Jest

This is a heavy perfume. Jest will take over any intimate setting. Despite its weight and presence it's not screaming for attention. It’s more like when it enters the room everyone looks to see what she is wearing and lesser perfumes realize they are wearing last year's hand me downs. Jest is interesting. It is RUM!!! musk, heliotrope, vanilla, it feels like amber, then just a touch of apple, and cardamom. I get no chocolate, if it is there my nose is totally ignoring it. Honestly the rum is a benevolent tyrant protecting me from the scourge of weaker notes. We must raise a glass to our leader!! This is a sweet gourmand, and needs to be worn responsibly. It is ridiculously strong, especially on the opening. It has an impressive sillage, my friends could smell this perfume from at least 6 feet away outside (wind was blowing towards them). That was at hour 4. I had 1 spray on each arm and 2 sprays on my shirt. I have since learned 1 spray on each arm and 1 spray on my shirt is what works best for me. On skin it lasts 4-6 hours, on clothing (scrubs) I could still smell it very well after 11 hours when I changed. This is a cooler to cold weather perfume. If you wear this above 50F/10C it will overwhelm you. This is definitely a unisex perfume, however it definitely leans feminine. I would say 65% feminine if that matters to you. It is a very well crafted perfume. If you love boozy scents this is one to check out. I have worn it a few times and after each wear, I find myself enjoying this perfume more each time. It will never be daily wear (and shouldn’t), but in the right weather in a coffee shop, it makes me feel like I am king of my little universe.

Second day with this on my bedtime hoodie, not reapplied but leftover from last night. The full drydown is where it's at....this is legitimately *thee* most beautiful fucking chocolate fragrance I've ever had the pleasure to experience- out of the 500++ fragrances I've tried on my journey. Jest is something I HAVE TO have, or I will never stop thinking about it (received as a sample w purchase from Lucky Scent). Something about the way pure cacao + plum rum dries down on pure ambroxan- it's intoxicating especially on fabric. Wow...

I can't get enough of this. Such a stark contrast from the sweet, boozy, fruity opening to the woody, slightly spicy, dark chocolate drydown ☯️. It is neither too sweet nor too cloying, perfectly unisex, and distinctly umami plum/semisweet chocolate. Love this beautiful fragrance. The vanilla frenzy of bianco latte and all of its dupes and cousins *almost* made me give up on gourmands entirely, along with even a suggestion of vanilla. This brought me back.

Beautiful jammy fruit opening with the cardamom doing a hit and run. It turns into rich and boozy chocolate powder. It’s kind of weird because if I put my nose up on it I get that dry erase marker scent but if I just smell the sillage of it, it stays that boozy chocolate powder and eventually turns into creamy vanilla skin. The longer on me the more I fell in love with it.

What a wonderful creation. Rum, apple, plum and soft spicyness. I feel like a caramel cocktail when I wear it. For the rum lovers definitely. Beautiful scent that anyone can wear. I’d recommend it more towards women but it’s deep enough for men to be able to wear it passionately:)

Don’t listen to all the snobs, if you a like dark plum fragrance that last, has depth, and you’ll smell on your skin the next day, give it a shot. Feels like a next step evolution of Sticky Dates from Lush l, if you’re into that, you’ll LOVE this.

Jest is amazing! The boozy rum and plum with chocolate is so unique and well-blended. It's a gorgeous, long-lasting gourmand with a cozy finish. There's no extra sweetness here. I've tried it in temperate weather, and it's still addictive. 8.5/10

Very Julien Rasquinet. Immediately I get the plum and chocolate that is similar in Tabac Rose. This is basically Tabac Rose without the rose but added rum instead. The chocolate is amped up here with a good amount of rum, quite delicious. I don't claim to have an advanced nose, but I think I can tell when a perfumer does a copy-paste-edit. Won't be getting a FB. Also, weird timing for this release, because this is a strictly a winter scent IMO.

The dark humored friend with an enormous heart insists you go out even though you are home feeling sorry for yourself. You end up having a great time and their rarely seen Cheshire smile is the most memorable moment of the night. D.J., you were the best. Anthony from F*** Marry Kill wears this.

This goes crazzzy. Nice, but because I have Arabians tonka it seems redundant. It’s better thank Arabians tonka tho cause it’s smoother. Wow, dry down of this is nice. Dusty chocolate with Montale dna-esq. I haven’t smelled Montale chocolate fragrances but I bet this is like those.

This is a gorgeous cross of Bourbon Brulee, Jazz Club and Flux. Boozy and sweet but with a slight cedar/pine freshness. It's a scent for the deep of night.

Oh dear this really too powerful for me. It’s a very well done scent but it’s so potent that it stings my nose whenever I smell it. The rum and fruits combo is very unique and interesting and I have never smelled anything like this before. The rum and chocolate overpowers the entire composition for the first 1-2 hours and once it settles down the fruits, musk, and heliotrope peek out. It feels like the notes are clashing with one another a bit too much imo, but if you do like the smell this is well worth the price as it has enormous sillage and longevity.

Smells to me like a juicy melon ( I suspect this is coming from the apple and plum mix ) paired with dark chocolate and the rum is kind of in the background and ,thankfully, doesn't have the sharpness of some alcohol notes. Relatively long lasting on skin but I would prefer slightly better sillage for the price. Overall super unique smell, honestly wearable as an everyday scent and definitely unisex.

OK am I the only one who smells DILL?

The opening is tough: Rubbing alcohol, booze alcohol, plums, spicy sweetness, and musk. The vanilla is fighting underneath a pile of other notes and it's a bit too discordant for me. But then the vanilla eventually becomes the most prominent and sticks around. It has a slightly chocolately vibe. Not sure if it was worth all the weirdness up front, though.

