Karíkia

Excellent perfume. Very well structured and enjoyable. Opens with a "grain" like note to my nose and quickly transitions to the sheer tobacco, mixed with light smoke from perhaps the incense and pepper. As Karikia develops, a slight nutty sweetness blends in with the dry tobacco, which reminds me ever so slightly, (at least in concept), of Slumberhouse's Jeke 2022's maple syrup note with tobacco, but whereas Jeke is dominating/bordering on overpowering, Karikia is much more subdued in a very pleasing way. What a wonderful perfume this is, IMO.

smells like a more developed and thought out New Haarlem from Bond No 9., would definitely get it if i didn't already have a new haarlem

I'm sorry to say, but this is unpleasant. I want to like it, but it just smells like a tire shop

My initial concern was that either the blood orange was going to end up ruining this composition, or the hazelnut and pancake notes were going to hog up the formulation but this is not the case here. Angelos does an excellent job at keeping the tobacco the focal point of this fragrance. The tobacco is more on the dry shredded cigarette side of things which is one of my favorite aspects of tobacco! Now the sweetness is coming from both the pancakes and hazelnut but not in an intrusive way. Yes this has lots of notes but I only really get a cohesive blend of Tabac with supporting players of hazelnut, pancakes, with a tinge of vanilla and blood orange which is a ratio that works for me! To give you a better idea of what it smells like, think of Rook by rook with that same smokiness but way better Tabac Libre was a hit, Danse not so much but Karikia is full bottle worthy imo!

An inviting, somewhat gourmand take on tobacco that foregoes the familiar vanilla combo for a hazelnutty texture on a nice grounding of leather. Almost Slumberhouse-adjacent but much more finely tuned and less blunt(of course the thick blunt tones of SH fragrances are what make them fun so ymmv).
