WD/18

This is my new signature perfume. It smells exactly like Book by Commodity when you first spray it. But after it dries down, it becomes a sweater scent (not gourmand at all, I hate food-smelling fragrances). This scent also smells very skin-like. It smells rich ($$$). It's exactly for I've been wanting for a signature scent, but skin-scents like Le Labo 13 and Not a Perfume were too sweaty-smelling for me. I needed something more refined, something that smelled like skin but still had a perfumey scent without being totally fake. It's a bit fruity and sweet without it being obvious. It's woody without it being too masculine. It's musky without it smelling too much like BO. It's PERFECT AND I LOVE IT SO MUCH. How I found this Scent: Over the past few years I have been liking Sandalwood more and more. Started falling in love with it when I smelled Clean Reserve Sel Santal. Love the woody but fruity scent. However, the smell wouldn't last more than a few minutes. Then I found Book by Commodity. Very similar to Sel Santal but a little less fruity. I bought the Personal tester and loved it but it had bad silage/longevity again. I had that tester tube for months and then tried the Expressive version, which had better projection. I was about to buy the Expressive version of Book when I took a trip to Maine and ended up at this upscale leather goods store that had a lot of cute Knick-knacks. While my partner was choosing a wallet to buy, I was absent mindedly waiting for her and happened to spray WD 2018 on my wrist. I liked it a lot because it smelled exactly like Book by Commodity when I first sprayed. I didn't buy it because I had already made up my mind to buy Book expressive, and I didn't know this perfume house with a weird name. We left the store and went on with our day, which happened to be the last day in Maine. Let me tell you when this perfume dried down, I became OBSESSED. I could NOT stop smelling my wrist. I showered and it was still there. Unfortunately we had to leave and I did not have time to go back to the store. I couldn't remember the name, all I could remember was reading the perfume description and it said something about Sandalwood and Staten Island. So I messaged the leather goods store on IG and a few days later they responded and sold me the perfume. I got it in the mail and I am over the moon. It is such a unique signature scent. It's not outrageously priced. I hope they never stop making it!!!!

I love pear notes, and didn't think I'd ever like sandalwood until I smelled this one. Most of the AN Other discovery set was a swing and a miss for me- some I immediately disliked, others I put aside in hopes of being able to appreciate someday. WD/18 starts out with a sparkly pear note that I love and settles into a really pleasant soft woody scent. I haven't got an advanced enough sniffer to tell you why, but what I liked about the drydown especially was how it lacked the "old wood in a museum exhibit" scent that I get from most of the sandalwood-heavy fragrances I've tried so far (Santal 33 included here, though I can see the similarities!). A few sprays last me the whole workday.

This perfume gets me compliments every time I wear it. When I first sampled it in the store, I picked up mostly on the (synthetic) sandalwood mixed with the cardamom, and I wasn't sure I liked it. But I couldn't keep smelling my arm on my way back home. Now I pick up on the pear in the opening notes. I'm not usually into fruity perfumes, but it's far from childish. It's woody and spicy, but very refined and a little powdery, the sandalwood comes on much stronger than the cedar. It's unisex, but to me it leans slightly feminine, perhaps because it's quite bright. It does smell rich, and luxurious, as others have said. I wear it all year round. It's a signature scent.

My girlfriend purchased this recently and it drives me a little crazy. I get serious rum and coke vibes at the top, I'm talking Jamaican spiced with a dry almost saccharine note that I'm assuming is from the Pear and Cardamom combination. This eventually dries to a delicious creamy sandalwood that is immensely enjoyable. I get the Santal 33 comparisons, but this is ultimately its own beast and should be judged as such. Projection is awesome, long lasting not overly pricey. Wholly unisex and good for all occasions. A fantastic new offering from the house.

Gorg scent! One of my absolute favourites, every time I smell it it truly excites me! It is very similar to Santal 33 on dry down but it's top notes are very different, more sweeter due to the pear and omits the slight pickle scent that comes with santal. Although the similarities, i think its a gorgeous perfume that stands on its own and brings enough differences to not be considered an outright dupe. In my opinion a better choice between the two, however slightly less long lasting but considering the price difference I say it's very worth it.

