Solstice

“Solstice” is the quintessence of summer captured in a bottle, a fragrance that has become my singular obsession for the season. It opens with a burst of watermelon so realistic and juicy, it’s like biting into the ripest fruit on a sun-drenched day. The sea notes waft in like a gentle breeze, carrying the scent of salt and open waters, while the white florals add an elegant touch of natural beauty. The only watermelon fragrance I’ll ever need or have the desire for. I saw an interview with Andrea recently where she discussed her passion for creating fragrances that were long-lasting, a very important piece to her creations. I really resonated with this, as far too often we are spending premium prices for 30 minutes of fun, especially on the fresher, lighter fragrances like Solstice. This breaks boundaries. I spray this on at 8 in the morning and smell it still into the late evenings. This is one of those addictive scents that has people wanting to get closer to you. The imagery: An ice bath in a frozen lake as the sun is melting everything surrounding you. Flowers are blooming and fragrant on the barely snow- capped mountains across the distance, and the sun is warming your hair and face as your body feels the adrenaline rush of the freezing cold water. 10/10

Honestly I shouldn’t enjoy this. I’m not a fan of clean musks and melon/calone can be a death note. But! The watermelon rind and sweet simple florals in this are perfect. It has been a hot; erm the hottest summer...one of the ways I tried to help our backyard chickens through it is by freezing watermelon rind chunks. This really captures the feeling of those chicken-popsicles for me; cool clean chunks of icy watermelon rind immediately melting in the blazing heat. The violet-heavy green skin scent dry down has incredible longevity too. This is not a sugary sweet melon, there’s no pink here. She is cold, fresh and green.

This is a coastal summer in a bottle. Solstice is a fresh watermelon scent, not sickeningly sweet or gourmand. The florals increase the light and fresh aspects of the sea water and watermelon have. I normally like moodier fragrances but there is something so enjoyable about this. I cannot stop doing a drive by sniff since purchasing. My daughter loves it so much that I feel like she will help me go through the bottle in no time. I am quickly going through my sample of this fragrance and plan to get a full size.

my fav from the 6 perfumes I got in my discovery set It's really is aquatic, somehow the perfumer really nailed the texture and freshness of an ideal summer scent the notes are also unusual and play well together. I can get the lily of the valley and weirdly salty sea water, with some fruit, although I couldn't tell it's watermelon before looking at the notes for me it's really feminine leaning though

smells like watermelon bubble bath/cucumber baby wipes with a dash of sunscreen. very fresh/clean, and the dry down/base is very aquatic and soft in the best way. i think this would be an excellent summer/warm weather scent. longevity is really good and sillage is decent. it smells very nostalgic and makes me think of moomin valley lol

If the mermaid wears a perfume, then it's Solstice. It's a very peaceful and dreamy scent, perfect to get lost in the summer. It reminds me of Cow by Zoologist a lot - also fruity-watery calming frag. Can't say it's something very special but I enjoy it a lot.

So pretty and fresh . I mainly get a slight salty water note, some light powdery violet , a juicy realistic watermelon and a sliiiiiiight bit of soapiness from lily of the valley. So fun. A fruity aquatic perfect for summer !!

I love to wear a weird scent in the fall. WET, sharp watermelon with something slightly.. off. Will definitely buy a bottle for the summer.

Game Changer! I found my new spring scent and I love everybit of it!

I just spent a few days in the Faroe Islands, between Iceland and Norway. One afternoon, I was walking on a small beach and wandered over to some tide pools, where I was suddenly hit by the smell of freshly cut watermelon. I'm not sure if the source of the watermelon smell was some kind of creature or algae in the tide pools, or if it was coming off the yellow florals surrounding the beach. I tried Solstice on a layover in the Reykjavik airport on the way home, and it perfectly captured that exact moment: salt air, florals, watermelon, and north Atlantic summer ocean water.

This smells EXACTLY like Flora Salvaggio so If you have one, you don’t need the other. In saying that, it’s floral and beautiful and a nice watermelon note that’s not sugary sweet. I wear thr Flora one to work often and in spring often. This is tooo identical. I’m suspicious of who made this 🤨

The salty fruity and lightly sweet dried scent on your hands after eating slices of cool watermelon at the beach. I see a surfer girl wearing this. Those who are saying wet wipes, yes. If the wet wipes were organic cotton infused with lotion, watermelon juice and premium grade floral extracts.

Many kinds of water: melon, WetWipes, first spring rain, cold shower on a hot day, in a glass filled with wedges of ice, rushing over your tongue while you chew mint gum. Sort of minty-soapy-flowery-powdery-fresh. Refreshment itself.

