He is looking, outside his Car. The steering is still in his hand. It’s a long drive. Just have stopped beside the highway for a quick rest! It’s afternoon. It’s summer. Still it’s a shady day. He is transported to a distant memory, in an afternoon quite similar to this. He was in High-School. Rebecca and he was sitting on a bench, beside a High-Way. He had a peppermint gum, in his mouth. Wind was blowing through the sun-dried long grasses. Hardly there was anyone. And then, there was their first kiss. He was excited, with a bit of guilt, the reason of which was unknown. The memory broke. Rebecca is not in his life after High-School. He looked back. His daughter is still asleep. He, again got the sense of guilt. He started his car. Aer, is all about a lonely afternoon, a shady day, the wind over the grasses, a kiss, with a peppermint and a sense of guilt. All the ingredients are soo well present. As, alfrarom says, it starts with the most realistic smell of grapefruit. The elemi, gives a pungent touch to it. But the star is the Mint. Such, a lovely one here. It’s soft, and earthy. I hardly get the vetiver.A perfume, for your solitude. Sillage: Soft. A skin perfume, to enjoy when you are with your own company. Longevity on my skin: Approx 4-5 Hours. I wonder, how a soft perfume like this remains there for such a long time Longevity on fabric: Approx 6 Hours Occasion: It’s a very interesting perfume, with soo much to say! Enjoy it yourself, in your lonely periods. This perfume works exceptionally well in warm seasons, rather than cooler ones. P.S: The bottle, with it’s rugged look and the Gothic Rose cap, is just marvelous!!! Rating: 8.5/10

What really compels me about most of the fragrances in the Ciampagna's range, is the level of competence these people transmit. Aer makes no exception. A summery take on vetiver loaded with hyper-realistic and never overly synth citruses (a great grapefruit note here), greens and subtle smoky notes. Think about an hypothetical mash up between Roucel's Kenzoair (the anisic, slightly sweet aspect of the vetiver), the smoky-minty facets of Harmatan Noir by Parfumerie Generale and the transparency of some of the most successful latest Hermes. Yes, Aer is all of the above but it also has that subtle twist that makes all the compositions by Angela Ciampagna, something that stand on their own. That certain twist you would expect from, say, Etat Libre D'Orange or even from one of the *easiest* Comme Des Garcons. A favortie. Rating: 8/10

Someone mentioned that Aer was their favorite in this “collection” and I have to agree. Though much simpler in structure than all of the ones I tried, it still easily became my favorite. Upon opening, one will get a citrus and mint combination, though the combination of patchouli and vetiver immediately tells the wearer that they’re a’ comin’. The citruses recede, the mint remains and the vetiver grows ever stronger. It evokes some fading memories that I can’t quite grasp at the moment. The heart is a greatly balanced juniper and vetiver. Eventually the vetiver recedes in power but remains the dominant aspect of Aer. Definitely will pick up a full bottle.

Extrait de parfum is long gone Kenzo Air mixed with Eau de Cartier Vetiver Bleu and turned into an Elixir. Edp is not worth buying. Very good longevity and quite nice projection.

