Im QUITE In LOVE 😍 Gorgeous gorgeous happy unique 2000’s high school clean girls Floral Start with fresh soft citrus and the subtlest red currant ever its soooo well blended with the florals its hard to smell them apart When the heart comes the florals really start blooming Its a colorful floral rather than a pink white purple or yellow more like a mix of them all I get peony violet freesia jasmine and rose With a subtle powdery woodiness and a noticeable musk note Floral musky Fruity and HAPPY !! 😆 There’s smth unique about it that i cant put my finger on The first sniff is wayy diff than wearing it for a full day fortunately a really moderate projection Lasts a couple of hours on clothes and doesn’t really perform well U either overspray and enter the room at the same moment or spray normally and hug every person u see in your face in order for them to smell you 😂 Really reminiscent of the 2000’s its smells like my childhood quite much Pretty affordable also 👍🏻!! 10/9,5

I bought this when I was craving for peony note in perfumes. When it arrived, I tried, and I didn’t care. Maybe I was overwhelmed by all kind of peonies in some perfumes that I bought at the time. Yesterday, I reached out to AS Essential, and I was like “wow!”. This is so good, sweet fresh peony, remarkable violet-rose combo, uplifting bergamot..heaven! This is the type of fragrance that will make you feel good and happy but not in a cheerful way (if you know what I mean). As the time goes by, it becomes a lil woodsy and warmer (sandalwood), also becomes more like a skin scent, which I don’t really mind. I enjoy it for my self.

This is a lovely scent. On my skin its stays very subdue and fresh. Perfect for spring and summer it has a special note that draws me to it and i cannot identify it. This mistery must be one of the reasons why I am so drawn to it. I would swear I detect some peper in it which is a great combination with the bergamot and peony. I get the sandalwood and vetiver but no musk. I find it very original and a great find since its not too well known. I just find it inibriating and fresh and sparkling green. My choice of scent for this summer thanks to a very generous fragrantica member!

Bought Essential untested after reading the reviews here, on my eternal quest for the perfect floral woody musk. Have used it for a few days now and find it absolutely delightful. Not really longlasting but so very pleasant, more fresh than sweet. Very easy to wear and approved for office use by co-worker. Don't think my little bottle will last until summer but unlike many other floral woody musks, I'd like to try Essential also in warmer weather.

peony, bergamot, freesia, white musk; this goes on with a burst of bright floral and citrus. It is not fruity or woody. Just fresh. Pretty for spring or summer. I wish it stayed in the top. It went on very loud and powerful but quickly tamed itself.

Essential is an easy to wear fragrance that starts off with a bright citrus opening that quickly dissipates into a comforting and mildly sweet woody scent. The dry down is dominated by sandalwood and cedar on my skin, and the red currant stays presents throughout the wear. There’s a mild laundry-detergent like quality to Essential but nothing extremely sharp or offensive. It makes me think of a windy spring morning where freshly washed laundry is hanging in a lush garden surrounded by fruit trees and flowers. I really need to add it back to my collection.

Essential is such a clear, soft, fresh, feminine and light fragrance, in a few words - I just love it :) Many thanks to SandraS, as without her, I would have never had the chance to test it, as I was not able to find it in any locate shops. I really need to buy a bottle of it this year. I also think it suits the best in spring or summer, but fall wouldn't be wrong either. This scent is hard to describe. I feel it is a bit fruity because of the red currant and mostly light floral and woody. Definitively worth a try!!

A composition of Essential is rich and fresh, peony and vetiver do sound here softly, dissolving in the whole bouquet, and there is a feeling of the air after the rain; it's almost ozonic fragrance. Still there is some note which "grounds" this fragrance from the opening, it might be that note of cedar. Sillage is oh good :) I'm curious how it will show itself during summer. It is good fragrance to move from cold winter to a fresh spring.

I found this one by chance while waching for sth else in my favorite store,tested it and bought it rightaway.Yes its easy to love,easy to wear and the price is so encouraging.Very light and fresh,smells so wellblended but dry down is surly musky and woodsy.Siuts evry day,any time.longlasting isnt very good but the bottle is easy to carry as well.you wont regret it at all.

I bought this perfume last saturday unsniffed it before. For me,it is a nice citrusy fragrance,I smell bergamot,more fresh than sweet,and couldn ́t find rose or violet but find sandalwood and vetiver at last.

Like a well tailored siut Beautiful perfume, freesia, rose, bergamot these notes I sense most. Warm, sensual bit oriental and at the same time airy too, long-lasting. I recommend trying it out.

Essential is to me a very nice spring/summer fragrance. Fresh and longlasting.

I bought this unsniffed a few months ago, in the dead of winter, because I was looking for a "fresh" fragrance. What I didn't realize was...what some people described as fresh, I actually experienced as crisp or citrusy. In fact, the top notes were overly crisp for the cold weather, and they took the joy out of the fragrance for me. I experienced mostly bergamot, currant, peony and freesia. My nose couldn't find rose, or any of the base notes. I have held onto the fragrance in the hopes that warmer weather would bring a favorable change to how I experienced the fragrance, and it has! This week has been sunny and in the 70's where I live, and the top notes now come across in a crisp, energizing way reminiscent of "grapefruit". This passes fairly quickly and I can sense all of the heart notes. The peony, freesia, and violet keep the fragrance a bit sharp on me, while the base notes add a very subtle undertone of creaminess to the fragrance, without being woody or sweet. It's a very feminine, classy fragrance, and it seems to last forever. While I think it's a nice scent, my chemistry doesn't make the most of it. On me, the top and heart notes dominate, and I'd personally prefer a much woodier base to help balance those notes. I recommend it for those who want something feminine, but understated. Seems to be a very good quality scent, too.

