Dark

Bright juicy rose! And a dark red rose at that! The aldehydes really help carry the "Rose" and the various citrus notes add to the sparkle and freshness. I don't find it to be metallic at all, so don't be put off by that note being listed. Its a well crafted blend that uplifts the Rose so she shines! Worth trying if your looking for a rosy Rose perfume.

This gem of a scent is a screamingly bright, almost tart rose scent that has a really lifting effect. It's beautifully balanced with cedarwood, but still, if rose could smell fresh and juicy - this is it. The development is pretty much linear; it settles over time but never looses it crispness. Want.

The name must be tongue-in-cheek. Dark makes me think of a very cold, very sunny day - the kind where sunlight on snow is almost blindingly bright. It's icicles and roses and frosty air. What sets it apart is that metallic note, like sunlight on chrome. Metallic notes can call to mind blood, but not here. I really enjoy this scent. For anyone looking for a dark, metalic-bloody rose, I'd suggest Etat Libre d'Orange's Eau de Protection. This is like that scent's effervescent, snow fairy sister.

An icy metallic rose, reminds me very much of Lutens’ LFDB. I wouldn’t label this a dark fragrance, which I imagine would have some gothic or mysterious quality, so the name isn’t really fitting. I have to say I like this modern interpretation of an aloof rose, standoffish yet accessible. Super office friendly, polite and quite low key and although I love assertive fragrances, this is a nice change for quieter days.

At first spray, I could smell mandarin, peach, and a nice fresh rose floral. The light fruity scent remained unobtrusive and complemented the rose well for the first fifteen minutes, and then the entire scent simply turned stale on me, which left me rather dumbfounded. It reminded me of stale water and water that has been immersed by rusted metal, with a tinge of rose and peach still very lightly in the background, which as time goes on, turns artificial. It wasn't until I got home that I realize what this stale scent reminds me of - my dog's ear infection medicine. I really wish the fragrance had stayed the way it did the first fifteen minutes, because the remainder of the time it really was stale. I suspect it might have been the metallic note in the fragrance, which somehow seems to really come through on my skin. It's a shame, because this fragrance really started out with a lot of promise.

this is a very metallic and lemony rose. it's light and airy and crisp, and is almost slightly salty to me. i tend to like deep, rich warm fragrances, and this is pretty much the antithesis of that, but it sounded like an interesting rose from the description at lucky scent...but that description mentioned leather and violet, (though the notes don't say that, the description does!) which drew me in. oh well, not my favorite rose, but interesting to try. nonetheless.

Kinda heavy, kinda old fashioned, feminine, and too much like shampoo. Absolutely not for me.

Confused. Why is this called Dark? It's a fresh opening that's mainly a bright, watery, slightly tinny rose. It's a light aquatic really, with the citrus notes supporting a screechy but very clean rose. Maybe because the opening rose is so unsullied, this has a morning feel (but like a very early morning where you went out early to see the sunrise over the ocean, and some woman is talking really loudly right near you ruining the whole experience). Thankfully the rose gains some depth after its had 5-10 minutes or so to warm up. A this point it's a more realistic rose, in full bloom in someone's small front garden. Maybe there's a cedar compost on the ground underneath but otherwise no other flowers, trees, or herbs around it. Within a half hour this is every synthetic rose scent ever bottled. A little musk comes through, but it has an unwashed effect instead of offering any sensuality. This would have benefited from some patchouli or a stronger, more animalic musk. Even after reading the ingredients, I expected this to have more depth and darkness, particularly after spending some time with Coven. I thought maybe the amber and ceder would add some mystery but really Dark is just a generic rose skin scent.

A bloody rose, not at all a disnomer. It may seem bright at first sniff (I was also confused of it's name at first sniff) , but I can detect the metal turning stronger and stronger as time goes on, and that reminds me of the taste of blood in my throat after a 5-min-dash. This is a genius blend of beauty and danger, which gives the vibe of a a gorgeous vampire lady, or a lolita holding a blood stained dagger...What a f*king fabulous name.

Definitely a misnomer. Should have been named Bright. Yup, that pretty much sums it. Other than the misnomer, definitely a good fragrance. Probably would be best used on a nice spring day! 7.5/10
