Anat Fritz Classical

Kibbutz where are you....Its one of my fav fragrances ever...Sand after rain...earth..after rain...sand with some herbals after rain...strange but it reminds me rain...the smell of rain in Europe more than in Israel..but still one of my fav....

Patchouli has to be in this perfume...surely? Anat Fritz is a very interesting, lovely Potion which evokes that earthy, moist, but sandy smell (perhaps the sandalwood?), with a strong lavender note which almost goes a touch minty for a second I think. This is classic patchouli heavy perfumery but bound to be divisive because of its bold herbal, earthiness. The problem I have with classical is that it’s not quite bold enough and looses complexity quickly, and didn’t last well either when I tried it initially in 2013, nor does it now when I’m revisiting it. The sample was in a bag marked ‘meh’ along with several others and my opinion hasn’t changed, but I did like it though and the bottle is pretty novel.

Anat Fritz' Classical is a re-work of the original Anat Fritz. The new version focuses more on vetiver and woods as opposed to the dry patch base and rough lavender of its former self. They both share the same earthy quality but this new iteration feels overall more modern and slightly polished. Still pretty darned good, perfectly executed but, maybe, a tad less *original*. Personally I'd stick to the original for something more striking but this one is still good nonetheless. Rating: 7.5/10

In the opening, i get freshly cut lavender, woody cedar(thank god not the stinky moth ball stuff), and glowing vetiver. In the top, Classical is at its most feminine. The middle is earthy and this is supported by shadowy cedar. During this process, the vetiver is suede like when joined with sandalwood. The base....not much to discuss. Everything kinda disappears right as your falling in love with it. Longevity for me was 4hrs.

I received a 1ml sample of Anat Fritz Classical from a generous seller for free.. When I first opened it a gorgeous fresh lavender immediately showed itself to me.. I happen to love lavender but need something else to support it.. Than I started to smell a nice dirty earthy patchouli note blend with the lavender, while woods lay in the background.. I do not see patchouli listed in the notes so I do not know if what I was smelling was patchouli or a combination of cedar, sandalwood, and vetiver giving me that impression.. All I know is that this fragrance smells like lavender and patchouli! I really like it!

This was my daily perfume for years after someone gifted me an FB. It smells remarkably like the air after a summer thunderstorm - slightly ozonic, with a strong hint of dirt. I liked it well enough, but it captivated several very fancy people with highly developed senses of smell.
