Misk'ul Hareem

Sparkly and juicy clementine and grapefruit, wrapped in a powdery veil of white musk and vanilla, meet me at the first stage. But it's not simple, I immediately feel some darkness too. It's amber, blended with oud, olibanum and sandalwood. It's deep, a bit smoky and so sensual... As if from a beautiful, bright garden of fruit trees I stepped into a dusk, luxurious room, with burning resins, wood chips. Dark cherry liquor joins the ambery-fruity part, but it's not very prominent, I get some wafts of it and then I move toward the flowers. I couldn't tell exactly what kind of flowers I perceive, I distinguish delicate and elegant floral aromas dancing between the fruity and resinous nuances. The ambery side becomes even more emphasized by frankincense and patchouli, with earthy, dark, spicy, slightly dusty nuances. And there's always a mystery in Anka Kus creations! A very surprising leathery, suede-type nuance, which gets even stronger and darker at the base, without any exact explanation when reading the notes. Masterful, sophisticated and complex creation, yet versatile and easy wearable. A very interesting combination of a vintage ambery side and a delightful modern composition with many unusual shades.

Misk'ul Hareem is a full-bodied musk perfume. The musk is not challenging, but rather moist and complex, made so by the artful blending of all of the supporting notes that include a sexy amber, earthy jasmine (the broken stem of the plant rather than the full bloom), a fruity experience (the cherry pit, rather than jam), and a complex wood/musk amalgam. No sword duels or spice markets here. Rather, a beautiful musk with the suggestion of trysts and tumbles deep into a balmy night.

#890 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Wow. This is a really unique, complex and evolving musk scent and one I have to have. I put this on a level with Ankh Sun Amon, Mexican Cactus, Kalemat, Anabasis. One of the very best scents I've encountered. This smells incredible!

Some components makes it smell like an old wooden furniture, but it changes alot, sometimes i get sweet mysterious whiffs of citrusy musky cherry fragrance but only occasionally and then back to woodyness. It's not bad, it's quite beautiful, but I don't think I would wear it somewhere else than my home.

This perfume is gorgeous! There are a handful of perfumes that identify as having a 'chlorine' note such as Dark Ride, Fougere Nakh, Tabaco by Coqui Coqui, and Homesick. They typically have an aquatic quality. I adore them all. This one is immediately my favorite, since it combines this note in a basalmic rather than aquatic direction. Another facet is a really intriguing white musk that is sort of effervescent and lovely to smell when it begins appearing in the middle of this perfume's life. I think this is partly achieved by reading a subtle cinnamon note with the white musk. Since my perception of this perfume is quite different from the listed notes, I'm guessing there is a lot of room for personal interpretation with this scent.

Sweet cherry musk... Musk is known for it's distinct smell, now "Misk'ul Hareem" is trying to hide that animalic and wants to make it accepted to all & i believe they did remove its charm somehow! the cheery woody notes added to it made it more sweet than musky. The clementine is as well adding some juicy fruitty sweet touch with the sweet amberic vanilla mix. I detect as well the grapefruit, olibanum, and cinnamon. I can't say it is bad, but i prefer to smell more musk than fruits, and sweet. Nice.

This didn't make the best impression on me, I must say... It's an animalic scent, for sure, mostly musk, but there was something else in there that didn't work for me... I'm gonna come back and edit this later when I've had time to process, or after I try it out again. Speaking of which, this only just narrowly made it into the 'give it one more try' basket.
