WF/2020

You'll start your day with a warm dominant Saffron-Ambrette opening paired with rose and patchouli on a woody musky fresh background. Rose and Patch will be the main players troughout the scent's lifetime. After 1h you'll sense some fruity notes with a leathery impression coming up. You'll find warm and musky aspects in the mids. On the dry down the florals will take the back seat (floral notes extend the sense of rose into the later stages) while woods with green aspects (the roses stems if you will) on a soapy musk will take the front stage. On the very first sample WF/2020 was a tad too heavy for me. The Rose-Patch-Double-Punch reminded me too much of the weighty scents i had to endure during english class when I was small. Yet while fall temperatures are setting in, this scent starts to grow on me and it does wear well with a jumper. It actually isn't that heavy old-schoolish Rose to begin with. Selig cut off the flourishes and the punchy effect scents of this category tend to have in favor of a realistic experience. While keeping a modern approach with Notes evocative of saffron, suede, green woody notes and restrained red fruity notes. Is it workplace appropriate? I'm undecided myself. As a guy i feel rose is a bit of an experiment when it comes to the office especially when it tends to have sillage before moving closer to the skin somewhere around the third hour. But in casual settings (read home office) this wears well IMHO. It feels comfy and is a great start in the morning. And when the rain starts to fall and the soil and pavements get wet, WF/2020 comes alive and is a true experience I wouldn't want anybody interested to miss out on.

I got a surprise sample of (I think) this perfume, because it was also written “ultimate patchouli”, so I got a bit confused. I had never heard about this brand before, so I had to spend some time trying to understand the brand concept and scent name. I was not excited about it, but of course I wanted to try it. The opening was amazing!!! Amazing, amazing, amazing! Truly good. I got rich lady vibes, that goes to air conditioned shopping malls, with a personal driver, and sits in fancy restaurants ordering wine by the year: “oh yes, 98 was a great year for wines from this region...”. This scent is extremely elegant, but in a capitalistic decadent way. The smell of money and power. The kind of smell of someone that lives above all struggles of life, and has already made so much money, they just want to enjoy what capitalism can offer at its best. The dry down is softer, and the perfume gets quieter, intellectual and more introspective, as if this rich person doesn’t want to force their presence anymore, but they are firmly there, asserting their position of power in a smart and strategic way. The longer it stays on my skin, the sweeter it gets. But I don’t find this a sweet perfume at all, my skin just tends to make everything smell sweet at some point. I really loved this scent. It’s aspirational and I feel like it gives me strength. It’s not for everyday, but I can use it as an armour. It’s the scent of someone who made it. Someone who doesn’t care about being agreeable and doesn’t need to prove anything to anyone anymore.

Although im a rose fan, i never really like any rose patch combination, until i have tried this one. The rose here is quite sweet but its blended rightly with bergamot before patchouli comes in. Once it settles down you will get some floral notes. All of this happens on a soft creamy base which i guess is from musk and suede. Unisex but leans toward feminine side. Immediate love and at the price point this one comes in, its definitely gonna be a FB purchase for me.

I love this, it's like a calmer, quiet version of Elle by YSL and Very Irresistable EDP. Low sillage, moderate strength. But it doesn't need to announce its presence. It's too elegant for that. It waits for you to notice.

Such a pretty sweet scent. Its more of a sweet floral. The saffron and suede i think add that sweetness and creaminess to the rose & peony with the musk that gives it a clean & fresh aspect. Very beautiful.

The strength of this really surprised me. It's a smack you in the face strong rose fragrance. I like it, I have to be careful applying it, though - it can sometimes trigger my allergies when I first spray. Musky sweet, medicinal saffron note that isn't too sharp, and rose. I understand where reviewers below are saying it's synthetic, but I don't find it to be a bad thing. It smells like a futuristic rose, a molecule imagining of a rose, but with more punch than most other molecule perfumes. Elegant, simplistic, stripped down, antiseptic in a cool way. Rose for the lady scientist in an icy evening gown on a spaceship. Rose under a glass dome, being studied and reengineered. I find it unique, actually - it's fun!

On my skin, at the top I get intertwined rose and bergamot which makes it quite fresh and a bit tart. The rose is more liquid than jam, like a fresh squeezed rose juice. Then the leather really starts to come out. The leather is blended quite well with with the other notes, popping it's head up above the other notes. I think this is my favorite part of this fragrance. The leather then settles down and all of the notes just sort of blend into each other. Sillage and longevity are both moderate. This is unlike anything I have in my collection.

This scent is beautiful It transforms as you wear it much like the rest of the range This is very much like intense cafe and all the other arab rose scents except this is a bit more tame and smooth The rose isn't sour or watery, it blends well with the woods and slightly rubbery leather note. Not overly sweet either, I think this is a very classy scent that could be worn in any setting.

Pretty classic rose/patchouli/leather fragrance, with a hint of middle eastern spiciness from the saffron. More suited to nighttime and cold weather. Well executed if not terribly original. But poor longevity! I only get about 2 hours (max) with this one.

Reviewer below mentioned that this smells like a bowling alley, for me the top notes are my dentist's office, and not in a bad way, but I cannot escape it. It is a nice smell and all, but for this reason completely unwearable for me.

A woody/musky fragrance with some suede leather notes in it... sounded like heaven to me! I love subtle perfumes that smell like your-skin-but-better with a subtle weirdness or rock twist to it. As a reference: my type of perfumes include Commodity Paper and Book, JHAG Not a perfume and Anyway, Zadig & Voltaire Tome 2 & 3 and Just Rock! Most of the notes here, as well as the overall concept of A.N.Other, really sounds like made for me. Unfortunately the Cotton candy spoiled it. After trying some different perfumes with sweet notes I have now learned that sweet lactonic and caramel-like notes are a no-go for me and so is the cotton candy in this creation. If I would ignore the sweet cotton candy I would love this! Although it’s a pass for me, I rate it 4/5 because I think this is composed beautifully, smells high-end and would work really well for people that do like gourmand sweetness. For me, this is interesting enough to finish my 2 my vial but the cotton candy makes it a no buy for me.

Unlike the reviewer below, it’s been more than 24 hours and I’m still picking up the scent on my T-shirt. I’m surprised that this is voted saffron forward—often a problem note for me— because I’m mostly picking up synthetic musk, patchouli and rose with a little patchouli. This description might sound like a diss, but I enjoyed W. F. 2020 on my skin There’s something classic and familiar in this brew, I also get a slight sensation of a commercial space not unlike a bowling alley as mentioned by another reviewer. I kept returning to the spot on my arm where I first sprayed, expecting that as it wore down I would tire of it. This didn’t happen. In conclusion, a familiar synthetic scent that is well rounded and pleasing, with a very long wear. For winter or cold weather, slightly masculine leaning.

I will speculate and trust my nose unless someone shows me a chemical analysis of this scent. Where's the sandalwood? I am calling out WF 2020 as a sandalwood scent, actually an overdose of it - namely Bacdanol/Sanjinol/Dartanol, all sharing the same CAS number but with different nuances in smell, perhaps in combination with Javanol (see Molecule 04) and Santaliff. These sandalwood ACs have a light rose character on top of their creamy sandalwood body. This is what I am smelling for the most part in WF 2020. The rose might have been supported by additional fresh pink rose-focused ingredients (I think this is where they threw in Peony and Pomegrante to spark some interest via "notes", but sandalwood is the star for me followed by musk. Patchouli, Suede are nowhere to be found.

nothing special whatsoever, reminiscent of a bath and body works champagne scent with synthetic jammy rose.