Pretty rugged and definitely outdoorsy breath of fresh air, medicinal, coniferous, minty, but with some definitely earthy /woody dirt underneath. The citrus is sharp enough to scrub the vetiver, a note I tend to fear, into something fresh and green instead of khaki-brown and fetid. It's a sharp smack to the cheeks, a sharp inhale of cold, dry mountain. At first it's nearly-bitter, bracing, with really, really strong juniper, no avoiding that if you hate it; I usually loathe mint but here it works sort-of-OK, but is still that tiny bit herbal, dried, not fresh but khaki-green again, which might often mean NO from me but it's well enough toned in with the rest to work. Definite shades of Moroccan mint tea, but with no sugar (as it's never served in the real Morocco then!) - in fact the one thing it doesn't have (and doesn't need) is any element of sweetness whatsoever. It's all totally savoury, vegetal, botanical, bracing - no food for comfort here. The elemi adds a dark-brown, earthy bottom to it which really grounds it. Only ever sits close to the skin, and - isn't it so often the way? - the more interesting stuff happens only within the first 90 minutes; the lingering vetiver/elemi bottom end is pleasant enough, and warms to something much spicier and darker and more pillowy later on, but nothing exceptional. It reminds me of a host of things - the tang and spareness of grapefruit+vetiver in Fazzolari Lampblack, the near-twin juniper scents CDG Dover St Market and PG Eau Guerriere , or Atelier des Ors Cuir Sacre with no leather - without being a clone of any of them. Still not quite at my ease with it, though; it's a little austere, a bit too demanding a hike for pleasure. Would definitely work well as a crisp wake-you-up scent for a spring or autumn day. Like all this line it's not cheap and longevity is only medium. Has the same arty, individual character as others in the line which do weird woods in a way I can relax with more; but for fans of real clean outdoorsy aromatics, and vetiver completists, this could be magnificent.

#1281 in my "Tour de Fragrance" I'd recommend you not blind buy this. This is pretty boring. Got this as a decant. Not getting a full bottle. Kinda like Lacoste without the eucalyptus. Think Issey Miyake "Pour Homme Fraiche", Jo Malone "Grapefruit", Armaf "Voyage Bleu" and "Shades Blue", all nondescript stuff that's okay summer wear, inoffensive, but offers nothing of any particular interest. At least you get a decorative bottle. The juniper note is strong enough that I might wear this if I really oversprayed (I emptied the entire decant onto my chest to get some real projection out of this stuff. You pretty much have to bathe in it to get it to last till lunch). But there are hundreds of blue leaning parfums, EDPs, many less than half, some less that 1/5th the price of this. I would choose every Alhambra Invictus clone over this for summer wear. If you can afford a $20 scent you can do better than this. If you can afford a $100 scent, you can do way better than this.

6/10 if i'm not reading the notes, this smells like the stereotypical "man" wood note and some roasted nuts. someone could definitely pass this off as a Pineward scent. if i wore this, i would wear it to a campfire on a warm night

It makes me cough! it is the wood powder beside the vetiver as the citrus is quite thin but good that it's there to add the sour effect to the juice. as it calms down the wood powder becomes stable with the help of elemi and some mint with more citrus. It has a certain feeling as in Liquo but never the same, i guess it's just the aura behind those 2 fragrances as i see Aer quite charming and acceptable to my taste. Edit (20th Dec 2016) I don't know what happened? i have purchased a full bottle and still in the box never opened, so i thought of using the sample sample again and it felt as if i am sniffing a spicy meal on a cooking process! very spicy and sort of spices! I then used a brand new sample of this one and again i am sniffing that weird smell! what have happened to the charm i sniffed before?

