The Lost Chapter

To me really smells like a linear vanillary fig. It's okay.. I think I'd prefer it on someone else as I find it a bit to sweet. Good option for wearing into the office and still reach out for it sometimes.

Even though it’s not listed, the most prominent note I get is coconut. To me it smells like carrot cake with coconut and a hint of cardamom.

This launched in 2022, and I added it to my collection last winter, but for some reason at that time Fragrantica didn't have it in the database. That didn't strike me as odd at the time, because & Other Stories is essentially a more upscale fast fashioned brand (they are owned by H&M I believe) and while they do not release the same volume of new fragrances as Zara, they do come and go a lot faster than a traditional fragrance house. But it strikes me as odd now that it has been added after being discontinued. Well never mind. This is a lovely, light, soft and warm fragrance that is perfect for fall or winter. It's a much more sophisticated scent than one would expect for the price. The warmth and spiciness of it is tempered by the freshness of the black tea and the dry woodiness of the papyrus. The combination of notes is quite unique. It would be perfect for someone who loves iris based fragrances, chai tea, and long hours spent browsing and reading in a library or bookshop. If you love the "light academia" style vibe then this would be a perfect fragrance for you. Hot tip: if you love this fragrance and run out, you an always upgrade to the beautiful Iris Goddess by Floral Street, as he was the nose for both of these fragrances.
