From one test spray, I remember this as being a very pretty floriental sort of scent, along the honeyed lines of Poeme (but smelling quite different, rose and tuberose rather than narcissus and mimosa.) The company keeps its bottles deliberately simple and almost clinical, which allows you to assign all manner of imagery to the scent within – catnip to intellectual types. It must have been a combination of the name, and that floral richness combined with an ambery-vanillic-woody vibe, reminiscent of precious unguents and royal offerings, but the image that comes to mind are the incredible golden crowns in oak-leaf and acorn motif found at the tomb of Philip II of Macedon, and his unnamed consort. The Copenhagen shop where I sniffed this was having a moving-out sale, and I didn’t make it back in time before they closed at that location for good, something I’ll always regret. I only have the memory of one tiny, tiny spray of heady summer-floral warmth. I wish I could find more info and reviews about this house!
