ANDREA MAACK X ENTRANCE

Andrea Maack's website calls Entrance "the best incense you can buy in a spray bottle" and while I doubt that I agree it's the "best" incense, I definitely am surprised not to find it listed in the official notes for this fragrance. It instantly felt like an incense perfume to me as soon as I sprayed it on my wrist and smelled it for the first time. Now, after a few hours have passed, I am starting to hate Andrea Maack for creating such unique and interesting fragrances. Every damn time I go to a store to buy a specific one I liked from her brand I end up wanting the others too! Entrance is magic. Citrusy in the opening but smokey and spicy in the dry down. It's slightly sweet, woody and a little animalic, from my perception. I can smell saffron, geranium and pepper but also something that strangely reminds me of coffee. Beautiful unisex composition, lasts 3+ hours and has a decent projection. If you are in Iceland I don't see a problem wearing this all year around, as the summers here are not too hot. I just bought Craft but now I want the full size of Entrance because it's another cool take on gothic churchy scents which I absolutely adore.

This is a warm, ambery, vetiver scent to my nose. It's not identical to Lune Feline or Bewitching Yasmine, but it's in the same family of fragrances. It reads a little less sophisticated than those two, but it's still a very pleasant late-autumn scent. I primarily smell the vetiver, amber, and vanilla, with some nutmeg and a little cedar. I don't get geranium, saffron, pepper, bergamot, or coriander. It doesn't seem like a "spicy" scent to me, just warm, cozy, and vanilla-sweet. I think this the scent I have liked the most of those I have tried from Andrea Maack so far. I don't think I disliked any of them, but nothing moved me. This is not exactly unique, but it's done well and is quite pleasant. 8/10.

Beautiful every season all day wear. Bright fresh in the opening sending positive vibes...the mid turns woody and a hint of sweetness that is extremely well rounded. The dry down is where the magic happens you still get waves of the freshness but the warmth and sweetness comes through. The longevity on my skin is around 8 to 12 hours and a decent sillage. The balance of this fragrance is what makes it so unique and elegant. Really enjoying this when I want something really fresh seductive and universal for all seasons.

the first time I sprayed this on myself for a dinner/night out, i found myself just smelling my wrists the entire night. I want to drink this bottle. it's warm and spicy but not in a yummy winter blanket way at all- in an alluring, witchy, practical magic, mysterious way. to me it smells like like ordering a citrusy drink from a bar on halloween, you're wearing all black, and a tiny bit of cigarette smoke is floating through the window

This is truly a masterpiece. It opens strong and spicy, almost medicinal, but as it dries down you get this soft, sweet, complex vanilla with hints of leather and spices. I find it addictive and like most of her perfume it is quite strong/beast mode. I think this is more of a fall/winter perfume.

This is the other Andrea Maack sample I have along with Craft. For an everyday/signature scent, I prefer Craft and its church incense vibes, but if I were going to a fancy dinner or event I would opt for Entrance. There is an absolutely delicious, complex, spicy note to this fragrance that I have decided is the saffron, although I'm still new to fragrances so I could be wrong. This is an exotic, seductive, layered fragrance that is difficult to pin down. It is also perfectly unisex. My only thing is I wouldn't want to smell like this all the time. I think it is best reserved for special occasions. However, this perfume did make me realize I love a saffron note, so I'll be looking out for saffron in my fragrance searches from now on.

I tried this one today and I do love it but there was a resemblance to something I already have which I couldnt put my finger on at the time but It came to me and its penhaligons blazing mr sam which if you look at the notes are very similar. I would say that this is a lot lighter and fresher than Mr sam as this one leans more on the feminine side which I like. The dry down is really woody on me and I would probably wear this in autumn/winter but It could also work quite well on a summers day on holiday

The definition of sweet spice, a great job, rich without being overwhelming, complex yet crowd-pleasing, sweet in its resinous aspect and intriguing at the same time, there's an overlap between cedarwood and pink pepper that evokes an unusual note that I find particularly seductive and dirty. Definitely leaning towards masculine, solid and consistent in performance.

Really, really good one. Very reach and changing over time. I can't really feel that warmth and eastern spiciness everyone is talking about, for me it's more on a fresh side with bergamot and pepper in the beginning and burnt wood at the end. Smells magnificent! Thinking of buying one now.

Am I only one who gets so much pink pepper it burns nostrils? 😅 A bit same than with Coven, but in Coven it was not as sharp as in this one. Scent is lovely after some hours, but the first hour... wow. It penetrates walls and enters room before you chokes everyone on it's way. So the name. for the parfum is actually very accurate. Beautiful warm vanilla after 2-3 hours, and then slowly fades away.

This is very masculine!! I picked up on vanilla when I first sprayed it but now it has settled down to a strong, spicy, sliiiightly sweet scent that would be great for a man. It smells like other masculine fragrances Ive smelled in the past. It smells good, just not my vibe as I prefer more feminine/unisex leaning scents.

I didn't get any of the incense that others got. None. Just a citrusy opening and full amber, and the spices were sort of middle of the road. It wasn't even that peppery. Just a big blast of heavy amber, didn't lean either way for gender, felt pretty unisex. Body chemistry is probably dependent on how this reads. Because everyone seems to have their own experience. But if you really like amber fragrances, this is probably for you. Sad this was my first Andrea Maak tester, and I really disliked it.

Smells just like how I want my fresh spicy scents to smell like. It has top note of Bergamot; middle notes of Saffron, Nutmeg, Pink Pepper, Vetiver, Coriander and Geranium; and base notes of Amber, Vanilla, Patchouli and Cedar. The saffron and vanilla tones down the earthy side of this; making it smell wearable all year round. I’m crazy about this ATM and can’t stop sniffing my arm. I don’t know if it’s ‘cos it blends well with the B&BW Fairytale body mist I earlier sprayed on my arm. This smells sooo good - I’m getting more of the saffron and vanilla on my skin - I will make this my sotd on Monday without layering and see how it goes. It packs a punch from the first spray but settles softly to this sweet warm vanilla spicy scent. For now, this is a winner and I’ll encourage all to get their nose on it - whether you’re a man or a female. This reminds me of Penhaligon’s Babylon but I prefer Entrance to Babylon.

This one is odd, because it's not particularly to my taste. It opens in a very peppery way, and then has that spicy, woody amber dry down that leans a little bit masculine. Despite the fact that it's not something I love, I feel like it blends with my personal body chemistry in a really nice way. It absolutely melts into my skin. It makes no sense to me.

Right off the bat, this fragrance smelled darker and spicier than the other Andrea Mack Fragrances I've tried. Initially, I smell a woodiness and incense accord. I probably would only wear this in the winter time as it's pretty heavy. This is not necessarily my cup of tea. but I think I would like to smell it on others.

Objectively this is a pretty decent perfume just not for me. My skin amps the patchouli and the whole vibe I get is leather. A nice leather. I will use my generously sized sample to layer with other fragrances in the fall/winter for sure. Reminds me a little of Falcon Leather with more of an indie vibe to it.

I love this. It's very spicy, with an effervescent, prickling, sparkling quality. It's warm, not in a cozy sense, but sharp and lively, however grounded by an alluring vanilla-amber-woody base. It has a darkly flirtatious, witchy edge.

Assertively masculine-unisex, bold-spicy and middle-eastern in feel. I passed this on to a friend who is enjoying sharing it with her partner.