Somehow, this scent hits my nose with a bug spray smell. I've tried it multiple times on paper and skin. I actually thought I managed to buy a fake, but i went into a well regarded fragrance store to smell it and it smelled the same. Maybe my nose doesn't process the cardamom note well? Anyway, I wanted to love this, but sadly, I do not.

Powerhouse of a fragrance, resinous masterpiece. I immediately regret not saving my tiny sample for a cooler day but I was excited to try it! This is bold and boozy. Leather, oud and saffron come to mind although none of those are listed as notes. Jest is quite nice for night out. Unisex but leaning masculine.

Opens with a rich, boozy sweetness- but sadly on me, it dries down quickly to a herby, spicy scent that is reminiscent of a sweaty man that needs a shower. The scent lasts forever on the skin and I can smell it even after I've showered and used bodywash. So disappointing. Glad I only bought a sample.

Under bacchanalian plum spells, attendees sleep on the lawn, and float with laze on their backs in the fountain of the garden. Sugary amber peaks out from under the surface. Addictive- makes you want to scrape your fingernail against the bottom of the barrel for every last morsel into your mouth. It's giddy, fun, full of dimming hedonistic pleasure. Smells like the air of wild festivities- but only after a long period of pent up and sheltered mundanity. Seeing fire eaters and sword swallowers for the first time. Something tragic lingers, filling my heart with ennui. Tears prick at my eyes. I know it's the heliotrope, which often triggers a nostalgic response for me. It's comforting but, again, melancholic. We are no longer in the midst of the gaiety and merriment. Jest embodies the aftermath, and silently begging ourselves to remember this night forever. It's dawn, everything is tinted slightly purple. It's the kind of temperature you can't even feel. Is it spring? Summer or fall? Or just a perpetual perfect weather. Party goers, drunk off Stevia sweetened rum, and fermented sugarplums, spin dizzy spells willing the sun not to rise just yet. Lest we are forced to remember our responsibilities. The ravaged chocolate buffet has been reduced to dried shavings, barely there, but you still catch pockets of it in the ridges of your teeth. Your own puffed and frilly costume was perfumed in an apple slice bath under the sun. It's beautiful I cant even wrap my head around it.

Artisan non foaming green apple shampoo. Boozy Korean plum syrup. The chocolate is very faint, almost as if it’s presented as a light lotion, no complaint there, it’s just enough to give it a sweet touch. The dry down is a muted cardamom musk that gives a spicy molecule effect. This is a unisex and potent molecule spicy/sweet type musk that lasts all day. The vibe: Some sweet plum soju with soda at a small private garden in a simple silk moonstone colored dress with no jewelry, just beautiful bare shimmering skin under the stars. Hair is shinning in a lose elegant flowing braid that smells like musk and green apples.

It is a very boozy fragrance, I pick up plum, rum and a lot of vanilla in the dry down. My husband says he can smell chocolate too, I personally can't. The dry down is the closest to pure vanilla extract I have smelled in my life. Sillage is extremely bad even for edp and Jest is supposed to be extrait. I have to apply 15+ sprays for it to have some sillage, but even then it is weak. Such a pity. There is also something unpleasant about the dry down. The first our or two are 8/10, but then it becomes a 3/10.

if you are sensitive to ambroxan- AVOID. I understand that the way Jest wears on me currently may change due to various factors- hormones, weather, etc. - but the fuzzy, ambroxan note present throughout the life of this fragrance and completely overtaking the other notes is so off putting. I would probably enjoy this perfume if this same blend was made without that note. edit: Now I see this is compared to Arabians Tonka, a perfume which literally made me nauseous so it makes sense I don't enjoy Jest.

The plum chocolate boozy drydown is gorgeous and rich. Definitely for the cold and/ or evening. AND I just woke up and can still smell it on my skin from last night. So yeah impressive performance. The plum is in the same vein as the plum in MJ Decadence. The Ambroxan doesn’t bother me ...it’s a little heavy in the opening but quiets down to a fuzziness after about an hour. I don’t find this overly sweet and I enjoy the dusty powder that the heliotrope brings.

Just got my sample and it’s way too warm to try wearing this! It 75 today so I will stash this away for 45-50 degree days. It’s very potent and definitely a cold weather scent... if you don’t love super potent fragrances then stay away from this one. It’s a bit nauseating the first 10 minutes if you have a hard time with potent perfumes. One spray is all I did and wow... a burst of rum and plum! Will do another review later after I give a full wear test.

it opens up deliciously - like dried fruit soaked in rum and covered in chocolate. i was just about to buy it but then the drydown hit. give it 10 minutes and it legit smells like permament marker. while i love to get a sniff of a permament marker every now and then, i wouldn't want it sticking to me for several hours - it would be so headache inducing.

blast of rum soaked plums and apples, with this annoying artificial scent in the back. then it dries down into just plum and chocolate. idkk i feel like the dry down of this perfume heavily exceeds that first spray.. but then the dry down itself performs terribly. i can't see myself buying this

Ambroxan in your face. Not for me I do love cardamom rum & vanilla,plum etc so I thought this would be a fall hit. The ambroxan is amplified on me and it’s too overbearing. I don’t get the other notes sadly.

This fragrance is a lot more mainstream smelling than all of the other Andrea Maack samples I've tried. It is really nice and I love the plum facet. To me, it is very rum forward. It's a beautiful gourmand.

If Andrea made a vanilla perfume, I can tell you its gonna be good. This is so beautiful, elegant, and smooth. Thank you Saint Andrea

Dry down is pleasant. Great for fall/winter. Opening is a bit sickly, super realistic rum, like alcohol. Dries down nicely. Pleasant.

why dont you still have Magma added to the Andrea Maack collection yet?
