Mantra

The gourmand notes of Mantra are more a sheer veil to the violet that is the centerpiece of Mantra. It's dusted with cocoa, just somewhat sweetened with burnt sugar and vanilla, but is still a blue spirit around which all else orbits. It actually feels somewhat mysterious and ambient, a drone of cool detachment with pleas of warmth circling it. I imagine a space where some mystical, esoteric doctrine is practiced, and the incense burned smells like this. I am quite intrigued by it; it really isn't quite like anything else I've smelled.

Where pools of clearest water catch the light, seek the violet that blooms beneath no soil. Bright as amethyst, suspended in golden amber, yet flowing like honey through crystal streams. Each ripple reveals its secret - a flower preserved in liquid that cannot wet, a sweetness that flows yet never moves. Beneath it all, warm amber holds these fragments, a fleeting eternity captured in impossible depths.

roasted, smoky, slightly bitter cacao with warm ambery violets. I find the cacao note a bit too bitter/dry for my liking in the opening, but it does mellow out by the full dry down. The violets are warm, powdery, richly floral, with very minimal sweetness. While I’m not totally sold on the scents composition, I do find it somewhat enjoyable once it’s fully dried down
