Absinthe-Minded

First spray is a hit of sweet fennel and anise. I don't mean this in a subtle "you need to have the nose for it to get it" kind of way - it's pure bright fennel and anise. There is a very light minty/liquorice aspect underneath which comes to the front during the dry down. The dry down is a milder anise, patchouli and soft woodsy notes on a bed of earthy oakmoss which is perfectly blended to create something I promise you haven't smelt before in a perfume. After about forty minutes a sweet soft amber emerges where there was no trace of it before - what a truly delightful olfactory experience. Chameleon is the perfect word for this fragrance. Absinthe-Minded is not your average perfume, it's a bold exploration of scents that comes together in such a unique and unexpectedly wearable way. My only issue with this scent is the lack of longevity. I applied the usual two sprays on my wrist for testing and after an hour it exists only as a very mild skin scent. I'd recommend Absinthe Minded for scent explorers, art fragrance lovers, oakmoss lovers (the dry down is oakmoss bliss!), or as an interesting and quirky casual day scent.

This is a fragrance like no other - the first puff feels like magic - it's like a bright green light to get your attention and then you're hooked. It is truly beautifully balanced and carefully blended, totally unisex (and sexy), and one of those scents that lingers on the sheets the morning after. This is one scent that will grab your attention, is like no other scent I've tried, and I will be coming back for more. I purchased this scent, and this review comes from my nose and my heart. For now - it is available on Etsy, and will be shipping worldwide as soon as possible. Anka Kus has more beauty on offer - Jezebel, Betwixt and Between...and more...but they have not as yet been listed here. Come on Fragrantica - the world needs to know what they're missing out on. These incredible fragrances need to be purchased, worn and loved. Ali is a true artist in every sense and the world deserves to know what he has to share. Onu özel yapan tabanı meşe yosunu ile kapatmış olmasıdır. Bence bir kadın için ya da bir erkek için üretilmemiş. If you love anise/absinth/licorice or aromatic scents then you’ll enjoy this fragrance. I love how sharp it is at the top, always reminding me it’s an absinth fragrance. As it dries down it goes into a really lovely aromatic, almost barbershop territory. As a whole it’s a non-offensive fragrance that is equally different. For those who are repelled by licorice type scents, I guess avoid. But be warned, this is addictive. The longer I wear it, the more o want to wear it. Samples as always and Happy Hunting!

This is phenomenal! I have never found such a chameleon of a fragrance before this gem. You experience many different moments during the journey of this scent, from the incredibly boozy opening, swirling through the chaotic, disinhibited middle, before coming to rest in a sobering amber and cashmere embrace. Longevity is great with a solid 8-ish hours on my skin (yet you'd swear it was many different scents, a true shapeshifter).

A good introduction to the Absinthe perfumes, for anyone wanting to try it.

I expected a better experience with this but it was pretty much a non-event. It opens with an interesting wash of fennel, artemisia and anise with a hit of absinthe in the background. This fusion of notes is unique to my nose and has a leaning-masculine, almost fougere vibe to it, using non-traditional herbs. But the opening doesn't develop and seems to become watery, fading within 30 minutes. I've had this experience with every Anka Kus perfume I've worn so far; it's as if I'm anosmic to them. I took an olfactory refresher in the heart of this perfume, roaming around my kitchen sniffing cocoa, coffee, blackberry jam, tea leaves, cardamon and fruits... all as they should be, all radiating out reassuringly. Back to Absinthe Minded... yes, the herbs and absinthe are there, but it's as if they're submerged under an aquatic layer and I'm only getting a homeopathic impression of them. I see one other reviewer has had this same experience, but most reviews are effusive. This watered-down impression can't be an accident if I'm getting this same impression from each of the three Anka Kus Perfumes I've worn. Perhaps these samples are all from newly-created batches and need to mature. Who knows? I'll try again in a few weeks and edit if there's any improvement. I wish this was more positive but a blind purchase based on reviews has left me very disappointed. Great presentation has not made up for the lack of performance. Very simple unchallenging wormwood disappears within 30 minutes leaving little Sillage and a weak skin scent. I noticed someone voted out the L’Artisan Fou D’Absinthe comparison. I don’t know why. It is similar and for the additional price, far superior. for the price asked it should be better or equal to this. Sorry but after also trying some samples I feel this is a brand pushed to market before it’s properly mature - I find Jezebel a mix of Bright rose and Chocolate that again comes across as a synthetic gourmand. Hopefully some of the other samples will shine and I will update if that is the case.

