtlety about it, which tends to be lacking in the TF offering - no matter how much they dilute it, the blending & notes here are excellent. (Note Nothing about WS is "Designer-esque" or "Not Niche" - & anybody clinging to the TF name in all it's diluted, mass marketed - & espc marketed towards East Asia, not that watering everything down is any good to East Asian ppl either, nobody likes poor quality mediocrity) - & thinking this or another such House cannot equal or better any of it, should give this a week's test - certainly a few others are playing the game far better than the jokers who own TF these days. This is slightly brighter, & has a more "airy" (& far more "expensively blended") quality; it's important to look past the label & even the bottle; & give the liquid in side the respect it deserves. Test it for a week, instead of dismissing it out of han, ppl - honestly; some here would rather buy polyester "with a label on" - than pure silk or cashmere, cut well - that doesn't, & that kind of silliness is not about "luxe" at all(!) (Edit - Yes I completely got on my soapbox about TF & banged on for ages - but come on! None of it's good these days!)

#1053 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this in a decant from FragrancesLine. Note-wise, you could call this a layering of Tom Ford "Oud Mineral" and Atelier des Ors "Riviera Lazuli." I like it, but the combination is not as attractive to me as Riviera Lazuli, as I really enjoy the strong incense note of the Atelier (I really didn't like Oud Minerale all that much, and I especially don't think it's worth the money). This does have a mineral note that I can only describe as the smell of a beach shower, and the overall note combination gives an impression of incense even though there is none in this scent. I like it enough to own it, but the Atelier is only $10 more, so I'd recommend you get decants of each, try before you buy. You may decide owning both would be redundant. This is a masculine, long-lasting scent with good projection for a few hours before becoming a day long skin scent. It's car pool, elevator and small office safe as long as you don't overdo it. I think it's fine for the office or anywhere else. Might be a good signature scent for the executive.

Strange to me there are so many negative reviews.. I guess thats what make the whole fragrance world so interesting.. Anyway, Amouroud fragrances are easily available ad discounts,, I have not paid more then 120 pounds for the 6 that I own, some were under 80 pounds. Thats designer pricing and for me these are far better quality and much more interesting. Wet stone is pretty much as everyone describes it, a fresh, kind of aquatic mineral fragrance,, so is it super unique? Probably not. Is it good, absolutely yes, its very hard to dislike it. People have compared it to Creed Erolfa,, I can see that but I prefer Amouroud,,, even if I didn't the creed is over double the price of what you can realistically buy Amouroud Wet Stone for. I personally think Creeds are nice but way overpriced, for the money they charge you can buy something much more interesting.. Anyway, if you have not tried Wet stone and the descriptions appeal to you I say give it a go,, most will not be disappointed.

One of the most beautifully integrated agarwoods. I generally despise anything that has to do with this note, but in Wet Stone it's absolutely beautiful. The strong spice gives the fragrance a very masculine and daring vibe. There's something in it that reminds me of the wooden supporting beams that they used for railroads, soaked in burnt engine oil. If you ever smelled that, you know exactly what I mean. It's best to wear this at a dinner with a beautiful woman that will end in a wild night to remember. It screams SEX, but the opposite way from how JPG Paradise Garden does it.

I usually wear Oud Minerale in the nighttime or when it rains as it strikes me as a mysterious scent. Its dark, smoky, sharp and peppery. Wet Stone on the other hand, is brighter, cheerful, best suited for the day time. While they don’t necessarily smell the same, there’s something both scents share that’s similar. It’s more than likely the combination of oud, ambergris and salt. This is the smell of salty oceans, wet stones, woods, and sparkling minerals. Love the dry down.

So fresh and uplifting. A bit animalic and have that refreshing smell of a windy sea breeze. This really shines in hot weather. Longevity and projection is rock solid. 9/10

This is summer frag in a bottle. Smells fresh and lux!! Love it. The scent bubble is good. Sillage is good. Scent is awesome. Not a designer type DNA! Love it!

to my nose its citrus mint musk and salt. no pungent, but cooling, pleasant and high end designer like , very nice bottle. 8/10

The fragrance name as "wet stone" is one of the most accurate naming, it is very watery and fresh for hot summer days.

It is one of the most fragrant sea fragrances. Although it's not cheap, you get your money's worth.

Wet stone? Damp squib more like. Disclaimer as I sniffed this in the middle of a barbarian rampage through a very upmarket department store - so it was rushed and maybe being cramped by other scents, and perhaps this one needs time and to be centre stage to shine - but on me this just added up to a very, very, very discreet light citrus with the faintest hint of mildly salt water, delectable for up to 90m, and errrrrrr that's it. Was primed to love this as I really go for oddball, damp/nature scents, aquatics when done right and luxe-y, and Amouroud's White Hinoki is one of the most beautiful scents in all creation. But it just evaporated away, taking my enthusiasm and curiosity with it. At RRP it's close to an outrage. I want to try it again- because surely, surely, something so intriguing from such a great house couldn't be such a complete non-event. Could it?? Do NOT blind buy. But do test, because I want to solve this enigma and hear what other noses made of it.

