Dolly Girl Ooh La Love

Why oh why did they discontinue this? I only got a test bottle and fell in love. It's very fresh and lemony, perfect to feel fresh in the summer. Very long lasting on me.

Too bad there left no dupe nor similar one. spicy, citrusy, cool scent i ever had. Hope similar perfumes be released in the near future..

I quite like this one even though citrus or fresh perfumes haven’t really been on my radar. The opening is a strong blast of citrus and powdery; not a photorealistic version of it but a very perfumey one. The scent develops into a mixture of fruity notes (generic citrus, and somehow for me, peaches) about 1-2 hours in. The last note is a nondescript floral, almost shampoo-y. Loud enough to surround yourself with a pleasant bubble of fresh fruity-floral yet intimate enough for you to quietly indulge in the subtle scent of flowers. Feels like I just stepped out of shower, washing myself nice and good with citrus-fruity soap! Very 00s in my opinion and leans rather unisex. My mom like this better than the original Anna Sui, saying I smell so clean and cozy! Will definitely wear it on hotter days that are to come :) Edit: Sadly, I think I have some allergic reactions from this. Maybe the bottle I have may have turned bad, or maybe I just have a bad match with the ingredients. So sad!! This really could be my perfect rendition of mid-00s punk kid :( Edit edit: I’ve been trying to make this work with my body and (please do at your own risk) spraying some on the areas behind my knees seems to do the trick. Still can smell it, but not getting a stuffed nose!

I hate to start off a review by saying that this scent is not as bad as I had feared, but that’s the truth in this case. I had a carded sample of Ooh La Love that had been sitting around for a very long time, but was put off from trying it because a) it’s a flanker; b) it’s almost certainly a generic fruity floral; c) the card has a picture of a creepy bald head on it with some sort of metal implant on the skull. I know, I shouldn’t be prejudiced by such things, but what can I say? I was pleasantly surprised to find that DG-OLL is not as strong and in-your-face as I had expected, nor is it sickeningly sweet. It’s actually a pleasant enough citrus and marine/ozone composition a bit reminiscent of the old Herbal Essence shampoo, with a slight hint of red fruit jello and some clean musk. It’s fairly linear, it’s not wildly imaginative or original, but it’s easy and pleasant to wear. People on the bus would not give me funny looks if I were wearing this. In fact, for a drugstore perfume it’s not bad at all.

This is the very first bottle my mom gave me as a 16th B.D present.I used to L.O.V.E it!! Very fruity, fresh and clean, perfect for spring and summer. I wish they can bring it back...
