Profound Orange Wood

Very similar to the original Eau de Rochas.A little bit more aromatic and harsher to my nose but not a bad thing as it lasts longer. A good solid buy for a summer unisex fragrance that isn't all about citrus so you won't smell like everyone else which isn't a bad thing..I'd give it 9 out of 10!

I must admit I'm really impressed by this line. I have Joyful Nashi Bloom, Intimate White Flowers, Profound Orange Wood and Immense Peony, all blind bought in hope they could somehow take over Aqua Allegoria's place in my summer collection. I used to be very fond of Aqua Allegoria, but got disappointed with latest releases, reformulations and - generally speaking - price tag for what you get. Angel Schlesser ones somehow disappoint in this department but not too much. I'd say that the majority of old Aqua Allegorias are more edgy than these, less generic and presenting more character in general. Think of Nerolia Bianca that is really sharp and sour. They are a similar category of perfumes, but Angel Schlesser line are less characteristic and also more versatile. They definitely share the natural feel of the ingredients, which is Les Eaux d'Un Instant line's most impressive feature. So they do smell and feel very natural and fresh. They may not be too groundbreaking or complex perfumes, but are just marvellous for spring/summer because of that. I can't detect one molecule of nasty, artificial smell - the fruit and floral notes in all of them resemble the real things, freshly cut and mixed into the fragrance. Profound Orange Wood in the opening is - no surprise - a sharp, bitter, fresh citrus which is marvellous and unfortunately quickly gone. With time it gets just warmer and closer to skin, without patchouli being too dominant or overwhelming. It then gets a vibe of more generic, male cologne - which unfortunately is disgusting to my nose and makes it far more masculine than feminine. For a man, it's completely inoffensive, fresh-warm, versatile and a safe blind buy. Perhaps a bit forgettable/generic, but on the other hand - it may not be a good thing to stand out in the crowd during super hot weather. For a woman - I strongly advise testing before buying. For me it is unfortunately a big pass. The performance looks pretty decent on me in February so I expect it to be more than OK in summer.

Another perfume from the designer that entered my collection today, a beautiful, well-made citrus scent where I find a lot of resemblance to Bergamot by The Different Company, I have used it a lot in the past and I can assure you that it is very similar to it. Fresh opening dominated by a fresh and sweet orange at the same time, then evolves into a hint that is always bright but a little sweeter, very elegant and informal