One of my all-time favourites! Smells very unique and expensive. Reminds me of a morning hike in the country. Wearable in any season. Disclaimer: some of the notes smell a little barnyardy on me depending on the beholder. That particular note was described to me like a sheep who has picked up a lot of vegetable matter in its wool after running around outside. Personally I really like it despite this!

I get compliments with this one. The pear-Santal-cedar is a beautiful swirl. Great longevity, good silage. Feel comfortable wearing to work. It has that pear sweet note that satisfies a sophisticated stone fruit deliciousness but it’s core is all creamy sandalwood and spiked cedar. It’s blended so nicely though it hits as an overall effect. Fantastic on my skin.

I absolutely love this. I’ve recently run out so interested if anyone has a bottle for sale at a fair price, as the prices have shot up. This is a pear and sandalwood bomb and dries down beautifully. Love love love

The overall impression is very light. Sandalwood and amyris ground the composition with a modern, light and airy stage. Pear and amyris pair well, while cardamom and sandalwood with green overtones counterbalance. Green piny notes are set far in the back while violet steps into foreground after 45min. 2h later WD/18 starts to dry down and deepens in character. Sandalwood and lightly sweet pear with rather muted florals are the main actors. It‘s pretty much a skin scent by now with soapy creamy fresh sandalwood. WD/18 relies on australian sandalwood (sandalwood isn't typically my thing) which to me is tad more office appropriate or social if you will of a scent because of it‘s calmer soft, creamy, lightly greenish, less punchy nature compared to other woods. You might consider this as a signature scent for these qualities. I can appreciate a scent becoming a second skin with light projection that stays close to me and lightly hums along during my day on meetings, lunches and other professional occasions. Comparisons to Santal are boring and straight up misleading and I can't really make out how these comparisons can be justified. This has it's own scent profile and a beautiful intricate main ingeredient, let alone the responsibly sourced materials and it's great value. It's worth to check out

Just got mine today and my first impressions are that the sandalwood and cardamom are strong. The pear gives it some fruitiness but doesn’t last too long. It’s smells great upon the initial spray but the sandalwood gives it a dry, danky smell that I don’t enjoy too much. In the air it actually smells nice. It reminds me of a cross between Narciso Rodriguez blue noir & GPHII. This is a very clean, warm, relaxing scent. WD/18 can be worn anytime day/night. My brother actually complimented this as soon as he smelled it on me which almost never happens. (He likes freshies, I like warm spicy fragrances). So far so good. A like not a love but I will give it some more wears to see how it performs and if others like it. But I think I’ll be keeping this one anyway. It’s a nice one. Thumbs up!

Heavily woody fragrance with the nice blend between cedar wood and santal. It does share similarity with santal 33, but this one is darker in tone. The santal is creamier, and to an extend, lighter. The difference is very minimal and i think i might even prefer this one over santal, especially given its price tag. Pretty decent longevity surpassing 6 hours but sillage is a bit lacking (note that im testing from a sample vial). FB worthy for me.

This is pretty much a straight up sandalwood scent. I get a little bit of spicy cardamom in the opening, but it goes away pretty quickly. Can’t really detect any of the other notes. I will say that the longevity is excellent - this lasts all day. If you’re a sandalwood lover I think it’s a good option, but I was hoping for a little more depth / complexity.

Santal 33 dna without the pickle note. It’s replaced by a pear note instead which makes a good option for those put off by the pickle nuances of Santal 33. Lovely, bright and fairly longlasting fragrance, but pear always turn too sweet on my skin so I guess it’s a matter of skin ph and preference. Otherwise a solid and standout fragrance for that genre.

Softer, more floral version of Santal 33 in my opinion. The opening on WD/18 is less harsh compared to Santal 33, containing more florals (not sure which one, my nose isn't that well trained). The dry-down is pretty similar to Santal 33, very calm sandalwood. Great value!