I can't believe all the rave reviews of this perfume! I'd been toying with the idea of ordering a bottle of Essential "blind" over the internet and decided to take a chance and do it a few days ago. I had very high hopes that this perfume would be lovely and that I'd fall in love with it. Sadly, that wasn't to be! I think that Essential is disappointingly bland, watery and it has no staying power whatsoever and virtually evaporated after a couple of hours, despite it being an EDP. It's also a very linear perfume which doesn't evolve at all so I would find it quite boring anyway. I'm returning my bottle of Essential and getting a refund!

A friend of mine loves this fragrance, so I decided to give it a try, from my point of view it is just plain, nothing special about it. A generic floral musky fragrance, that does not smell like anything. Because it is so plain everyone likes its smell. If you are plain Jane type of person, this would fit your style perfectly.

It smells like metal or like a spray from an empty deodorant on me :/ The metallic notes dominate this composition, they remind me of the new Hugo Boss Red for men.. Not that Essential is similar to it, but they share the metallic note I don't care about. Decent longevity and sillage.

Nice and light fragrance with the leading red currant and freesia notes. I wish only the lasting power was better. I like it.

I've sampled this several days ago and kept on coming back and sniffing it from the sample. My first impression of this perfume is, it's easy to like. It starts with a kinda of femine and refereshing flowery scent, with a hint of sweetness(not the sugary type :-)). after about 10 minutes, I got a lot of sweet rose, something like the Lancome Poeme's powdery way of sweetness(but not like Poem, it's only a little bit heady? not bad). However, the only vice is, after 10 minutes, til the dry down, there is a kind of creamy/milk-like note goes along with all the other floral notes.The milky notes...It's hard to describe, well, just imaging it's a summer morning, when everything's kinda cool and fresh,you get a 2L skim milk from the fridge, and poured it into a glass, inhale the cold and fresh milk at that moment. It could be lovely, however, I guess I'm too picky, I just can't help but feel the milky note ruins the perfume as it appeares to me really really synthetic, and I got a minor headach from that.However, there's nothing like milk in the perfume. Maybe it's my chemistry. PS: At some point, it does remaind me of Jean Paul Gaultier's Ma Dame, fresh in a similar way.(I'm not a fan of Ma Dame either) Anyways, about Essential by Angel Schelesser, if you are picky,and prefer heavier/darker floral woody musk instead of fresher floral woody musk,try(hopefully more than twice) before you buy. :-)

Another fragrance that my fragrance angel sent for me to sample... Yum! This fragrance goes on with a gorgeous chemical reaction that has the same type of "lift" that happens when I have sampled Womanity. This is a much softer fragrance than Womanity, but there is a similar chemical composition (it seems) in this fragrance. I love the first blast of this, but it quickly dries into a very soft shampoo-like smell on me, within about an hour of wear. If I could find a fragrance that maintained the initial BLAST of this, then I would be in heaven! The thing that would keep me from purchasing this, is the fact that I like to be able to smell the fragrance over 6-8 hours into the wear... with more of a full-bodied scent. Blame it on living through the 1980's and having a mother that wore Youth Dew extremely well... but I truly love the fragrances that have that "wear-ability" factor.

OK, call me crazy but the opening of this perfume gives out the exact same sour, crispy, unusual vibe as Le Feu d'Issey by Issey Miyake and I dare say way more convincing than Etra by Etro. Too bad it only lasts for about 10 minutes but it's so yummy and intense!! It settles down very quickly, remains unusual with freesia, red currant and bergamot outstanding. Resting on musk and violet base. This not your average drugstore fruity floral, oh no, it isn't!

THis is more of a FRuity woodsy.It opens with the sweetness of fruit then changes very shortly in a nice floral.I swear I can smell ROSE OF SHARON or ALTHEIA bushes with the rose.I feel like a bee who wants to crawl down inside and lick up the nectar.The best part is the velvet woody drydown.It retains just enough fruit and floral to make for an intersting woody finale.I really love this in all kinds of weather.It is ESSENTIAL to own!

I tried it in colder weather and it was green, cold and slightly bitter on me, like carrot tops or mango skins. Now, in the 90F heat, it is warmer and I feel woodsy notes. But I don`t know if I like this transformation. I probably will reserve my lovely decant for winter,warmth make it simple.

This smells very rich and creamy on, kind of like it has depth to it. Kind of initimate, but could also pull it off in the office I think. I get a more floral scent throughout which combines nicely with the sandalwood and musk.

love it much,had finish 2 bottles of this and keep buying it last month..perfect for anytime. fresh,sweet,creamy and modern.. i always got many compliment when i wear this. lasting power is pretty good on me.

I wonder.. Is it a safe fragrance to buy without smelling? I like the composition, but have nowhere to try it. And I found a great deal which is tempting. Help please!

This is about the MASCULINE version (which is missing on the website): It's nice. Really similar to Ferrari Black, in my opinion, but Essential is sweeter...

I was given a sample of this lovely perfume. It is a warm and sensual scent. Fruity to start with, some soft rose and then this lovley warmth at the base.

I go up and down with this scent, ultimately there seems to be a metallic note which doesn't agree with me so I finished my sample and now say goodbye.

very fruity. i think it's with a smell of watermelon. nice one. suitable for indoor only. it's a bit too soft outdoor.

Very nice, quite surprising first note, than fragrance melts in interesting bouquet but that's it. No lasting power..