Absinthe-Minded, was unfortunately a scrubber. Didn't work for me AT ALL. It was just too green, too aromatic, too something else. A bit of a gag reflex was brought on, and even though I've generally REALLY been enjoying Anka Kus' range, this was an immediate no. The absinthe, which for me is quite a green, vegetal scent was rendered into a cologne-esque scent that was just not my cup of tea at all. I tried it, I really truly did, but it was just too much...

No one should deal with this brand. The owner, named Ali, stole from me five months ago, has not returned my money, and does not respond to messages. I have proof of this and strongly advise you to stay away from him. The anasone note is dominant in the opening and until dry down that's why it's remind me of Yeni Raki. A vibrant,bright and dark green of anasone. Green scents are dominant with the patchouli and oakmoss. I'll give a silly example; my father used to smoke Samsun ciggy when I was a child, he used to carry it in the pocket of his shirt and when I hugged him, I would smell that ciggy package so this scent reminds me of that smell :)) Only the problem is that the scent is disappeared quickly on my skin. After 1-2 hours it's gone. If they improve of performance, I think it's a nice perfume. Parfumun acilisindan kapanisina kadar baskin anason kokusu aliyorum. Yalniz kotu yani tenimde cok cabuk kayboldu 1 saatten sonra koku tamamen tene yaklasiyor, tende cabuk gidiyor koku :( Belki performans sorununu hallederler diye umuyorum. Cok sacma bir ornek vericem; babam ben cocukken Samsun sigarasi icerdi onu gomleginin cebinde tasirdi ve ona sarildigimda o sigara paketinin kokusu gelirdi burnuma ve bu parfumde bana o kokuyu hatirlatiyor. Icindeki anasondan dolayi gunun cok erken saatlerine gitmez gibi geliyor. Eger performans sorununu hallederlerse bence guzel bir parfum.

I don’t often write reviews here but in this case I just had to, I have Absinthe-Minded and also samples of all of Ali’s creations which I’m currently working my way through and let me tell you there is a lot to love here. Absinthe-Minded perfectly hits the brief of taking the wearer off on an intoxicating and addictive journey, a perfect escape from the realities and challenges of life, as it dries down and fades I find myself ready to reach for my next escape and adventure. I’ve found it extremely comforting and the ingredients and blending are skilfully brought together by a talented hand and the quirky presentation immediately caught my attention. You don’t get nominated for a Golden Pear if you are producing mediocre work.Trust me this is a brand to watch and an experience to be enjoyed. In my opinion Ankakus Parfums are going to put Australia firmly on the map, I highly recommend you check out this brand if you want to enjoy really creative perfumery from a wonderfully humble and charming perfumer whose creative vision is about to explode onto the world’s perfume stage with a bang

[Absinthe-Minded] ⚫️⚫️⚫️⚪️⚪️ We begin with a bright and uplifting anise as expected. It’s invigorating and leaning slightly aquatic, perhaps thanks to the use of canthoxal in the heart. Unfortunately, this piquant phase doesn’t stick around for all that long and leaves you for a vaguely mossy-green medley, featuring all the hallmark Anka Kuş base materials. The liberal use of ‘ambergris’ prevents this perfume from fading into obscurity on skin, however in doing so, completely flattens the formula and results in yet another AK perfume lacking a voice of it’s own. Perfumer Ali Erkekli’s ambrox blindness unfortunately cripples most of his creations. Sticking out like bad veneers. I would love to see more of their personality come through with less dependency on these ethereal, hyper-modern materials that drag the perfume down and tonally steer the perfume away from the brief.

This opens really strange. A fennel and wormwood mess which quickly faded into an Ambroxan heavy medicinal skin scent. If you want to smell like the inside of a third world country dentist this might be the way to go. Although I only tried this from a sample. Projection 1/5 Longevity 3/5 Scent 1/5

An Australian gem. The fresh, quirky opening grabs your attention, while it dries down into something soothing yet sexy, soft and human but also still mysterious. As with other reviews - perfectly unisex. One of the most exciting and intriguing brands I have come accross too.

The owner of this brand is a thief. Liar and counterfeit.. Has roped me off for AU$3000. Hasn't returned my money.. Hasn't given me any product or whatsoever 🤔. And not responding.. STOP SUPPORTING HIM. PLEASE.

The peachy confiture base is very pleasant, but there's too much mold/dirt/basement in the opening. The mold should be more subtle, I think, then it will be perfect.
