L'Amour Rose Versailles

I just picked up this luscious fragrance on a girls’ weekend in Gdansk at TK Maxx. It was about $20 usd. I love florals and fruits and have several Anna Sui scents, so I did not hesitate on this one. It is a bit of a spicy orange fragrance with the barest hint of rose (odd, considering the name). I love it! The only down side of Anna Sui perfumes is they are not long lasting. But I have gladly sprayed it on myself many times today. Just lovely! I keep sniffing my wrists!

I picked it up at tk maxx for £12.99 and I wouldn't pay more for it. I like it, it's fresh, juicy and very sweet, but more suitable for teenagers, which is what Anna Sui is going for I guess. I don't smell maccarons, I smell orange gummybears but the ones that are like jello, not the classical Haribo ones. They have an undetone that I don't really like that much. If you've ever eaten stollen, you might have bitten into one of the orange bits. That's it. But that happens far in the background - looking at the notes, it could be quince that's bothering me. Otherwise it's pleasant, sweet, fruity-rosey. Longevity a few hours, bottle looks and feels good (matte glass, feels like velvet).

Beautiful fruity-floral gourmand. This is a very comforting and elegant fragrance. It's sweet without being juvenile. I get a lot of sweet oranges and apricot on my skin, some ambery depth and a touch of a macaron and roses in the background. It's not a complex fragrance, but it smells divine. For the low price it's very well blended and fairly long lasting. The bottle is also gorgeous! I'm wearing this in quite crisp weather and I still catch whiffs of it throughout the day.

I was excited about this because of the reviews making it sound like it smells like sweets. Sadly as soon as it dries down all I can smell is the patchouli. It’s not a dirty patchouli but it’s herbal, woody and strong to my nose so If you don’t like patchouli then I don’t think this is a safe blind buy! It’s pretty but I just don’t think I can wear this sadly.

1st impression, the smell is so good n luxury. but when i bought it & wear it, it seems that this perfume is not suitable for me due to it's uniqueness.