Really wanted to Love this but it's not what I was expecting I was hoping for something similar to Tom Ford's oud mineral but for me this is just way too much of that rotten egg smell that I get with fragrances like aqua di gio, Versace pour homme and dolce Gabbana light blue intense I can't stand these fragrances because of that reason and this one has the same thing going for it I like it I will wear it because I really Don't think it's a bad fragrance also I have been enjoying this house this is a like not a love and not a hate either I can honestly say I don't get a wet stone smell from this one if you want a wet stone smell I suggest you go with Tom Ford oud mineral or Lattafa Wajood ********************* I've changed my mind as of August 14th 2025 I enjoy this it's great for the summer still smells you know a little weird to me but now it's in all the good ways

This is a really well made fragrance. It is definitely unisex, but it does lean more masculine when on myself (a male). As for the wet stone branding, I'm not sure if I'm really getting that. In the best way possible, this scent really smells like sunblock after a quick dip in the water to me. It really smells like sunblock a lot, with maybe a little darker twist. It is really good though. If i imagine maybe a sea cave, with crashing waves and stone rocks, this fragrance will take me there. However while unprompted, I'm really just getting a slightly darker, really high quality sunblock lotion. This is definitely a good beach scent i would say, and works really well in the summer. The projection is crazy good and it lingers for a while wherever you spray it so be careful. The longevity is amazing as well. Overall, it's gonna be one of my new go to summer scents.

Amazing bottle. Amazing atomizer. Quality juice. To me this opens up with a burst of ambergris and some lemon. Soon it dries down into a fresh spicy mineral essence that's quite pleasant, however, I feel it draws out a "warm" note which somehow actually compliments the hot days. More masculine and would only recommend wearing in the summer. It's very bold and tends not to be a crowd pleaser. I wear this is when I'm out along the shore, or anywhere that's in nature really. I've been told it smells like sun tan lotion, which I can see the correlation, but it's too good to smell like sun tan lotion. Sample. Do not blind buy. If I may be so bold, it smells like a darker, spicier Pacific Rock Moss. Great sillage and longevity. I have a 95% full 100mL bottle if anyone's interested

Wet Stone by Amouroud (Perfumers Workshop) is a fragrance representing the true essence of the word "niche." Depending on the context in which the word is used, it can have several meanings. Wet Stone captures all of these meanings perfectly. The fragrance starts with a potent blend of mineral notes and ginger, followed by ambergris and lemon. As the fragrance settles on the skin, you'll notice a salty lemon juice scent that creates an airy texture. The mineral notes are still detectable in the heart of the scent profile, with a metallic leaning. In the final stages of the dry down, blonde woods and an accompanying accord sweeten the composition. Overall, this is a very unique and daring perfume that stands out from the crowd.

Bergamot on a hot pebble beach. Smells better in the air where I can pick up the aromatics more, which are mainly citrus and ginger. Up close it is more sharp salty and fresh. Smelled great in the room I sprayed it, but on skin almost molecular in its simplicity. Good dose of salty ambroxan, maybe some javanol. The top notes burn off quickly leaving only the salty fresh that sticks for a long time. Lasts forever on clothes with a slight soapy like dry down. I agree with a reviewer who said this seems like a niche spin on a designer aquatic freshie. More interesting but not pushing it too far. Will be a nice long lasting option in summer.

Wet Stone feels cold, metallic, salty and almost dark in the best possible way. The marine and mineral notes are incredibly realistic to me, it smells like wet rocks and concrete breakwaters by the sea, soaked by the waves and then left to heat under the sun. It’s not a “pretty” aquatic fragrance, but a very real one, almost like smelling the coast itself. On my skin, the longevity is very good, around 5–6 hours, with an exceptional scent trail for the first 3–4 hours. I also managed to find it for under €100, which, for something this unique, feels like a great deal.

I have to agree with Houdini4. While I enjoy the sum of the scents making it aquatic, I do not see myself paying for a full bottle. Instead, I would more likely get Seafoam from Art de Parfum or Pacific Rock Moss. Wet Stone just doesn’t have the uniqueness for the cost. It does have quality in it’s longevity and sillage. I feel that I would be more inclined to try a niche fragrance that is not as expensive.

This is a really delightful evocation of wet stones. It's an aromatic herb opening that dries to a mineral citrus. It's like taking a big breath of air when you get out of the car at a secluded, forested rocky beach. Unisex, leaning masculine and multi-seasonal, this would be an intriguing fragrance for an evening event.

They gave this fragrance the perfect name! Wet stone is exactly what it smells like, in a good way! Salty & aquatic. Picture standing by the sea and waves crashing into rock/stones creating a mist in the air. That mist is exactly what this smells like. Beautifully done! Great spring and summer fragrance