*** آنجلا چامپاینیا ایر *** در یک عصر بهاری و ابری ، در کنار یک پنجره مینشینیم . با حس و حالی سردرگم و چندسو که در حقیقت هیچکس حتی خودتون نمیدونه دلیل حالتون رو . حسی پر رمز و راز ولی از جنس صداقت . در پنجره رو باز میکنیم و بعد از گرفتن یک نفس تازه از هوای بیرون سکوت اختیار میکنیم . بیرون از پنجره ، فضایی سرسبز اعم از چمنزار و سبزی هایی مثل نعناع اعلام حضور میکنند به نحوی که نسیمی خنک عرض ادبشون رو به شامه ما میرسونه . در کنار اون فضای سبز مقداری دورتر ، روایحی مرکباتی هم به شامه ما میرسه . جنس این نوع روایح از نوع تسلیم بودن هست . انگار این روایح با تسلیم بودنشون و صداقتشون هوش از سرمون میبرند و یک ارامش ذهنی در ما ایجاد میکنند . نفس های عمیق همچنان ادامه داره ... اگر سمبلی برای چنین حس و حالی بود دوست داشتم کلمه بهشت رو بکار ببرم . چقدر حس خوبی هست که قبل از اینکه به ریویو این عطر بپردازیم ، ذهن شما رو با یک سری کلمات بیشتر اشنا کنیم با این رایحه . بذارید با سرسبزی و چمنزار و نعناع شروع کنم . مرکبات ، بهشت ، وتیور اما چه وتیوری ( دوست داران وتیور اصلا از دستش ندن ) ، پچولی ، ارامش ، خاک حرف هست ولی خیلی کلمه نیست ... نمیشه خیلی نوشت از این رایحه چون حق مطلب ادا نمیشه و در عین حال میشه ساعت ها و روزها راجبش صحبت کرد . اما یک نکته ای که در بین خیلی از دوستان عطرباز و حتی خود بنده هم بود این بود که روایحی از چنین جنس خیلی نمیتونن عمق و کاراکتر داشته باشند . و در خیلی جاها این صدق میکنه و از روایح نسبتا خنک خیلی نمیشد چیز پرمفهوم و پرعمق و مرموزی دراورد ولی گاهی این تابو شکسته میشه اونم به هنری ترین شکل ممکن و ایر از این قائده مستثنی نیست . این عطر یکی از بهترین عطرهای خنکی هست که تست کردم . دقت کنید تعریف خنک در اینجا مقداری متفاوت هست . از ویژگی های بارز این برند شفافیت شدیدا بالا و ظرافت بی نظیر نت ها هست که در بهترین بالانس ممکن اورده شدند . شفافیتی که در برند لورنزو یا ماسک دیده بودیم رو هم حتی چندین لول بالاتر ببرید. راجب حس و حال رایحه ، یک رایحه بسیار ارامش بخش از جنس بهشت ، رایحه ای شاداب ولی مرموز ، رایحه ای که دائما با تغییر نت هاش و شفافیت بالاش با ذهن و روان شما بازی میکنه . رایحه ای از جنس طبیعت . فضایی بسیار اروماتیک و لذت بخش. شروع رایحه از جنس مرکبات و روایح سبز هست . دقت کنید که وقتی اسم این دوتا میاد یک ذهنیت بدی همیشه در من ایجاد میشد به واسطه بالانس نبودن مقادیرشون در عطرها . ولی اینجا هر کدوم شدیدا حساب شده وارد میشن و بسیار صادق و شفاف هستند و انگار عرض ادبشون خیلی دقیق حساب شده . جالبتر اینکه هر کدوم از نت ها ، یک نقش و جون تازه ای به کار میبخشن . نعناع یکی از اون چیزهایی هست که در ابتدا در کنار فضای چمنی و مرکباتی یک نقش شدیدا زیبایی رو داراست . شاید تو هیچ عطری به چنین زیبایی کاربرد نعناع رو حس نکرده بودم . همینطور لیمو در این رایحه هر از گاهی خودش رو خیلی خوب نشون میده و انگار مثل یک نمودار سینوسی هر از گاهی بالا میره و حس شادابی عطر رو بیشتر میکنه . یکی دیگر از ویژگی های جالب این رایحه که تا حدودی جدید هم هست بخوری بودن فضای سبزش هست که خیلی جلوه خاصی رو از روایح سبز به ما میده . البته در ابتدای اسپری چنین چیزی خیلی حس نمیشه و به مرور زمان بهش اضافه میشه . تم بخوری ای که شما رو دعوت میکنه به استشمام رایحه ادامه بدید و سریع ازش دست نکشید . اما بیس کار وتیور هست . وتیوری متفاوت و دوست داشتنی که از ابتدای رایحه که کمرنگ هست تا انتها که لحظه به لحظه زیاد و زیادتر میشه اونم به صورت همگن . نیم ساعت پس از اسپری پچولی به کار اضافه میشه و در ترکیب با وتیور یه تم خاکی خیلی جالبی به کار میده که اصلا زیاد نیست . تمامی روایح در این رایحه در موازی هم هستند و هیچ تداخلی ندارند و این یکی از عجایب این رایحه هست . اگر دوست دار تجزیه بیشتر نت های این عطر هستید کافیه نت های عطر رو نگاه بندازید و توصیه میکنم حتما این کار رو انجام بدین روی این کار تا با عناصر این عطر بیشتر اشنا بشید . مثلا صمغ المی . صمغ بسیار مشهوری که در عطرهایی نظیر لاوز و اوپوس 1144 و هیستواغ 1740 به وضوح استشمام میشن و جلوه خیلی خاصی به عطر میدن و دونستن رایحه این نوع صمغ بسیار مفید هست . پرفورمنس کار متوسط رو به بالا هست و برای چنین رایحه ای به نظرم مناسبه . به نظرم کار متمایل به مردونه هست و روی تن اقایون زیباتر میشینه ولی خانم ها هم میتونن بپوشن و چنان محدودیتی ایجاد نمیکنه . علی الخصوص خانم هایی که عموما عطرهای مردونه رو میپوشن این کار براشون پوششی تر هست . در پاییز و بهار و تابستان به نظرم بسیار مناسب هستند برای پوشیدن ولی بهترین فصل ممکن برای این نوع رایحه رو بهار و پاییز میدونم . زنده باد . بسیار لذت بردم از این عطر . 10/10

