Betwixt and Between Extrait

When I first tried Betwixt and Between, I was intrigued, and as I worked my way through my little sample over the next few months, my intrigue turned into a deep fascination. So, after months of being haunted by this strange beauty, I finally grabbed it for a very fair Black Friday price and I am SO glad I did! This is a true extrait–an outstanding performer that I never go noseblind to. Different rose notes mix with an enigmatic smoke note that gives the impression of a rose perfume that was created using some sort of secret alchemy. The fascinating art on the bottle captures the mysteriousness of this blend well.

Ill start by admitting that this peaked my interest cause the name reminded me of (things betwixt) the starting area from dark souls 2 one of my favorite video games. By the first spray i can tell you this is an instant wishlist kinda of perfume.. Beatiful jammy rose floating in smokey ambery air Its very light and airy even when i stick my nose on my skin it feels like its floating around and not in projecting from oil Its unisex dark mysterious.. dare i say blind buy safe?

This start off with a juicer rose. Almost pear in sweetness. Reminds me of a grapes in sweetness. It’s wafting throughout the environment with smokiness. Dries down to a rich smoky Turkish rose with smooth cashmere and leather with a musky amber. Last forever my wife loved it on me. I don’t suggest spraying this anywhere close to your nose.

This baby grabs hold and hangs on - a true extrait. I love being able to smell the remnants of last night's fragrance in the early hours of the morning. It's like waking up to a fragrant gift. Soft, smoky, earthy and comforting. I purchased my samples and bottle - the scent and opinions are my own.

a beguiling and delightful fragrance, I tend to not enjoy rose in perfume, but this rose is very well done. compared also to the two other anka kus perfumes I tried, this one lasted the longest on me. the smokiness and rose are enchanting. its sillage is also fantastic.

This is insanely beautiful. Complex and so well-blended. One of the best rose-amber fragrances I’ve tried, it’s deep and rich, with the perfect amount of smokiness and woodiness. Lasts for an unbelievably long time - I could smell it on my clothes for days and days!!

This fragrance is a superstar! Perfect for those who love rose, oud, mossy perfumes. Very strong and totally unisex! 5* Never thought I will fall in love again with a scent, I want to keep this only for myself!

Smoky, musky rose shrouded in incense. There is a slight sweetness and candy like quality to the rose. Great blending and sophisticated smell. Shukran Habibi!

Guns( Smoke) n Roses 🥀 I really can imagine Axl Rose and Slash wearing it during their concerts. It’s a lovely Smoky Rose with well blended Musks.

Roses, Smokey, musky. Slightly mentholic .. leans masculine. Extremely beautiful from opening to dry down

Absolutely gorgeous perfume. Smells NOTHING like By Kilian.

This smells nothing like BTV Ardent to me. This is a "cold" smokey (not incense but literal smoke) amber rose scent. It has a mentholated note to it but it doesn't smell medicinal. It's a complex scent and imo, won't be a crowd pleaser. You'll definitely stand out wearing this. Don't blind buy even if you love the note breakdown or you may be in for a not so pleasant surprise. But if you like to smell like smoke and a dash of rosewater, by all means go ahead. Sillage is moderate Longevity is about 5 hrs on skin.

No one should deal with this brand. The owner, named Ali, stole from me five months ago, has not returned my money, and does not respond to messages. I have proof of this and strongly advise you to stay away from him. If I’m choosing complimentary samples or maybe I am placing an order comprised solely of samples, I will look at the new arrivals and go for whatever sounds the witchiest, or alternately, the weirdest. I ask myself” “would Stevie Nicks wear this? Would Morbidda Destiny wear it? Would Barbara Steele scent herself with it in Black Sunday or Curse of the Crimson Altar or basically any role she’s ever played? If so, let’s grab it. And this is how I ended up with Betwixt and Between. My version of judging a book by its cover and throwing it the cart without even reading the synopsis or author blurbs on the back. Sometimes it works out. This is one of the times it does not. Sniffed right from the vial it is immediately a syrupy fruity-rose, which is strange because I don’t think there is anything vaguely fruity listed in the notes, but there is amber, and sometimes that’s how amber’s rich sweetness comes across to me. For a few moments it settles down and there is a musky veil of smoke that is absolutely gorgeous. It’s not a sooty, burning smoke, it’s more the aura of smoke, maybe a room where incense is frequently lit, although there is none burning at present. And then-betrayal! The fruit is back! This is an intensely jammy candied rose, squeezed from fresh fruit juice and pulp, heated and stirred with mounds of sugar and honey, and then cooled in little hand-crafted, flower-shaped molds until what you have are little fruit jellies, vivid nibbles of blackcurrant and pomegranate and lush summer roses. Hours later, those wily fruits were never there at all and it’s just that ghostly cashmere smoke again. I don’t care for this scent, as I am almost irrationally anti-fruit, but I know that some of you will really enjoy it, and I can’t help but to think it would make a lovely Valentine’s Day fragrance.

A lovely rose swathed in smoke, as if standing down-wind from a fire. I'd've preferred an incense-rich smoke to that of burning wood - being an Australian who spent last summer inhaling the stench of burning forests - but in Betwixt & Between the garden has joined the conflagration and it's all going up in flames. This is quite a nice scent if I detach myself from my environmental associations, but, well, I can't. Distillation: downwind from a fire a rose garden up in flames hits all the wrong notes

The sillage on this is unreal. I had trouble immediately smelling it on my skin, but my husband said it was like a cloud following me around from room to room. The dominant note at first is smoke with rose underneath it, which becomes more rose-y as it goes on. It's not my favorite rose scent ever, because I don't get a lot of complexity or sweetness from it, but for sheer power you can't beat it.

I agree with @mlleghoul. My first impression was kind of a BBQ scent and then red wine gummies. This scent literally makes me salivate while I'm wearing it. I feel like my slobbering bulldog. It lasts forever, but changes as time progresses, so I don't get bored with it.