I love this way more than I thought I would. This is fresh cucumber and watermelon rind, but with a slightly salty, marine/aquatic twist. The watermelon here is not your typical sweet watermelon note. Definitely sets itself apart from other summer scents in this same category. The best part is it's really strong and long lasting on me. I sprayed my wrist once when I went to bed thinking that a scent of this profile would for sure be gone in the evening (I'm a night shifter) but to my surprise I could still smell it 8 hours later. I wore 1 spray under my shirt to work and didn't have to reapply at all. I love getting whiffs of this as I'm just going about my business. Fresh, fruity, aquatic, and fun. It's the perfect scent for summer.

I’ve been searching for a watermelon fragrance. I’m looking for that fresh smell of a just opened watermelon. This is maybe better than others I’ve tried (Room 1015 Wavechild, The Harmonist Guiding Water, and the Dolce & Gabbana L’Imperatrice line) because there is a greenness too it that makes it smell slightly less sweet and slightly more green. One of the problems I’m discovering is just the note of watermelon itself. I’ve never found a photorealistic one. Most watermelon notes I’ve found have a Sour Patch watermelon aspect that reads a little cheap and juvenile to my nose. Again, this is the best, and freshest watermelon I’ve found. But it’s still not what I’m hoping for.

My husband ruined this for me. Upon first testing this, it was a very strong like. I picked up on the fresh, realistic watermelon and I loved how it was such a novel, fresh and long-lasting fragrance... I was ready to get a bottle. Then I had my husband smell it on me and his first reaction was that it smelled like wet socks. At first I was like, no way! But after smelling it a few more times on my skin, the wet socks are all I smell and I just can’t with this one anymore. Oh well.

This reads very floral on my skin and reminds me a bit of bathroom air freshener. I like the watery aspects, although I don't get much watermelon. It's much more white flower and feminine to my nose. I don't love it, I don't hate it. Just kinda so-so on this one.

I really wish the fresh watermelon opening lasted. In the dry down it smells like watermelon scented bubbles for kids, it smells very soapy to my nose! It’s not a “bad” scent, but not something I feel I would enjoy wearing.

Smells exactly like cucumber and watermelon scented wep wipes. A very clean and fresh smell but I think the association makes me not want to purchase a full size.

This smells like a generic sunscreen. I was really confused by the scent. I don't get any watermelon at all, which bums me out. The dry down is a bit more mellow, it's powdery from that violet and lilly of the valley. I guess that's it. This was a total miss for me.

Opens with pleasant fruity notes but within a few minutes, the fruitiness and florals have all but disappeared from my skin. What’s left is a rubbery smell almost akin to the soles of new sneakers.

Solstice is the newest release from the Icelandic artist @andreamaack and I am absolutely in love. Solstice is a fresh, juicy watermelon that surprised me with its lack of synthetic notes, something I’ve been searching for in the perfect watermelon fragrance. To me, this is the whole watermelon. Rind, juice, watermelon- freshly sliced and ripened to perfection. Solstice is an Extrait De Parfum, meaning the concentration is far higher than your average EDP. Therefore Solstice is certainly the longest lasting aquatic, fresh watermelon fragrance I have EVER tried with a longevity on skin of 8+ hours, projection & sillage is incredible, and the compliments are non stop!

Solstice arrived today. I’m a bit confused with this one. Do I smell just florals or the watermelon? The watermelon is a rind smell, not sweet and it’s leaning a bit too heavy on the florals for me. But then I smell it again and it’s straight watermelon like a plate of watermelon rinds...and some watery cut up watermelon that isn’t that sweet ripeness yet. This one is a mystery that I need to experiment with more but my thought right now is I’m leaning towards getting get rid of as I am not that in love with it. I will say though that this seems pretty strong. The scent lingered on my hands long after I washed them.

This does not smell good on me. I get vinegar and hairspray and the recollection of another perfume whose name I can’t remember which I used to wear when I was much younger. It isn’t good! In fact it is a scrubber. It’s a shame because I like most Andrea Maack perfumes but this a fail for me.

I agree with the reviewer who said this smells like cucumber watermelon scented wet wipes. I actually like this scent in the first few minutes as it's very cool and refreshing in this summer heat but it quickly dries down to something quite synthetic and not as crisp.

To me this smells like watermelon scented sunscreen with bit of florals in the background. So if that’s your thing you will like it. I feel like I have enough sunscreen-ish fragrances so not sure I need this one also. Great for summer though.

This is literally Guerlain Flora Salvaggia. Maybe a bit stronger, but I sprayed them on both arms and they are IDENTICAL. I have both in my collection. It’s nice not bad, wasn’t what I was expecting and annoying that they are exactly the same

The watermelon is super green, more like melon rind than juicy melon. I get a ton of marine water too. This isn't what I thought it would be. Smells kind of like hairspray to me.
