Vétivérité

(Spoiler: Being a muggle in perfumery, I am not in any sense deeply educated in all these theories, notes, perfume structures etc., so my review is totally based on subjective perception) Despite a new nose, even I can tell that Vétivérité is perhaps not the most complex scent - but very effective. It is a juicy green apple fragrance, with a very clean, crisp and even slightly cooling feel to it due to the vetiver and a hint of petitgrain (and perhaps a lot more; but these are the most prominent notes I pick up). Strangely, whenever I wear this, it just brightens me up ever so slightly - perhaps because of living in the subtropics, the hot and humid (sometimes even feeling stagnant) air can be suffocating at times, and this perfume cuts right through that; not to mention that it shines quite brightly under the sun. And it does have decent staying power too (lasts 6+ hours even in the terribly stuffy weather). Not the strongest sillage but not bad either. While there are myriads of complex, sophisticated perfumes out there, sometimes one just wants to fall back to something plain, easy but special. Vétivérité just hits that spot - simple enough to be a dumb-reach; but special enough to not be boring.

I recently got a sample of Vetiverite. On me, it starts off with a distinctly wet, earthy scent. It reminds me of stacking cheap firewood that's been out in some rainstorms, trying your best to avoid sinking your fingers into the pulp, breathing in that cold, burning air of winter. It dries into something fruitier, a tamed citrus that's straightforward yet rich, with a hint of linen. There's subtle undercurrent of spice, not a warm sort but a simple, striking kind-- probably the pink pepper. A bit of an unpopular opinion, but this is great for a wet winter day. It feels a little too clean and sleek for a spring or summer day, to me. Unisex, starts off more masculine but softens into a more feminine scent, but not a sweet one.

I absolutely love Vegemite. Oh wait, this review is for Vetiverite. The first and only freshy in the lineup so far from the great Ali. I love this one more than i love Vegemite. Same with all of Ali's creations, there is a great depth of quality. Most fragrances have dominant stand out notes but Vetiverite blends all the main notes perfectly to be perfectly original which is very hard to come by these days.. Be careful wearing it down the beach with Speedos on, chances are you'll crack a woody smelling yourself. I also have bottle number 1, first off the line :)

It's hard to have a dominant green apple note and not smell like a shampoo from forty-fifty years ago, and yet this somehow does it. Even though vetiver is the key note, this is not like any other vetiver fragrance I've ever tried--it's got a tremendously rich and interesting array of notes that make this very unusual. (I like vetiver so much i worried this would smell like something else in my collection, but it really doesn't.) This is juicy and rich and quite easy to like. A cheerful but sumptuous fragrance.

A cool, refreshing green-apple scent that surprises. Expected it to smell like shampoo, but it has a remarkable depth. The woody, grassy note from the Vetiver really elevates it. Like a lungful of breath you take outside of your cabin on a crisp, cold, but clear morning. Great sillage and longevity, which you wouldn't expect from such a fresh scent. I love it. A perfume for a woman working in a male-dominated field.

I can definitely understand why other are mentioned it’s smells like head and shoulders Apple shampoo.It does have very freshness and kind of smells like it from the strong Apple notes at the beginning.Fresh citrusy and good smelling fragrance along with other ingredients.Vetiver is more like a supporting note.Easy going and I don’t think any one will offend by this.Its a classic fresh scent that everyone will love.

This is class! Gentlemanly class.. Perfect on a warm Aussie afternoon.. Not easy to create a new take on the vetiver note, but we have it right here! Great work again from the talented perfumer, Ali..

This is very good... different take on Vetiver.. a strong but nice apple note.. almost a shampoo vibe right off the top... very clean.. nice citruses as well in this

Just in love with the natural Green feel. Its definitely my Top 5 summer fragrance.

An amazing, calming, revitalizing oppening. The drydown is majorly a close reminiscent of Ganymede wish I hate the most.

PDM Greenly mixed with Head & Shoulders shampoo. Great
