Bonbon Tree

From this, I get a woody-vanilla/sugary scent which is powdery, warm, sweet, (saw)dusty - sort of paper-like actually. The black currant is there in the opening, providing a hint of something tart and dark-fruity. It's almost-linear (only the black currant seems to disappear), mellow and simple - to me it smells mostly like an all-base-notes fragrance. But despite of that, it's not heavy at all - on the contrary: it feels transparant and airy. This is most likely a fragrance that some members here will find too much of a 'background fragrance', but I enjoy it a lot! I find it comforting and 'quiet' in a good way, and have kept sniffing myself those times I have tested it. Lasting power is average or slightly below average. I plan on getting a bottle soon - also its low price is making that decision easier. Update: After purchasing a bottle and wearing the scent for a few days, it reminds me a bit of Van Cleefs & Arpels Bois d'Iris - but like a distant cousin. Bourbon Tree is lighter, more airy, less sugary, and with a lower longevity and projection (those two traits I find are quite impressive in Bois d'Iris). On most days I find Bois d'Iris too intensely sugary, so Boubon Tree works better for me...

Ok, carrot? Vetiver? Lemon? LEATHER??? I don't know if Fragrantica is hallucinating or if my nose is just broken... But this perfume is pure vanilla, a sugary violet and very soft sandalwood! There is no freshness when it's sprayed. It's just delicious, sugary but not cloyingly smelling bonbons. The black currant might be in there, but only to support the sweet goodness of it all. This is not a "fruity" perfume. Yes, this perfume is sweet, it smells like a fragrant warm sugary vanilla-violet syrup. No creaminess or fruits. Just bonbons and maybe, far away, some freshly baked croissants. This perfume smells less "edgy" than the other And Other Stories perfumes, but nonetheless it's elegant.
