Sakan

An unusual arresting Oriental gourmand. It opens with cardamom surrounded by citrus. The ambery heart is accentuated by hints of coffee and cumin. The perfume dries down to a powdery patchouli, vanilla and musk. The shape shifting unisex perfume has moderate to strong sillage and good longevity. Reminiscent of my travels in countries like Egypt for some reason this is a perfume suffused with comfort and nostalgia. Enjoy!

Opening with a beautiful cardamom and bergamont note, a bit sweet , absolutely a beautiful creation

The opening is off putting , after 15 to 20 minutes it changes and you can smell the cardamon and a strong musk, cannot detect the coffee at all.

It smells like my delicious biryani rice. It’s got that same cardamon, cumin, clove, bay leaves, milky musk note. On my skin, I turn spice into a B.O aroma, like doing a sweaty cardio class the day after a curry.

So far I have tried 3 of the four - Red Ishq, Green Gala and this one. The gold didn't make not into my sample request.. I have to say, Ishq and Gaya were surprisingly good with nice longevity. I had previously tried a couple from the 2017 collection, even blind bought Mahaba, but I wasn't really impressed. They were just ok. This new series looked promising though, with the interesting bottle design. Love the bottles... An article here on fragrantica finally prompted me to order samples. Sakan is not what I expected and I personally didn't like it at first. It opens with a strong earthy/spicy note that strongly resembles parsnip, or celery root. I appreciate the odor of these root vegetables in soups and stews, but not perfume, and I had trouble getting past that. The scent didn't change much for me after a while of wearing it, so I was disappointed, unfortunately. But after about an hour it morphed into something interesting. I was very surprised.. Ishq I am buying a FB of, and maybe Gaya as well. Those two are really nice. This one I will be trying again - it's strangely addictive.

I was a little worried about that cumin main note, but don't let it put you off! It's not the sweaty type, more the earthy, grounding rest of the notes type. Same with the coffee it's there but it's not striking strongly. The cardamom too it's a bit of a whisper, albeit a very present one. This frag is sophisticated, as most Anfases are and should be at this price point! Don't let it's subtlety throw you off either it lasts. warm spices, wood, dried grass-hay dry, woody, & herbal notes blended with a trace of highly tamed animalic which adds a little intrigue ...but overall nicely blended classy, classic, & manly smelling i like it used about 3 sprays & i got medium but noticeable projection