Quite a woody air this is, and besides all the mint and pine, doesn't feel cold, maybe even the opposite. As with most Angela Ciampagna fragrances, this is not only nature's landscape, there are always traces of human life. A rustic house in the countryside. Its walls, its furniture, its basement. Herbs are drying there. Some intense resins from a pine trunk. Some good old gin-like alcohol and a box of black tea. Finally, a nice bottle of Guerlain's Vetiver Extreme (or Givenchy's) comes to stay. All the notes smell so natural, yet at the same time they come to signify not the plants themselves, but what's been made out of them by humans: drinks, ointments, colognes, furniture, different preparations. Goutal's Nuit Etoilee starts in the same direction, but remains in Nature's open landscape untill the end. Hence, it never manages to achieve this second layer of associations and memory triggers. The only downside for me is that Aer settles too fast to a variation of all those bright & dusty, qluxury barbershop vetivers that I know too well. Not a downside really, because this makes me crave them all: Guerlain's, Givenchy's, Carven's. But I wish the middle phase lasted longer.

An herbalized, semi-retro take on a modern vetiver. This one’s juniper-powered with a great mint leaf opening, so it has that herbal-fresh berry-esque thing going on. Usually juniper spells disaster for me, but it’s handled with care here and it sits well with the vetiver to produce an aerated fresh scent that smells neither harsh nor overly angular. In that regard, I think Aer is a confident take on a mainstream fresh masculine but with more of a wildcrafted feel to it. The name seems appropriate as it conjures in my mind an (admittedly) idyllic image of what I envision the Italian country side smells like. It also smells crafty, but with none of the negative baggage that can come with that term; it’s more like a formula that’s been handed down through a family for decades or something. The only real gripe I have with it is that after an hour or so, most of the great opening notes are gone, and you’re left with a pleasant but standard-issue Iso E and vetiver base. Having said that, I still find Aer to be one of the better offerings from the line — one that’s very easy to get along with. I'd recommend this more for fans of herbal aromatics than anything.

AER is heavier than hot summer air and fresh as a cool moist garden air full of coniferous trees at the same time. Light green notes give way to a terpenic/herbaceous scent with woody/earthy and some spicy undertones. Unfortunately the firm base that whole composition is based on it annoys me. I'm not sure what it is really made of, but I can describe it this way; an ambery accord empowered by synthetic ambergris infused with a sugary moss and a mutated vetiver. It is roughly the same cloying accord that all so-called NICHE houses use in the base when it comes to fresh fragrances! A nice fragrance that is not my cup of tea at all.

This smells like an herbal tea to me, one of those cleansing ones, that don't really taste good at all. It's a no for me perhaps the bad associations...I smell chamomile and licorice notes too.