Imagine a pear flavored Martini drink. This is what WD/18 smells like. Perfect for formal events but can also be worn casually any time anywhere.

I can objectively recognize that WD/18 is a good fragrance, but it's not for me. I am realizing pear notes in perfume are not my favorite. This is a smooth, woody, pear fragrance, dry and sweet. It is a lovely melding of the pear and sandalwood, and I smell a lot of earthy rich orris - it's not that powdery, it's more deep and warm. On my skin, I just don't prefer the overabundance of sweet pear that makes the bergamot and sandalwood feel sour by comparison. I would have preferred more sandalwood than pear. I like this fragrance on things, however - the residue in my makeup bag, the drydown on my pajamas, were all a nice surprise. It wears a long time on everything it touches. If you love pear: this is for you.

Such an odd perfume, in my opinion. My very first impression was "OH! Yes! Mint and basil, mmmmm!" The next time I tested it, I quickly had a headache and wanted to throw up. It goes on like this; it's like Russian roulette whether or not I like it when I spray it on me. I still get mint and basil, but also pear and tobacco. It reminds me of Christmas and trips to the forest, but it also seems perfectly office appropriate. So I'm not sure what I think. But you need to try it.

as a pear loving bitch, i try to smell EVERY perfume with a pear note in it. as a cardamom hating bitch, i was scared. someone on reddit suggested i try this perfume in search of my signature fall fragrance so i went full force with a travel size bottle. oh my god do i regret doing that. the only thing i smell is a cardamom plant mixed with the redwood national park. i even layered it with Pear Inc to attempt to pull forward the pear note, but it was nonexistent for me. if you wanna smell like a pine tree that's been doused in cardamom, then go for it. i will say the longevity is amazing tho, my cardigan still smelled like this even after washing. would recommend to a man or someone masculine presenting who wants to smell like they've rolled around in pine needles.

At first this was gorgeous Powdery, woody, alluring, I couldn't stop sniffing As it dried down this weird note appeared Smells like steamed corn and banana, I seriously can't even describe how strange it smelt but it overtook the whole fragrance and was very off-putting :(

So disappointed, smells not like Santal 33 AT ALL imo. I must admit that I just smelled Santal 33 on a colleague, so maybe his body chemistry did the trick :). For me this is just a lot of wood and no pear to be detected...

I ordered a sample of this and I tried it. I absolutely hated it! It smells soooo odd... I didn’t like it at all. But then I gave it to my boyfriend who is just starting his fragrance adventure. And out of all the fragrances he has tried (montale, mancera, Daniel josier and even dior) this is the one he loves the most! For him it was a love at first sniff. Also, I think it smells reaaallly good on him as well! So I have just bought him a 50ml bottle ♥️

I’m coming back here to say a friend bought me the M&S Warmth Spray. As someone who’s been through a bottle of LL Santal 33 and has a partner who has been wearing WD/18 for 2 years We stumbled across it in a café. At that time I thought it was a dupe for LL Santal 33. Light fruity sandalwood. Very nice, not overpowering which can be a great thing. No distinct pear though (or cardamom) for anyone looking for that realistic kick out of these notes. It's more a non distinct fruity softly subtly spicy sandalwood, sweeter and airier than santal 33 and imo less chemical. A little on the underwhelming side (I love a good beast) but still nice.

I get Ginger Ale or Pear Komboucha. Nice longevity, just not for me and doesn't smell like the notes breakdown for me. Santal 33 ....but way lighter...and add fruity vibes. Tested from sample vial. This smells awesome. The projection is there...but cloudy...not full-on. Like one other reviewer stated...wait for the drydown... I think it is a good spring/summer scent...maybe daytime casual in fall. I want a FB !!!!

most sandalwoods smell like a pickle jar on me but this is different. it’s true australian sandalwood — a nice smooth woody fragrance

Strong cardamom smell, I compared blind this with Le labo and they are nothing alike. This is harsh and spicy. Definitely masculine.
