I've been spending some time with URARTU and it's time to talk about it. URARTU is a “spicy oriental” fragrance. It offers a little western touch to the mystical spices of the east. It's loyal to its roots, yet modern at the same time. Of course, as with all ANATOLINE, the highest level of ingredient quality has been preferred and you can feel it from the first sniff. It's a niche house quality. Spicy fragrances are one of my special interests. URARTU succeeded in making me addicted to it at this point. A cumin bomb hits you at the first opening. Don't let this put you off, it's not the cumin used in lower quality perfumes, which are mostly body odors or reminiscent of far eastern cuisine. No, it's a photorealistic aroma of spices. It reminds me of the streets of Grand Bazaar in Istanbul. When it starts to dry, the cumin calms down and transitions to the most striking point of the perfume. A creamy sandalwood base of coumarin and Tonka bean, and other woody notes that make a subtle appearance, a light touch of patchouli and amber. From beginning to end, this warm spicy and woody structure never leaves the perfume. None of the heart and base notes overpower each other and they are very balanced. In fact, we can easily call the type of this fragrance “spicy woody oriental”. It is quite successful in its kind, it is a perfume that anyone who smells it will definitely like it. Performance is quite good and has intoxicating scent trail. Unisex but leaning masculine side. Until today, the top in this category in my collection belonged to Amouage Overture Man and Costume National Homme EDP. URARTU succeeds in sharing the top spot for me together with these two. I think those who love this type and are looking for a sophisticated fragrance will definitely like it. 10/10. We have a masterpiece here!
