Probably my favourite of the Ángela Chiampagna líne. To my nose It is a musky floral. I get the gardenia and the ylang ylang, very natural, giving a soft and powdery character to the fragrance. The background is ambery and balsámic, with a creamy Benzoin and tolu balm and a bit Smoky incense. The perfume is not very intense but long lasting. It is always there, at tour black, slightly but continuos, creating a very nice aura around you. It is a very original perfume, perhaps not for all tastes but if you like I think you would probably LOVE It. I see It as an elegant scent, perfect for daytime use, unisex, for those Who want to smell different. It goes Direct to my wishlist! Fauni is composed with the rarest materials of top quality: Italian gardenia jasminoide, Indonesian ylang-ylang extra, Somali frankincense, Sumatran benzoin, Colombian Tolu balm among others. It’s a tender white floral shrouded in smoky woody resins. The romantic concept of the perfume is the ambiance of the nocturnal rite of Faugni taking place before the winter solstice in the village of Atri (the home of Angela Ciampagna).

100ml bought at the shop in rome in november '22. when i chose it, the shopkeeper commented that it was the favorite of a lawyer client after he learned that i am a retired lawyer. i do not think i am attracted to musky florals and certainly not fragrances that hang out in many malls. yes, and yet, there are floral notes, but they are akin to wood flowers where they hint rather than hit one over the head with overpowering sweetness. i have usually found gardenia to be gagging, (the curse of growing up in the 60's where it seemed to be everywhere) not being able to stay in a room with fresh gardenia (or tuberose for that matter.) here, while present, plays politely. the total effect is a bit old dandy, a boutonniere completing the man with a gentle pleasant aura.

I kind of jive with Q80’s review in terms of the utter weakness of this fragrance. I can’t really notice much of anything to break apart in the first few minutes. Give it about 10 and I can start to smell the olibanum and then after around 30 minutes I got some hint of the base notes for this thing. But, really there just isn’t much there at all in terms of any projection - let alone even being able to smell it on myself. Now, this did grow a bit stronger in my skin over time, but still it’s so light as not to be worth the trouble of trying to discern what I smelled. I tested some on a paper sample and I was able to smell the floral and green notes and the ylang-ylang in the background. The heart of the fragrance on paper is nice, but still very light. The olibanum comes forth and offers some balance to the flowers and gardenia. The base offers a light amber and wood. And how did I know this was expensive? Rolled my eyes - think I’ll give this one a pass.

Am I wrong or does the dry down smell like bile?

This fragrance is floral balsamic, as the floral is mostly tulips just as the one in "Fleurs et Flammes" by Antonio Alessandria. As it calms down the balsamic lightens up allot and the tulips goes soft and tender, the whole juice becomes quite alluring and captivating but too thin and very close to skin. This is my 2nd test after esxence 2016 and I'm not that captivated by it as I had quite high hops for it but eventually it turned to be quite weak and thin but still I want to give it more time cause I might be missing something Angela sees. Let's wait and see. Edit (22nd may 2016) it is quite weak like a weaker version of "Fleurs et Flammes" by Antonio Alessandria. I wish the sample that I got is just a test and not the final version of this fragrance cause if it is the final version then it's like buying a water version of fauni. Edit (5th Dec 2016) damn! still i don't smell nothing after 5 minutes of applying! i can't detect nothing specially when i apply it on my skin! is it me or the fragrance itself!? I like Angela's creations but if this were in the same range of her previous fragrances (specially in 50ml) i would have definitely bought one, but with this silage and projection i won't although i feel somehow and sometimes obliged to have this one in particular! maybe because of the effects it brings as it feels as if it's a illusionist old witch that deludes you that she is young and beautiful while she is in fact not. It's my 2nd sample almost finished now & i can't smell nothing after few minutes of applying! Why, just WHYYY? Edit (29th Oct 2018) I have found a sample of this within my collection and damn it was good but also bad at the same time! it has a beautiful tuberose and white floral but within there is a stinky unpleasant note that makes it awful! it's like the foodi note that i found in "Liquo"! something like spices and it kind of stinks. I just want to love this so bad but i just can't! Evgeniya Chudakova wrote one day in 2016 when this one was released: "either a girl or an old witch trying to create a delusion and make us see her as a young beauty. And it's also not a gardenia, but its image - not pretending to be real. A strange and marvelous fragrance. They sometimes say about such things: "repulsingly attractive"" Today i believe this image is clear as i didn't believe it were back then! to me now it's just repulsive :( and i just wish that note isn't there! Edit (5th nov 2018) a brand new simple I got.. it's WAY different from what I already sniffed! Its ylang balsamic gardenia at max, brilliant. Eventually, I realized that there is a HUGE problem with Angela's blends, they change with time and turn into a really repulsive essences! I have witnessed it with this one here and "liquo". This fact is just frustrating and I hope Angela take this into consideration. Edit (28th Jun 2020) My 6th try. Sour balsamic floral! i am surprised today that i can smell this blend more than i did long ago! Benzoin, sweet gardenia, balsam fir, dewy green grass, musk, burst of olibanum, & vanilla. Nice

تست اول امشب .❤️❤️❤️ . عطری تقریبا کمپلکس و نامفهوم که داده های ذهنی آدم هیج شناخت قبلی نه از کلیات ( شباهت به عطری دیگه ) نه شناخت از جزییات میده . . فضای خاکی . بخوری . رزینی . کمی گل بو و سبز . اما معطر و دوستداشتنی با اینکه بشدت یونیک و ارتستیکه اما اصلا حس دافعه و حس اگزوتیک نمی‌ده ‌. عطری در فضای ارینتال و فلورال که قدرتش رو از اکوردی رزینی میگیره . خیلی هم بخوری نمیشه بهش گفت . بیشتر من حس صمغ خام معطر میگیرم ‌. با ته مایه حس چوبی و امبری ... کیفییت عطر اعلاست . رایحه بسیار زیباست . ولی پرفورمنس قابل توجهی نداره ذاتا پخش بوی خیلی ملایمی داره و موندگاری حدودا ۳-۴ ساعته روی پوست . کلا بسیار دوست داشتنی و ملایمه . در خصوص شباهت ی کوچولو منو می‌بره تو فضای سنچری 03 از اودین ... ولی این ی نمه حس صابونی داره که اودین نداشت ‌ خیلی عطر شیکیه . باتل هم واقعا دکوراتیو و زیباست . قبلا چندتا عطر از انجلا تست کرده بودم بشدت ارتستیک و یونیک بودند اینم همینطوره بنظرم برای فصل پاییز و پوشش رسمی بشدت عالیه 👌

بسیار کمپلکس و سخت تشخیص دقیقن مث فوکو لیناری و بسیار شبیه در تاپ نت. فضا بالزامیکی چوبی امبریه که کمی شیرینی گلی داره. بعد یه مدتم یه حس لاستیکی بهش اضافه میشه که کاش نمیشد. در مجموع عطر بسیار محترمیه 👌 ----------- Scent & Quality: 9/10 Longevity: 6/10 Sillage: 6/10 Creativity & Uniqueness: 9/10 Affordability: 4/10 ----------- Overall: 6.8/10
